1441  Economy / Gambling / Re: chinese bookmakers with tf gaming platform NO KYC on: March 18, 2023, 11:25:26 AM
There are still some no KYC casinos out there but I myself am not really sure if they are trustworthy and completely safe to use.
But if we study and research more about the gambling industry, we can conclude that in the future more casinos will implement KYC due to license requirements and security reasons from casinos to avoid problems like money laundering.
I'm not that confident about it. From what I've read, casino licenses provide no protection against such things. One of them in fact does not allow the casino to serve its own residents. If what I've read is true, most casino licenses are just a cash grab from the government so that they get more money from gamblers, while basically offering little to no protection to their users[1].

I also don't think they care much about money laundering until a government asks them about it. Even if they don't require KYC, I'm pretty sure they store some data that is useful for investigators. Probably not a good idea to judge a service like a casino solely on their license.

1444  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Beware of changing withdrawal address when using CEX on: March 15, 2023, 01:07:47 PM
But why did they take so long to unlock my account, and it took so long to reply with my ticket? That's why I submitted more ticket.
By the way, my account was locked only when I was withdrawing and not when I logged in.
I mean, what do you expect from a centralized service? Most of them take days to respond to tickets. You're quite lucky if they respond to your request in under 3 days or so unless they don't have that many users to begin with. Unfortunately, this is one of the risks that you have to accept if you use their service. At least there are alternatives as mentioned above.

That's a bit odd IMO, most exchanges that I know of will lock your account when you log in if they detect you use different IP. Asking them to ask the reason is probably better than guessing here.

However, it is not necessary to change your withdrawal address, it's your account and you can do what you want. I just want to inform to those who use CEX not to be so confident. We don't even know what they are thinking from time to time.
Some exchanges that I know allow you to add more than one withdrawal address in a form of contact. So it doesn't matter if you log in from another location but withdraw to one of those addresses. However, this doesn't remove the IP abuse protection. IMO it is necessary to do that since not every user is smart enough to activate the necessary security measure to secure their account. Their slow response definitely needs to be fixed though.
1445  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel Tapes Out Chips on 1.8nm and 2nm Production Nodes on: March 15, 2023, 12:53:26 PM
There is if you are in for the long run,for me this coin is Raptoreum as they have an awesome development team behind them
-snip-
Once they build the assets which are next so different programming languages can be used to build apps over this network which by the way is ASIC resistant as they change algo I think we can see the price of Raptoreum greatly increase.
That's nice to know. Can you use Intel CPU to mine them profitably right now? Or is there another bottleneck that a faster CPU doesn't really matter for the hash rate/profit?

And when they do come out they won't be competing with today's CPUs, they'll competing with Zen6
so expectations need to be moderated in assessing their impact on mining.
Yeah, I heard TSMC will also start producing mass N2 chips in 2025, likely coinciding with when Zen 6 arrives[1]. It doesn't offer a lot of density increase compared to their 3nm process if I understood it correctly but still gives a 10-15% performance/watt boost. Not sure how it will translate to hash rate power though.

Then we had a big jump to the RX series which was 16nm if I recall and I assumed it would be at least another decade when we broke the 10nm barrier but I guess technology advances pretty quickly.
I think one of the reasons is that manufacturing companies define numbers differently. IIRC, Intel claims its 10nm process is comparable to TSMC's 7nm[2], its 7nm is comparable to TSMC's 3nm[3], and so on. Basically, nanometer numbers in a vacuum don't mean much, Intel/TSMC or others can simply change the name and voila, we break another nm barrier. CMIIW.

1446  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Aoftware on: March 15, 2023, 12:38:02 PM
What's with the specific number for profits? 1.2 and 1.8% are really odd numbers to choose from. If you want a catchy marketing slogan, I think "more than 1% daily profit" is a better term. Without the guaranteed promise of course, unless your product is just a ponzi.

Everybody is definitely interested in a good tool to make daily trading easier. If your software is built properly, it will definitely have its use. But if it is just a scam tool, you'll probably get a ton of negative feedback/trust. Try to share the code for the basic version, then you can gradually build a premium one. Going open source is a good idea, especially when there are many open-source tools available that do more or less the same thing without any shady promise.
1447  Other / Archival / Re: [ANN] [banned mixer] | Best Bitcoin Mixer | Low fees | Fully automated on: March 15, 2023, 12:10:53 PM
The site sees to be online for most places right now, but currently down in Netherlands and Pakistan. Check it here: https://www.whatsmydns.net/#A/[banned mixer]
Thanks for the info. Is the site reliable? I'm more familiar with other 'is it down for everyone or just me' tools, but it is nice to know another one. What's the chance the down part is just the DNS provider blocking access to a specific domain btw?

If your VPN allows it, you might be able to swap on over to a country where the site is working, if it's out in other locations. It's probably pretty rare though that the site will be out in your country but up in others.
If you have access to Tor it is probably better to try using ToR. And don't bother using a free VPN since most of the time they will collect your data regardless of what their privacy policy told you.

Nope, we just moved clearnet domain to another provider, because previous one couldn't handle ddos, now everything works fine.
Good to know that. Hopefully, it will be able to handle another attack without any problem.
1448  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does blockchain have alternative keys or password? on: March 15, 2023, 11:52:10 AM
In some cases, blockchain systems also support the use of alternative keys or passwords. For example, some systems may allow users to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA), which requires users to provide additional authentication factors beyond just their private key, such as a password or biometric verification.
Are you referring to a wallet protection mechanism, like Electrum with its 2FA support? Using "blockchain" to refer to that is kinda misleading IMO. Things can get confusing pretty quickly if you start using wallet and blockchain interchangeably. As far as I know, there is no blockchain that requires biometric verification to publish your tx. Those features you describe are present in many wallets though.

1449  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to choose the best cryptocurrency payment gateway for your business? on: March 14, 2023, 12:13:06 PM
1) Support for multiple crypto coins :  The payment gateway should give the flexibility to buyers to pay in number of cryptos. Different people have their own preferences and it increases conversion rate for sellers.
This really depends on what your business needs. BTCPay server is quite popular even though it only supports BTC, which means many businesses are fine with their features at the moment. They also support plug-ins that help with fiat integration, plus they are open source that allows businesses to customize the application depending on their needs. Don't sacrifice security and reliability with extra altcoins to play with.

If you are running a popular platform and considering adding crypto payment with good control, it can be an option to just run BTCPay server without paying extra fees. Another good thing is that you can simply add another payment processor to process your altcoin payment if that is really necessary, without giving up any control over your BTC payment processor.
1450  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitget exchange on: March 14, 2023, 11:16:53 AM
I just heard about Bitget today, and when I searched it, Bitget doesn't listed on my Ministry of Trade country, so I will avoid it.
The list you're referring to also doesn't include Binance afaik, so it is not the best list if you want to compare the "trustworthiness" or reliability of an exchange. Most of them need active registration plus an office in the country, so it is understandable that some big exchanges would rather 'ignore' it and just use a proxy to get customers from the local market (like Tokocrypto and Binance for example). Still, I've never heard anyone mention Bitget either, so their marketing is certainly lacking for some markets. CMIIW.

There's no way to verify any centralized exchange, trade Bitcoin P2P with other person is also need a trust since you need to make the person will send his coins when you've send your coins first. The only way is using decentralized exchange or P2P which act as an escrow.
Other than making sure we visit the right address and judge whether a statement is wrong or not (which includes many things, such as marketing materials), I also think it is hard to 'verify' an exchange. A better term is probably to look for reviews from other members, or try it with a throwaway account if possible before you decide to use it as one of your main exchanges. It is impossible to remove trust completely, but at the very least we should be able to control our funds even if the platform we use went bust. I don't think an exchange fits that criterion though.
1451  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase to Suspend Binance USD (BUSD) Trading on: March 14, 2023, 10:45:23 AM
So, does this now mean that binance and coinbase are no longer friends and won't support each other in any further crisis in the future ? The crypto space is gonna get divided badly
I'm not sure how they become friends in the first place. I'm pretty sure if one of them goes down the other would just happily use that opportunity to increase its dominance in the market.

Btw, Im just curious whom do you guys support if you wanna have stables (just for trading purpose)? USDC or BUSD ? Im pretty confused but I do use binance myself here currently.
To be honest, all of them are shady as hell. If it is limited to those two maybe USDC is better, not to mention it has larger volumes in my preferred exchanges. Other than that, maybe USDT if it is not yet dead by the time I need to swap to stablecoin. That being said, trading BTC and altcoin directly is probably the best way to do it if liquidity is good enough to do that, no more hopping around stablecoins that can go down anytime.
1452  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Q&A] Tanya Jawab Seputar Forum Disini/Ask about this forum here! on: March 14, 2023, 10:30:27 AM

1453  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: Platform Exchanges Di Indonesia on: March 14, 2023, 10:23:55 AM
Tanya CS, saya dimintain tujuan penarikan+SS ke wallet mana. Duhh ngeri sampai hal pribadi pun harus sampe tau.
Sampe skrng masih pemeriksaan, rencana abis WD.... mau delete account tokocrypto.

CMIIW.
1454  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Adakah Mixer Untuk Altcoin? on: March 13, 2023, 03:01:18 AM

1455  Local / Altcoins (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: Cuan Besar dari Shitcoin on: March 13, 2023, 02:33:57 AM

Plus developer ga mengeluarkan duit sama sekali kecuali mungkin gas fee. Walaupun nanti bakal dibilang shitcoin sama Vitalik, ga ada masalah kalau udah dapeting volume dan untung setelah ngelaunch token.
1456  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Crypto Nest | The Home of Cryptocurrency Hardware on: March 13, 2023, 02:00:27 AM
Perhaps, offering a collection service or delivery to local collection points could be a solution for this? Alternatively, we could permanently delete customer information a short period after they've placed an order.
If the user has easy access to a local delivery point, that might be an option. Regarding personal information deletion, how would we verify that our info is deleted, and not stored in another storage for example? How would you process if a customer has an issue with their order too? Deleting after 7 days or a month can be a good idea, but again we won't be able to verify it. Even if we use an anonymous PO BOX to receive the order, you or somebody still has the records.

While trust is unavoidable if someone needs to use your service, perhaps you can think to solve this issue. If there is no reliable method to verify, personally I would not use your service even if I have to pay more to buy directly from Ledger/Trezor, etc. Adding another data point that can be exploited by malicious parties is a terrible privacy practice imo.
1457  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Trust wallet update on: March 13, 2023, 01:37:22 AM
Does this 'problem' still exist? I've been opening my Trust Wallet in the past few weeks but never got any notification. That being said, I've always updated it whenever a new version is available. Probably gonna uninstall it soon since I no longer find it useful.

Since you installed the correct genuine trust wallet at the first place, if the app prompt for an update, it will be genuine too. That's my understanding as a genuine app can't send a notification to update and overwrite with a scam app.
That's usually the case, but there is no harm in checking their social media or support if we never get any notification of a new behavior beforehand. Not to mention Android is generally not that safe with fake apps. God knows what new exploits are being used to inject an in-app notif with malicious code even if you download it from Play Store. Especially crypto apps that have been targeted many times by scammers.

Using the trust wallet without update for 2 years is not a good thing in my point of view.
AFAIK your phone will automatically download the latest update unless you turn it off or make an exception. So, if you never open your app for years, maybe you should uninstall it. You no longer use it anyway.
1458  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: My consternation regarding the monitoring of Bitcoin transactions. on: March 13, 2023, 01:04:23 AM
Other ways you can improve your privacy other than never reusing an address are to never post your wallet addresses online, use throwaway accounts and addresses if you want to participate in raffle/giveaway, utilize privacy tools like coinjoin, etc. Keep in mind that some implementation of coinjoin or mixer is not good, hence why exchange or other services can block and identify them. Make sure you do your research before you use them. As far as I can see, social media/forum posts are where others find out which users own what addresses.

That being said, if you do all of those things but you still use centralized services that require KYC, it would be meaningless imo. Try to use DEX or go P2P where KYC is not used and they have other means to make sure your deals are processed successfully such as using deposit/multi-sig. CMIIW.
1459  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: [Q&A] Tanya Jawab Seputar Forum Disini/Ask about this forum here! on: March 12, 2023, 10:39:11 AM

unfortunately, this is a new project that has been employed only once by an Iranian company and I cannot ask them since they will not be trying to solve my issue. this OS has 8 hashboards
But you have access to these devices, right? If not, how did you run the mining software? Remotely? I don't think you need permission or help from them to dump the log files unless it was gated in one way or another. Or do you mean the log files are customed for their needs so nobody other than them can understand the files?
