2141  Economy / Services / Re: [PNNV.COM] Live bitcoin price monitor | Avatar Campaign | Full Member + on: September 08, 2022, 11:39:24 AM
New campaign will begin when this one ends. Most likely an avatar + signature one. For this month it's just an avatar campaign but of cause feel free to also use the signature  Wink
Thanks for the answer. Looking forward to it. Will wear the signature for now too.

Personally I feel doing p2p is more preferable in this situation so you will get the fiat in your account or in hands so the spending ways are not limited.
I second this. At least in my country gift card value are not that great except for online shopping for overseas products, so I'd rather cash out directly. That being said, I can see how valuable they are if your country's gift card trades are mainstream and you can cash them out easily.
2143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH Mining equipment on: September 08, 2022, 10:18:14 AM
In my local area, some of the miners that I know of decide to switch to ETC, while others will sell some of their equipment and keep some of them for future use. It is fair to say that most of them will likely end up in the secondhand market at a very low price. I'm not sure about Nvidia and AMD pumping ETC, at least with AMD they don't rely too much on mining to sell their cards, they focus more on their consoles. But it is definitely not going to stop some whales or somebody else to make ETC more attractive to mine.
2144  Economy / Services / Re: [PNNV.COM] Live bitcoin price monitor | Avatar Campaign | Full Member + on: September 08, 2022, 10:02:59 AM
Signature campaign will also be launching very soon. Thanks.
Is it a different campaign from this? Can I apply there when it is open or I can only join one of them (avatar/signature)?
2145  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 1.im - Project Ideation (non-commital) on: September 08, 2022, 10:00:38 AM
Where I am lacking is the wallet and crypto integration skills and the ability to modify it to add in paid follows, posts, etc.
Maybe try to post this on the service section, but you'll need to pay with bitcoin first, and then talk to them about more collaboration with your equity or whatever it is later. You won't get a good application if it's just an empty promise. Would be better if you disclose some of your mainstream projects such as the news platform you mentioned above to add credibility to your words.
2146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How Profitable Are Altcoin-Based Signature Campaigns? on: September 07, 2022, 10:15:24 AM
I can count on my hand how many times I joined a good campaign in altcoin bounties. So, it's mostly down to your luck. If possible, I'd rather join a BTC campaign, but if not, I'd bet on a campaign managed by reputable managers. At the very least, your chance of being scammed is lower there.

There is still one or two ongoing campaign but it's very difficult to enter here, so yeah there will be some effort to join the really good one even if it's some altcoin-based campaign.
2147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Video Gaming Sector Consumes More Energy Than Bitcoin Mining. on: September 07, 2022, 10:03:59 AM
I think the answer is simple, most people find games valuable (even though it is a form of entertainment) while Bitcoin or crypto is mostly seen as a 'scam', so any narrative that shows Bitcoin is bad will be popular.

Whether the data is reliable or not, I'm pretty sure most people would choose gaming instead of learning about crypto just because they can and are more familiar with it. So that's that.
2148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining in Lebanon on: September 07, 2022, 09:53:05 AM
its around 0.04-0.06 depends where I live but electricity is cheap, plus I wanted to install solar panels just for the rig
Have you calculated the cost of buying solar panels? If I'm not wrong there is a discussion in the past that generally says the solar panel is expensive and is not worth the cost to power your mining rig, since it will need a lot of panels to power one rig while also depending on the weather for the energy. CMIIW.
2149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Unstable grid power, seeking for solution on: September 06, 2022, 10:57:53 AM
Have you tried asking your electricity provider about this? If this is temporary I'd stop mining as suggested above, but if the stability is always like this maybe moving your place or changing your provider would be your best solution, albeit overkill just for the purpose of doing some mining. CMIIW.
2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: XMRig hidden in another app - google translator on: September 06, 2022, 10:34:53 AM
Even if there is no hidden miner script, anyone should never download from a third-party website like that. Even Google explicitly states there is no desktop version of their translation service. Don't rely too much on antivirus too, most of the time we can just avoid any trouble if we research for a bit.
2151  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin ATM's map - How to add to Websites on: September 06, 2022, 10:10:21 AM
There is also this one, but I don't know if it is still usable: https://coinmap.org/api/. I think most of these services are running a custom code and don't really want to offer integration for individual users. They target business owner for marketing and stuff like that, so best of luck if you're trying to contact them and ask for a map plugin for your website.
2152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why the price of gpu is skyrocketing? on: September 05, 2022, 10:01:52 AM
What GPU is that? Your retailer is probably trying to get more profits if they're offering you that price point unless your location is so remote nobody else sells any GPU other than them.

Go look online, you'll see that the price is getting better as others have said. If the online price + tax + other cost is still cheaper than your local store, I'd say go for it.
2153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: south africa has launched a SMS service to send bitcoin without internet on: September 05, 2022, 09:49:55 AM
The "sim as private key" part is definitely a marketing word. Quite a nice strategy to make sure you look great for the average joe, but completely misleading as usual. IMO I'd not spend an extra dime just to move some balance from my exchange account to another, especially if the alternative like logging in directly exists. But I guess the "offline" part must be really good for publicity.
2154  Other / Archival / Re: Fake trading volumes still thrive among exchanges on: September 05, 2022, 09:39:13 AM
Everything in crypto market volume is fake unless it will all be regulated.
What's the guarantee that it will not turn into another fake volume, just that it favors more to some players instead of the exchange themselves?

Honestly, it's difficult to trust anyone in this space, the conflict of interest is very clear and there's no way in hell a neutral third-party reviewer can exist.
2155  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cheap Bitcoin tx fees! on: September 04, 2022, 09:50:33 AM
This is one of the issues that will always come back whenever the network is busy and there's a huge bull run in the corner. It's similar to 'how many times bitcoin is declared dead' topic, people will always bring this up every now and then.

OP, I guess you should focus on sats instead of dollar value, that way you can see whether the fee changes a lot and is expensive or not.
2156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Need investments website/app Legit (Low balance) also need to make funds for.. on: September 03, 2022, 11:32:35 AM
Do you mean you know several computer programming languages, or can work using a computer and do things like graphic design etc? Try to apply on fiverr or upwork, or start your own content creation services. Be creative, we really can't help much since we don't know your in and out.
2157  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Use same private key for multiple bitcoin-based coins, good idea? on: September 03, 2022, 10:06:04 AM
IMO this is how most mobile wallet operates too, albeit using a seed phrase. I think other than the risk of someone getting your private key and stealing all your assets, there is no tangible risk. So make sure to protect your key with extra protection. CMIIW.
2158  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How Are Blockchain Project Funded These Days? on: September 03, 2022, 09:54:53 AM
I usually read that blockchain is unnecessarily attributed to something when in reality someone can just use Bitcoin or it doesn't even need blockchain in the first place.
From a business point of view, it's simple, they can profit from it and control it. But of course, just like how eBay exists while Amazon is there, I think it's inevitable that some new projects will keep coming out to compete with each other. That's not bad per see, the market will eventually filter out who will survive and who won't.
2159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining issue on: September 02, 2022, 10:00:38 AM
Since you're talking about ethash, you should post this on the alts mining section. Post more data especially your setup detail so experienced users can help you more. Also try to search on google for this, since there's a lot of related posts about this one and one of the solution might be able to help you. CMIIW.
2160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: is Saylor sued by Washington (DC) an attack to BTC? on: September 02, 2022, 09:52:59 AM
I've already seen a few Twitter threads talking and connecting the dots to BTC so quickly after the news is released. The story is so easy to spin, I'd rather ignore them or just use it as a data for my trades. If it has no effect then I'd just forget it, if it does, even if the reasoning is ridiculous, there's no harm with acting accordingly. Not the first time the market will act so emotionally and irrationally, and won't be the last either.
