Thanks for this, but please only post it once.

Can you provide virus scanner results for the files and MD5 checksums?

I've added a link to your thread on the 2nd post here.

Thanks

Both my test setup as well as mergemining are on proper fork (from the discussion here and verified by tx and txid to c-cex) .. Anything I can do to help smooth out this fork?

Yes you can help and everyone who is on the short chain, can you guys pls put more hash so we can surpass the 1.3th s which is being thrown currently on the long chain?

That would be appreciated!

There more like 905.6 TH/s on the long chain... that is a lot of miners. which is why, IMO, shouldn't it be the correct one? My pool has CRW off or it's be another 2-300TH....

I totally see where you're coming from.  Traditional views are that you should always allow your users to be able to access an exchange if you fork.

Give us a couple of hours to come back to you on this.  It would be a lot easier to just go with the longer chain.

I've tried several times now to get on the "short" chain but I already end up going back to the long one.... which is where the bulk of the clients are and where all the hashrate is....

What is the problem your having updating exactly?

eh? thought it was pretty plain. Everytime I sync, I go to the long chain.... even if I put in nodes from chainz explorer...

I've tried using the Iguana Desktop app in OSX but it just sticks at activating chain...

Is there an update coming that fixes that?

We've had to drop the argon2 algo. I've struggled to keep the coins alive but alas I can't get any peers anymore.

R.I.P.

Wanted to give it a try, deposited 0.01 BTC but I seem unable to find out how to rent scrypt miners, scrypt is not under the algo list though it is listed with a hash tap price on the right.

I haven't been able to test scrypt yet so it hasn't been enabled but I think it will be problematic like SHA256 is since there are so many merged coins, it causes instability.

I'll try and get a list posted to the site which shows which algos are actually enabled. The HashTap price unfortunately shows on all algos even if I don't have it enabled.

I tested scrypt for a while today and it seemed pretty good. I've allowed creating new taps for scrypt but will be keeping an eye on it.

Nice to see zpool grow and improve continously!

Your HashTap sounds pretty cool, I like especially the part about no penalties for work restarts.
Do you offer an API to query current prices, query balance, rent hash, adjust maximum price etc. programmatically ?

Cheers - psycodad

Thanks!

All the rental stuff can be found in our API:

http://www.zpool.ca/site/api

You can't create new jobs, but you can start and stop them, change price and hashrates and view the status of all jobs.

Thank you, did miss that page. That seems to have all functionality I need, will definitely give it a whirl.
One thing I still not completely understand is: How do I determine the lowest price that I have to pay to get miners/hash (I am bit fixed to think about it in NH terms where I lookup the lowest order that gets hash).
Or is HashTap from the miner and pool perspective just "another" coin, which gets switched to when the renter offers a better profit than all other coins at that moment?

The HashTap price, is the min price you'd need to set, to get hash from the pool.

So if HashTap price is currently 1 (and this is always fluctuating since all the coins on the pool do the same) and if you set your MaxPrice to 1... you get hash while it's still 1 and if it goes lower to say 0.75 etc... if HashTap goes over your max price, hash will stop but you'll only pay whatever the HashTap price is. So even if you set your Max Price to 5, you won't pay 5.... unless of course the price booms to 5, but thats not realistic, you'll just allow for more fluctuations and pay only the HashTap price...

what is new option Hash Tap?

I posted a bit of info here about it:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1751272.msg17641979#msg17641979

It's essentially a hash renting service so you can rent hash from the pool to use on other pools. For instance, if you want to mine on some solo pool, you can rent the hash and point it at the solo pool.

sounds interesting i cant wait to see how it works out..
i have one other question tho that i been noticing.. for like sha256 when you go to the pool tab you see all the coins and the exchange rate for the coins.. why is it that most of the time the majority of the hash is on coins far down the list and not on the top one? is it just lag and it takes time to switch the miners?

yeah I hope it works well for people. I think we'll have a better idea once more people start using it and giving me feedback...

Yeh, coins that are getting mined but are down the list were most likely just at the top and dropped down. Once it detects it needs to find a more profitable coin, the system then needs to identify all the workers on the coin, their hashrates, and which other coin(s) their hash should go to next. Then start moving them around again.
2136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: █▓▒░-< [ZPOOL.CA][Multipool] The miners multipool >-░▒▓█ Paid 1150+ BTC in 2016 on: January 27, 2017, 11:22:09 PM

its a great idea but in order for anyone to want to buy our hash it would have to be cheaper than NH.. unfortunately if you sold the hash that low it would affect our payouts as NH seems to always be at or under 100% bitcoin payout.

NH doesn't have all the algos I offer and don't forget you loose ~15-20% using NH on multipools due to the extra fees for work restarts. Pricing for HashTap is real world based off the coins in the pool, which you can see on each algo's stats.

I won't be underselling the miners, it is the miners multpool after all Smiley

Network stopped at 441 000 no more block reward??

I hadnt noticed that until you said, will have to keep an eye on this.

It's moving along again, but seeing blocks now with no value... is this intended? Seems all PoW blocks now only generate less than 1 SWING since just after block 441 000
2138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AR2] Argon2Coin new PoW algo, CPU friendly on: January 27, 2017, 04:40:36 PM
Time is running short. Delisting is imminent and has only been 2 trades there today.

We have been mining AR2 on http://www.zpool.ca/site/gomining?algo=argon2 but will have to drop it, if it falls off the last exchange.

We're the only pool mining this so if it drops... the chain will meet it's maker.

Cheers!

An explorer and some peers can be found here:

http://www.zpool.ca/explorer/FAME

http://www.zpool.ca/explorer/peers?id=1815

But yes, only 2 nodes for my pool as well and it would seem there is not much life left in this coin....

what is the hashtap tab and how does it work.. is it like nicehash where you rent the hash from the pool towards another pool? and how does the value of this hash get distributed to the miners?

it seems like a cool idea, but there isnt much info about it.

Yes, it's basically similar to NH. You create an account, fund it with BTC to the unique address you get generated, then add your pools for which ever algos you want to rent hash from.

You only get charged the CURRENT HashTap price, but you can set a MAX price you're willing to pay. Factors that can affect how much hash you get is your MAX price, your remote pool's DIFF, amount of miners to rent from, your MAX hash.

Unlike NH, there are no penalties for work restarts.

When I get some time, I'll try and write some FAQ's and get them available online.

Cheers
