Buy NXT now, that's what now.
2106  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 03, 2014, 02:59:54 PM
So, exactly, at what price is NXT cheap? Smiley
2107  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Aren't people bored of NEM yet? on: June 03, 2014, 02:41:47 PM
all PoS coins bore me

low security pyramid schemes is what they are.

PoW may not be good for environment and whatnot but for security it is a must.

On the contrary, PoS is more secure.

A big entity can buy enough hardware to run a 51% attack on PoW coins.

No entity can buy 51% of the PoS coins to perform the attack, coz that would drive the price above all imaginable levels, and by then that coin would gain world reserve currency status Smiley

So is this an actual new code base or is it using Bitcoin code somehow?

Meaning did they recode from scratch?

My understanding is they coded it from scratch, or perhaps took some code from Bytecoin, which is the first coin based on that new algo, but it didn't take off for various reasons. Well, at least big chunks of the code should be coded from scratch, as it's pretty different from Bitcoin and its forks.

Excuse my ignorance but what is a "MRO" or "Monero"?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=583449.0

no stable GUI yet though, it's a new code, GUI is just being developed, only command line wallet is available.

Has anyone tried reaching out to Mullick?

Watch this,

HEY MULLICK

What's up with NXT?

~BCX~

I sent him a pm with my ticket number 3 days ago, didn't get a reply. Here is the ticket number again #138365 in case he gets interested. But I don't expect it. There must be some sort of selective service to customers going on.

I just opened a new ticket with them, it was closed almost immediately without a reply. I wonder what I should choose from their customer survey Smiley

At this point I consider those NXTs lost and will be notifying you guys on how long I have been waiting for my withdrawal every day. Just to raise awareness.
2115  Other / Archival / Re: deleted by request on: June 03, 2014, 04:45:24 AM
Wow,

I must really be lucky as I have had no issues what so ever with Cryptsy.

I just moved a bunch of NXT to and from Cryptsy with no problem.

Have you guys tried their customer service, they always respond rather quickly for me.

~BCX~

Of course, that was the first thing I tried. I have a few tickets opened with them.

9 days waiting, no withdrawal. Is Cryptsy insolvent on NXT?

...what are you suggestions to avoid security risks?

Thanks.

Dedicated server only. No VPS, no other shared environment. The whole server dedicated to you and only accessible by you. Best of all if nobody has physical access to it as well, co-located in a datacenter and locked in a cage that only you have keys to. I mean, that's as secure as it can get, apart from getting your own small datacenter or just running a server from your basement Smiley
2119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: June 02, 2014, 06:31:34 PM

that's very optimistic Smiley
2120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 02, 2014, 06:30:02 PM
I have one question.
Wasn't there a problems running NXT software on VPS because of security risk?
I remember in the long locked thread people were advised to not keep the wallet open and forge on VPS
as this was described as insecure.
Huh

Can someone deny (clarify) this?
Thanks.

There is some risk, that's why I posted a safe way of doing it Smiley
