201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 19, 2021, 09:16:56 AM
The Finals moved back to Arizona, where the home team tried to react to an ugly double defeat that has dampened enthusiasm and taken away certainties. The Bucks were gonna be called upon not to waste the positive energy of the two home victories. So far we're facing a series more balanced than we thought previously here.
What happened then? The Suns, back in Phoenix, lost again! It was a spectacular game 5 where the Big 3 dominated: Giannis with 32 points, Middleton with 29 and Holiday with 27.
Now the Bucks truly can win their first ring in 50 years!
202  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 19, 2021, 07:51:12 AM
Some huge news about Ronaldo!
Juventus management team is waiting for the outcome of a very important meeting with Cristiano's agent Mendes, but if we are to accept the rumors of Sport he's close to PSG.
For this reason, about a week after the expected return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin, Juventus still doesn't know his fate. The Portuguese himself hasn't yet clearly manifested his will. The player should land in the Turin on Sunday with a private jet, while next Monday he should carry out medical examinations and the first training under Allegri's orders.
The aforementioned meeting between Juventus and Jorge Mendes should be the end of the telenovela.

203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the practical value of Bitcoin on: July 19, 2021, 07:42:25 AM
First of all it has all the best properties of money without being an old fashioned form of money.

In this comparison you can see that, compared to gold, Bitcoin wins on several aspects. It's true that you can't use Bitcoin for crafting your jewels but the portability of the orange coin has no challengers.
Depending on your thinking, bitcoin has many practical applications. Just pick the ones that are best for you.
You can avoid it completely too.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 17, 2021, 06:01:52 PM
After the second meeting between Sassuolo and Juventus, the negotiation for Manuel Locatelli hasn't found an end. Sassuolo's asking €40 million, the same amount offered a few weeks ago by Arsenal and in the last few days, the Gunners have come back for the midfielder.
Personally, I don't understand why Juventus is focusing so much on him as with 40m there's much better on the market.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People still don't know about Bitcoin on: July 17, 2021, 05:46:53 PM
Bitcoin is a new currency. And there are many areas where internet is not available. So, without internet crypto currency is nothing. Because it is used only over the internet. In developed countries internet facility is available. So, there peoples know about this currency and trade in this currency. So, i think this is the reason.
For your information Bitcoin is 12 years old! I don't think we can consider it still new but rather a mature and great accomplishment in the realm of economics!
As for the rest of your comment, it really depends on what you want to do with BTC because even if there's no internet and I want bitcoin long term, I can easily create a paper wallet and have the BTC sent to it. And I can do it without Internet.
206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bank of America Approves Bitcoin Futures on: July 17, 2021, 05:22:45 PM
The second largest bank in the United States, has approved bitcoin futures trading for some clients, using CME contracts. Meanwhile, in 2018, Bank of America banned financial advisers from trading Bitcoin and related contracts.
In my opinion, I have the belief that in the future many banks will accept similar transactions of this valuable cryptocurrency.
https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/bank-of-america-approves-bitcoin-futures-trading-for-some-clients%3A-sources-2021-07-16

It is only futures though. Who cares? They don't touch bitcoin itself. They only want to collect them fees you will generate from trading. They probably think like JPM, if people want to trade this thing, why can't we profit from it? They didn't want to years ago but they see now it was a dumb decision.
They'll want to make money on those financial products they've always offered to their clients and that doesn't surprise me at all. They aren't gonna touch real bitcoins...yet. No big deal for the moment, let the banksters of wall street play with the fake tools while we keep on accumulating the real deal.
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambler? on: July 17, 2021, 05:19:11 PM
I've certainly become much more reasonable with betting but with Euro2020 I placed probably at least one bet per round with almost over 150$ wagered and less than 200$ profit. I gamble for fun but I have to make sure not to get into heavy habits because it's very easy to get caught into a gambling addiction.
208  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2020/2021 on: July 17, 2021, 04:50:58 PM
Varane would be a major signing for United. Still, even with him and Sancho, I feel they would be thin in a couple of positions (striker, midfielder, right back).

~snip~
Actually, I was a little doubtful about the purchase of Varane, the history of defenders who bought MU many who were not able to play well, many injuries and did not even fall into the coach category. They have bought some expensive defenders but none have been quite like Rio Ferdinand.

Varane would be a huge signing probobly one of the biggest defender signings in the last 10 years. He and Maguire should be a good couple in defence if they get along pretty well. Manchester United with signing Sancho and now probobly getting Varane as well ,they will attack the premier league title with no doubt. United will have a really good team for the next season
This year's United is getting serious, really serious. With all these great additions the team's well equipped to be winning the league. Also Liverpool should come back as a big contender for the next season. For the first time, since a while, I don't know if Manchester City will keep up and keeping the top or if they will get down the 4th place. Whatever it is, next year EPL's gonna be epic again!
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Cardano overthrow Ethereum? on: July 17, 2021, 04:20:24 PM
Not a big fan of both but from what I know, it looks like Cardano's got a lot of academic reviews on its side, the documentation and the protocol are being studied and researched by phds and such. It's hard to get this kind of traction from the academia, therefore that must be something.
Still, bitcoin even without that fancy academic side is far superior.
210  Economy / Speculation / Re: Goldman Sachs Charged in Foreign Bribery Case and Agrees to Pay Over $2.9 Billio on: July 16, 2021, 07:29:16 AM
I wonder why I didn't know about this?

How does this news "slip between the cracks"?

Are you guys slacking too or was it posted and I missed it?

Quote
The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. (Goldman Sachs or the Company), a global financial institution headquartered in New York, New York, and Goldman Sachs (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (GS Malaysia), its Malaysian subsidiary, have admitted to conspiring to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in connection with a scheme to pay over $1 billion in bribes to Malaysian and Abu Dhabi officials to obtain lucrative business for Goldman Sachs, including its role in underwriting approximately $6.5 billion in three bond deals for 1Malaysia Development Bhd. (1MDB), for which the bank earned hundreds of millions in fees.  Goldman Sachs will pay more than $2.9 billion as part of a coordinated resolution with criminal and civil authorities in the United States, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and elsewhere.

I just watched "The Kleptocrats" documentary, otherwise never would have know about this.

Its nice seeing Ballsacks getting their just deserts!

edited documentary name duh.

The more I dig into the weeds the more I am rethinking the idea of "politicians are the criminals". I used to agree, as in...the politicians are voting away our rights and taking our money to spend in a non consensual way which is criminal in and of itself.

But now I'm seeing that it's literal criminal organisations that are involved in our governments. Murders, pedophilia, human trafficking, all of it.

I don't know if you follow the vigilant citizen, if you do you already should know. Not going to post link. You find.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital EURO - What are your thoughts? on: July 16, 2021, 07:25:36 AM
In my opinion, the move to a digital currency by the government will have an even greater impact on state control over the citizen economy but at the same time it will allow everyone to start familiarizing themselves with wallets, cryptography etc thus educating people to allowing greater ease of management and certainly of approach towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general.

The digital euro will be the trojan horse for Bitcoin adoption.
https://www.ecb.europa.eu/paym/digital_euro/html/index.en.html

What are your thoughts?
Digital Euro is just a fancy term. Nothing else. It is still the same. The same fiat currency we are using. Aren't we already using digital fiat currency system? All those cashless transactions are just digital transactions.
The digital euro will be the trojan horse for Bitcoin adoption.
Lol what makes you think it's going to be the trojan horse for bitcoin adoption? Paypal and other e wallet existed even before bitcoin, but people are still using bitcoin. In fact digital euro might make people more interested in bitcoin. Who knows..
Problem is that you don't know how the Digital Euro shitcoin is gonna be implemented. If they create a stupid vetted private blockchain you can be out of the financial world with the click of a button (if they don't like you). Today they can deny you to open a bank account, to have a credit card etc but you still have CASH. What about tomorrow?
212  Other / Archival / Re: Brief History of Bitcoin Adoption on: July 16, 2021, 07:14:46 AM
After more than a hundred years Bitcoin rules the universal monetary system. All the planets allied with Earth use bitcoin to send fund back and forth among each other at the speed of light via the Lightning Solar Powered Network.
I understand this was a joke, but my immersion, and wishful thinking got ruined when you hinted at other planets being colonized by year 2140. Otherwise, I'm with you Wink
I've never used the term colonized in fact  Wink I don't buy that shit that we'll colonize Mars and such.
It's worse than that if you wish, I said we're gonna ally with unknown planets which we might don't know now.
F*** Mars Cheesy
Anyway, yes, it was a joke, but who knows what's really gonna happen, that's so far away.
213  Other / Archival / Re: Brief History of Bitcoin Adoption on: July 15, 2021, 10:47:59 AM
2140Nobody uses fiat money anymore

After more than a hundred years Bitcoin rules the universal monetary system. All the planets allied with Earth use bitcoin to send fund back and forth among each other at the speed of light via the Lightning Solar Powered Network.

Add that to the list, please.  Wink
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital EURO - What are your thoughts? on: July 15, 2021, 10:35:34 AM
Digital Euro or the worst shitcoin of them all  Grin
As mindrust specified, one shitty euro is always gonna be 1 EUR no matter its form and shape. The only good thing it will require a long time to be available but what you guys can be certain of is that, in terms of financial freedom, the Digital Euro is gonna be a nightmare, maybe our worst one.
I hope it fails and never sees the light.
215  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 15, 2021, 10:31:30 AM

216  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin? on: July 15, 2021, 10:30:18 AM
Looking at the market conditions we have today to cash out now would be a bad decision. I mean, unless you have quite a few coins and can keep holding long-term, I wouldn't bother selling right now. But life's different for anyone and I understand there can be unexpected expenses that must be honored and selling bitcoin for that, even if it's sad, can be necessary.
I hope to never be in such situations though Cool
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 15, 2021, 10:12:54 AM
What an amazing game 4! Middleton and Booker performances are from out of space! I won my bet as I got Bucks winning with less than 10 points difference. It was a tight game and Giannis did his part without being the MVP. The Suns could have had a bit more luck but that was all on the Bucks side. Now on the 2-2 these finals are super hot! I believe Bucks can win the next game too, but I'll wait tomorrow for a detailed analysis.
218  Economy / Economics / Re: what makes us good investors. on: July 14, 2021, 10:32:23 AM
A good investor is the one who wisely picks his investments and creates a clear strategy around them. To invest effectively you must be consistent, prudent and always be ready to follow your strategy without falling into the emotions caused by market news or the news of uninformed friends. And, above all, you must remember that to invest you must always have a long-term horizon; otherwise you are gambling.
219  Economy / Economics / Re: Singapore, the banking industry, and Bitcoin on: July 14, 2021, 10:11:34 AM
Everyone is looking at El Salvador to be “the home” of Bitcoin, but I believe Singapore is better to be the true hub of the Bitcoin industry, with serious players.

Singapore has made a lot of effort on the technological sector. It cannot be said of El Salvador.

Singapore has clean governance, and almost zero corruption. El Salvador’s government structure might be corrupt everywhere from the bottom to the top.

Singapore’s banking industry is what made the country develop into one of the richest countries in the world. It can further develop by embracing the Bitcoin industry.

I don't see Singapore making bitcoin legal tender anytime soon. That's the main difference between the two countries right now.
Bitcoin doesn't need no tech infrastructure, no govt approval, no banks to function properly.
Singaporean banks are accepting bitcoin to get new revenue streams.
Salvadorans will accept bitcoin to become financially independent in the future.
I see big differences here  Cool
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 14, 2021, 10:07:16 AM
Can we leave USA Olympics out of here? Let's focus on the NBA Finals guys  Wink

For Game 4, before placing a bet, I would focus a lot on the Suns' defensive problem that needs to be solved quickly; I think that for the next game the Suns need a different Booker than the one who fights with his aim and closes with 10 points and 3/14 on his shot, ending up in serious criticism while becoming the most watched man in view of Game 4.
Because of this, and if the Greek God will keep rockin', I believe the Bucks can win another important game even though this time with less than 10 points difference. Do you share my view?

The simple explanation could  be he was rattled by the Bucks fans. It's not their home anymore and he might have been used to people cheering for him but not in Game 3. He will adjust to it, that's how players are after a lost. It's the Bucks that needs to be careful when Booker starts to get used with the noisy crowd behind him and against them. Holiday will be dealing with him and I bet it will also wore him down running both offense and defense for the team.
Middleton should take over if that incident happens. He should also know the plays for the team because Holiday can't carry that load for the whole 48 minutes.

No, the defense of the Suns has really improved, getting rattled because of the fans is not a big excuse as they have been playing in different court as a player, they are used to it already. Let's just say that the Bucks were more inspired as they are at home and game 3 was a do or die game for them as they know they'll not be able to come back in the series if they'll lose.
It's not just being inspired, I believe. It's about having a player that can score so many points and be decisive in the most important moments of the game. That's not just inspiration! That's to have a genius in your team that can easily switch the game flow in your favor!
The question to ask is if the Greek Giant will be able to keep up.
