What is thoroughly projected is that Bitcoin SHA256 leadership is threatened by this alt coin
LOL @ calling Bitcoin Bitcoin SHA256

Mission accomplished I'd say.  Cheesy (No I'm not behind Bitcoin scrypt)
1964  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: BTC-e now bans users for mentioning mcxNOW or realsolid [UPDATE] on: September 27, 2013, 05:28:29 PM
lol Realsolid apparently found another way to scam you suckers by dumping his Solidcoin premines.

Nice job mate!  Cheesy

Cyprus was a money laundering and tax evasion industry. People who had funds there gambled with them... and lost.

No Cyrpus lost.  Generally speaking people don't put money into banks which seize it.   Offshore banking is ~60% of Cyrprus GDP, or maybe I should say was 60%.

Yeah, don't put money into banks which seize it, and if it's a known taxhaven with almost nil controls it might just increase the risk of that happening.
1966  Economy / Speculation / Re: Ripples a threat to bitcoin? on: September 27, 2013, 01:06:36 PM
2014 email transcript:

USA Somalian Mo: cousin I have sent the money for your daughter's medication, 2000000 xrp are on there way to you.

Somalian cousin Mohamed : Do you hate me? Why do you send this ripple shit. The Americans are clamping down on Somali debt all around the world - the Indians will charge me twice that for the medications now from a Somali gateway because of the risk. Do you want me to become a pirate?

USA Mo: ha ha I am pulling your leg - I have sent bitcoins

Somali Mo : blessings to you and your family cousin.

2025 email transcript:

Somali Mo:
Cousin I can finally repay your kindness in saving my daughter. As you know business is good in BitSomalia - I have sent you 5000000000 ripples (I am glad they printed more!) for you to buy your Roboheart.

USA Mo: do you look down on me from your mansion? What have I done to deserve this? The Chinese don't want any more crap American ripple debt! Butterflyheartrobolabs Shanghai  will charge me 5 times as much, and only for a preorder! Do you want me to sell my antique unwashed original ripped Hulk Hogan shirt? For that is all I have left in this world. After that my only choice left is to join the NRA Terrorist Group!

Somali Mo: oh cousin life must be hard is your USofA. It is sad all the IT companies left. But fear not I was joking you - 0.1 bitcoin is on its way!

USA Mo: Allah's blessings upon you kind cousin...

I suggest you start bringing that fiction into reality right now!
1967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: September 27, 2013, 12:06:40 PM
That spike is due to mtgox volume falling off a cliff. They are trying to divide by zero.

1969  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ASIC arms race = the end of bitcoin? on: September 26, 2013, 10:32:39 PM
No not really.

What could happen though is the preorder chain leading to such a high difficulty that almost everybody mines less than power cost, at a immediate loss the manufacturers closing shop because nobody buys them anymore and the eventual sale of the second hand miners. Depending of how long that lasts 51% of those could eventually end up in the hands of a single entity.
But that would only be the symptom not the cause. The cause can only be prices to stagnate over an extended period.

Talk is cheap show me the code. Ripple delivered, your move.
1971  Economy / Speculation / Re: You guys gonna become paranoid about Ripple on: September 26, 2013, 11:47:30 AM
I see. You're in your 'lazy' period again. Probably no point then to attempt to convince you that, just maybe, if one of us bitcoincargocultists (which we are, admittedly) says he thinks the bitcoin protocol is worlds apart from Ripple on conceptual grounds he could, you know, mean it. Don't forget, if you would take that answer at face value, you could accuse them of being tinfoily Internet libertards. That's fun as well Cheesy

Of course it's different, Ripple has a cooperate entity behind it (opencoin, now ripplelabs) Bitcoin has a non-profit organization behind it (Bitcoin Foundation). Bitcoin is grass-roots, Ripple is old guard.
Have you seen anybody criticizing ripple that way? I haven't, and I think I know why: Preaching free market capitalism and criticizing for profit cooperations using FOSS for their purposes does make you look like a hypocrite.

FYI, my signature isn't really my opinion, (that's why it is in quotes), it's meant as a ridicule of people who suggest I have been paid by TPTB to troll here. It seems to be working btw.

Watching TF struggle over the upcoming months will be the most entertaining thing on this forum since Pirate and Matthew.

In regards to your smear campaign, good luck getting ROI on that one, you dun goofed!  (I dare you to pay another year of google adwords for ripplescam.   Cheesy)
That's funny, because ripple scam project was never for profit. There's no ROI to achieve.

If you only talk to the tiny amount of Ripple shills, of course you'll think I'm struggling. But take a look here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=301778.0 Smiley

FYI, my AdWords campaign for RippleScam is still running. I've tuned it so I pay less than a cent per impression of ripplescam.org Smiley

Oh you did expect ROI, namely hoping to get the Ripple VC money turned into Butts and profiting from the resulting capital gains.
1973  Economy / Speculation / Re: You guys gonna become paranoid about Ripple on: September 26, 2013, 10:51:34 AM
Bump.

You guys are ripe, about as paranoid as a schizophrenic in police custody.

What is ripple?

NICE!

How does one become paranoid about something they are ignorant of and have no interest in?

That was my point.

They aren't uninterested in it, to the contrary. The irony is that they realize the potential of the concept, it is just that they are so much into the Bitcoin Cult that they can't accept the conclusion.
They will attack anything that isn't directly leading to capital gains of their investment, no matter how innovative.

The "big news" trope is a bit played out don't ya know...

I don't think I've ever seen an upcoming "big news" announcement live up to expectation, but there is always that distant hope...

 Grin
I think it all started with the announcement of an announcement thing.
1976  Economy / Speculation / Re: price about to go UP - reason all the overpriced asics on: September 25, 2013, 06:22:28 PM
%
doubt it, what's the point of only partially repaying off your credit card at all. they'll just make minimum payments and wait it out. only mgio here sounds like he wants to sell at a neverending loss Cheesy

So you are betting on BTC increasing fast enough to outweigh the 20%+ interest being charged for not paying off the balance?

20%,  kind of high,  YEARLY interest...  100% yes
Some aren't borrowing money.. and only 4% yearly interest if a mortgagefraud was used

cool!
1977  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: September 25, 2013, 03:25:22 PM
You people had more than enough time to leave Gox. Just admit that you are gambling on a positive resolve of the situation.
Actually, those leaving money in mtgox are not just gambling, they are part of the solution. If a bank run is prevented and trading continues mtgox will keep making profit and can eventually become solvent again (assuming they are currently fractional reserve) even if they are never paid their debt (millions of dollars: frozen, coinbase..).

You might be right, at least that might be what Gox is hoping for.
Whoever said Bitcoiners don't believe in cooperate altruism? Grin

How much efficiency do you suppose the system would have in comparison to a dedicated cluster? How do you intend to factor in the transaction data?
