201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The price of bitcoin, supply and demand in the market on: April 05, 2018, 10:50:31 AM
People don't understand that the worth of bitcoin isn't just its monetary value, but also its potential to revolutionize the future. Before the industrial age people used to use oil for making candles and as a lubricant. Now, in the modern age its value has multiplied drastically because people have realized it has massive potential elsewhere (combustion engines). Once bitcoin realizes its true utility, people will start paying more attention to its utility worth, rather than its commercial worth.
202  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cryptocurrency poker tokens on: April 05, 2018, 10:47:29 AM

No I am wondering if people know any that have raised $100k+ so I can look into them.

The ones that I have seen raise money are all the same and aren't actually technically feasible yet. Right now they really are a fail.

Not exactly what you are looking for, but there is a physical casino based ICO called Dragon token which did remarkably well during its ICO;

https://drgtoken.io/

As far as I'm aware, the casino has a poker component to it.
203  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any pvp betting game? on: April 05, 2018, 10:45:48 AM
This is definitely something I would be interested in, imagine dark souls PVP style battles, or even street fighter matches where both players stake some bitcoin, and the winner takes all!

Now that is something I would be playing regularly. As far as I have seen however, there is no such game because there is no benefit to the creators, e.g. It would be hard to implement, unless it was fee based, or rake based similar to poker. Perhaps you both put down 0.001 per fight, the winner gets around 0.00199, whilst the game provider makes a small fraction for providing the service.

Someone make an ICO version of this using Street Fighter 2 as the game.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dump the altcoins? on: April 05, 2018, 10:41:07 AM
You will regret it in a few months when the market begins its bull streak. If you sell out now your losses will be made real, and you'll be starting from a disadvantaged position in the next bull run.

Hold strong, don't check the coinmarketcap for a few months, and then thank yourself for not being a weak hand when the market recovers its former strength.

That being said, I think you might need to wait 6+ months for the market to restabilize again, so don't expect an overnight change.
205  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are Bitcoin miners still good to go? on: April 05, 2018, 10:38:31 AM
It depends on your country, if you live in a very low cost per killowatt country, then bitcoin mining can still be profitable, assuming you don't overspend on your hardware.

Ideally you would get your GPU's/ASIC below market price in order to generate a full return on your investment quickly, but it can still be possible even paying scalper prices on Ebay.

It might be a good idea to wait until the next gen ASICs come out, I think Antminer are released a 10nm variant of their ASIC this year, so that would likely be profitable if you buy at the presale price.
206  Economy / Gambling / Re: Cryptocurrency poker tokens on: April 04, 2018, 07:58:42 PM
Watching this thread, I would be interested in investing in something like this, if it exists.

That being said, do you know any good crypto poker sites with microstakes tables, e.g $0.01/0.02. Looking to try my hand, but not looking to go bankrupt against the HUDS.

I think poker tokens are a terrible investment. I would recommend regulated sites only.

I see, so you were creating this thread to prove that poker tokens tend to fail, as very few, if any have surpassed a $100k market cap?

Either way, still interested in any micro-stakes poker sites that accept crypto if you know any  Cool
207  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: The Seven Deadly Sins on: April 04, 2018, 03:26:39 PM
I think that nearly all of these traits are common to most people, regardless of whether they are a gambler or not. Nearly everybody is greedy, and wants to earn good money with minimal effort, that is just wishing for optimization. If you ask anybody, would they rather work hard for x money, or be given x money for free, they would almost all choose the second option, unless they are complete idiots. Wrath, I do agree is a tell-tale sign of a gambler, when they lose their money they then begin taking extreme risks to recover it, like betting their remaining bankroll on ridiculously low odds, whilst saying "fuck it". People rarely do such stupid mistakes unless they have been tilted previously.

210  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Pacquiao vs Matthysse July 15 2018 on: April 04, 2018, 08:09:38 AM
Pacman is going to win, I am pretty sure of it. People seem to discredit Pacquiao after his Mayweather defeat, but don't get confused, Pacman is a straight beast.

No doubt it will go the distance, as have his last 10 or so fights, but I expect him to win by UD.
211  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does ethics count in winning/gambling. on: April 04, 2018, 08:01:58 AM
I really don't think ethics counts in winning, or gambling, this is a competitive environment, so any unfair advantage you can get to win should be taken.

So long as you are playing by the rules, it shouldn't matter how you win, whether by using sneaky tactics, loopholes or tricks, this is gambling. You need every advantage you can get since you're playing against stacked odds.

That being said, when playing with friends, you should be ethical, as it's not right to screw people over.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jackpot...... on: April 03, 2018, 09:10:28 PM
I'm mostly used to playing dice sites, these don't often have jackpots, but I can tell you about an extremely low odds bet I won.

So, I had started with around 3 BTC in my bankroll (this was back in 2016), my old lose one, multiply up method had failed me about 20 times in a row until I was down to my last 1 mBTC. I then put a bet down on 9920x odds and won almost ten bitcoins. Sadly, I then quickly lost it again playing Poker. Woe is me.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots machines how to win on: April 03, 2018, 09:07:40 PM
Here's a tip, almost any website hosted on a free subdomain, such as the one you provided in OP is unlikely to be legit, if they genuinely had such proprietary information they would be making enough money to at least cover the cost of a domain and basic hosting!

That being said, very few websites will actually publish the win chance for slot machines, because when you know the win chance you then know whether it is a good idea to play at the machine. Usually slots are played for the bonuses, rather than consistent payouts, so it is probably not worth focusing too much on the odds to win in general.
214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency on: April 03, 2018, 04:44:30 PM
Blockchain is the decentralized public ledger that acts as a record of all the transactions that took place across the network. Bitcoin is one such implementation of blockchain, it has its own ledger, but there are others. For example LTC, Monero and Zcash all use a blockchain based ledger, but they vary in their implementation, hiding certain features of a transaction, or even omitting it altogether. You can think of them as brand names, they're all very similar, but have different blockchain recipes.
215  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump bans Venezuelan cryptocurrency in USA on: April 03, 2018, 04:41:42 PM
I really don't see how he thinks he has the authority to control what people in the US spend their money on? Pretty sure people are free to spend their money as they please (except on drugs and other banned substances), banning something digital like this could lead us down a path where the government decides what you can and can't buy, essentially preventing you from spending your own money as you wish.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty Earnings on: April 03, 2018, 04:38:40 PM
The question is do you have time to do all this things. For me I have no much time, for me to join here is only because I want a extra income, I do this when my free time. How lucky for those who have enough time.

If your current job pays you more than you can make from bounties, then there is no reason for you to participate unless you really like the project. Stick with whatever is most profitable for you, after all, you can easily invest more time into bounties if a particularly great one comes along.

Wow that is great! I started signature campaigns in the hope that I may atleast earn something. The problem is it would take a lot of time or several months before I can be paid if lucky enough to have joined good bounty projects. Hope so!

Make sure you check your bounties regularly, as you don't want to be promoting a bounty that has been cancelled.
217  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would be better on: April 03, 2018, 04:36:35 PM
Ethereum is taking even worse of a hit than bitcoin, which also means that it has more room for growth once this dip is over. However, I'm not so sure that Ethereum will ever reclaim its previous high, as it really don't have the potential Vitalik claimed it to have. I think the hype wagon for ETH is nearly over, whereas it has barely started for bitcoin.
218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Finding scammers on: April 03, 2018, 03:53:13 PM
There are network analysis companies out there that track payments across the blockchain and align them with KYC data, however I really doubt you will have the funds to acquire this sort of information, as the fee is usually quite hefty.

Check out the following;

https://www.chainalysis.com/

And google blockchain analysis, or blockchain identity mapping to find out more similar sites.
219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee charges $105,000 per promotional crypto-tweet on: April 03, 2018, 03:51:14 PM
I guess that's the reason why we have seen so many cryptos being "endorsed by John McAfee".... Because they've been paying him over 100 grand!

I guess that pretty much diminishes all those with his vouch now, as it is evident that he was a paid shill. That being said, this was posted on April 1st (in some countries) so might end up just being an April fools joke, though it doesn't look much like one.
220  Other / Off-topic / Re: Solution to overcome panic on: April 03, 2018, 03:45:35 PM
So you are saying that education is to key to overcoming ignorance, pretty sure that is probably the most common piece of knowledge out there.

I have some better advice for the bitcoin newbie;

1. Avoid pump and dumps, you will get burned, do not believe the lies or graphs.
2. Stay away from novelty coins unless you get in and out quick, they will be dumped eventually, DOGE is an exception
3. Just because a coin is listed on an exchange doesn't mean it will be pumped, often the moment it hits the exchange it collapses to nothing.
4. Take your time, don't act too rashly, you will find that you will make better decisions after understanding the cryptosphere in general.
