Whats with the newbies trying to impersonate devs account name? Hilarious  Cheesy

Still developing this coin? Btw how is it still unique with pools present?

This is an EXTREMELY old question/argument that is answered in this thread many, many times.  Ocminer has a way through a private miner to allow you to mine on his pool however it is a trust/trust relationship.  Mine at your own risk.  With that said, I like Suprnova pools very much and have never had any problems mining his/her pools.

Final result

6x1070 rig, 2650sols/s 145/590 @60% tdp, had to reduce OC a bit to be stable. solver 0 forced, the best so far. Multiple instance of the miner seems to make it unstable now, with 3 it's totally unstable, with 2, it's pretty stable, but don't get more sols than with 1 instance. so about 2/2.5% gain from 0.0.1b

Can I ask what 1070 cards you are using?

Thanks

Yes of course

6x EVGA GTX 1070 FTW, 60% TDP (about 110w per card, nvidia-smi, 830w @ wall)

@m1n1ngP4d4w4n - may I ask - what motherboard/processor combo are you using to get (6) 1070's to run?  I have had no luck with (6) card rigs.  Thanks - pokeytex
Man! Most miners use AsRock H81 Pro BTC or H97 Anniversary for 6 cards but most mobos with 6+ PCIE are good. Though some had problem on Z170 mobos...
Nvidias (6) are easy even with Win 7.

@nocab72 & @AzzAz - thank you for the information.  I am running (2) Asus Crosshair V mobos with quad core AM3+ processors.  I have (12) 1070's but could not get more than 5 to work per board.  I am running Windows 10 Anniversary edition - 64bit.  I would love to get them all humming on the same board.  I use EVGA 1300 Watt Gold psu's.

204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: FLYCOIN ANN : Software that alerts you on price changes and volume on exchanges? on: January 12, 2017, 12:09:56 PM
This forum / thread has gone to the shits!

Nothing but reposts of tweets.  More than there was in the Fly Club of yester-year.

There needs to be some intelligent conversation or banter at the least.

@midnight_miner - AGREED!

Let the proof of posts happen in PM or create a thread for it.  Proof of posts of retweets and facebook posts is just clutter!  Just my 2 cents.

Pokeytex wrote an interesting PM, and I'm going to address it publicly here:

Hello Georgem - I just wanted to take a moment to say hi and possibly give my advice to you.  Take it or leave it as you may.  I like you and I think you are doing and going to do great work on SPR!  Not because I am invested but because I see the potential in the designs and ideas you put out.  I am with you the whole way and hope that you are able to make it all work out.  With that said, I would like to advise you on not giving any timelines.  People hold your word as gospel and frankly I have fallen into the category once in a while especially with the Christmas "present" comment a couple weeks ago.  My advice is to not disclose any time frame and post maybe what you are working on.  Under promise and over deliver.  I know you have a day job and I am sure your personal life is as hectic as mine with family and all but the natives are getting restless and the negativity on the forum is starting to grow like a cancer.  If you have anything to satiate the appetites temporarily please post it.  From there - no more deadlines!  Shocked - Be well - Pokeytex

Thanks for your kind words.

Yes, you are right.  Cool

But even if I didn't give a deadline, someone is always going to complain about something.
IMHO my wrong deadline estimations are the least of SPR's problems (and they will go away over time).

It's this whole "faux urgency" as someone else stated, that goes on in certain parts of the community.
That's why a certain brand of people seems a little bit restless right now!
My wrong deadlines don't correlate with the "faux urgency" in their head, and that is what causes them "cognitive dissonance" and ultimately makes them snap!

We have a tiny group of people who own an insane amount of SPR (probably 5 Million in the hands of no more than 10 people),
and they can't wait to do "something" with it, they don't give a fuck about decentralization etc.
They want that quick masternode-wealth-redistribution-scam, do some scammy PR, move the price 20x-30x, dump their coins and be done with it.

I have more long term goals, believe me.  Cool

It is true that I keep planning deadlines as if I was already working pretty much 100% on this project, when the reality during the last 12 months has been on average 0-10%.
I probably do this unconsciously (out of gleeful anticipation), but then my dayjob always catches up on me with a loud wake-up call.
In fact, that is the reason why I am working on this patronage scheme, so that there is a possibility of gradually increasing the amount of time I can invest every month.

But your advice is good, and I will take it.

And BTW, I don't mind that some people are starting to act "cancerous" on BCT, they have always been doing that, and if anything I always welcome it when someone shows me their true colors.
It helps me adapt, adjust my wrong expectations and choose more fitting solutions to counteract this. (I am working on a pretty thorough solution here...  Cool)

Anyway, thanks for your patience,
all I can say is, I will be here, 2017, 2018, 2019... etc.
 Cool

Very interesting stuff coming,
and the first priority should be to have more regular updates, indeed.

P.S.: I hope you don't mind that I post your PM publicly, but in the interest of transparency from now on I will be posting publicly any PM I receive to address them accordingly.
It should help everybody (and especially newcomers) to figure out what is going on behind the scenes.
You won't believe the PMs I am getting, lmao.
Yours is one of the good ones.  Grin

@Georgem - I don't mind that you quote my PM.  I have nothing to hide.  I think your responses will help myself and others understand your position better.  Remember we are all here because of your efforts.  I don't know anything about coding so I cannot not help like others want to but I can tell you after losing all of my coins last January (to a hacker) SPR is one of only (5) coins I am in  now.  I have mined all of my SPR and am by no means SPR rich! Yet! Wink I believe in SPR and what the mechanics will be when all comes to fruition.  This includes the decentralization part of it.  Your last project update with the various coins in the same wallet really stoked me.  I will continue to donate to you when I can afford to so it helps you with your efforts on development.    Lastly, don't get frustrated with the community.  I know it is hard sometimes.  Please understand we are all foaming at the mouth to see what you create. Grin  We are a proud community.  Just take a deep breath and put one foot in front of the other when dealing with us.  We can be impatient sometimes.  ** Disclaimer: I know I shouldn't use "WE" because I sound like I speak for the community.  Believe me I have no delusions that I represent the community! **  Tongue - Peace out - Pokeytex

Thank you Pokeytex.

I did some digging and I see a lot of mining software returning that flag.  For example:

http://www.herdprotect.com/ultimatebitcoinminerv1_27.exe-9824b24e93748fd047b796b743b1a7e54ec9ce58.aspx

Most likely avast sees that there is satoshi codebase mining code here and is saying:  look out, this could be somebody trying to mine with your machine.

This coupled with no reports of trouble from any other windows users in this forum are consistent with a false positive on that virus find.

HOWEVER...

If you ask me any proprietary blobs are malware and so you are running windows - this means: caution - do not store life changing amounts of coin on this system.  Even the antivirus sortware itself is likely backdoored.

Also it is worth pointing out that the file could have been modified before you got it, unless you checked a signature.

SO

You should be fine to ignore that warning Smiley

However a new windows binary is in the works, there have been a couple updates to the woodcoin wallet I am helping to curate so we will publish another with signature to be even more sure it's what you expect and only what you expect.

If you are paranoid and/or you do have top secret stuff on the box you are installing,  you could run woodcoin in a VM.  Depending on what you want to do, for some things you can also use logaddress.org for generating secure addresses.

Good luck and God speed

Ok - eagerly awaiting a clean windows wallet.  I tried looking into compiling the linux source in windows and it is way above my pay grade.  Grin  Until then I will wait for a patron of the forest to produce a new one.

Hello,

would be new to me that uploaded spread malware. I use this service since 4-5 years and never had any issue with them.
The thing is..I do the blockchain upload automatically and uploaded offers ftp so its the modest way of choice for me

Ah no - I don't mean you are uploading malware - I mean the site is a pop-up site which takes control of your explorer so you have to shut down everything to get out of it.  I apologize if that came across that way.  Your files once downloaded are fine.

I didn't realize you couldn't share on dropbox any longer.  I use it for larger files and send the links to my clients.  I guess there is a limit I wasn't aware of.

Fyi - edit on original post.  The actual file name is XCNBlockchain20161128153500.zip

recent blockchain snapshot just check my signature ;-)

i can't reach it, not working?

Link to blockchain fixed..stupid tool.
I'm on uploading newest snapshot as of the minute :-D

BTW still many just leeching and not sharing the connection and the blockchain.
3-seeding and 25 leeching nodes that don't have the ports opened..going to ban those.

@ioglnx - thank you for providing the updated blocks.  That hosting site sucks in terms of pop-ups and malware.  Maybe try Drop-Box or Mega Upload?  Also, will you be providing a newer block update as the one dated from XCNBlockchain20161128153500.zip is corrupt.  Thanks - pokeytex

@cryptonit - I must admit I haven't followed the "Federated Blockchains" initiative and what is it all about?  I have looked over their posts but I am still confused what the benefit is to Diamond.  Can you please elaborate or point me in the right direction to read up on it?

Thanks - pokeytex
