Very true, when you begin your session and everything goes against you, it is very easy to just think about it as a terrible day for you and stop gambling immediately, however when a gambler notices that things are going according to their plan, they will refuse to stop gambling even when they reach the amount of money they wanted to win during their session, as the sensation of beating the casino can be intoxicating, however nothing lasts forever and if a person keeps gambling for long enough, then it will not be long until a reversal of their good fortune appears and they start losing the money they have accumulated so far.

Well, it's possible, but the opposite is possible too. I mean, you can reach the amount of money you wanted to win during your session, but instead of stopping you keep playing and then you win even a bigger amount. It's not like it's guaranteed that a "reversal of your good fortune" will appear soon after after your winning, right? Your every spin is unrelated to the previous ones. I'm not advocating for more playing after you won something good. I, for instance, always stop after winning something good. I'm just saying a big win after a big win is possible. One day I was hunting for 100x on dice and accidentally didn't stop after hitting it, and, you know what, I won another 100x right away. It were two 100x in a row. Happened only once during my 10 years' long gambling journey, but it happened and so I know it's possible.

Why do I think there are craters on the moon?

I'll tell you why. What we see in our telescopes is not the moon today, it's the moon 100 years from now. And Bitcoin has been reaching the moon so many times already that it has created all those craters.
203  Other / Meta / Re: Where to post a bitcoin-themed fiction I made for critique and review? on: April 25, 2024, 10:24:56 AM
For further context, it's about the SCP Foundation.

Now that I think about it @betwrojg, off topic seems to be the best candidate since it technically isn't about real bitcoin stuff.

Yes, put it there and throw me a link.(Oh, I found it, never mind. Will comment of it later).

204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: April 25, 2024, 10:12:08 AM
It is not difficult for gamblers who have good motives, those who try to pay off the borrowed money after taking it. Moreover, if the gambler has the ability to repay his loan, then there is no exception. But nowadays no one trusts gambler because they mostly lie or cannot follow through on their words. No one wants to pay such people because no one wants to lose their own hard earned money. I don't trust gambler because the kind of promise they make to me is not possible for anyone else. I personally don't trust Gambler to lend money because they can deny it at any time. However, it is not possible to say that everyone is entitled to the same type of personality. There are many who try to match words with deeds. It is not bad for them to lend.

You are right, no one should lend money to a gambler for gambling. If you lend them money you might make their situation even more miserable. There is a good possibility for them to lose the money and then being in debt to seek another person they could lend money from and gamble again struggling to win and return the debt to you. It could turn into a vicious circle for them. No one wants that.

That hope that keeps you engage with the house, thinking that luck might be there somewhere and help us to cash out decent amount from the casino, though even how hard we try most of the time the outcome is not favoring our side, but, gambler always a gambler to the point that they will Yolo all in and try that luck whenever they've got that chance.

The outcome may always be depends from how lucky you are after that spin, though there are times that it's also being wreck by the decision making that we take, as if the chance to win was there but you choose to push forward instead of quitting after the result, ending it up losing it back to the house.

I'd say, if you keep playing after winning a good amount, it's similar to going all-in in a way. I mean, you put all your balance at risk then and else should we call that? I usually stop for the day after a good win. I never think something like "It's my lucky day! I should keep playing!", never. Rather I think "I was lucky this time and let's not test our luck further."

I would love to visit Vegas and its casinos not for the sense of luxury or non luxury, but to get that unbelievable experience of being in such place. Any place in the world with casinos of such level would do (like Macau, Monte Carlo or Amsterdam casinos), but Vegas is one of my dreams. I would go there just for the shows, cuisine, entertainment, shopping, services, general atmosphere there.

I'm with you there, brother, that's one of my dreams too.  Actually I'm afraid it would be a disappointing experience for me, but I would love to go to one of those places one day. To be honest, I didn't know there were casinos in Amsterdam. I've been there 5 times and it never occurred to me that I could visit one of the places similar to those in Macau, Monte Carlo and Vegas. I'm still not sure whether the casinos in Amsterdam are of that high level. What do you think?

Times are getting crazier, because it's hard to get money nowadays, lots of people do crazy things, a few days ago my neighbor was cheated by his "future" wife out of hundreds of millions of rupiah, the woman hijacked the man's smartphone and withdrew all of the man's savings, i wonder if this guy has Bitcoin on his smartphone, it's definitely not safe, however, fraudsters can come in any form and usually in the form of friends and close people, so be careful with people close to you, it's not a problem if you invest suspicious of them.

Incredible story. I'm so sorry for your neighbour. Returning to the OP's title, do we really need to blame fraudsters, I think fraudsters are fraudsters and they will always be with us, unfortunately. We can't be on guard all the time, sometimes we need to rest and relax, and in those times we may become victims of the mean and dishonest people like that "future" wife of your neighbour. I'm afraid there's nothing we can do about it, sometimes we will be deceived, but we should do everything possible to reduce the number of times.
208  Economy / Gambling / Re: [SOLVED] Betnomi | Project status & Refund Plan! on: April 25, 2024, 06:56:40 AM
Well, I've read your post and the more I think of it, the more complicated it seems. I mean, let's take a look at your list of refunded/non-refunded people. Among the 2 refunded ones are myself and @AHOYBRAUSE. I know myself, obviously, and I know AHOYBRAUSE. He joined this forum on February 02, 2022, and has managed to collect 661 merits since then. Pretty impressive, huh? In the list of non-refunded users, on the other hand, there are only newbies I've heard nothing about until this day.
Does it really matter whether the complaints are from newbie user or higher ranked user of Bitcointalk forum? How many high rollers have an account on Bitcointalk? There are thousands of people wagering millions of dollars in different crypto casino regularly. Are they required a higher ranked account to make their complaints reliable here in the forum (if they ever create any accusation)? Evidences are the most important thing here. Sorsis hasn't refunded the funds of those users who had big amount.

Evidences, right. By the way, do you have any solid evidence that someone wasn't refunded? Have those people, higher ranked  or not, provided evidences of them depositing their money on the site or just having it there? If yes, show them to me and I will change my mind if they are convincing.

Quote
So, what would you think about this Betnomi situation being in my place?
Betnomi is still a scam. I wouldn't defend them if I were in your place. Because everything they did was scammish. They have only refunded $400 to you, and a small amount to AHOYBRAUSE. The confirmed refund amount is quite small.

Are you sure about this? Maybe read at least Trusted feedback on Betnomi on this forum. They've got positive trust from such known and respected people of this forum as: GazetaBitcoin, TopTort777, cygan, willi9974, bitbollo, aoluain, famososMuertos, icopress, jayce. And those respected members who have given them negative trust just don't know that the issue has actually been solved.

...

I think I must tell my personal story of relations with Betnomi here. Back in 2021 they sponsored Bitcointalk Poker Series which I won

and together with some other my winnings it was more than $700

which I withdrew from the site without any problems. Then I'd been playing on their new site for some time, and at the time they had disappeared I had around $350 in BTC and ETH on their platform. It took some time and I admit it was worrisome for me after months had passed, but I believed in them(see my posts in this thread) and they have refunded me everything(more than $400 in BTC and ETH because the currencies had risen in value at the time).

Now, that's what I think you should do for those who were kind to you (more than once) when mountains of unfounded accusations arise against them: you should defend them. That's what I think.
209  Economy / Gambling / Re: FORTUNEJACK.COM |Deposit 777 play with 1777 mBTC |Live Casino, Slots, Betting on: April 24, 2024, 01:10:10 PM
the crappiest casino, how many people have these creatures already scammed, and they all have the same thing, several accounts and can’t provide evidence, so don’t be fooled by this casino, just read that there are just a ton of complaints about them

You have just created you account here in bitcointalk then you accused fortunejack as scammer without any evidence. What's wrong with you? If you have an issue with fortunejack, you can post the details and post all your evidences if you are so sure that you are being scammed by them. Are you being accused to have several accounts or accused to abuse their promotion with multiple accounts?

He's just a scammer who lost his hopes of taking advantage of FortuneJack and probably several other casinos too, that's what's wrong with him. He created several accounts and was trying to exploit their promos And now he's whining about them accusing him with having several accounts. How pathetic.

Unfortunately, there are so many of your kind on this forum, @victor1965, you can't even imagine. I hope in the future you'll have some better things to do than trying to scam people.

~ If we wants to feels joy of playing gambling, we must have limitations so we don't feels any regrets when we lose although that will makes us sad because of losing the money. But our losing is something that we can afford because we already knows the risk of playing gambling. That's why we must have self control or learns about self control so we don't have to gets the bad experiences and we can enjoy playing gambling and knows how to treats gambling.

Yes, self control is the key if we want to enjoy our gambling. It's not only about self control during your gambling section, but when you are making your deposit too. Don't deposit too much thinking you can win more with that. Deposit only the amount which you can afford to lose. Then you can even forget about self control during playing, relax and just enjoy the experience, because even if you'll lose all your bankroll, it will something that you can afford to lose.

-Have you ever bet at the wrong place and the wrong time?

Oh, so many times I can't even remember all of them! I think all gambler can say the same. Is it wrong to bet at the wrong place and the wrong time? I wouldn't say so. Sometimes those are exactly the bets that you win, but other times, yeah, you lose them, that happens as well. Once I during the day that was my Birthday I bet on 99.99 to come on a dice site with the probability of wining my bet equal to 0.01%. It was the wrong time for betting because I try to never gamble during holidays, especially during my birthday. But the funny bit is that I actually won my bet. I decided to make 30-40 tries, but I won it from the 24th try! I bet with only $0.001 so I won less than $10 from that 9,900x multiplier, but it was a nice Birthday present for me.

What about you? Are you trying to win one of them Jackpots and how are you getting on in this field?

I don't participate in Sportbets Jackpots. I don't believe I can win it, so I'd rather save my money to buy cryptocurrencies. If you will participate in the jackpots, I wish you good luck. But if you don't win, then don't get upset and don't make stupid decisions, maybe you will get lucky another time.

I have good news for you, mate: you can't know whether you'll win the Jackpot or not. When I was younger I even thought that it's advantageous for you to not believe you can win it. I'd say: "You lucky bastard, you! I wish I could say that about meself! I always believe I can win the Jackpot and that's why I never win it!" But now of course I know that your beliefs don't affect your fate. The only thing that matters is whether you participate in the game or not. You will surely not win if you are not participating.

~and reenter the market, forcing people to hold just ruins it,

Let the people be scared, let the people be more concerned about their money and be realistic in these things.

I totally agree with this. Especially taking into account that people who trust in Bitcoin will benefit from panic selling in the end having the opportunity to buy at very low price. Wink

I personally wouldn't call OP "delusional". To me it's an optimistic view of things, which I also adhere to. But let those who is scared to be scared, after all it’s their money, I agree with this.

One of the main challenges for a new platform or business to come out whether here on gambling industry or any industries is that you would really be needing up to give something unique or havent  been seen before.

That's what I'm saying to this : No. The entire history of businesses tell us about it. Coca-Cola was created in 1886 then several years later another carbonated soft drink, Pepsi-Cola, was introduced by a competing company. Was a unique drink that haven't been seen before? Hardly. But it's a thriving business, thriving to this day. The revenue of PepsiCo was more than $9 billion USD in 2023. And that's just one example. Surely, such approaches also work in the realm of gambling. You can copy everything from a well-known gambling site and make just some tiny changes, say, in color palette and house edges of some games and voila, a new site is born. Will it be successful depends on many things but its uniqueness is of a minor importance.

It took some time, yes, but in the end they have refunded everyone, I think.
Everyone! Are you sure about this? I would like to ask you to read this post again.

Pretty impressive, huh? In the list of non-refunded users, on the other hand, there are only newbies I've heard nothing about until this day. True, there's one user, GekkeBelg, who is a Full Member, but BitcoinGirl.Club, whom I respect very much, left a feedback about him: "I will not trust any accusations against any sportsbook coming from GekkeBelg." If @efialtis said he wasn't refunded, I would think twice before defending Betnomi, but he said himself earlier in this thread: "they don`t owe me s***"

So, what would you think about this Betnomi situation being in my place?

Risk and financial management are also key to the game. As you said, playing with small amounts is very wise and can be used to get pleasure from gambling without sacrificing all the money you have. but I will add a little, always cash out what you have got, whatever it is, so that it doesn't become a thought that can make you bet more and longer at the casino.

Well, as small amounts bettor I can't accept that advice. You see, if I played a slot game betting $0.10 at once and won 150x of my bet, that would be a great win regarding the multiplier, but it would be just $15 in US Dollars, and withdrawing that amount and losing like $5 on a withdrawal fee would be insane, Do you know what I mean? Yes, I know that I can "bet more and longer"(which in my case would be  just betting in other days) and lose it, but I accept that.

Most probably some already come into this idea but after careful evaluation and study, they realize that there is no market for price prediction even in cryptomarket and maybe that’s why we haven’t see any site to offer the same thing as many believe that if its gambling it should be game related or a sports related option because the purpose of gambling is to entertain as well.

I strongly disagree with this. There's a market for predicting anything. Create a site taking bets on how many meteors fall on earth each day and you'll get a huge demand. We just have to wait until it will be technically possible to say how many. But we can already bet on how many letters will be in the name of next Powerball Jackpot winner. And if such bets were accepted, thousands of bettors would be putting them, I'm sure. It's just because there many millions of bettors around the world, and at least a tiny portion of them would bet on anything.
