2041  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [FREE] 3 BTC Raffle! on: May 28, 2013, 05:38:10 AM
Also, would you all prefer one 2 BTC winner, and one 1 BTC winner or  three 1 BTC winners?
Would end up with more happy campers if you gave 3-1BTC prizes and since it's free money they can't complain that they only got $130 instead of $390 Wink

2043  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockEnd.net - BitLotto Alternative? on: May 28, 2013, 03:37:55 AM
I don't think people will want to play on a new gambling site with no trust, considering how a previous and pretty trustworthy one ran.

We have had similar cases here back 1 yrago. *digging out that case, some what like send 0.25 each time*

https://blockchain.info/address/15yTy2CYLk1EEzAzUkTUR2HghPwPLWivGP <--- this one
Not sure what I'm looking at here... So that address sent out and received a lot of 0.25 BTC transactions but where were they going?

Ok, cool I figured I was doing something wrong

Thank piuk for the info and great service.
2045  Economy / Service Discussion / BlockChain.info unspent api on: May 26, 2013, 05:09:53 PM
Am I reading this wrong or do these return different results?

http://blockchain.info/unspent?active=1BLockgUZ45M3NDWmCfbptLRnmiFnHpF2b&format=html
http://blockchain.info/unspent?active=1BLockgUZ45M3NDWmCfbptLRnmiFnHpF2b

The format=html version appears to match the general address page https://blockchain.info/address/1BLockgUZ45M3NDWmCfbptLRnmiFnHpF2b However the json response appears to have incorrect tx_hashes.

Searching for the tx_hashes returns "Sorry we could not find any blocks or transactions matching this hash" http://blockchain.info/search?search=b9dca2e74e326ce89cf64934b06fe677826d47ed6b4510df0dc1e4d3b42e5af3

Am I reading something wrong here or is the api indeed returning incorrect results?
2046  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockEnd.net - Win Prize if TxID matches block hash. on: May 26, 2013, 07:12:43 AM
Only 22 blocks remain in Round 6, and there is a 93.75% (15/16) chance we will have a winner this time around.

As it stands right now "5" is the only ending without an entry current prize is 0.0836849BTC ($11.05)
Code:
Current Round Entries
0 = 1
1 = 1
2 = 2
3 = 2
4 = 3
5 =
6 = 3
7 = 2
8 = 3
9 = 2
a = 3
b = 1
c = 4
d = 1
e = 1
f = 3
Total = 32

Player vs Player (yes/no): yes
Provably Fair (yes/no): yes
Games: Lottery style
Edge%: not sure what the percentage is but it is small... there must be 50+ entries, and they must all lose while there are only 16 options, meaning there would have to be at least 3 entries to all except the winning digit

Hey stunna and guys, was wondering what plugins are needed for the site to run successfully? Tried it on firefox on Ubuntu and it says plugins needed are missing. Could that be a problem why I have rendering issues?
There should be no plugins needed at all, as long as you have JavaScript enabled
2050  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting | Free BTC on: May 20, 2013, 06:22:52 AM
* In my bet history, show me the server and client seeds per bet, so I can verify them later.  Otherwise I have to make a note for each bet.
In the bet history click the bet # and it appears in a tooltip
2051  Economy / Gambling / Re: PrimeDice.com | The New Way to Roll | 1% House | Instant Betting | Free BTC on: May 20, 2013, 05:59:55 AM
Suggestion:

In case of api_bet.php, return JSON response and parse it client side. Current setup is in-efficient, has repeated HTML, higher use of bandwidth.

As more players are now playing, the website is getting slower, you should consider more powerful servers or make the code efficient.

Same can be said for show_balance.php, it returns HTML. Return just the balance value and set it using javascript.
I was just looking at that as well, and agree those suggestions should be implemented.

Right now it's taking approximately 9 animations of the bet button before the result is returned
The webpage itself is also very slow compared to yesterday according to Chrome it spent 6.27 seconds awaiting the request for http://primedice.com then started to load the page content

Edit: Additionally is it you who owns the .net/.org and other variants or will it not be long before fakes come around trying to skim coins off your success?

2053  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockEnd.net - Win Prize if TxID matches block hash. on: May 20, 2013, 04:54:03 AM
Once more a round goes by winner-less leaving behind a current prize of 0.0656849 BTC rolling over to round 6 which will end at block 238,000.
A spreadsheet containing the entrants can be found at http://blockend.net/index.php/past-rounds/11-round-5
2054  Economy / Gambling / Re: BlockEnd.net - Win Prize if TxID matches block hash. on: May 18, 2013, 07:20:21 AM
Rounds 3 & 4 both had no winners... Round 5 in progress running to target block 237,000 with a prize pool of 0.065 BTC ($8.12 USD) at the time of writing.

I decided for the fun of it to run through the block chain and count up all the hash endings to see if any where neglected or if it's fairly uniform and the results I found suggest the distribution is fairly uniform and there is an equal chance of winning with any ending to your transaction.

Code:
Blocks ending in 0 = 14740
Blocks ending in 1 = 15022
Blocks ending in 2 = 15045
Blocks ending in 3 = 14989
Blocks ending in 4 = 14847
Blocks ending in 5 = 14631
Blocks ending in 6 = 14755
Blocks ending in 7 = 14837
Blocks ending in 8 = 14739
Blocks ending in 9 = 14536
Blocks ending in a = 14822
Blocks ending in b = 14688
Blocks ending in c = 14884
Blocks ending in d = 14620
Blocks ending in e = 14787
Blocks ending in f = 14773
236715 Blocks analyzed.

Your font is being blocked by google Chrome, in the url replace 'http://' with '//' the browser will then intelligently choose http/https

It would be my preference to see the entries rolled over to the next round, If you did roll over perhaps put an asterisk next to the entrants  that have been rolled over ?

For tx fee I suggest using the default 0.0005 BTC fee.

I do have 1 small concern, say you get several big bets of 1 btc each.
Then a clever player decides to make 100 bets at 0.0001 each.

The clever player would have a far greater chance of collecting the price at a reduced cost.

edit: after re-reading your FAQ it seems there are only 16 possible results 0-F so I guess the example I gave above is unlikely to be profitable often which such a small result range.
Alright, rolling over insignificant entries was what I was leaning towards so I'll go with that. A note distinguishing rollovers is a good idea as well, will do.

As for your clever player in addition to that the player making a bet at 0.0001 is likely still paying a tx fee, and when that is paid 100 times there is quite a lot of overhead to the method since the fee is 5 times their entry.

Realistically though I believe you are better off making multiple moderately sized entries than one large dump or too small of an entry either.
2057  Economy / Gambling / Re: mem's BITCOIN GAMBLING LIST on: May 13, 2013, 04:53:18 AM
shit really, Id better make my bet now !

Bet made, can you tell me what the min and max bets are ?

There are none for either.

Since the prize comes purely from the entries it is simply the entries being paid back out to the winner.
No BTC are put in by the service itself so winnings can never exceed the current balance of the account resulting in being unable to pay back rewards.

One thing to note is that the transaction fee to send out the winnings is deducted from the balance prior to distribution.

A couple things yet to be decided, perhaps you could assist?

In the odd event that the prize cannot cover the transaction fee I have 2 possibilities under consideration...
1) I front the fee and distribute a minuscule amount of coins to the winners.
2) The entries simply roll over to the next round until the prize pool is large enough

The next thing I have to narrow down is what transaction fee should I put on the prize distribution.

Clarification as to my use of the term "transaction fee" when distributing winnings: that is the bitcoin network fee to the miners not a fee that BlockEnd gets to keep.

It would be great if you could either add http://blockend.net to your list or if not offer me some feedback as to how it can be improved and subsequently added to said list.

Currently:
Min bet is 1 satoshi... lol
Max bet is not applicable so it can be anything
Provably fair all results are on the blockchain

Hi bitspill, if you want to hurry things up a bit chat with me on gmail talk - (mem.namefix at gmail.com).

I'll have a look during my lunch break and will reply shortly.

edit: ok this is a nice simple idea, I like it. Nice to see previous rounds and complete FAQ addressing my usual questions.
I shall give it a try and report back shortly.

Sounds good, and we are soon to be upon the end of Round 3 with block 235,000 right around the corner. (234,917 as of this writing)
