21  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: January 27, 2024, 03:00:55 PM
Look, you can be old and rich or young an poor, but being old and poor is bad shit.

A surefire way of doing the wrong kind of things is to spend your money early or try to live a good life quickly without thinking about the future. Or if you have an ok job or income to think that is enough, even if you cannot save.

All young people, understand that time an money are linked. It is not the same to invest early than late, it is not the same  to invest more early that try to invest more later. 100 is worth 100 today, but 800 in 20 years if you play it safe but well. Make no mistake, you will need to start creating your wealth.

It is easy to say to save, but it is difficult in the current situation right now. I get your point that saving instead of spending your money on partying and useless stuff is good, but right now not all have the opportunity to save because of the low salary, and even not all of us have a chance to have a business. So if we do have a chance to save or spare money, then that is the time to save it instead of spending it.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Passion for skills. on: January 25, 2024, 04:41:12 PM
Mostly technical skills like programming because this would be a lifelong skill that we are bringing until the next few years, but the time on me won't allow myself because of the commitments that I need to make in my personal life. Having skills really gives you an advantage when you are looking for work or even using them in your current work. There are really times that you will lose motivation, but if you think about the reason you started, that is where you will get motivated again.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What You will do in this situation? on: January 23, 2024, 03:01:46 PM
A few days ago, my house was being cleaned. Three people are cleaning the front and back yards of the house. One of them was playing slots and I saw him. Actually, I wanted to suggest he try sports betting because I often see the guy watching football matches and he does have knowledge about many teams. So I was wondering if I could introduce him to sports betting so he could use his ability to predict every game he knows about.

Besides that, I just feel that if he deposited $10 = IDR 150,000 into a gambling site just to play slots, he would probably suffer a complete loss. But if he can place bets on sports betting, there is a possibility of him winning some money on small bets. Wouldn't that be an advantage for him?

If you were in this situation, what would you do? Introduce him to sports betting or let him stick to playing slots. Yesterday, I just let it go but we still often meet at other activities.

That person for sure is betting on sports because it is impossible that he didn't and only played slots. It is better to ask him first if he bets on football games and ask his opinion about the games because maybe you will get some tips on what team to bet on. It is better when you approach that guy when they are on break because they are working and they get disturbed if you talk to them while they are working.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: January 22, 2024, 01:14:41 PM
It depends on how she gambles, because if she just gambles for fun without affecting her health or family, then let her enjoy it because your mother is too old now and she should have fun but if she is always frustrated and you could see long hours in that casino then that is another problem. This is a special case because for sure your mother has her problems on her own like she has nothing to do or have fun with so you as her child it is better to look after her, like bring her to your home so that she could take care of your child as that is her grandchild and etc. Just make her busy with something not gambling.
25  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making too many picks reduces chances of winning. on: January 21, 2024, 01:06:44 PM
As gamblers, we love more action, so we tend to make more bets on a regular basis. However, experts say that when we make too many picks regularly, our chances of winning decrease. This is due to the fact that we won't be able to analyze all the games carefully that are in our ticket and won't have the advantage needed to win. So instead, it's recommended that we should value quality over quantity if we want to succeed in sports betting.

Share your opinion regarding this matter.

Edit : I see that some replies are talking about parlay. FYI, this is not about parlay, it's about making many single picks on a regular basis. Please avoid using parlay when sharing your opinion.

I got confused on what you were referring to, like betting multiple games. If yes, then probably it is true but this depends on the gambler because if you can analyze it per game, then there is no reason to not bet unless you decided hastily, which is a wrong move. Ive seen a lot of people betting after another game because they just want to bet and they know well that their team will win. What I would better say is that you should not bet hastily without analyzing the game.
26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does casino streamers have influence in your gambling life? on: January 20, 2024, 01:26:21 PM
I just smiled but I want to ask, how many of you guys develops interests on a particular casino platform due to the influence of the casinos streamers?

I am not fond of watching influencers on YouTube, mostly I watch tutorials and reviews. On social media I do watch their content but is there anyone here who watch an influencer who was not into gambling at first but is now advertising gambling? I do always unfollow them because they just after the TF they will be receiving and do not give real reviews on that casino. Ever since I havent persuaded by an influencer as I just do it on my own.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 18, 2024, 12:08:58 PM
We've all been there, that moment of realization when you remember selling your precious Bitcoins years ago and wonder if you missed the boat.  Well, take a deep breath, because im here to remind you that in the world of crypto, time is always on our side!

It might sting a bit to think about what could have been if you held onto those BTC, but let's not forget the golden rule of crypto: it's a marathon, not a sprint. The market is dynamic, and opportunities are ever-present.

Don't forget also the stuff you bought when you sold your Bitcoin before, because it made you happy and helped you with life. We shouldn't treat Bitcoin as the center of everything. Let's make a life and not just focus on holding and earning it and forgetting what happiness is. Regret is there, like selling it early but if we do have that mindset that no matter what price you sell it at and you used that money to purchase those things without Bitcoin you aren't able to afford it. So be thankful no matter what.
28  Economy / Gambling / Re: How Crypto casino market themselves? on: January 17, 2024, 02:21:34 PM
I am curious to know who are their targeted audience and at what age group. In general gambling people target countries like thailand more but probably this is not the case with crypto. Do they target nerds or total dumbs? How efficient they are between their marketing tactics?

They target everyone and mostly their tactics right now are finding an influencer that will advertise their casino as most people now are on social media and following influencers that will lead the viewers to sign up for the casino. Also as you can see here in the forum, a lot of gambling casinos are conducting a signature campaign and creating a thread here to promote their casino. This is mostly used by the casino right now aside from paying media to put your logo or advertise it in a game like Stake Casino does and others.
29  Economy / Economics / Re: How to stay poor! on: January 16, 2024, 01:33:45 PM
2. Live on one source of income. Everyday of our life our responsibilities and challenges keeps piling up accumulating without consideration to our financial capability. The economy and cost of living continue getting worsen. So in order not to be able to beat this piling settle comfortably on a single source of income flow.

I can't recall what book I read that told about the reverse psychology on things like instead of saying "You should have multiple sources of income to meet your needs" to others there is no effect on it like it is just a normal word but if you say "You should live only with one source of income, which is earning pretty low" you have a survival instinct kick in that you shouldn't do it because you struggle and are scared of it. This is also my way of thinking now to prevent things or get motivated.
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: January 15, 2024, 01:06:32 PM
Work time should always be work time, as you are getting paid to do work. Unless there are times that you are free and have nothing to do, you can do it without using the devices in the office. I used to do it in my office only when I was free because the seniors would see you if you are not doing your job, like not being able to complete the task given to you. Also right now because of the work-from-home setup a lot of gamblers are doing this unless they have a company that they are micromanaging, so they can't do it. The focus is very different when you gamble while at work, it is better when you are already out of shift.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 14, 2024, 12:39:27 PM
In the lottery, "I am close to winning as I saw my two combinations of numbers," and it turns out you'll be betting more and losing more. Another one is that "today is my lucky day, for sure I will win big," which leads to betting big and turns out to be losing all money and even debt. Those people who are giving you an alibi to gamble are a sign of addiction, so they should immediately seek professional help as they cannot stop themselves.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What ugly incident or occurrence have you ever experienced in gambling? on: January 13, 2024, 12:12:16 PM
For sure he will change his device after that game because he threw his phone. Luckily, I haven't experienced those kinds of unlucky malfunctions, but mostly in our lottery where you need to guess 3 combinations of numbers to win. There was a time that I was supposed to be going to the lottery, but because I saw my friends in a store and doing their snack, I wasn't able to bet. Instead, I bought it snacks too and forgot. After the time of the draw, my number was the winning combination, but I wasn't able to bet.

34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 12, 2024, 02:29:51 PM
Many youtubers and friends share their referral codes/affiliate links, saying you will get bonuses, real money, or free spins. but I wonder if casinos give extra help or benefits in some different situations.

For example, when someone wins a big multiplier and multiplies their account by 100x, then some casinos take a long time to process the withdrawal, or they may not even give the money. however, some say that if you sign up using a good affiliate or influencer affiliate code which have huge audience, then you won't face these type issues. also, if you promote the casino using your referral link, they might not hold back your withdrawal because you helped them get new customers.

is this kind of things is considered shady practice, or is it considered fair in the online gambling world?

No matter how big the influencer that you've signed up on is if the casino won't give you your winnings, you have no choice. As long as they see something a bit sketchy about you like you won big and you just deposited for the first time they will not give you the winnings. Affiliates are not related to any kind of your winning, casinos just use them to attract the same people as you and others to join their casino and make them deposit on their platform, and a part of that they will be receiving money or a bonus.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 11, 2024, 02:28:12 PM
I have come across Local gamblers who are addicted to gambling and had ruined their selves by themselves til they ran bankrupt yet they borrows money to gamble at all means even While being indebted.
Theses sets of gamblers doesn't have remorse nor conscience about their gambling lifestyles instead their friends and relatives are the ones who bears the shameful consequences the addicted gambler brought to their circle of relationships.
At the virtue of getting the unbearable situations to an end, the relatives broadcasts the chronic addicted gambler at all costs of gambling boards never to give him privileges to gamble in any of the Gambling arenas anymore else they (the relatives) would sue the gambling boards owner.
This is just how recklessness could mess your life of you can't take control to gamble responsibly.

Take note and be aware that your way of gambling could affect your relationships and the circle of your relatives.

I got curious that they easily talk to the gambling board to ban their relatives from any gambling activities because in my area, a lot of those people who were in that position that they didn't care at all and didn't mind you at all. This might be the case that they know the members of it or those people really care about gambling, but other than that, I do hope that he will be prevented from gambling because there is still space online that he can access without knowing his family.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 10, 2024, 05:10:04 PM
This kind of act is too greedy, you should set goals or limit how much you want to own Bitcoin. This is like an attitude that can make you fall later on and I also see that there is no life in this kind of attitude, like when you keep chasing money to buy Bitcoin and you have no social life. We should always set an amount that is enough and only what we can afford to lose and live out our lives, and not compare our holdings to others so that we won't get jealous.
37  Economy / Economics / Re: Setting up financial structures before going into the family way on: January 09, 2024, 12:46:50 PM
You have a point because being financially free or stable before going into marriage and having kids is an advantage. I will say an advantage because no big problems will arise or your married life will be very easy as you have money, unlike going into it without preparation. But I will tell you that this only applies in some cases because others will go into marriage without it and do their best and hard work to achieve their goals. I have seen people like this and stated that if they are single, for sure they keep partying with their money and have no point in their lives. Your partner brings you success, and there will always be hardships in every marriage.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: January 08, 2024, 01:18:34 PM
Congratulations on your win and how you spent it wisely. It is memorable for sure because as the years go by when you see that television you will say that you bought it because of your winnings in gambling, it recalls your winnings and how you spent them. I haven't tried to win that huge amount but I always buy food whenever I win or eat at a restaurant just to treat myself and make my stomach full. I do hope others will do it too but there are only a small number of people doing that as others will re-bet it.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 07, 2024, 12:05:38 PM
This thread is inspired by the thread created by sportsbet.io about a lucky bettor who won $42 million on a $50 spin.

So let's discuss. This kind of win can be compelete considered based on luck, and the winner is so lucky that he hit the Jackpot. However, since the goal here is $42 million and you can only win that if you would bet $50 for one spin. So, do you have the courage to do that?

This really depends on my mood, as there are times that I want to bet that huge amount in a single bet and there are times that I don't bet that huge amount, but if ever that comes to my situation, probably I haven't bet because my negative thoughts will strike me and say that I am wasting money to bet on it as I am not that lucky enough, but if it is only $10, then I could bet without second thoughts.
40  Economy / Economics / Re: 4 COMMON MISTAKES PEOPLE MADE WITH THEIR FINANCES LAST YEAR THAT SHOULD BE AVOID on: January 06, 2024, 11:58:52 AM
1. NOT HAVING AN EMERGENCY FUND
2. NOT INVESTING

This really varies for some people because for others, their salary is just enough for their needs and there is no spare money for an emergency fund or investment. I myself am having a hard time doing this, but with proper budgeting and cutting some expenses, I will try to do it this year because last year I had a hard time doing it, so I do hope I can have an emergency fund because it is very difficult to have debt these days due to high interest.
