2021  Other / Meta / Re: If Bitcoin crashes would this forum still exist? on: July 22, 2021, 03:06:13 PM
Bitcoin were crashes on Q4 2018 the price is around $3K+ and this forum still exist until now, I think it's already answer your questions.
I tend to agree and I witnessed this, that was on December 15th, 2018 at the price of $3,236 but still didn't have an effect on the forum.

Many think that it was the end of Bitcoin, other members have stayed (I'm one of them) while others didn't, some of them they'd come after they heard a bull run again like what happened this year.  And many of them come back for the discussion and opportunity how to gain profit in Bitcoin and some of them come back for technical queries on how to recover their lost seed phrase or password to their Bitcoin wallet.  This forum was still there and there's no correlation against the crashes of Bitcoin price.

Bull trend or Bearish trend, this Bitcoin community will remain the same.  However, I believed many of the old users here fighting against FUD that quickly spread when the bear market comes, it should the legacy of Bitcoin will the same remain, no matter what.
2022  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mechanics of Crypto Exchanges on: July 20, 2021, 11:59:05 PM
I want to dive into how crypto exchanges work, specifically regarding: matching, calculations, marks, recovery from downtime etc.

Where can I find this information?
It's a very complicated question and I think this can't answer by a regular member here in the forum, it should be from an exchange developer team and how they will work to create an exchange.

But I found an article that gives you an idea on how to start to run your own exchange platform which is I assuming that this is what you meant for.
https://www.analyticsinsight.net/easy-steps-to-build-a-cryptocurrency-exchange-platform-in-2021/.

I suggest you find your own developer for this for a better answer.
2023  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which tokens have a future? I need 3 of them on: July 20, 2021, 11:48:23 PM
Hi everybody, I have about 16,000 USD.
But I'm very new this coin market. I need advice from experienced people. Because I'm so confused  Huh
Please inform me correctly
try to buy NFT. A good, promising investment.did you hear about Deedy.Digital? this is an NFT platform on the BSC where users can trade, rent out, buy, sell, enter NFT lotteries, support and connect with creators. you could try it.
I tend to agree because the very trending token investment is on NFT gaming tokens leading by Axie infinity.  The most expensive game in blockchain that I ever heard and is the decentralized token.  I think the most promising tokens now are in gaming tokens which is very trending and everywhere there's always a gamer.

That amount is good to start to invest, but make sure you have further research before putting your money into an investment.  Because not all of them give a good ROI and it could be a hype token.
2024  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Small capital and Big capital on: July 20, 2021, 11:36:39 PM
Trading and investment is a game of numbers and moreso how to use the numbers judiciously while properly applying the knowledge. Some people say small capital is the best to start trading with while others say small capital will leave you with limited choices that the best is to trade with big funds. Starting with big fund will always be the best provided the user is able to manage it. So many things are connected but I conclude that big capital is good but a good trader can work with small and big funds and make profits with it. Let me hear your opinion on this!
IMO, it depends on your skills and knowledge in trading, if you were quite new to trading, I would suggest starting in a small capital and that you can afford to take a risk because the chances of getting profit are small which are the most important thing is experience and you should learn on it.

The big capital if you are will experienced trader, because the more money you have, the wide crypto that you can choose, and possible the more profit that you can earn.  But trading isn't an easy way to get profit and there's no assurance of ROI since the market is unpredictable, it's a matter of dip research after all.

Small or big capital still cases to case basis which is potential have profit.
2025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't give your bitcoins to scammers on: July 20, 2021, 10:51:50 PM
Simply using our common sense will sometimes protect us from the scammers like this, remember that there's no free money on the internet and once there's a random people offer a service that if they promise you’ll make a profit, that’s a scam, a high ROI of investing doing without nothing is most likely a scam, doubling your money is a scam.  That's right, greed and naive people will always fall victim to this kind of trap.

We saw that there are always victims and most of them are new in the crypto world, which means crypto adoption has been kept growing and while there's a newbie that potentially gets scam, scammers will always take advantage of this scenario.
2026  Economy / Speculation / Re: The market is not good on: July 20, 2021, 05:00:09 PM
This could b on the Speculation board, a lot of predictions there what's going on with the price of the market.

The biggest pain point for Bitcoin due for delivery on July 23 is $32,000.
What's the delivery you're trying to say?  It might that is a possible resistance after of this having huge deep.
I have a forecast on the Bitcoin price prediction which is still on the positive side that bearish trend will end up quickly but since we know it's unpredictable and anytime soon the price will go up even in just a matter of days.

These days, there should be a risk of FOMO as we expected.  Why not just grab the opportunity and accumulated while it has a drop of price.
2027  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't trust anti-viruses for your security on: July 20, 2021, 04:21:00 PM
It's another victim just because of Google ads, shame on them, they're a big company but they can't able to filter those phishing and malicious links that who paid ads, as long as they had paid, they are free to advertise.

The victim was lack of research and was a little bit lazy because even checking and verifying the links as long as there's a green check doesn't mean it is safe in Google, using our common sense sometimes will protect us from a scam like this.  We shouldn't trust Google ads clicking on it because we know that they aren't safe at all.

The consequences of using chrome extension wallets, it's better to use hardware wallets.  The victim had been got hacked for $40,000 - $45,000 but why can't able to purchase even a small amount of hardware wallet.
2028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which trading platform to use in Belgium ? on: July 20, 2021, 03:47:14 PM
Hi everybody !

However, I wanted to ask the community for more advice. A friend of mine recommended to me Etoro. Do you think it is the right choice for a beginner ?
Hello there!
I personally tend to agree with your friend's recommendation, the Etoro exchange platform is suitable for beginners on trading like you.  They had also a feature of copy trading which is a good practice for making experience in trading and learn some techniques and it gives ideas while in the trading field.  But there's one thing that you must consider in the first place, there's a big amount in the minimum deposit, it's a $200 minimum amount for a first-time deposit.  Much better if you will choose them to read first the FAQ and the TOS.

Quote
Also heard a couple of good stuff about Coinbase...
I don't think if you will like their trading fees, while Etoro has absolutely had free trading fees for takers and makers.

Alternatively, why not you will choose Binance. IIRC, Belgians can also use this exchange.
https://www.binance.com/en/support/announcement/360042201591

TIPS: As a beginner, picking a good exchange is very hard, you should always do your own research first (DYOR) and don't forget to read TO and FAQs.
2029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police Destroy 1,069 Bitcoin Miners With Steamroller In Malaysia on: July 19, 2021, 11:53:04 PM
Is crypto banned in Malaysia?

If miners doing it illegally and stealing electricity or any illegal activity that against their country just to continue mining, that deserves to be them seizing their mining rigs or mining equipment and being destroyed, I remember this the same case here in my country when there's a backdoor or smuggled cigarette that being seized they destroy them all so that didn't use anymore.

We might do mining without stealing electricity and might we're fine if crypto doesn't ban in our country.
2030  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining vs Holding on: July 19, 2021, 11:32:50 PM
Bitcoin mining and investing are quite different, not all places mining is profitable and it depends on how much your electricity bill in your place that should be cheaper one.  Another factor is if in your place crypto mining is allowed because there are some countries that mining is strictly prohibited.

Whereas investment in Bitcoin is all you have to do is wait when the market price goes up and when your profit was there, but honestly they had different actual ROI.

If I were you, you can calculate and analyze which better them, because all of these kinds of investments are very risky.
2031  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the popularity of cryptocurrency continue? on: July 18, 2021, 11:41:00 PM
A big YES for that my friend. It has been observed and seen my our eyes how Bitcoin makes its name becoming popular from scratch to something valuable and this gives a huge interest to the people around. This will continue to soar and spread its name and use until it was still alive and valuable in the market.

In fact, we have noticed that big names and known rich individuals are also investing in Bitcoin, some of them are just quiet on social media but for sure they are also participating in the trend.
Also, the circulation process of Bitcoin was also continued spreading and it could be there's someone leave in adopting Bitcoin, at the same time there's a newcomer will come to adopt Bitcoin.  But that's right, there are too many big investors right now who got an interest in Bitcoin and the popularity of cryptocurrency will always be there and also evolve into a higher adoption.  IMO, the legacy on it will remain and it will become a wide adoption.

For sure these could be the always reason,
  • Store of the value
  • Use widely in most medium exchange.
  • As always means of payment that could easy to transfer worldwide across borders.
  • You have control of your own fund or be your own bank.
2032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Time to buy some low cap coins on: July 18, 2021, 11:03:27 PM
one of the best low market cap coins 2021

1. Matic Network (MATIC)
2. Zilliqa (ZIL)
3. Blockstack (STX)
4. SiaCoin (SIA)
5. Docademic (MTC)
6. SelfKey (KEY)
7. Basic Attention Token (BAT)
8. Linda
It's your choice but IMO, I will not risk my money on this but if you have good research on these coins you will hit a jackpot once they are pumped soon.
All low cap coin doesn't mean they are potentially good for investment because you will never know when they will pump again or they will forever a shitcoin.  It's too risky for me, that's why I always pay attention to those leading high cap coins in the market or which are focus only on Bitcoin.

However, you can do a lot of research on these, and which of them has actively made progress, IIRC, BAT token is that for brave browser I'm right?  If so, that has potential and those who had really use and the dev keep developing the project.
2033  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where do you get trading advice and tips from? on: July 17, 2021, 11:57:26 PM
There are a lot of people giving unsolicited advice and tips as regards the subjects.
I experienced this some PMed me on my social media (FaceBook) asking me about trading if I was willing to learn on trading, I asked them "how?" pretending that I don't have knowledge on trading or in crypto how it works, they offered me an investment or they will create a trading account on Binance just for me and I asked how do I trust them, they simply answered "I'm not a scammer, trust me" which is a common line of most scammers.

So, you must learn on your own and don't trust random people on the internet.  I learned in trading for almost 2 years of reading and searching everywhere including this forum, watching tutorials and tips on youtube but I didn't get it in a short period of time.

Joining groups like telegram, they aren't bad for other sources of information regarding trading but as long this isn't a pump and dumps group which is sure will not give you benefits.  Learn and research your own is a perfect of learning about trading.
2034  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Great experience buying from EastShore.xyz! Check them out! on: July 17, 2021, 11:42:44 PM
I have literally nothing bad to say about the experience.  I wanted to put this out there because I've been unsure about purchasing from overseas retailers online myself, especially if buying with crypto, so I search for positive recommendations and I can definitively say these guys are great!
Where did you found that positive recommendation?  Because upon having my short research they selectively scam people, they ordered but there's no product arrive.  If you didn't encounter a bad experience, that is good for you but it's very risky for me to purchase mining products from the untrustworthy shop.

For mining equipment that is safe and reliable, I rather choose Bitmain shop since they had also a verified distributors store to where to purchase.
https://shop.bitmain.com/partner/distributor
I'm not vouching for them but this IMO.
2035  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why do all crypto trading sites require so many steps for registration on: July 17, 2021, 11:17:19 PM
I wanted to buy Tether so I was looking online where to buy it. I tried few websites, but it took waaaay to long to register. I needed to provide my email and pass, then confirm email, set up 2FA, get code on my phone via SMS, leave my personal data, address, upload ID, upload this document, upload that document...
Because the number one problem worldwide is money laundering and terrorist funding which is the government trying to combat these problems, to minimize this issue.  All custodial services were strictly implemented KYC/AML to their all customers, to always verify and at the same time identify user's activities.  On other hand, this also serves as your security not to steal by others your fund on an exchange by setting up and multi-layer of securities including 2FA.

Alternatively, you can find exchanges that are decentralized systems but the problem was stated above, it could be your fund might freeze by the bank if you will convert to fiat, bank will always ask the source of your money where this comes from.

P2P is the best way for you regarding this matter but always remember to use escrow or a middleman for each transaction.
2036  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 5 Tips for Trading from Beginner, For Beginners. on: July 16, 2021, 11:59:23 PM
5 Tips for Trading from a Beginner, For Beginners.

1. Check market sentiment
2. Set loss/profit (really important)
3. No emotions, only believe in your analysis.
4. Do not click any button yourself, a trade should over with a stop loss or take profit.
5. Never 100% on one trade, 20% amount with x3.
It's a good tip and it's very common but it's also hard to implement into yourself, I have been there once but still, I can't execute all of them well.

Can I add something?
6. Trading Plan.
We should always stick to our trading plan what matters will happen.  Because all you have stated above will be followed once we have a trading plan.  It's also very important in trading to avoid mislead and that can be distracted by other's opinions.
2037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The most centralized cryptocurrency? on: July 16, 2021, 11:48:31 PM
BNB is the most centralized cryptocurrency but I wonder why they can't keep BNB at $500. Centralized cryptocurrencies should be able to maintain price power to protect users' funds
Even if it is centralized, doesn't mean the price won't move. It is all about the demand in the market. While the demand can be varied every day. So, how can maintain the price of the coin? It is also including BNB, the price is also based on the current demand. I don't see a reason of centralized coins to be controlled the prices. If it happens, I suspect people are worried to buy because of the high possibility of price manipulation.
That's the right answer because it doesn't mean it is own by a centralized exchange the price is under their control, still, the coin has a market cap and it has a demand and supply.  It doesn't matter if BNB owns by Binance, it just matters what network they used and who owns this network, if they use decentralized networks it means the coin is also decentralized.

The disadvantage with this centralized owner of cryptocurrencies might be selling a huge supply on a market cap that might turn down the price in the market or it can be manipulated.
2038  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be too desperate to make earning on: July 16, 2021, 05:05:45 PM
Trading isn't easy to make a profit we know that thing because the market is unpredictable and I think there's no such rules to follow as long as you have a trading plan you have the potential to gain profit in the market.  Those consequences might occur unknowingly so you must be prepared for it whatever happens, instead, learn those mistakes and don't let will happen again.

All I can suggest here is don't be harsh in making money in trading if you don't have enough skills on it, I prefer to have an investment in the long term for the less risk but of course, not the same potential of gaining profit.  Knowing the fact that trading isn't a game or a job but it's a sort of gambling that anytime your money will wipe out in just a matter of a short period of time.
2039  Other / Meta / Re: I'm very curious if there is a similar Fraternities in this community on: July 16, 2021, 03:37:49 PM
As the number of people in the forum increases, it may be inevitable that some small groups (groups of like-minded people) will form.
Most likely, they were found in the Local section.  You haven't found it there?

Yes, there is, AFAIK, there's someone making a thread about the Gangs of BitcoinTalk Smiley.
Let me name it here their gang name.

  • Foxpup Merit Cycling Club

  • The Clowns Cartel
  • The Mods Gang
  • The Wall Observer Gang
  • The SpamBusters Gang
  • The Scam Busters Gang
  • The Collectors Gang

Or there are outside forum groups like Telegram and Discord, you can choose where to join and by the way, welcome to Bitcointalk.  A Bitcoin community where talk about Bitcoin and crypto stuff in general.
2040  Other / Meta / Re: When is the right time to lock a topic? on: July 16, 2021, 03:16:06 PM
..comes my question when is it time to lock a topic?
IMO, when you have satisfied and find the right answer to your question that is the right time to lock the topic.

For me, there are types of topics to consider.  The first is the sensitive topic that purely asks a question, this means that you need a concrete answer, not a discussion and the second one is all about other's opinions and it needs discussion.  We are here in the forum with various opinions and suggestions, not unless if someone goes off-topic and you can report to the moderator in that way if ever there is.

Locking discussion topics might result in making another one in the future when the events will happen again and I tend to agree with what @DdmrDdmr said, so let it be open and report if there are spammy posters in your OP thread not unless if you will make your own Self-moderated thread upon creation so that you have a capability to delete that you think someone spamming in your thread.

If they were to autolock, someone would probably create a new topic on the same matter in a squeeze.
