2041  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Don't be too desperate to make earning on: July 16, 2021, 05:05:45 PM
Trading isn't easy to make a profit we know that thing because the market is unpredictable and I think there's no such rules to follow as long as you have a trading plan you have the potential to gain profit in the market.  Those consequences might occur unknowingly so you must be prepared for it whatever happens, instead, learn those mistakes and don't let will happen again.

All I can suggest here is don't be harsh in making money in trading if you don't have enough skills on it, I prefer to have an investment in the long term for the less risk but of course, not the same potential of gaining profit.  Knowing the fact that trading isn't a game or a job but it's a sort of gambling that anytime your money will wipe out in just a matter of a short period of time.

As the number of people in the forum increases, it may be inevitable that some small groups (groups of like-minded people) will form.
Most likely, they were found in the Local section.  You haven't found it there?

Yes, there is, AFAIK, there's someone making a thread about the Gangs of BitcoinTalk Smiley.
Let me name it here their gang name.

2043  Other / Meta / Re: When is the right time to lock a topic? on: July 16, 2021, 03:16:06 PM
..comes my question when is it time to lock a topic?
IMO, when you have satisfied and find the right answer to your question that is the right time to lock the topic.

For me, there are types of topics to consider.  The first is the sensitive topic that purely asks a question, this means that you need a concrete answer, not a discussion and the second one is all about other's opinions and it needs discussion.  We are here in the forum with various opinions and suggestions, not unless if someone goes off-topic and you can report to the moderator in that way if ever there is.

Locking discussion topics might result in making another one in the future when the events will happen again and I tend to agree with what @DdmrDdmr said, so let it be open and report if there are spammy posters in your OP thread not unless if you will make your own Self-moderated thread upon creation so that you have a capability to delete that you think someone spamming in your thread.

If they were to autolock, someone would probably create a new topic on the same matter in a squeeze.
2044  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why are posts being deleted? on: July 15, 2021, 04:24:35 PM
Is a post that is not supporting or in contrary to the poster idea a shit post? I really want to understand this concept.
Seeing your deleted post that was posted above by @DdmrDdmr was totally meaningless and deserves to be deleted.  If you're contrary to Bitcoin you should have a concrete answer and the reason why for your debate, it seems you didn't know well how Bitcoin works, and obviously, that was a shitpost that might there are many users who reported your post.

We should be thankful to our moderators here in the forum, they had maintained the cleanliness and delete all those spam, imagine if there are hundreds or thousands of members who posted the same on your post that has been deleted, no one will visit here and read those post and topics.  Learn to post quality posts and avoid low-quality topics which will most likely be deleted.
2045  Other / Archival / Re: Brief History of Bitcoin Adoption on: July 15, 2021, 03:36:33 PM
2013Only drug dealers use Bitcoin
...
2014Only scammers use Bitcoin
Glad to know not only Bitcoin has been improved, but also authorities have now the capability to seize Bitcoin that come from fraud, each month or years we have heard the news that there are criminals who have been caught by the authorities and there's more, a third-party service that can able to trace and track down Bitcoin transactions to those fraudsters and they even think that using Bitcoin is fully anonymous, they're wrong.

I witnessed from 2017 and until now Bitcoin has a great improvement, even though there's a struggle when it comes to mass adoption just because the governments wanted a regulation towards Bitcoin but it proves that this isn't a barrier at all to have mass adoption and becomes the price hit into a new all-time high.

2046  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Reasons why they get it all wrong when trading. on: July 13, 2021, 11:53:06 PM
The number one reason behind every trader picking interest in trading is to make profit, if you aren't making profit then it'll preferably to stop trading and try understanding why you aren't making profit but when a supposed trader refused to stop to reexamine themselves but continue in losses with the hopes of things turning around automatically, they get it all wrong.
There's something wrong that you need to figure out because trading isn't all about making a profit, there are sometimes you also have experience losses.  But I think if you aren't getting a profit and decided to stop isn't a good idea for me, you have been there and learn from those mistakes that you had.  Quitting is not a solution instead, encourage and motivate yourself to learn more on technical and even in fundamental analysis which gives you more chances and potential of making a profit.

Bear in mind always that trading isn't an easy way of making a profit, learn your mistake and don't let it that will happen again, losses are normal in trading most especially if you're a beginner.  It requires a lot of work, study, and research.
2047  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: correct trading signals on: July 13, 2021, 11:39:32 PM
i am new in crypto world and i don't know how can i get right signals on right time . i joined some paid group but they gave me some good and some bad signals too. then i learned about indicators and i used some indicators but some time it didn't work for me. i want to know that where am i making mistake and what should i do to get a handsome profit.
Try to figure out the bolded part above, the reason is that the crypto market price is unpredictable and no one really gives a correct prediction.
Most of the trading signal group is a pump and dump group which is the most likely to manipulate a coin that has a low volume because it's easy for them to manipulate since they had many members to execute manipulation.

I suggest you avoid this group or joining them with a high risk because if you didn't know only the leader of the group and other close to the leader will most likely benefit most.  You've mentioned that you've learned technical indicators, just continue with that and do your own research, and don't rely upon other's opinions.

And if you have the time, you could also check trading bots that could assist you in trading like Gunbot.
I tend to agree but it needs more technicals skills before using this, it's totally convenient way of trading because you have on behalf of trading.
2048  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Add signature campaing on: July 13, 2021, 11:24:39 PM
You need at least a Member rank before you can join a signature campaign.  Your now a Jr. member rank a little bit more you will become a Member rank, you can head up on this thread, Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns, all currently running paid signature was listed there including the signature campaign information and participants needed.

But if I were your place, forgot in while on joining the signature campaign and be an established member.  Becue this forum isn't only intended only regarding that matter, we're here just to learn and share our idea of what we learned.  Joining a signature campaign is an extra bonus of what we learn and you're able to join.  Just learn more and you will be there someday.
2049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: British police seize $408 million and arrest woman aged 39 on: July 13, 2021, 10:59:17 PM
We had heard a lot of criminals getting caught upon using cryptocurrency and running Ponzi schemes, it might they think that using cryptocurrency is fully anonymous but in fact, you can't.  Probably this is also related to Bitcoin since she was running her own coin and investors night invest using their Bitcoin.

That's a huge amount that has been confiscated, I hope those who had been victims will return the money to them because that's their money.  For sure there are more unrevealed amounts because the investigation is ongoing.  But my question is why the British authorities didn't disclose what cryptocurrency it is.
2050  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If you aren't reading you shouldn't be trading on: July 13, 2021, 05:25:10 PM
Trading needs a lot of reading and research, you should always be updated on the trend upcoming through the news forecast.  This belongs to the fundamental analysis, there could be an impact on the market price of what's news comes out and there are too many social media to subscribe regarding this matter.  Regarding the coins that you pick to trade, you should also know how engaging those developers are with the community of investors, it means the less activity it could be there's the chance that they had no progress and potentially becomes a shitcoin.

It's just as simple as the both goes hand in hand both for technical and fundamental analyst.
This...a very important when you're in a trading field.
2051  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME on: July 13, 2021, 04:26:13 PM
Any service asking you to deposit money first to be able to withdraw is a scam.
very true, never ever fell on that tricks @1truhp because it's a totally scam. In fact i have such experience when a telegram member ask me for a help to withdraw his funds but unfortunately he don't have money to unlock it so he's asking me if i can pay for it and he will give back my money with a tip. because he said that he needs to pay for something within the site before he can manage the entire amount. And yes he show me some proofs that he own such amount . But thanks god there's a Google and i found it out it was a fraud. Lol so be aware next time and stay away in it.
So this kind of strategy scam is very common in telegram because I experienced the same as you too.  I almost scam but it's a good thing I have a habit to always check the site when it requires transactions and "Who.is" is the perfect tool to use on determining how long the site has been in service, if that is fresh made account like weeks or days, that's another sign that the site is sam.

From the start, OP can sense that is a scam but he didn't do research first, sorry for @OP's loss and he just learned from this mistake and not let that will happen again.  We should always be vigilant at all costs rather than say sorry.
2052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: German Faketoshi is now arrested for his fraud on: July 13, 2021, 03:59:46 PM
He claimed to be a Co-Founder of Bitcoin, holding around 250,000 Bitcoin but never delievered a proof.
How many people in this world claim to be Satoshi but none of them can prove it, I am sad that many people believe his statement when they find out that he is a fake satoshi. Fortunately, anyone claiming to be a satoshi would be in trouble with the law for not being able to prove his identity as a real satoshi.
If you have noticed, all of them have a hidden agenda, they run something a business or any illegal activities.  How many of them claiming to be Satoshi, but none of them can prove that they are the real Satoshi but instead, they introduce and run their own projects.  How poor Satoshi always has been used people like this, they deserve that they got in jail and I hope those early people who claim Satoshi will also be arrested.

Good to see Andreas give a statement that he doesn't know that fraudster, a selfie image seems to be true as well, what's a good edit.
We hope that there are too many of them will get arrested, they molded a bad image on Bitcoin not only in Satoshi because it used in a Ponzi scheme or a giveaway scam.
2053  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bitcoin Faucet in 2011 on: July 12, 2021, 11:47:41 PM
The comment above was right, the first Bitcoin faucet was named, "The Bitcoin Faucet" and that was developed by Gavin Andresen.  I don't know how exactly the amount he gives but that is a whole number of Bitcoin.
Get 5 free bitcoins from freebitcoins.appspot.com. That is the thread in which was Gavin Andresen announces the first-ever Bitcoin faucet. Though I don't sure he named the faucet as "The Bitcoin Faucet".

I'm sure the picture that the OP posted is Gavin's faucets since the URL is exactly the same.
No, if you watch the video, it was coming from on this site "https://freebitcoins.appspot.com" which is now I can't open the site.

Oh, that's it, it means you will get 5 Bitcoin?  I can't imagine if there are generous people who are willing to run a Bitcoin faucet and give that big amount.  But AFAIK, there are still websites that still running a Bitcoin faucet.  Freebitco.in still giving free sats per hour.

Seeing those large amounts, how I wish I discovered Bitcoin that year, but unfortunately, I discovered it in the year 2017.
2054  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dissapointments of the creation of the thousands of failed altcoins. on: July 12, 2021, 11:35:27 PM
actually we have contribution to shitcoin project since we didn't care about project quality. there are alot good project that build their ecosystem and utility token , but we prefer invest in pump and dump coins. If we more care about the quality of project maybe fake dev team will have no idea to scam us
It could be also the reason thousands of failed altcoins are just because once they had already exited the scam, they keep coming back with a different name and other promises that will lure investors and scam again.  If we don't have proper research on it, we will always suffer from losing our investment.

I don't understand people why they give a chance a new project will potentially scam again, instead, you can give full support to Bitcoin and invest as many as you can since it is proven and tested when it comes investment, you're safe if you know how to be patient.
2055  Economy / Reputation / Re: Coolcryptovator's telegram impersonator. on: July 12, 2021, 11:21:19 PM
..now you just leave your old original username free, so any scammer can take it.
AFAIK, once that username was generated and created, there's no way that can take it.  It will always be there and as I saw, there's two Coolcryptovator user name in telegram now, the all upper case and the lower case username.

I'm trying to replace the uppercase username with a zero number, it also looks similar to the real Coolcryptovator that could be used by impersonators.

I think the only way is to contact first on Bitconintalk before dealing on Telegram.

Sorry to hear another person scammed today. Sadly he found me after getting a scam from my profile.
I don't know how they get scammed but I think, they don't blame you because if they had further research they won't end up like this.
2056  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Bitcoin Faucet in 2011 on: July 12, 2021, 10:54:01 PM
It's possible because back then that is a very small amount if you will be compared to the dollar.
The comment above was right, the first Bitcoin faucet was named, "The Bitcoin Faucet" and that was developed by Gavin Andresen.  I don't know how exactly the amount he gives but that is a whole number of Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin faucet before is really worth it because you can possibly get a large amount compared today because the value is very cheap.  But now, probably it will also worth it if we are in another 10 years of existence of Bitcoin but for now, is just wasting time for us.

How about a pizza guy that bought Pizza using Bitcoin?  That's a huge amount too, just because before the value of Bitcoin is very cheap.
2057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Securing Your Bitcoin with a Dead Man's Switch (In Case of Death) on: July 12, 2021, 04:29:45 PM
Remember that anything in online third-party services providers is also prone to hack and we don't know they still running their system very well after how many years.  So, I don't think this is a good idea, it might a terrible idea.

I would prefer to use traditional methods to hand over my bitcoin key to my next generation, through a legal will and a reputed law farm. A reputed law farm is least likely to scam you with your legal documents and that's the traditional method. This way, you will be safe from hackers as well as any online third party providers like Google.
It's very simple and I tend to agree with this, hire a professional lawyer that will organize and legalize your will.  This is the safest method to inherit your Bitcoin when you will pass away and your other assets aside from Bitcoin.  But all of us have preferences, if they think using Google to keep your Bitcoin safe, it's up to them, they are lucky enough once they didn't being scammed or the service provider will not stop in the future when the inheritance will need it.  You must think first about the possible consequences.
2058  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why people get merited without op being merit? on: July 12, 2021, 03:51:12 PM
Most times the topics are not deserving of merit some topics just seek clarification and the comments that supply the answers to such questions get merited. And secondly, merit is a subjective offer only the merit source knows the topics or content that appeal to them before they merit the content/post.
I tend to agree with it because it doesn't mean you created a topic and it deserves to get merit, still, it will vary how quality it is.  As repeatedly mentioned above, merit was subjected to the quality post that gives information, it doesn't matter if this is a reply or an OP thread.

It's being said by @DdmrDdmr above and it's explained very well, I hope this enlightened you now and try to give a better shot next to your posts and to potentially get merit.  If you keep making such a good and helpful discussion, you will never know that someday you will have merited one of your posts.
2059  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Trusted Bitcoin seller for PayPal? on: July 12, 2021, 03:24:50 PM
It's expected that most centralized exchanges required ID verification before you can buy and sell cryptocurrency or in Bitcoin, not unless, if you will choose decentralized exchange but I don't know if they are supported by Paypal which is Paypal is a centralized company and for sure any third-party decentralized exchange isn't allowed.

Alternatively, you can find transactions here in the forum from Paypal in exchange for Bitcoin, but of course, there's an escrow.  To avoid chargeback, it might good if the escrow will hold both the fund after several days (it sounds funny, how many days before the chargeback isn't effectively initiated) or why not you will use another method of payment not through Paypal.  IIRC, 180 days can still file a chargeback which is very risky using Paypal payment for the Bitcoin seller even though we use escrew.
2060  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com - Makes things difficult to send BTC, am I the only one? on: July 12, 2021, 02:44:41 PM
Unfortunately it's not possible to stop the browser from refreshing manually, because it's not a visible clear website refresh show in the browser title...
Have you tried using other devices or PC when you were login your account?  I suspected that it could be your device use and next is your internet connection.  To be honest, this is a rare issue and in fact, I just now heard about this, it's totally buggy site that's why I hate using web wallet.

there's no reason you to stay on that wallet, find a better wallet and follow what they said above.  Import your wallet into Electrum or any open-source wallet that supports BIP39 and it could compatible to import your seed phrase.

Quote
I'm gonna try to import my wallet and see what will happen, I'll gonna keep you guys updated.
Yes, please.
I just curious about this issue.  I open my eyes to this thread.
