Please clean your CPU fan before your computer blows up! All that dust!

Don't worry I have a H100 in my computer right now.

I guess the price hike is quite good for people like me who wan't to sell their gpus.
2063  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 3 * HD 7990 + other Kit on: December 14, 2013, 04:19:22 PM
Would you be willing to accept £349 delivered to the UK for the Asus Radeon 7990? Scan was selling them a few weeks back for £399 delivered and they came with free 1000w psus and some even came with free motherboards.

Thanks
no sorry
i have had a few offers well over that price
Scan did have them but not any more
these are VERY hard to find in the UK for under £700

Can you give me an idea of what the offers were?

Supply and Demand..... Along with a Declining Dollar........   basic economics.....

Very true. I wonder how long it will take before the prices start coming down.

Any movement on this? I've had no luck for quite a while now.
Do you use jhPrimeminer from 'external miner released' thread?

I used the one in this guide: https://cryptocointalk.com/topic/1630-guide-how-to-mine-datacoin-using-digital-ocean/ which I believe on git could be found here: https://github.com/foo1inge/datacoin-hp

Cryptsy stability sucks. Maybe we vote for BTC-E and vircurex.

BTC-E always takes some time before they add new currencies. XPM had the exact same problem and it took a while before BTC-E accepted it.
2069  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: We are the reason behind the latest AMD GPU Price Increase on: December 11, 2013, 07:10:09 PM
it's officially insane.
7950s are being resold by authorized sellers for $400+
7970s are going for about $500

and the r9 280x's have had several price hikes approaching $300.

lol

insanity

we need price of alt currencies to plummet

Yeah, I was extremely surprised how much my 7950 was worth. I think that it might be a potential step towards more money being spent on development of mining hardware. I'm pretty sure that a lot of people including myself would prefer if alt currencies went up rather than plummeted. Just out of interest are you a gamer? I'm pretty sure that a lot of gamers and maybe even some system builders aren't extremely happy with the price increase.

No, please.  Don't do it.

Cryptsy has enough big problems with data outside DataCoin. Smiley

I'm pretty sure that they weren't be adding any new coins till the problems are fixed. The addition of cryptsy would give datacoin a lot more credibility.
2072  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: We are the reason behind the latest AMD GPU Price Increase on: December 11, 2013, 06:54:06 PM

Today I learned that people still mine Bitcoins with GPU's.

I think it's more media being a little bit uneducated. I personally think that most of these gpus are being used for Litecoin mining or other scrypt currencies.
2073  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / We are the reason behind the latest AMD GPU Price Increase on: December 11, 2013, 06:47:46 PM
Over the last few days, I have been looking for an upgrade to my 7950 so I decided to check ebay to see if a crossfire option would be a good way to go but I saw that for some reason the used gpu's were nearly as expensive as new ones and they were a lot more expensive then when I bought my 7950 open box. After realizing that I might as well sell my 7950 I went looking for other options and when I decided that a r9 290 was the way to go since my friend recently bought one and the mining/gaming performance was quite good I went looking for deals online. As it turned the MSI R9 290 that my friend bought a week ago for £311 new was now £332. So I started researching why the price suddenly increased and as it turns out much to my surprise it was us miners who were behind the price increase and although it was my first thought I didn't think we made that much of a difference to the gpu market share.

So what do you guys think about this? Should AMD make a crazy overkill mining gpu? I mean Nvidia did make a crazy gaming gpu that was a little bit on the expensive side aka TITAN.

P.S MODS I'M NOT SURE IF THIS THE RIGHT PLACE FOR THIS SO PLEASE MOVE IT IF IT ISN'T.
2074  Other / Meta / Split from: [WTB] Bitcointalk accounts on: December 11, 2013, 05:36:11 PM
Selling accounts is not disallowed.

Is there an official reason why? Seems silly that it's allowed or even tolerated.

They can't control it so there is no point of even trying to ban it. It would take a lot of time to look for alt accounts and you can quite easily disguise an alt account using things such as vpns.
2075  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] BF4 gamecode on: December 06, 2013, 07:08:22 PM
I got an brand new R9 280X card in today and it includes a Battlefield 4 code that I want to sell.
I would like 0.022 BTC for it so please PM me if you are interested.

Is it region free?

Bumping again. A lot of voters on Cryptsy, but still no response from them  Angry

They are probably still busy with deposits problems.
2077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [DATACOIN] Please vote for DTC on Cryptsy! on: December 03, 2013, 04:41:26 PM
Voted! Let's hope they added it and the price rises.

I think you can point jhProtominer at Datacoin-qt, not sure.

If anyone wants to try:

Help -> Debug console -> Console and type in: setgenerate true 0

Then point the miner at the ip:port.

Will test aswell soon

-mstfck

I tried to point jhProtominer at a local datacoind without luck. I am trying all this stuff on linux CLI, and don't have a QT wallet built yet as I am on a mac.

All the versions of jhProtominer that I found are trying to use the "x.pushthrough(xpt) protocol" , I thought DTC required the getwork method now?

just now - yes, only getwork.

Would that mean that a whole new miner has to be built or....?
2079  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Datacoin] DTC just hit Coins-E! on: December 03, 2013, 04:36:16 PM
look at the depth there. that tell it all. people not trade much with CoinE because they have problem with it.

Max - I suggest you use the site for a few trades then come back here with your opinion.

Thank you for updating! Smiley
Yes, I looked into coins-e. So I'll be bumping my post with voting on Cryptsy

I really hope Cryptsy accepts it because the price has pretty much halved since this weekend.
2080  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Datacoin] DTC just hit Coins-E! on: December 02, 2013, 07:50:01 PM
oh yeah, that's great!
Already 3 exchange on it. Missing only cryptsy (and btc-e Smiley )

We can wait with Cryptsy - they really have problems. I don't blame - I know what is high load and what issues can it cause (Cryptsy doesn't manage with them bad, really, comparing to websites of some big and rich corporations  Wink ). So no need to get DTC there until they fix problems.

BTC-E , yeah, and you forgot mtgox ! Cheesy

No offence but even litecoin didn't manage to get onto MtGox. They make fake promises and terrible excuses to why it still hasn't been done.
