1341  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / fuck you wallet format!!!! (RANT) on: May 04, 2012, 07:25:58 AM
i have one question in mind right now: "WHY?Huh?"
WHY have you designed the wallet format this way it sucks!
you are even using dbname/tables but you only have one table in wallet.dat(the "main" table), BUT you are using it incorrectly.
im right not reading this code:
https://github.com/joric/pywallet/blob/master/pywallet.py#L1283

WHY have you not put the each type, in each separate table? i don't get it! its a mess.
a table for settings, one for keys, one for accounts, ...
and i see you are using public keys, as a database key why not use the hash/address, as a key to both the publickey and privatekey?

what is the benefit, of this madness? the dude that came up this db scheme, is a bad database coder.

My account, with a strong password, was compromised due to the insecurity of their systems, but they refuse to accept any culpability or responsibility for my loss.

1345  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is MintChip still a notable subject for our Press subforum? on: May 02, 2012, 03:32:14 PM
I see quite a lot of repeated announcements on various news feeds about MintChip. Some of them compare MintChip to BitCoin. I am curious whether people are interested in tracking what is happening with MintChip?
no, no interest at all. its not even close to bitcoin. its just stupidity.

how can I unsubscribe from this thread, please?
Delete every single post you made in this thread.

I think that I made only one post before that one, but it is difficult to find where it is, the thread is too long...
there should be an easier way

1348  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Period between 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC drop? on: April 30, 2012, 07:44:22 PM
Anyone have an idea as to why the reward drops are so sharp. Any theory as to why the drop isn't monthly, but in smaller portions?

My only guess is it was easier to do at the time (I consider that this was a hobby project at first, and corners were cut).
its not easier its just a "random" number in the code.
the reason for the sharpness of the drops(halving) is because its easy, and platform independent. dividing by 2, is approximately the same as shifting the bits one the right, except its more "defined"/essential in a computer.
dividing 3 by 2, could on different processor architectures give either 1 or 2 or 1.5 ... which is not good for interoperately.
shifting one bit of 3 always gives 1
1349  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Period between 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC drop? on: April 30, 2012, 07:21:02 PM
Everyone's got their panties twisted over the first block reward drop, but is there any approximate estimate for the time between the 25 to 12.5 block drop?

Anyone Investing in Long term Hardware this year will need to take that into account.

I have the feeling it'll be about the same as the period between the start of bitcoin and the first drop, but I have no source for that.
i does not get my pants twisted, i don't mine.

~4 years between every reward adjustment.

Dodging the hard truth are we?   Tongue
Always. but still only miners, gets there panties twisted.

go away, satanist cutting emochild. And let us moch Atlas alone, please?

I shall do no such thing!

I'm not a satanist, I'm an atheist. Satanism just so happens to be the most sensible religion. A shiny turd in a sea of feces, if you will.
REAL ATLAS DETECTED!

Hey, what is this?

Speaking of the devil, I find satanism to be quite a sensible religion (compared to every other religion, at least). As this topic seems awfully off topic, let's talk about satanism instead. M'kay?

sure Atlas/Jon whatever sucks.

but this is not Atlas, he is just a troll, who is pretending to be Atlas.
Atlas was never this obvious.

For sake of having something to do between important matters, can we keep on pretending the OP is Atlas?

~Cackling Bear~

Sure!

Human behaviour can always be explained, whether it's the behavior of psychopaths or Abu Ghraib guards (see the work of Phillip Zimbardo)
i always claim that im proof otherwise.
