I think before we go out and promote the coin, the logo has to be changed to a more professional look like how other coins such as darkcoin,blackcoin made it look so good . This a contest that CoinAlliance is ruining for all coins. |

sry for bringing this up again, but I do not understand the minting process, I have updated wallet, but it still wont Stake my XC... expected time is a couple of minutes, every time, but they never stake  I see others have such issues too, yes ofc I have unlocked it, I have been staking other coins with no issues as well I got a stake this afternoon |

Agree. But maybe they know it won't matter. Maybe they don't have long term plans. Hope I'm wrong though. I think the XC is perfect sorry but so do a lot of people here. Also, I'm not part of the team just to make that clear. I believe that judging from the future roadmap the dev has laid out, he has future long term plans. Edit: ^ Well there you go |

I won't lie I dumped everyone of my dirty filthy Libertycoins for XC. 5 minutes reading you can tell it's legit and has active development. Not a pump and dump like certain coins on this board. EDIT: What did XCcoin DEV delivered beside pdf files that are not of his own research and a coinmixer that TIPS already have for 2 months now? His identity that proves his experience unlike the XLB dev who has none. You mean his bitcointalk.org username proves his identity and that he qualifies as a experienced coder? No his actually identity and resume has been made public. Can't find it anywhere... Are you kidding me? I am going to stop arguing for reduction of coins or a largely extended PoW period. I feel that very solid arguments are on the table and the dev is capable of making his own decisions, of which I support no matter what. I mean, seriously. actsecure is Dan Metcalf -- hes a legendary C programmer, probably better than every dev of every alt coin combined.
That being said, while he may be an expert in coding. I am a financial analyst with a degree in finance & economics. He may know how to create a coin (and probably one better than anyone else), but I know how to read markets and perform coin valuations.

I m disappointed the renaming has been decided without any further discussion. I would have recommended not to be so restricted about the naming of this gem and concentrate more on an open discussion without enforcing an early decision. But i couldn t even finish my post until it was done. A little too fast i think with a little too less consideration.
To my mind "XC" does well as an abbrevation but as a name it s not working. It s not fluent (how could it be without a vowel) and it would be a rather bumpy word in every conversation. Under marketing aspects this coin definitely has an unsexy name. If you don t care about marketing that might not appear to be problem but a coin with this success story needs a professional branding. Everything else would be irresponsible.
Big problem: the X. If you stick to this letter you have a very limited choice as there are not that many words beginning with it, right now "Xeno" or "Xent" (oh no, reminds me of Cents so forget it ^^ ) comes to my mind but it still sounds that little bit too fierce because of the sharp "X". The other proposals, with all respect, sound as artificially constructed as mine because it s just hard to find a (compound) word with this capital letter.
I would have recommended to restart with new ideas, focus on the main features/benefits of this coin and find a fitting brand with no restrictions to its current naming.
We all are more and more getting the idea of how big this one could be. This one definitely would have needed a professional designer with a relevant skill set to ensure a proper brand identity. This premature decision might reflect the current rush but it might not be the best for the coin's future marketability and competitivness.
I couldn't disagree more. First, it was unanimous that people wanted XC, just look a the reaction when it was changed. This means that the dev made the right call and listened to the community. Second, I have no problem coming up with marketing ideas already. Also, people on Twitter have taken note of XC and like it. Anyways the change has been made , we need to move on and develop the community as well as get projects going. With all respect for your work, the brand identy of this coin has not been given sufficient consideration. I was more referencing to future work because I totally agree this just the beginning. |
