Sadly, I think you are correct.
I think I just didn't notice until the power outage brought attention to it.

AND now you are harming the community too, by making alot a post about bruce, so that its the first thing you see when you search "bitcoin" on google. No it's not. There's nothing about Bruce on the first page of Google results for Bitcoin. The first result is bitcoin.org and second is Wikipedia. The third result is an article from The Atlantic titled "The Bitcoin Economy Is Collapsing With No Sign of Recovery". I'd probably be more worried about that one. true true. nothing YET. but if you continue, bruce might be front page stuff on google. which is not good. and btw. if you care to read that article, you will find it very funny, and without any proofs or arguments.

and...? they don't proof anything, i don't know what bruce intents to do scam or not, only he knows. i don't care. bruce's time as front figure for this project is over. i don't actually care what he did, just that his bad reputation is damaging the community. and if you people keep talking about him, and making a huge mess, instead of doing something good, bitcoin is likely to die.
Bad things do not go away by not talking about them. They try that tactic in almost every dictatorial regime and it fails time and time again. Bitcoin does not get harmed by talking about scammers. Bitcoin gets harmed by allowing scammers to go unnoticed, unspoken of and unattacked. It is people like Magneto who are harming bitcoin more than his so called "witch hunters". bruce got noticed. he did harm the community. AND now you are harming the community too, by making alot a post about bruce, so that its the first thing you see when you search "bitcoin" on google. and thats not good for the community. true bad things does not go away, by not talking about them. BUT bruce had been talked enough about, there is nothing more to talk about. seriously i don't want to hear more about him. but i want to hear about good projects from the community. bruce bores me. and he sucks.

please remember that i did not say that we should ignore him, or forget about him. but use our energy on something more productive. tell new people what bruce is, and tell people that you dislike him for being a Bad Thing for the bitcoin community. and then stop.
Are you fucking kidding me? Do you know how many -OLD- people are STILL saying the court documents don't prove he ever meant to scam anyone and crap like that? and...? they don't proof anything, i don't know what bruce intents to do scam or not, only he knows. i don't care. bruce's time as front figure for this project is over. i don't actually care what he did, just that his bad reputation is damaging the community. and if you people keep talking about him, and making a huge mess, instead of doing something good, bitcoin is likely to die.

stop talking about bruce, we all know that he is not good. start doing some good thing for the community.

Why does the blockchain format accommodate arbitrary text anyway? Who's idea was that? Mr Nakamoto.
If there's currently space for random text, couldn't the blockchain just be smaller instead?
It would be very difficult to prevent arbitrary text since it needs to store arbitrary data. A standard address is just a sequence of 20 bytes. What is stopping anyone from making those bytes an ASCII string? Sorry, can you help me learn why "it needs to store arbitrary data"? Why was the space made available when the format was created? Was it to store 20-byte addresses? Are they 'to' or 'from' addresses, or something else? Where exactly can I read the technical details of why things were designed this way? Thanks! https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Protocol_specificationsee the transaction structures. and also the scripting.

if you don't like luke-jr putting stuff in the blockchain: sent coins to 17yH22jVieEWq2voErEtwuajx5bq9djfpa
it *should* show up as "Luke-Jr Sucks " in the blockchain

Paypal ALWAYS sides on the side of the buyer, so the current scam is to brute force hack accounts on ebay and buy up bitcoins. Since the bitcoin transfer is NON reversible, after the honest btc seller on ebay gets the paypal money and sends the bitcoins, the non honest paypal / ebay user then says "oh my account was hacked! Sure, some accounts were hacked... and many were not - but they go on a btc buying spree to LOOK like they were hacked fully knowing that paypal will reverse the charges.
So person goes bitcoin buying spree, the tells ebay/paypal (same company) "oh no I was hacked" Person now has all the bitcoins, and gets their money back. Seller of bitcoins is screwed.
BTC seller is fucked because A> paypal ALWAYS sides with the buyer. B> bitcoins are long gone and you are out of luck and they just take the money right out of your account and may even freeze it. Ebay was originally pulling bitcoin listings but it appears they are allowing it now, but almost ALL the buyers are scammers either hacking the account or pretending to be hacked.
This needs a current thread of its own.
you are totally right. I have a little online shop, paypal-based and got chargebacked a lot. But well, what can i do if i only have paypal . And there is a way that you cant chargeback. On an other forum there is a paypal message which tells that you have no right for a chargeback. This works very often take bitcoin instead of paypal.
