2022  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Different format for blk*.dat on: August 28, 2011, 03:52:43 PM
solution:
start deleting spend transactions. and keep only the headers

you could of course still put strings in the block chain, by not spending. but...

Someone needs to convince Gavin that "the user experience is my lowest priority" is probably not the best approach.
go fix it yourself!

ever-rising difficulty

FAIL! the difficulty can go down.

no.1 noob-not-recving-transaction problem.

DID YOU DOWNLOAD THE BLOCKS?
2028  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin price history on: August 27, 2011, 08:08:54 PM
Thanks kokjo.

Sorry shyone, my bad. I actually use bitcoincharts quite a bit, but only for the market summary. I never realised they had charts, that's why I didn't click on it in the Google listing! Familiarity breeds contempt Wink
its not the whole price history... its only the mtgox price history. bitcoin had a price before too(i think...). but i can't see anyway to get that information, because it was private deals.

You got way too pissed off when i said it was unlikely that bitparking would steal 4 BTC since they charge fees on trades.
its the thread derailing and you limited knowledge about the subject you are pretending to be an expert on, im pissed off about.
i know they have fees, but thats not what the dude was talking about.
2031  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can't find my wallet.dat / unfinished transaction on: August 25, 2011, 07:20:43 PM

2032  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Can I buy other cryptocurrencies here with BTC? on: August 25, 2011, 07:15:37 PM

2033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining from many PCs on: August 25, 2011, 06:08:21 PM
so if i can make 70000 dollars a month why dont i close the whole cafe and just mine BTC? and why dont anyone does this?
omg. noobs are just dumb sometimes.

sorry mate, but i just _had_ to make you believe it.

no. you can't you can make between 100 and 0.1, depending on your machines.

what cards do you have in your machines?
2034  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help, I think i lost some BTC on: August 25, 2011, 06:01:56 PM
Did I mention that wallet is a horrible term for wallet.dat when it should be keys.dat.. your coin isnt stored there, your keys are.
You dont have to rebackup every time money changes hands, you do when you make a new key.
no.
the wallet contains 100 unused keys. they may be used for change.
its every 100 outgoing transaction you need to backup your wallet, or 100 creates of new addresses.

some how i don't think you much about bitcoin...

are you just a jerk were ever you go?

jackjack said simular above
no but you apparently are. you are talking about things that you don't understand.
go read: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Man_page#Why_must_users_back_up_their_wallets_every_100_actions.3F

the dude only generated 4 addresses, there should be around 96 usable back in the wallet.

no need for panicking, just wait it will solve it self.
2035  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to sell your coins and how NOT on: August 25, 2011, 05:55:30 PM
why is that the right way?
Optimal trade-off between higher than current market price and prolonged sale time period.
does not really make sense... Smiley but fine then Smiley
2036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mining from many PCs on: August 25, 2011, 05:54:08 PM
how many BTC i may mine per month?
around 7000, think. deppend on the machines.

is this serious? cause i find it way too much........70 or even 7 would be more rational!
totally seriouse! even maybe 8000 if you, tweak you machines.
