I've read this somewhere; The currencies that succeed, are not those that circumvent the state, but rather those that are legitimised by the state.
But it is a known fact that, Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency. Free from government interference and manipulation.

Okay, so let's put some context on this: I've been watching the USA Politics for a while now. I live in the UK. I see a lot of what's happening over there seep over into our shores too. Particularly with the politicising of identity and the crazy ravines between two-party leaderships. I've always been left of centre. Dems would probably these days call me a sexist racist, and some republicans would probably call me a loony lefty. Truth be told I'm more centre ground and like ideas from both parties. Because I'm central I seem less and less able to connect with either party on any sort of issue. The more I discuss one topic then it's assumed that if I don't agree with the person I'm discussing it with then I'm obviously from "the other side." It's forcing a lot of us centralists to pick sides when usually we wouldn't. Alas, I'm sticking to my normal left-of-centre beliefs. I won't let anyone dictate to me what I should think or what I should believe. Now I've been hanging in crypto communities for a looong time now. I may be Jr Member but don't let that fool you into how long I've been around in this sphere. As I've said before. I like to read, rather than chat. This is changing though now that I'm beginning to spearhead my own projects. That being said I've met people from all over the world in all denominations and party affiliates from all backgrounds - and the beautiful thing is that in most communities I have been in we don't let our Politics divide us. We have goals - and I firmly believe that which connects us is far more powerful than what divides us. I love that in crypto we all share a powerful goal. Protectionism is only going to hurt the USA, as more and more the global market will simply bypass the country. The only net effect that can come out from this, is less and less trade for Americans, a wealth source that will move elsewhere, hopefully emerging markets.
Trump is thinking 50+ years in the past, but the world simply doesn't function like that anymore. Sure it is an opportunity for the rest of us, but i don't think Americans will enjoy these policies for long, especially when they start feeling more and more the negative effects.
As for universal income, that is only a source of inflation. If everyone suddenly has 10k every month, what you used to do with 10k will now cost 20k. Instead of dreaming of earning money without working, worry more about having plenty of jobs (or entrepreneurial opportunities) so you have a better chance to work less for more.
