2123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin TODO on: January 12, 2014, 05:53:20 AM
And I doubt anyone has more than 1%, even pools, as ixCoin was seen as such a plague - I think every large holder dumped iXcoin on any price spike since it always looked like it was gonna die any second.  That's a good thing and it explains why there are never any huge sellers - as there are no real large holders.  This coin is perfectly set up to skyrocket if demand ever spikes.  Another thing the so called Wall Street bankers should see in this coin, which no other coin has, as most/all other alts were accumulated heavily by just a few people early on.

Cause even though ixCoin was cheap, nobody except Vlad and maybe one or two other random secretive guys accumulated any meaningful amount and that was because iXcoin always looked dead last and a coin ready to die and be forgotten.  So I can't imagine anyone have the conviction to buy and hold more than 1% when there were always coins with a much better appearance.  Vlad had a crazy conviction about this coin but it was in isolated event I think so besides him I really doubt anyone has a really large amount of coins - including the wannabe dev, Thomas the Crook.

^Great summary about Ix: Then, Now and the future.

I'm relatively new in the crypto game, i got into the game around the news about silk road.

I know a lot about every alt-coin, iXcoin has always been a gigantic mystery to me. After reading several pages on this thread..
I'm sold about iX, more then Nxt, which was my favorite alt-coin.

P.S.
The windows client needs to be updated.

I think people are waking up to the idea that NXT is the only real contender to BTC.

+1

So in a few words.

Fuserleer (Lead of eMunie) used to be a big scammer, this is pretty much a fact from the evidence in this forum.

Now the question is, has he reformed himself? What made him change? Is it even possible to do a heist on this scale?
2128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DOGE volume almost $1,000,000 on: January 12, 2014, 02:31:10 AM
doge will never be taken seriously. What's happening right now is manipulation of the markets via pump and dump.

A lot of money is to be made by real astute investors and a lot of money will be lost by your average man

Why, because of the name? Then Bitcoin is also really a name that sucks. Are we selling bites, what is it, computers? Daddy, can you give me a bitcoin, What do you say, my child, do you want a pc? Come on, bitcoin name sucks too. Marketing around Dogecoin is good, and do you know how many products do you buy in the shop with a silly name? When i go shopping then i have a lot of products with silly names, as long as quality is good, i will not complain.

No, the whole concept around doge was based around a joke. An internet MEME fad, based around the clowns on reddit and other social media sites.

Doge will last no longer then 3-6 more months. If it does end up having value in the future, it will be purely cosmetic or in the state of being manipulated by the majority holders.

I fully respect it though, in-genius marketing that has shed a lot of positive light and generated mass exposure for all digital currencies.

Besides small errors or bugs, has anyone found a critical* flaw in this code?
2132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: -- The Vlad is Back - iXcoin on Track for ~$10 on: January 12, 2014, 12:13:59 AM
and what's the reason it will get to $10 dolla?

It doesn't seem to have any support anymore - as far as these forums go -

(and yes, i've already invested in iX)
2133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [SHS] Shares [Second Generation Crypto Currency] [Project Announcement] on: January 12, 2014, 12:06:09 AM
Don´t think that because you refunded the guys that were shouting here with big mouth, you can get away with this thing. You better start refunding all the others too!

In full as well. He's thinking that refunding some of each investors' BTC will satisfy them and cause them to quiet down. You will never gain your reputation back Block_Erupter, but it is much better than jail or a random knock on the door.

OP hasn't slept in 4 days
2134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] WARNING, EMUNIE IS AN ELABORATE IPO SCAM on: January 11, 2014, 10:02:26 PM
Dunno about that either. NXT is the same as an altcoin with 100% premine and interest based on how much you buy from them. How is that second gen? I could do the same thing with a scrypt coin.

Sure you could. Nxt is a new-baby. They announced several plans and what they could do with Nxt, features you could not add to existing alt-coins.

Time will tell, Nxt could be a big success. The community is growing, and the support for it is strong.
2135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] WARNING, EMUNIE IS AN ELABORATE IPO SCAM on: January 11, 2014, 09:54:58 PM
This one was huge though, I'm sure people will fail to read this thread and lose their money. I hate what crypto is turning into.

So far, the only real 2nd gen crypto is Nxt.

2140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Commodity Backed Digital Coins and Governments on: January 11, 2014, 07:49:18 PM
The most interesting idea I've seen in an alt-coin, was rice-coin. It was being backed by 1 grain of rice per coin. Now granted, it's pretty pathetic and meaningless. But, there was a good idea. Back up an alt-coin by a commodity.

For example:

Lets take Oil-coin. Why not start buying out oil barrels of oil and grant the commodity to X amount of coins per barrel. That would give serious value to the coin. This could be an interesting concept for future Alt-coins. I believe once banks and governments start creating their own digitial currencies, they will all be backed by their current monetary system.
Side-effects - Centralization of digital currencies, but someone, someday will do this and it will gain a lot of popularity.

Taking a step back with the USD:
When the USD was brought into circulation, each USD was backed and traded by gold and i think silver too. This is what gave serious value to the dollar. Once everyone started accepting it, the dollar did not need any backing and became it's own monetary system.

Regarding Bitcoin and IPOs:
Most people know by now that Nxt, eMunie and etc are backed by bitcoin. Essentially: Bitcoin is gold, for the 2nd generation crypto currencies.

Do you think corporations/banks/governments/businesses will start launching their own currencies?

Also in the evolution of digital currencies, will we see a rise in commodity supported systems?
