So I fail to see the problem, he's allowed to sell up to the halfway mark, and then he is allowed to sell the company as a whole (the controlling interest). I'm failing to see how he's breaking the contract?

You see nothing wrong with the owner of the most sketchy exchange (non-publicly verifiable) actively trading on his own exchange?
...

So a Canadian sorry, Panamanian exchange that claims to be registered but really isn't, selling shares in itself at hyper-inflated IPO prices, giving revenue projections an order of magnitude higher, and said share price, predictably, plummeting after financial statement cheesy but nevertheless depressing PowerPoint presentation is released ...that doesn't seem sketchy to you? Cheesy

Never said it wasn't sketchy but its a few magnitude less than mpex.

With havelock they have no reason to pump their own stocks and are not actively trading on their own exchange.

Also dividends to havelock can be verified publicly via the blockchain so there is no fishy business going on.

Id rather trade on an exchange without such a massive incentive to ponzify.

If havelock had only 1 active stock which was openly manipulated by the stock exchange operator I would stop supporting them as well.
2022  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech launches a new line of ASIC miners - Best W/GH/s ratio on: April 25, 2014, 10:21:25 PM
Anyone know the exact dimensions of the pcbs and the psu?

I'm making an immersion cooling mockup and would like to know how close together these boards can get.

Average asic pcb thickness would be helpful as well. (thickest component, not just the plastic)

I'll compile the data and provide it later. In the meantime, you can look at the information package we've released for SP10: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/perv38mg04938ru/gkIFHA3OpQ
The PCB layout software is Allegro PCB Designer (Ver 16.6)

The size of these pcpbs certainly do look attractive for immersion cooling baths, easily stackable side to side with little lost space.

Are you going with a 2-phase immersion cooling approach using something like 3m Novec?

How are you planning to absorb the heat at the top of the container? Water cooled chillers?

Yes I plan on using a water cooled condenser at the top of the system.

I don't own a SP10 miner but the reason I am using it as a reference is because it appears to be the largest board out at the moment and I am wondering how practical a "one-size-fits-all" solution would be.

The most important thing when it comes to immersion cooling is how close together the boards can be (to save on fluid). The length and width of the sp10 board is very large which would require more cooling liquid which is not ideal. However if the boards can be placed very close together it can still be economical. I think that if 8 boards can fit within a 2U container it would be worth it (~3-4 gallons of novec needed per container). So that means 5KW could be cooled for ~$750 worth of fluid along with the building materials ~$250 or about the cost of an air conditioner while using ~1kw less.

This is of course theoretical and likely not very accurate.

It is simply impossible to prove it is not a ponzi. And it would have every reason to operate as a ponzi. (higher stock value -> more noobs to pay 30btc reg fee -> more money to pump stock -> rinse & repeat)

How else can you explain a constantly rising stock when literally no revenue to justify it?

BTW if you watch the order book closely for a while you will notice there are actually only 1 or 2 people constantly trading.

I patiently explain to your ilk *exactly* what will happen, and point to to those who failed to listen

You can keep telling yourself that but we all know it's not true. You spam every thread saying "bad investment" but instead of using logic/reasoning to convincing people, you use emotion and attempt to create drama/fud which is largely ignored.

To be clear I don't think seedcoin is a particularly good investment but I have not really done any due diligence. But if you have, then you should stop wasting your time with useless posts and let us know why this is a shitty investment in your opinion.

Note: Not all our competitors supply PSUs and Touch Screen LCDs, therefore if we compare our miners with these we will subtract the price of our extra hardware before the price match.
No one asked you to install touchscreen LCDs... nor was it mentioned in the specs when people placed their orders.

I'd have to agree there, no other miner that I can think of comes with an LCD screen.

Admit it. An lcd display is a nice feature. Assuming it's not too expensive.

I was expecting the original 25% extra so thank you to those of you who complained hard enough.

Porky/Lambchop/MP,

So now the 'fun' of trolling NeoBee has ended, is this your new target?

Warning people to GTFO, long before the inevitable OKTHXBI! from Danny, is trolling?  You were trolled by Danny, not me.

I tried to help you.
You thought you knew better.
Predictably, it ended in tears.

Hear that everyone? We should be listening to every 12 year old troll with a chip on their shoulder.

Every time I check a thread here I notice it is littered with ignored posts from you or notlambchop. Sometimes I read what you two have to say in the hopes you may have grown up and decided to add something of value but thats never the case.

Seriously why do two you do it? Don't you realize that your mindless trolling convinces nobody to not invest?

You both have spent literally hundreds of hours on this forum and posted nothing but shit. Why?
2028  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Experience on: April 24, 2014, 03:44:49 PM
Let me clear up nothing real quick:

  • BFL stole nothing. Unless someone can provide some proof to the contrary, they are lying.

Quote
  • BFL has scammed no one. Unless someone can provide proof to the contrary, they are lying. (Go on, ask for proof from the trolls claiming scams, you'll never get it.)

Delivering non-advertised product 6+ months later than advertised date along with no refunds = scamming.

Quote
  • There was no promised shipping date for the Monarch line and in fact there were big bold text stating that it is a preorder and subject to delay. Anyone who tells you the Monarch is late and that BFL made promises on delivery time is lying.

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/deceit

Quote
  • BFL has shipped over 50,000 products in the 65nm line. The failure rate is less than 1% (0.72%) not including power supplies.  If you include power supplies, that goes to 1.65%.  Far lower than industry average and a simply awesome (lack of) failure rate. Contrast to the other mining companies shittiest mining companies equipment, which has double digit failure rates and it's even better.  Anyone who tells you differently is lying.

FTFY

Quote
  • OP's experience is the norm. People rarely come to a forum to post when they have a positive experience, they usually come and post to complain. After 50,000 units shipped and you look at the complaints, that should tell you something.  Most people are not complaining, just a handful of disgruntled people and a whole lot of trolls who aren't even customers.

People rarely come to post positive experience? What about spondoolies/asicminer/bitfury/bitmain/chinese miners/all the non-shit companies?

It is amazing that with only 50,000 units shipped you managed to rack up over 1,000 FTC/PP complaints. Must be some sort of record.

So bottom line, that would have to be the best customer service hands down that I have ever received

This is almost starting to sound shilly..

You don't see anything wrong with advocating/supporting a company which has openly scammed a majority of their customers and is facing many lawsuits along with over 1000 FTC complaints?

Sounds to me like "Even though bernie madoff stole billions of dollars, he seemed like a nice guy when I spoke with him. Would highly recommend doing business."
2031  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Experience on: April 24, 2014, 06:09:35 AM
I get that was a significant issue but to me, having only dealt with them on this one transaction, they have been amazing. Perhaps they meant well and tried to deliver but had issues and are now really trying to do the right thing.

You would think that. But we are now 6 months past the original shipping date for monarchs proving that yet again (3rd time so far) they lied about shipping dates.

Other than sending money in to a black hole, no. Nobody has had any experience with them.

Too bad these scammers are going to have to buy a new domain name and try again.
2033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Experience on: April 24, 2014, 05:44:16 AM
I just wanted to share my recent experience with Butterfly Labs as I see they have copped a lot of negative feedback. I bought a BFL Single second hand in a non working condition and upon contacting BFL they were happy to repair the device under warranty. They even allowed me to pull it apart and send only the base board to save on shipping. It got sent back within 2 days of arriving at their office and they have been nothing but helpful.

Thanks for sharing.

Did you read the part where BFL stole millions of dollars and failed to deliver their under-specification hardware within even 8 months or give refunds?

I would rather pay a homeless man to slap myself in the face than order from bfl again.
2034  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: what do miners know what speculators don't on: April 24, 2014, 04:55:20 AM
Miners realize that mining will be 100% centralized by the end of 2015 which in turn will have a huge impact on the bit coin economy.

Can I have that crystal ball you have, because mine isn't working.   Tongue

Seriously, I need to plan a year ahead accordingly.

Mine is working perfectly fine and he is right.

bit coin mining will be completely centralized by 2015 along with bit-coins, and bitCoin..

But bitcoin mining will be fine/decentralized.

I don't think the paid trolls have anything to do with this thread turning to shit.

It has more to do with the absurd/unprofessional money grab from the OP.

As for "mindless ignorant posts" I would say the OP is the most ignorant post here. You create a title akin to "send me money for 5000% return" and expect us to take it seriously.

Get real.
2036  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: April 24, 2014, 04:26:54 AM

I believe you guys are assuming a BTC price per chip would stay constant.  June chips wouldn't produce as much as May's and would not be worth as much BTC.  Therefore price would have to lower and dividends would be affected.  However, the USD cost is the same from month to month.  If value of BTC goes up, there should be more orders and a premium price

I think FC felt it was easier to give a range in USD and tie that to production costs.  But, in the end it's 6 of one and half dozen of the other.

That is essentially pricing in bitcoin. If the USD price per chip increases as the exchange rate increases then it is the same as pricing in bitcoin. However, customers don't like to see their prices going up, so psychologically pricing in bitcoin is better if the exchange rate goes up.

However, if priced in bitcoin and the exchange rate goes down, AM makes less USD. Therefore, it is safer for AM to price in USD since their costs are in USD. Of course if you price in bitcoin you could increase bitcion prices if the exchange rate drops, but then you face that psychological problem again.

All this talk about pricing in btc vs usd is useless.

FC will sell the chips for exactly the max price people are willing to pay regardless of what currency is displayed.

What FC will never do (which many seem to think is an option) is pricing in btc without adjusting for btc value change.

"Psychologically" pricing in btc will return less profit than usd no matter which way the value of btc swings because it will either end up too cheap (value of btc down/less profit per sale) or too expensive (value of btc up/less sales)

PUE of home miners = 1.03

PUE of industrial miners = 1.3-1.5

Hey, jimmothy, what does PUE stand for?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_usage_effectiveness

Basically cooling + hardware

As soon as you need to add air conditioning and extra fans you lose efficiency.

Home miners (less than ~3KW) don't need extra cooling because they don't get too hot.

Also some people using their asics as heaters during the winter saves money where as a datacenter would waste it.
2038  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: The Best Mining Rigs Are Now Barely Profitable -- Now What? on: April 24, 2014, 12:10:50 AM
Now what?....I will tell you what.

The smart residential miners are closing up shop this summer because before the end of the year no one in a house will be able to make money.

The smart commercial miners are already planning their exit strategy for the end of 2015.

The smart industrial miners are making connections with governments and banks for when mining becomes 100% centralized.

Mining is pretty well over folks...most people just don't realize it yet.

I have to disagree with everything you said.

PUE of home miners = 1.03

PUE of industrial miners = 1.3-1.5

How can you speak for "smart miners" without being one?

2040  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN]ASICMiner Publicly Looking for Potential Customers/Partners for New Chips on: April 23, 2014, 09:51:13 PM

I'm actually designing a house right now and I'm very tempted to use bitcoin miners instead of boilers, to generate heat (heaters, hot water etc)... and sure, I'm paying for expensive electric heating, but they're earning coins at the same time, so it means free heating !

Thats what I did to partially heat my house this winter.  I bought some AM cubes in November, positive ROI, and kept the house warm while mining.

Now if someone could just invent a BTC miner that pumped out cold air! My A/C is already running non-stop from all of the excess heat.  Sad

2 phase Immersion cooling might be the solution.

No heat. No sound. Much less space required.
