201  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can Conditioned Response Cure Gambling Addiction on: August 12, 2024, 03:06:51 PM
Why I created this thread: I am interested to know if the conditioned response is a cure for gambling addiction.

Gambling addiction develops through continuous repetition of habit, which is another word for Conditioned response, and this habit develops through stimuli, so a gambler who repeatedly gets excited through gambling develops an addiction.

Do you believe another stimulus [Conditioned Response] can replace the stimuli from gambling? So my question is, what is an effective stimulus [Conditioned Response] that can replace gambling addiction?

I will lock this thread after 4 days or 40 responses, whatever comes first
202  Other / Meta / Re: Does the forum need so much politics? on: August 12, 2024, 02:24:05 PM
The election is seasonal, and we are talking about an election for the presidency of one of the most powerful countries on this planet. Since Trump keeps mentioning that he is advocating the use and adoption of Bitcoin, this makes topics or signature campaign about US politics more interesting.

You can either report it or ignore it. I don't find it annoying because it will eventually die down after the election, and this forum has been very accommodating to many topics and issues; I have to stumble on this forum some world issues that I have not found on mainstream media.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is 2024 the Year of Memecoins? on: August 12, 2024, 01:55:29 PM
So far, 2024 can be termed the Year of Memecoins, following in the footsteps of 2021 when Shiba and Doge made a name for themselves.

Despite numerous rug pulls this year, we've seen some decent runs in memecoins. POPCAT recently reached a billion-dollar market cap, while MEW, MYRO, BRETT, and WIF have all hit triple figures in market cap since their launches.

But I think we're not done yet. I recently discovered Catdog, a dog-themed coin with a strong community. It's currently just under a $100 million market cap and is already listed on a few exchanges. For meme lovers, I believe this could be a good bet for the medium or long term. What do you think?

You can shill it any way you want, but the fact remains that investing in memes is gambling. Look at the community—it's flooded with memes—and see how many have been launched and how many more will come out.

Investing in memes is a big gamble because they do not need a use case; they are pump-and-dump, and they just copy features of past and existing meme coins. All the memes that come and will come claim that they are the next big thing or the PEPE or Doge or Shib killer.

Memes are still in the spotlight because they have become whales' playgrounds. They can manipulate the market and dump it afterward. I'd like to think they are conniving with developers because after the dump, the developers do a rug pull.
204  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Every action, sometimes, doesn't require an opposite reaction. on: August 12, 2024, 12:49:02 PM
Why do people become tyrants after losing everything in them? First of all, we have a grand rule in gambling -- casinos may not tell you about it but, you gotta know this; In the game, you can either win or lose. Whatever happens, don't lose yourself!
It becomes troubling to see that people allow their emotions to control them.

We are just human, and emotions play a big factor when we are gambling; what makes gambling addictive is the enhanced excitement; we sometimes forget who we are and where we are when the emotions are too high, especially when the winning or losing amount is too high.

We cannot blame these people as long as they are responsible for any damage they incur when the emotion is too high and as long as they are not physically hurting anyone.
205  Other / Off-topic / Re: Share your stories on how do you get addicted in gambling? on: August 12, 2024, 11:36:51 AM
This is for the gamblers who have been addicted to gambling before. Please share your stories here so we can learn from them and avoid getting addicted ourselves. Also, let us know how you overcame your addiction and how you are managing yourself now while gambling.

Addiction to gambling does not happen instantly; it's an accumulation of desire, motivation, greed, frustration, and satisfaction; it becomes a habit if done regularly, so the habit becomes embedded in our system.

I started betting on horse racing. I aim to win a few laps for fun and excitement because I've seen how some people react and what their actions are like at the betting station. It became a passion after a few weeks of betting because I'm actually able to predict some laps. I just thought then I just needed more time and effort to have a good prediction ratio.

I overcame my urge to gamble with the help of some of my friends and the realization that I could lose my regular job if I could not overcome my urge. It helps if you have family and friends who understand what you're going through.

206  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥 RYUWIN 🔥 A Global Guide for the Best Casino Experience ✨ on: August 11, 2024, 04:29:17 PM

Hello ,
Rating here: https://i.imgur.com/p4ps8f8.png

We will also add a review video and "cons pros" in 13 languages.

Tell me, with all the graphics hovering, will your readers know that this is the rating that you're giving to the casino? I think it's better to put it below the review and add some words like My Rating or Rating of this casino.

It is good to know that you will add more features, but it's better to make your site simple; after all, it's the review that counts. The good thing about the site is it traces your location, and the site automatically opts on the language of your region, which is a big plus.

Is this a review site? But where is the rating? You just post descriptions of the casinos. There are no pros and cons in your reviews, and there's no rating, so how do I know if the casino is good or bad? The readers will not be guided in reading your write-ups.
Your reviews do not include pros and cons or ratings, so how do I know if a casino is good or bad? Readers will not be guided through your write-ups, and your review site does not provide anything compared to established review sites.

If you want to be competitive do something different from other casino review sites and you will get a lot of subscribers

This is indeed a review site. Maybe you didn’t notice but you can check the review description by clicking the review button attached on each casino square. It’s color just blend in with the background that’s why it’s noticeable but they have the review but not that detailed.

Bro, I did click those review widgets. I've checked the Duelbits and CCSGORMPIRE reviews. I mentioned that they're just descriptions of the features of these casinos. What I'm looking for are the ratings and his own feedback about the site. All the other review sites have star ratings or ratings from 1 to 5., like how likely he will recommend or not recommend the casino to his readers

I hope he adds it to his next reviews and rates these casinos based on his own feedback and experience.

209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The growing trend I've noticed on: August 11, 2024, 03:18:14 PM

The amount of money and developer activity flowing into this space is truly impressive, as more and more teams recognize the potential of building on this rapidly evolving blockchain. Though I’m not really impressed because we’ve seen this situation before, and it eventually faded out. Let's see if this will be different.

Anyway, is anyone interacting with major points not here? From what I’ve seen, the game is similar to notcoin Are you playing the game?

Where the trend is that's where people will follow because that will lead them to money, the tapping mining now is the latest craze many bounty hunters are involved in, its easy for these tapping mining to generate millions of users because of the success of Notcoin, so from 3 to 5 tapping minings we now have at least 20.

I cannot keep up with all the invitation coming from my friends, I have to minimize my activity on these tapping minings because its quite addictive and taking a lot of my time, I don't know its potential but I doubt if this will be  a long term term, it will not reach the level of success of the memes trend.
210  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer spreading phishing links for Notcoin and Nibiru Chain. on: August 11, 2024, 02:44:15 PM
I am an active tapper on these tapping mining, and there are so many of them now, I will not be surprised if scammers take this as an opportunity to scam gullible newbies,

Code:
Telegram has been the hub of scammers; they know their way around here. So, if you're an active user of Telegram, you better check every invitation you receive, check reviews, or ignore them until you're sure they're safe.

Scammers know that you must link your Telegram account to wallets before you can receive your rewards, and they are exploiting this to hack your Telegram and drain your wallet.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are people interested in investing in altcoins rather than Bitcoin? on: August 11, 2024, 01:53:53 PM
Recently I have heard from some newbies that they are more interested in investing in altcoin than Bitcoin. They think that investing in altcoins will make them more profitable. So Bitcoin can not be more profitable? Is it possible to earn more profit from altcoin?
Some investors are more interested in investing in altcoins because of quick profit because of the pump and dump. They have seen this happen on PEPE and other meme coins where you can make a thousand times the profit, something you cannot see on Bitcoin.

But the risks are too high because the problem with pump-and-dump altcoins is that they are manipulated; you can lose all your investment because of rug pull. So people should be aware of the risks and only invest what they can afford to lose. I still prefer investing in Bitcoin because of its stability. We have seen how it always recovers so many times; you just have to be patient.
212  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's there a possibility of working in a physical casino and not gamble on: August 11, 2024, 12:48:23 PM

He stressed that working in a casino exposes you to irresistible desires to gamble and you can do little about it

This got me thinking and I decided to share it here, is it not possible to work in a casino and not gamble?
Are there other behavioral patterns that could be employed to reduce gambling excessively while working in a casino?
Let me have your thoughts on this.

This is not true; it depends on the character of the individual. I've been betting on horseracing and lotto, and the people I met behind these betting platforms are responsible and are not into gambling. Maybe this is required by the betting company they are working for because you don't want to employ people who are very much into gambling, as they may be tempted to steal money from the cashier.

Working in a company requires an ethics about gambling. If you're friends is someone who does not have those ethics, then it's better that he look for another job or talk to his superiors and ask to be transferred to positions where he is not tempted to see gambling tables.
213  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The advantage of online gambling | Microgambling on: August 11, 2024, 12:24:37 PM

If we were playing on a horse racing house, a betting shop or a casino there would have been minimums of at least 2.5$ on most games. Sometimes even higher. Sometimes casinos would let minimum spins for slots at 0.2$ but still on the slot you have to wager dozens of times to get anything so it's not really a fair comparison. Physical casinos would only let you bet low amounts on a game you have to lose a lot to get anything back. While for other games the minimums are 5$ or so.

Is this something you take advantage of too? I think it's a nice way to pass time and not have to spend too much, keeping the habit under limit etc. What do you think?

If you want to just have fun and bid a time, this is good for you, but it's not challenging. There's a lack of excitement in doing this. Imagine you have a long run of winning in the end; you will just win $5 to $10 compared to if your minimum bet is $1 or more.

But I agree that online casinos with minimum bets like that are good for having fun for those who are not really playing to make money but just to enjoy the game. However, you cannot play like that for a long time. There will be a time when you want more if you see that you always have a winning trend in your betting pattern.
214  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What if Gamblers had to go to Gambling school to learn? on: August 11, 2024, 09:25:17 AM
What if there was a legit gambling school that teach responsible gambling for maximum benefit in nearly every country that have gambling citizens, will it help to make gambling a profitable career or investment for potential new and old time gamblers?
Yes, if it's to make a player become a responsible gambler, although there are already a lot of guides on how to become a responsible gambler online besides character plays a big factor and no there is no school or course that can tell you how to become make profit from gambling because gambling is not a business venture nor a job for you to make money

Also, will the study or reading of books on gambling theories and strategies help to brush up one's understanding of how games are won, more than videos and podcasts would?
There's no difference, luck is not something you learn and apply, it just comes unexpectedly so whether you read it in books or watch it on videos or podcasts there's really no difference, you're still going to get the same results, and you will still rely on luck and you are still going to strictly follow the golden rule of only playing with money that you can afford to lose.
215  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Regarding sports betting, how do you do your analysis if u don't have much time? on: August 10, 2024, 05:55:06 PM

If you fit this persona, if you have positive results, how do you achieve positive results in most of your bets while balancing time, work and other activities?

I'm talking about football, but it can be any other sport you prefer.

I don't usually bet on sports betting if I don't have time to analyze the teams or fighters. I typically bet on boxing and MMA. There's an excellent opportunity to win on sports betting than luck-based games, so I always allocate time.

But if I'm having a hard time with my analysis, I have some articles and experts that I have followed that I can rely upon for comparison. I have positive results; I just need to pick experts to help me with my analysis if I don't have much time with my analysis.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Restore the Republic (RTR) Epic Fail on: August 10, 2024, 04:37:25 PM
Restore the Republic a token on the solana blockchain which a lot of people thought to be the new project of the Trump family turned out to be nothing but your usual memecoin with not much of a purpose. After hitting not even as high as $0.5, it goes down right after the Trump family clarified that their big crypto project was not a token and certainly not RTR.

This is the risk of not properly doing research; Investors should have gotten the news from the right source, not from influencers who are getting paid to shill and hype the coin.
Developers will pump their token and claim that it's going to the moon, and when they have enough pump, they will do a rug pull.

Quote
What could be worse is that many newbies would have been introduced to crypto through allegedly Trump tokens just for them to be dumped. Hopefully they do not assume that all crypto are now scams and just lies to manipulate people for money.
It's a hard lesson for newbies to learn, but experience is the best teacher. They will know now what to look, how to look, and how to decipher the right project from the wrong one. Even seasoned investors get scammed because scammers are good at creating a project that looks real and legit, so we really have to dig deep to save our money and effort.
217  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Consequences of greed on: August 10, 2024, 03:31:15 PM

But what surprised me was that the guy that predicted the game would have played the game exactly how he predicted it but he added some more games and he lost his while his friend won his own (to increase the potential winning amount).
What I want to say is that it's greed that made the predictor of the game to lose his chance of winning 15 million naira instead of winning along side his friend. So have you given anyone a booking code and he won then you lose?
I'm sure he will regret it and will have a sleepless night, but that's the risk of luck-based games. You really never know if what you predicted will come out; I guess his consolation is his friend will share a portion of his winnings with him for giving him the code.  I hope his friend does that out of consideration.

When a friend gives me a tip that I believe is credible, I always follow everything on it because it's not easy to analyze the game, and for his effort, I follow his advice and will not blame him if I lose because that's part of the game.

As I was about to delete it, I realized that throughout my years of gambling, I've noticed that online casinos are much more secure compared to lotteries, you almost never receive scam emails like this one from an online casino. That's been my personal experience. Has anyone had a different experience, particularly with online crypto casinos?

The email did not come from one of the casino you're playing, because they would have use their domain to claim that they originate from the casino, the sender use a yandex mail which is a personal email, anyone can send a spam and claim they are giving you millions but if they are using emails like gmail or yandex they are just bluffing and they just want to scam you.
219  Other / Off-topic / Re: Tell me, do you have a goal to be a professional gambler in the future? on: August 10, 2024, 10:53:33 AM
I believe there are many gamblers here in the forum who regularly share their wins and losses. But I'm curious—has it ever crossed your mind to consider becoming a professional gambler, someone who makes a living out of it and enjoys a life of financial freedom?
If I based it on my winning and losing ratio and from the experience of people who are involved in gambling, I think it's not possible to make a living as a gambler; the risks are just too high to make a living out of gambling even the best in analyzing sports can still come out short.

Betting is never a job or a business; there's no money to be made here. The losses are more frequent than winning if you want to be involved in gambling and at the same time make money, then owning a casino is the best option but as a gambler its a wish that its impossible to materialize.
220  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever lied about a gambling disorder you noticed? on: August 09, 2024, 06:35:07 PM
Ever lied about a gambling disorder or migraine that has grown persistent recently to a spouse, parent(s), lawyer or doctor?
I don't want my loved ones to be worried about my disorder like migraine, so I used to lie about it. Still, there was a time that it became unbearable that I had no choice but to tell them about it, so they could help, I control my addiction, those headaches or migraine are symptoms that something is not right and should be deal with before it become worse.

Quote
Also, what kind of disorders have you noticed have happened since you started gambling more?
Backache and an increase in blood sugar because I was sitting for a long time but I soon managed it, there are dangers associated with gambling, and that is sitting to much; in fact, I created a thread about this here

Every Gambler Should Be Aware Of This Health Risk
