Yeah, not happening.

I don't understand your statement.
202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Conference 2011 NYC on: August 23, 2011, 06:59:00 PM
It is live. Follow them on twitter and you can may get an invitation code

If you need an invite, it is not live.
203  Economy / Gambling / Re: http://bitcat.ch/ - Seriously! on: August 23, 2011, 04:10:42 PM
I'm just not sure why some of these games are bogging.

Do people not trust them anymore?

What's the deal?

There are so many games now.  Players can be picky.
204  Economy / Gambling / Re: [FOR SALE] http://bitjack21.com (entire site, or just the code) on: August 23, 2011, 05:44:07 AM
I've played Blackjack on this site and it's a really good site.  The player experience is exceptional.
205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [bitcoinduit] Not long left! on: August 23, 2011, 04:01:07 AM
is the payout always guaranteed?   Or is it a gamble?   At this moment I can't afford more than .1 (can't risk it), but if the payout is guaranteed I might be willing to pay more Wink

[edit, just as I finished typing this I noticed the previous post, but I'll leave as is for now]

[second edit:  ok I get it now.  Seems fun, and I may play more Smiley  ]

Not at all guaranteed, that's why it's in the "gambling" section.

Someone always loses in a ponzi game.  The trick is to make sure it's not you.  Grin

Let me stress again, this is GAMBLING.  That said, I've been playing ponzi games for months, and I am way up.  at least +20 BTC on the ponzi.  Then I  lose it to Blackjack.   Cry
206  Economy / Gambling / Re: Great ponzi games you are missing out on on: August 23, 2011, 02:54:27 AM
I agree, that's why I made The Forever Game 15% and Zero Fee.
207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [bitcoinduit] Not long left! on: August 23, 2011, 02:49:32 AM
What is this exactly? There's no explanation on the site of what it is or how it works.

It's a ponzi game.  The site was obviously made by backend software engineers - as it works great but the design leave a lot to be desired.   Grin

If you go to http://bitcoinduit.com , the site front page, there is a link to the rules.

Quote
Ponzi Scheme: A game where the later entrants pay out the earlier entrants

Fact: Named for Charles Ponzi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Ponzi

They are deliberately vague.  I think their stance is if you don't know how it works, then don't play.  Ponzi games like this have been running in the gambling section for a while, so most of us die hard gamblers already know how they work.  The important part is that it's completely transparent.  All parts of the game are revealed.  How much is in the pot, how many people are in line in front of you, etc.  So you can make an informed decision on betting.

Anyway, if you bet smart, there is a lot of BTC to be won.  See my sig.   Grin
208  Economy / Gambling / Re: bitconduit run by a scam artist? on: August 23, 2011, 12:52:36 AM
apparently just someone who holds a grudge

They also seem to be anti-gambling in general.
209  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MT GOX Under Attack? on: August 23, 2011, 12:51:34 AM
Site appears to be down. For the moment at least.  Huh

I don't know what's going on now, but in the past, MtGox's DDOS prevention company has done more to make the site inaccessible for me than any DDOS has.

The person in question already posted this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=38661.0

I pay out 95% of the fee Wink maybe just a typo

Yes, you pay out 95% of the fee, which is 10% of the bet, so you pay out 9.5% of the bet.   Grin

We are both right.  Grin
212  Economy / Gambling / Re: http://bitcat.ch/ - Seriously! on: August 22, 2011, 11:56:13 PM
people are tired on ponzi now it was ok when it was a few games and you had a chance to make money but now days you have a higher chance to get burned then double your money.

You do need to be smarter about the games you enter.

However, the ones with a big jackpot run a long time.  It takes longer to get paid, but you do get paid eventually, since people keep getting in at the end to try and win the big jackpot.

for example: http://bitcat.ch/rounds/1 has been running since July 12 and is still going.
http://bitcoinduit.com/game/viewRound.php?id=The_Forever_Game has a 8.865 BTC jackpot
http://bitcoinduit.com/GOINGandGOINGandGOING has paid out over 94 BTC
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Open letter to Bruce Wagner on: August 22, 2011, 11:42:58 PM
In a world where I could've walked around streaming a feed from my freaking PHONE through the whole thing,

Not in NYC, at least if you are on AT&T
214  Economy / Gambling / Great ponzi games you are missing out on on: August 22, 2011, 11:41:06 PM
* "Instant" fee payout:
http://bitcat.ch/rounds/32

the operator in this game will pay you out 9.5% of the bet above you.  No waiting.  (well, he has to be at the computer, so it's not instant).  This is a great new twist on "regular" ponzi.

* The Forever Game:
http://bitcoinduit.com/game/viewRound.php?id=The_Forever_Game

Already running since Aug 16th, this game will never end.  It's got the highest active jackpot on Bitcoinduit at 8.8650 and is 2nd in total payouts for active games.  People will always get in at the end to try and get the jackpot, which means a never ending game, which means you will eventually get paid.  Disclosure - I started this game.

* Special Twitter Ponzi:
http://bitcoinduit.com/Special_Twitter_Ponzi

There are 3 or 4 of us who keep getting in to grab the jackpot.  No one has got it yet.  Grin  It's making for a lively game.

Join any or all of these games.  You won't regret it.
215  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Ponzi concept! on: August 22, 2011, 10:30:20 PM
I can confirm I received my fee payout.  Thanks.  killer Idea. Grin
216  Economy / Gambling / Re: New Ponzi concept! on: August 22, 2011, 10:22:44 PM
Well, if no one wants to get in behind me then I'll just take the jackpot, and no one will get my host fee.   Grin

(It's only been 5 minutes.  I'm just poking you.)

I remember reading about this a few days ago in this forum.  Repost?

It's posted again because there is now a news article to link.  And/or the OP missed the original announcement several days ago.
