Man this is ridiculous to see. I feel poisoned when I see these kind of activities but I had too much with people saying I am hypocrite/exchanging words with these abusers/discouraging words from some people around here etc. May be this is going to be my last rabbit hole digging:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4330297.0 <=== Calling out [staff] xandry for an explanation: Thank you

Good finding by the way. Good job.

Glad to see you here mate, the PM sender already mentioned your name to me. As you can see from the conversation I do not have the right to disclose his/her user information.
2103  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Wapinter related with Scam? Why he repeat to promote ICO with fake team ? on: June 21, 2018, 12:18:16 PM
Just because the managers do research, doesn't mean participants should not do their own research anymore (I have discussed that recently with mdayonliner).
Likewise, a manager cannot take themselves out of responsibility by claiming all research has to be done by participants, they should do their own due diligence as well,
as they put their reputation on the line with the positions they take on.

If all three groups (mangers, participants, investors) of people do sufficient and independent research, scams can be found and stopped way earlier than right now,
because the more people check a project, the more likely bad apples like these get found both quickly and reliably.
I totally go with you after the conversation I had with you however I will say the managers part is very important because he dealt with the project team first hand. A manager should need to develop a sense of detecting good and bad (trying to scam) project.

As a participant my experience is...
It's really hard to find a good project. On top of it, a percipient has 100s of projects if not 1000s to chose one. Now, when the number is large of course the person feel overwhelmed, and how much research (especially extensive research) s/he can do? Also you feel uncomfortable in most of them (projects) when you see newbies/members with no good record in the forum posting sig campaign topics.

So to me, the filtering criteria is... Go with a manager who has good reputation, who already proved him/her in the community etc. Of-course don't forget to do your own part (a little research) once you get accepted.

Now come to as an investor: When I am paying money out of my pocket (even if it's a penny), I will definitely make sure that I am not going to lose it. Although in reality most of the time it works the opposite LOL. Scammers are making money out of people.
2104  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: If OgNasty is a scammer... then who can you really trust on Bitcointalk?! on: June 21, 2018, 10:30:19 AM

Compare here...

The case here is you sent PM to yourself, not to OG. So OG never received your PM in BitcoinTalk I guess.

I do not know about the rest however I thought this clue may calm down the OP a bit.

update:
Noticed after making my post (this one). Well lucky you. I am glad that OgNasty is clean as s/he suppose to be.

...my bet where i said i would leave if BTC went over $10k ever again and he would give me his job if it went below $6k

While (true)
    Censorship(BTC);
Did you have a time frame? If not then achow101 still has his time.

And BTC still not yet below $6k even if it goes under $6k then what's wrong with it? I would not mind even BTC to drop 3k or below. I would be staking as much as I can then. You seems like a bit better version of digaran with some extra sense, that's all.
2106  Other / Meta / Re: Who hosts Bitcoin Talk? on: June 21, 2018, 10:01:09 AM
I was looking for this coz my memory was saying, theymos had a reply in one of the topic. Well-done Crypto_Sassy

Bitcoin.org:

Good reading. Thanks for the links.

But IMO people should respect that Satoshi want to stay anonymous and what they're doing is huge disrespect.
It's in our nature to know the unknown especially when someone/something is top secret. By the way, I do feel the same like you. We need to give him (Satoshi) his space.
2108  Other / Meta / Re: How does one start their activity on Bitcointalk? on: June 21, 2018, 09:49:25 AM
Why do you need to become a Junior Member to post an Announcement? So you can post images? If so, you can purchase the a Copper Membership for this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2385104.msg24371150#msg24371150

@OP,
Also make sure you follow bellow after the payment confirmation. I have seen people created topic wondering what to do after purchasing Copper Membership.

Once you have it, you get the choice:

Relax dude. I ain't saying you are doing anything wrong. At least, not yet. All I am saying is that this could also become outlawed in future and those who participated in it punished in backdate like account sales are now. A few years ago before I joined this forum account sale was not frown upon.
Sorry mate, my bad. Seems like I was smoking week  Tongue

I understand now. I guess it's not the same like the account selling. I never like this rule of having alt account. If there were not alt accounts then there were less cases of account selling IMO.

But it is a crime today, remember.
- I am fairly new to the community (only since December 14th, 2017) however yes, I have noticed before it was an easy taking thing.

By the way, sorry again mate for misunderstanding you earlier.

One, two, three people are renting their signature space to higher biddings and not wanting to belong to signature campaigns. The way this is going it will soon be the reigning thing here. I hope this act doesn't become a crime or a tagging offence later in this forum the way "Account Sales" has become now.
reigning thing here, a crime or a tagging offence, "Account Sales"...

What are you smelling mate? What is the harm if I am doing a signature campaign and still looking for a better offer. If I get a better one then I will inform my current service provider before leaving the current one. What's wrong with that?
2115  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 20, 2018, 06:48:01 PM
I'm happy if posts range from acceptable to good, better, excellent  (and nullius). If I see a new user with good posts, I don't want him to be limited in any way by a system that was introduced to stop the worst of the worst spammers.
I did not have excellent and especially nullius in mind by the way  Tongue
2116  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 20, 2018, 06:15:59 PM
There is already a process - merit source applicants need to post a thread in Meta, theymos needs to review it. Not sure if he's not reviewing, not finding suitable applicants, not seeing the need for more than 80, but I don't see how a Legendary vote would fix that.
I even seen a list created by someone, I can't find it now though. In that list I have seen several applicants, may be 15 to 20 (?)

I am not sure but I feel like this Legendary voting will create a mess.
2117  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 20, 2018, 04:00:15 PM
We need a lot of Merit sources, it may take a while but currently, Merit faucet has dried up. The standards of people giving merits are so damn high. People don't merit normal posts, they merit high quality posts. That needs to be taken care of, to be honest. Otherwise, this ranking wouldn't work for what it was intended.
I kinda like this. The higher the standards the better contents we will see in the future. throwing up 50 merits for a single line post seems very annoying and it happened a lot at the early stage of merit introduction.

Anyway whatever happens, it's actually pretty clear that we need more merit sources. I hope theymos has the same idea in mind or may be a better one.
2118  Other / Meta / Re: Merit for helping on moderating the forum (?!) on: June 20, 2018, 03:49:55 PM
You're talking about disrespect above. That is what I'm trying to say: there's no disrespect here. Most likely he just doesn't have an opportunity to be informed.
I see. Ok, you have a point now and I understand it. Thank you for pointing out.

I just wanted to say that expectation could be very long and it's unlikely to be reduced by bumping. All the rest is up to you.
I have no problem in waiting... Let's see how it goes.
2119  Other / Meta / Re: Has the Merit faucet dried up? Solutions? on: June 20, 2018, 03:22:14 PM
What do you guys think?
My mind is blank after responding to this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4330297.msg40528258#msg40528258

By the way I can assure you that I have no complaint against the entire merit system.

PS: Hang on, I will try to put some feedback once I have a fresh mind.
  • select a few merit sources that are interested in these topics and regularly posts there for a better distribution of merits

I also feel that we need more merit sources (may be). There are already a long list of applications for merit source like pugman, babo etc. I believe adding few of them would increase the possibility of  sMerit circulation.
2120  Other / Meta / Re: Merit for helping on moderating the forum (?!) on: June 20, 2018, 03:18:01 PM
You think I am lacking common sense here?

In fact I can't understand why do you expect to see any reaction by changing thread titles, bumping and so on, since I doubt that xandry even knows about this thread's existence.
This is the exact reason I am doing all these, to get his attention.

I doubt that he spents any time browsing Meta to see it.
- Do not need to know if he does or does not. All I care his response either seeing it in meta or anyone inform him or he search using his username to see his mentions.

I doubt that he reads Russian topics where people discussed it to be informed.
- Again I do not care, however I do believe him to spend some time on seeing what community is doing here and there. He is a staff for a reason especially when he has a job to look after his local board.

I even doubt that he saw your private message (since he has got so many of them that they lie in his box for months accumulating - for example, I send him some message in february, but recieved his reply only a few days ago).
Again all these efforts to get his attention. I understand he is a busy person and being a staff for a forum like this is not easy job to handle.

As he wrote earlier he's too busy even to read the "service" threads. So I assume you'd better be patient if you really want him to response.
Don't you see my patience yet? Or you are missing something here. May 29, 2018 to till now I am waiting and I will wait until I hear back from you.
