I m disappointed the renaming has been decided without any further discussion. I would have recommended not to be so restricted about the naming of this gem and concentrate more on an open discussion without enforcing an early decision. But i couldn t even finish my post until it was done. A little too fast i think with a little too less consideration.

To my mind "XC" does well as an abbrevation but as a name it s not working. It s not fluent (how could it be without a vowel) and it would be a rather bumpy word in every conversation. Under marketing aspects this coin definitely has an unsexy name. If you don t care about marketing that might not appear to be problem but a coin with this success story needs a professional branding. Everything else would be irresponsible.

Big problem: the X. If you stick to this letter you have a very limited choice as there are not that many words beginning with it, right now "Xeno" or "Xent" (oh no, reminds me of Cents so forget it ^^ ) comes to my mind but it still sounds that little bit too fierce because of the sharp "X". The other proposals, with all respect, sound as artificially constructed as mine because it s just hard to find a (compound) word with this capital letter.

I would have recommended to restart with new ideas, focus on the main features/benefits of this coin and find a fitting brand with no restrictions to its current naming.

We all are more and more getting the idea of how big this one could be. This one definitely would have needed a professional designer with a relevant skill set to ensure a proper brand identity. This premature decision might reflect the current rush but it might not be the best for the coin's future marketability and competitivness.

I couldn't disagree more. First, it was unanimous that people wanted XC, just look a the reaction when it was changed. This means that the dev made the right call and listened to the community.

Second, I have no problem coming up with marketing ideas already. Also, people on Twitter have taken note of XC and like it.

Anyways the change has been made , we need to move on and develop the community as well as get projects going.

Thank You, I'm trying g to promote the hell out of this because it has potential. Pluus, I really want to give back.

Yea!  Have no one know what "XC" stands for -- just another layer of its anonymity.   Grin

I understand that you are upset your name want chosen but the general feeling within the community was that we should go with XC. The dev did what was right and went with the community feedback.

? I'm not upset.  I am being serious up here ^

I like XC more than my suggestion.  I was just throwing out ideas earlier.  Smiley

OK well in that case I'm happy and I see that we could actually use that as a marketing point. Either way my point still stands it seems like the dev is here to stay and listen to feedback.

X11Coin officially renamed to XC  Grin

Great, I tried to push hard for this. So what do you think of the simplistic logo, I posted above?
1626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XC] -POW & 3.33% POS | 3 Exchanges | The first POS X11 anonymous wallet on: May 26, 2014, 10:18:37 PM
My suggestion:

X-Caliber (XC)

X defined as: an unknown quantity / anonymous
Caliber defined as: degree of merit or excellence

This is to suggest that the merit/excellence of XC is unknown, or infinite (in a positive sense -- as the brilliant dev + coin's revolutionary innovation with such limited supply will create the image of a prestigious/ premium/ exclusive coin).

Also, there is a word play with the ancient mythical relic, Excalibur, which is the legendary sword of King Arthur and is sometimes attributed with magical powers or associated with the rightful sovereignty of Great Britain.  Which we can draw parallels from, as XC is the coin with revolutionary innovation and the potential to gain "sovereignty" in the altcoin world.

Bump.  Any thoughts?

Sorry but I'm a strong believer in just XC.

Sorry for the spamming, I couldn't help myself.

snip

I'm thinking this is the direction to take, unfortunately I haven't gone back through all the posts yet and the current logo could be easily adjusted for this change

I love the fact that when you came back the price rose by 10%.

Also, I think that we should change the name to just xc and have the name as the logo.

For example (light logo and dark logo|)

By they way get on Twitter and start promoting XC.

DRK down, this is our time to shine

DRK is broken... prepare yourselves for critical mass.
Roll Eyes

Why is it broken?

Forked.

this shitcoin launched with anon claims and cant deliver, look at that xc coin i wish i would have chosen that over this liberty shit.
ive had enough im out of this coin.

I won't lie I dumped everyone of my dirty filthy Libertycoins for XC.

5 minutes reading you can tell it's legit and has active development. Not a pump and dump like certain coins on this board.

EDIT: What did XCcoin DEV delivered beside pdf files that are not of his own research and a coinmixer that TIPS already have for 2 months now?

His identity that proves his experience unlike the XLB dev who has none.

You mean his bitcointalk.org username proves his identity and that he qualifies as a experienced coder?

No his actually identity and resume has been made public.

Can't find it anywhere...

How much of this dev work is going to be open source? What's to stop the competition just ripping off all the ideas?

^ Not trolling, serious question.

Part of DRK's success has been no-one being able to clone dark send easily due to it being closed source for now.

The dev is not here at the moment, I'm sure that he will be wiling to answer this soon.

I wonder who customized the layout on http://www.reddit.com/r/XCofficialreddit/  Wink

Looking good, though the top image of the XC is a bit blurry for me, i will get it 200+ subscribers tomorrow, so it can get added to the altcoin list.

what's your screen res?

1360x768

weird it looks fine on 1080p

Not sure, maybe its because I am using an old pc, just checked on my mining rig, the xc logo is slightly blurry like it has small blocks around letters, but I think that might because i sit on photoshop staring at pixels most of the time, if its looks fine for you on your pc then it should be okay :-)

That could be some .jpeg compression issues, I've noticed what you mean. Let me try to fix this.

edit: TRY NOW.

Perfect :-)

Just like I thought, jpeg issues.

We're doing pretty well given XC's jump to fame.
we survived every fucking shitclone so far, won't be different this time.
Wonder how the DRK issue will affect this all. A lot seemded buy back into BC and of course some other scum takes it as an opportunity to dump on them like hell.

Have you even looked into XC? It has a real developer with a great resume including being CEO of a major company.
Since when is it important who clones a coin? I did not say that there is no development by the way, although i would not be surprised if there is way more marketing that actual functionality.

Actually XC is not a clone, just because it uses pos. The anon system was developed by the dev team from scratch, there is a lot functionality and you would have known that if you read the papers provided.
