Finally, Arsenal has lost their hope for champions league next season. It is very sad indeed. Arsenal started the season badly and we didn't expect them to be in top 4 when the season started. Fortunately for them, they made some drastic turn around. Finally their hope is ruined by Newcastle who has nothing to lose or gain in the table this year.
Well, this winning of Newcastle is a clear indication that they are prepared for next season.
Personally, I am not sad with the outcome of the match. This is because in terms of champions league performances, I prefer Tottenham to Arsenal. Tottenham will do better representation for England than Arsenal.
Arsenal tried all their best and all their efforts in clinching top 4 proved abortive, majority of their young players are fatigued, Tottenham worked hard for the spot and got it, Arsenal will have to settle for Europa league next season which is not bad, the team has a bright future with the calibre of youngsters in the team, honestly it will be difficult for the team to play in champion league with those inexperience players, next season I am expecting the team to perform better. |

Arsenal has not been a consistent team this seasion. Although the team's outstanding performance at the end of this season is very commendable, but I doubt their ability to to win this match against Newcastle United. We shouldn't forget that Newcastle United is a team that is going through a revolution. Why would something like that happen? Newcastle United have no claim. Whether they win or lose the match, nothing changes for them. But for Arsenal it is very important to win this game. Even a draw is not enough for Arsenal. Although Arsenal showed a fluctuating graphic during the season, these are now the last games of the season, they have to get 6 points. No matter what Tottenham does if Arsenal win their game, Arsenal is in charge. I don't see any reason why arsenal need to lose this match, cause this is there only hope of qualifying for the UEFA champions league next season, i think they need to put more interest and effort in there remaining games in hand. Above all else, it wasn't an easy match for Tottenham at all today. Actually the first half was fully under control of them but they were able to score only one goal. And in the other half, they just tried to keep their score advantage until the end. I can't say that they played defensively but they had less goal opportunities I mean. Burnley found many more opportunities in this half but there was no shot on goal. Tottenham managed to get that 1-0 win. Let's see how Arsenal will answer to it.

There was such a lovely match between these top teams and Liverpool ended it happily 6-5 by penalties. Even though Chelsea couldn't play as effective as Liverpool as for attacking, they still did a good work about carrying the match to extra time and penalties. I do not see Haaland being as great as people imagine for City. Not because he will play bad or anything like that, but they are a team that plays with flair and they like passing. Haaland is like a tank, he is a younger and to be fair more successful version of Lukaku for example, he plays with power and speed and ruthless ambition.
City on the other hand is a team that plays with style and aesthetic, so they like to pass around and show talent, kind of like pep's Barcelona 10+ years ago. This combination doesn't seem like it's ideal, I would rather see a striker that is a bit more quick with the feet type, like suarez but younger version for example.
In this context why should we judge him from now on even before he starts training or plays for City, why do we have to judge him as not good for City at the moment. His performances have been outstanding at previous clubs be it Salzburg or Dortmund and no one can argue about that. As for his performance later, of course it can only be seen next season and about whether or not it can be judged from Haaland's performance after starting the match in EPL. I agreed with you that Erling Haaland performed excellently well in his previous clubs, however I believe EPL is a different league and as well as very competitive league with some of the best defenders in the world, no doubt Haaland is a very good striker and definitely he will face a stiff challenges in his first season in Man City, I won't expect much from him next season, I expect him to begin to shine in the subsequent season after settling down in the league, Gourdiola will also guide him and integrate him into the squad such after clicks he would be unstoppable by banging goals week in week out. |
