How has the hodl bullshit influenced me?

FYI: I exit unprofitable positions immediately.

Tell us how you sold out coins at lower price and you want to buy back and how you are smart.

You mean trading? I do this almost every day.

Define what is:
a) "unprofitable positions"  (did you exit at $5 USD/BTC ? )
b) "immediately" ( 3 year ago ? )
d) what you think is "trading"  ( selling 100 BTC 3 year ago and buy 3 satoshi yesterday )

a) While I don't recall which trades I made all back then, some time I probably sold at around $5 and some time at $1200 or $200, etc
b) within 3 days to a week, some times shorter if I feel up to it.
c) trying to increase my capital, beat the market in a sense

ok but then it's just an insult.

so stop insulting.

Saying that somebody is an idiot because one does certain things isn't an insult, it's just descriptive of an idiotic action.
To rephrase this: People influenced by the hodl bullshit are idiots.

Actually there is really no advantage for the average joe.

except that every average joe is greedy, and dreams of becoming rich doing nothing.

So Bitcoiners and the average joe have at least this thing in common. Wink

The irony is all the idiots influenced by this hodl bullshit have no money to buy coins with. Grin

And idiots who sold early have no money and no bitcoins.

Are you saying I am one of those?

Some of us have paychecks you know... I mean for jobs in the outside world - not feeding from the fear and hope of others for a living like quite a few experts and traders here!  Wink

The thing is the price of Bitcoins is now so high that normal people paychecks do not really matter any more.

Ay yi yi.  I am beginning to think this is all just a grand conspiracy to screw with me.

It's all true.
1233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2014, 09:40:29 PM
In order to use media to make trade decisions you would need to speak every world language fluently, subscribe to thousands of media formats and read them daily.

you mean you don't do that?

No, I'm too lazy. I just use my time machine to jump forward and look at the price.
Next time you go would you mind picking up a copy of next year's charts for me please?  Thanks

Here ya go.

Nevermind that the price did enter the 2011 bar higher than it did exit it.

I'm not trolling exclusively, just on dumb topics. If the topic is intellectual you'll find me to be quite serious.

Know about the ICE train disasters in Germany?

Market manipulation they're trying to prevent a crash.

By being up and running? Cheesy

Just saying in case it happens again and everybody knows that exchange operators are full of shit.

1. Bitcoin is really the only established cryptocurrency out there right now.

Do you believe in the concept of cryptocurrencies? Then you should realize that eventually somebody will out-innovate Bitcoin and as such overcome Bitcoin's network effect.
1240  Economy / Speculation / Re: BYRON WIEN: Bitcoin Will Collapse In 2014 on: January 07, 2014, 04:17:25 PM
There is a point: Bitcoin isn't really anonymous, and there are no special features which can make it so.

If you buy your coins on an exchange you more or less have to provide them with your identity and on the basis of that even if you use mixing services there is a good chance you can be found out using taint analysis. So far law enforcement aren't really up to date on the technical side but when they are expect black market sites to disappear or hope for a better technical solution.
