2141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dump just after a new listing? on: April 02, 2021, 08:59:30 PM
Never heard of this coin. Probably some shit coins. The first dump was probably due to the fact that the bounty hunters and those who received the coins were dumping everything for bitcoin or other well known altcoin. And then maybe the market was getting manipulated (by the developers?) and pumped. Once people started to see the price rise (and according to you people were expecting the price to increase more since they will be listed in another exchange) so they started to buy and cause the price to go even higher. Once they listed themselves in another exchange, the developers probably dumped all the tokens they had. You see the marketcap and the trade volume of that coin is so low that it is quite easy to manipulate the price of the coin.
2142  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Recovering losses on: April 02, 2021, 08:53:50 PM
Hi friends,

I am not a professional trader, all I wanted to do is earn some bitcoin so as to pay the potential income tax.
On 23rd Feb, I lost my 80% of bitcoin.
I should have managed risk better, but my worst mistake happened, when I had longed 3x. and I got scared during the dip.
I had lost 50% of my bitcoin in January but I think I got lucky, Elon musk pump helped me recover my lost bitcoin and earn 15% more.
Out of this 115% btc, 80% is lost.
I tried to recover from feb 24 and I was able to make 20% to double and make it 40%.
But being under tremendous stress, I overtraded and lost recovered btc and now back to 20%.
I thought of asking for some guidelines / help from some twitter personalities who are good traders, but I am afraid to approach, because they may think I am going to ask for some bitcoin or I am a scammer. Also I do not personally know any good trader who can help / guide with the strategy to recover my lost bitcoin.
By help I do not mean to give me everyday a trade setup or calls.
my strategy is to go very slow, buying the dips with 2x or 3x leverages and recover bitcoin over period of next 6 months.
I didn't do any revenge trades or high leverage trades to make it all back in one trade. This recovering is easier said than done.

Also I was thinking of selling a piece of  land I own, buy some bitcoin and keep it safe in hardware wallet, not trade with it.
And slowly recover from my existing 20%. Or stop trading completely.  This 20% is also quite some. so just stop trading and be content with whatever I have. and DCA in future.

Now I don't need to pay any income tax but also lost my bitcoin.
Greatly appreciate any words of wisdom, any help with the strategy to recover my loss.

Thanks and regards,
LongBTC2Moon.

You think you are ready now? If yes, then go ahead and start trading again. But make sure you don't repeat the same mistakes. Make sure you learn everything from your previous mistakes. Also, try to understand what went wrong. Like you said, you didn't do any risk management. Maybe try doing it this time and see how it works out? It might be different this time and you may start making good profit and know when you withdraw your profits or stop.
Give yourself another chance IF you can afford, or else just move on.
2143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What age bracket is perfect for gambling on: April 02, 2021, 07:33:09 AM
I don't think there is any "perfect" age for gambling. As long as you are not a child or an underaged person who is gambling, then everything should be fine. I don't think children are capable of understanding how gambling works, hence they should never gamble. But sadly, there are those video games where they have those loot boxes and mystery boxes where they get "random" cool stuffs from it. Those are like gambling and kids are getting addicted to it. I remember reading an article few days ago where a kid spent like 10 grands from his moms credit card without her consent.
You can gamble whenever you want as long as you are not addicted and an adult who can think straight without any issue. You can gamble when you can afford. The only time you can't gamble is when you "shouldn't".
2144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: See why most bounty hunters get scammed on: April 02, 2021, 07:22:20 AM
Bounty Hunters Don't Read

This thread Explains it

Quote
However, won't be surprised to see another application below  Roll Eyes lol

They refuse to read the thread very well and understand the rules

They are very much in a haste to earn and that is why they earn up being scammed.

They sheepishly follow existing application

They refuse to doubt when it sounds too good to be true

***** Just imagine application kept coming in, in an April Fool's Thread.
Are these applications from bots...

You are saying that the bounty campaign has the right to "scam" because they don't read? Some don't read. It's true. But most of them do read and they still get "scammed". I have seen so many people complaining after a bounty program ends. They say that the project manager/leaders haven't paid anyone. So according to you, everyone got scammed because none of them read anything on the thread? That is not true. They just decided not to pay their bounty participants. I have also heard how successful bounty programs ended up giving halve the rewards the users were promised.
All those bounty programs are crap. No one should join them and waste their time over there.
2145  Economy / Economics / Re: Why should i invest in bitcoin or other cryptos ? on: April 01, 2021, 07:10:21 PM
Because you can't ignore bitcoin and other cryptos. Like you can't ignore your future. So how can you ignore bitcoin and others crypto. Because bitcoin is future brother. So i want to ask you don't you want a best future for life. If answer is yes. Then now question is how can i get a better future. The simple answer is by knowing that which could be future. And which thing that is now undervalued but in future it will be the best valueable for us. Then the way, thing, method, platform whatever you can called and that is bitcoin and others crypto. So i hope you got your answer which is if you want a better future then you have to choose a future module which is bitcoin and crypto sp invest and wait for future. Thank you.
What makes you think bitcoin is the future? You know that if something better than bitcoin or a technology that surpasses blockchain comes out, bitcoin is probably not going to be the "future. Or lets say a new tech comes out that is able to break blockchain, then all crypto currencies are going to be obsolete. I mean, this won't actually happen, but it might. Maybe like after a century or so, but eventually something better will be discovered. Technology is always advancing at a fast pace.
Bitcoin is currently best suitable as a store of value or not as a regular currency.
2146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nicole wants to give up her taxi in exchange for bitcoin on: April 01, 2021, 07:02:43 PM
Was her car the only source of income? If that is the case, then she might have made a "risky move". Sure, if its going to pay off in the long run, but you should only invest what you can afford to lose. Invest your spare money, not your money that you will need in few days. If she is confident enough to get another job and able to lead a life without struggling, then yeah, she did the right thing. Assuming she doesn't fall for those FUDs, and cashes out only when she has reached her profit goal, then she will be doing fine. Nothing to worry about over here. Just tell her to make sure she knows what she is doing.
2147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Low volume coins good for investment now? on: April 01, 2021, 07:29:05 AM
Can a coin with very low 24hrs volume still brings profit? For example zclassic, the volume isn't even up to 20k in 24hrs, is it worth the risk or it's a big no for you? What do you think about this?
No it can't. Don't invest in those random shitcoins. It is not even worth investing and taking the risk. You will just end up regretting. You are saying the coins doesn't even have a volume of 20k in the last 24 hours. This means no one even trades those coins. And those coins can easily be manipulated. The price you are seeing right now maybe pumped by someone who bought the coins earlier. As soon as you buy more of the zclassic, you will see the price getting dumped by that first person who bought the coins.
Don't invest in those coins and waste your time. Go for bitcoin and other well known altcoins!
2148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If You Buy btc Today and cash out one year on: April 01, 2021, 07:23:25 AM
If You Buy Today and You dont touch it before one year but You also dont read the news of btc bans and fuds Smiley  then You Will be wealthy.
As history have showed us its not a trading or ta or other Type of trading.
The most wealthy with btc are those who dont give s about corrections they just hodle one year or longer.

Most of the newbie  traders even Will be rich of crypto If they will not read news about crypto or btc at all at least one year.
So what makes you think that the next year, the price is going to rise more than now? You might even end up with half the money you invested next year lol. This is not how you should be holding. The best way is to make a profit (or a loss) goal and then keep on holding. If needed hold for several years. Once you reach the goal (or you are exhausted), then cash out your profit and reinvest your capital if you want to. And remember, sometimes it is good to let go or sell instead of holding forever. I kinda feel like hodl forever is somewhat toxic and harms everyone in a negative way.
2149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I tried to tell him just HODL bitcoin, don't make this hard. on: April 01, 2021, 07:09:07 AM
You "friend" seems to be a dump one. Why would he say bitcoin is "old and slow" and then invest when the price dumps down to $49k? What worse is he then sold it at $47k. It looks like your friend is little impatient here and confused. He has no clue how the market works and how to make profits through holding. He probably was panicking and fell for FUDs and FOMOs.
But then, how did he manage to hold shitcoins and random altcoins without being anxious and panicking? He even made profit out of it. Looks like your friend just wants to be rich overnight.
2150  Economy / Economics / Re: More bullish news: Paypal will alllow crypto checkout on: April 01, 2021, 06:52:13 AM
This is was an old news. I mean, paypal announced it when they started to allow people to buy, sell and hold bitcoins on their platform. Their users were supposed to be able to checkout with bitcoin, that is pay merchants with bitcoin. But in fact, they aren't checking out with bitcoin. What they are doing is selling their bitcoin and then using fiat/paypal balance to pay the merchant. So only users that hold bitcoin on paypal will be able to use that options. Paypal won't process any external bitcoin payments.
2151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The realities of modern casinos on: March 31, 2021, 07:58:22 AM
Hello! Why in modern casinos everyone loses and all casinos grow so quickly, including all of them, depending on online, their bankroll is growing and they are ready to accept investments in their projects?! I have been in online gambling for about 15 years, if anything. I sit on many casino forums, almost everyone and always lose everything, even at a distance, which is logical. But there are lucky ones who are lucky enough to hit the jackpot or successfully place a high bet and catch a large multiplier. Maybe a modern casino uses the maximum psychology in its favor with promotions and conditions? What do you think, is it worth starting to play at an online casino at all, or is it better to invest this money in something worthwhile? Let's not let newbies go from first win to psychologist - how to stop gambling and lose everything! Let's talk about a rather difficult moment to play in a casino or not?
So you are trying to say "past casino" gave players better chance of winning? Lol, no they didn't. This gambling. The gambling industry is alive and still exists, because in the long run, it is always them who wins. And more modern casino are popping up (i guess you meant online casino?) and becoming successful because each of them offer different games and different features. Advertising online casino is also easier thanks to the modern advertisement targeting technology. They are all not the same. And more gamblers are joining due to ease of access and being able to play from their comfort zone.
2152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Gambling company that did hit the jackpot during the pandemic. on: March 31, 2021, 07:52:37 AM
It's not only bet365 that got lucky during pandemic. All most all well known casinos, specially those crypto casinos has seen a rise in betting volume during this pandemic. People were at home. They had nothing to do and thought gambling would be fun.
On other hand, the price of bitcoin and other crypto currencies also played a role in this sudden gambling boom. As the price started to rise more and become more trending, people had "more money" to place bets on different events or just gamble them away!
2153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who where how much withdrew from no deposit on: March 31, 2021, 07:50:06 AM
There are few casinos that give no deposit bonus, but those wager requirements make it almost impossible to withdraw anything. You will have to wager like 1000 times of what you have been given. Even if you manage to do this, you will see the casino likely blocking your withdrawals stating that they believe that you were cheating. And most of the time people actually do cheat and abuse those no deposit bonus.
Even if you do manage to meet the wager requirement in a legit way, you will lose like 80% of what you were given.
2154  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have a relatives who ask advise to invest, what should I do? on: March 30, 2021, 08:39:35 PM
I just want to share my experience, I have a relative who come to me and ask advise on what coins to invest now, I don't name a coin and I said he must do his research but he insist that I know, he want to invest immediately.

I know he is into FOMO because he seems so aggressive and like to get instant return.
He told me that since I'm a veteran, he would like to ask some advise on what coins will pump in the coming days so he can invest on it.

I knew he is so positive, and I can feel him since I also got FOMO'd before.

What do you think should I do guys? how can I help him?
If they seriously wants to invest in bitcoin, why not tell them to invest in bitcoin? If they are interested in altcoin, then why not suggest them to invest in well known altcoins like Ethereum? Those two coins will help them to get started. If they further wants to expand their investment and try out different coins, provide them with resources where they can find important information about the coins that they might want to invest. Maybe send them over to this forum?
Oh, and tell them to avoid those shitty coins that are pumped and dumped on regular interval. And tell them, if they are here to make quick profit, then crypto isn't the best place for them.

Now we're discussing 40000, 50000, 60000.
So just because the price went up from $10 to $60,000, you now think that bitcoin can become the central bank of the central banks? How does this logically makes sense? You guys are being overly optimistic. Unfortunately, bitcoin is never going to take over central banks or replace them in anyway. At least this is what I think. First of all,  the price is volatile. Something extremely volatile can't take over the central bank. Secondly, there are some flaws that currently makes bitcoin less suitable to be used as a regular day to day currency.
Maybe one day the government all around the world comes up with a crypto currency of their own that will replace their own central bank system?
2156  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing only for the rich? Think again on: March 30, 2021, 08:02:32 AM
You are correct. Anyone who thinks that investment is only for the rich is wrong. Anyone can invest. The rich, the poor and middle class, everyone! It is only that you have to me smart when investing. You have $10 spare per month? Invest with those $10 in potential stocks or cryptocurrencies. Look at the price of bitcoin 10 years ago and look at the price now. A poor person who has invested around $10 a decade ago is now living a life that is free from any financial sufferings.
The problem is, when it comes to crypto, people think that they have to own whole coins. No you don't. You can always invest in fractions!
2157  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to win at roulette? on: March 30, 2021, 07:55:15 AM
The European roulette are ones with one zero, and is usually half the house edge, right? The only way to win is through luck. No strategies or "tips" won't help you win a roulette game. If you are lucky, you win the bet, if you are unlucky you lose the bet.
Remember, the casino has a house edge. This means, in the long run it is the casino that will always win. So if you keep on playing, eventually it is you who will lose most of your money.
2158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ending the life - Gambling on: March 29, 2021, 07:58:38 PM
Have you guys thought of ending the life after big losses. Right now my mind is thinking of ending the life. It all started with just $700. I lost it, and in the event of recovering those fund I went for a loan and deposited around $2500. Here my fate, I lost everything once again. Then the recovery value increased from $700 to $3200. Here once again I deposited $9000 borrowing. Now that too is lost. My mind keeps saying end the life, with your earning you can't repay the amount lost.

Sorry guys. Cry
Are you talking about ending your life or ending your gambling life? If it's the former, that's the most stupidest thing you are about to do. Ending your life won't solve any problem and you will just make others suffer and feel guilty. Talk to someone. Call those suicide preventions centers. They are helpful. Talk to your friends and family. Talking helps!
And you really think your life is worth only $10,000?
2159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I went big into Bitcoin and Ethereum... on: March 29, 2021, 07:49:32 PM
Hello Gang,
New guy here.
About 2 weeks ago I purchased $50,000 of Bitcoin and Ethereum thru Coinbase.
It's all sitting in the Coinbase wallet with a 2 step verification to get access.

I just ordered a Trezor 1 cold wallet. Might take a few days to get here.
How safe is the Coinbase wallet for holding my stuff?
I've read that their site is actually very secure.

Thanks for any info!

Don't stress out if you plan to hold it on coinbase for few days. But, if you are planning to hold for long term, it is not a good idea. 2FA will protect you from others trying to get into your account, but it's not going to protect coinbase from hacks. I mean, if coinsbase loses all their coins to a hacker, your coins are lost too. Again, you never know when coinbase might go down. Happens a lot when there is a sudden increase in trade volumes. Just move your coins to your Trezor wallet as soon as it arrives.
2160  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Nigeria Central bank confusing its citizens? on: March 27, 2021, 07:29:55 AM
Earlier last month, there has been an uproar from many about Nigeria's Central bank on its decision on cryptocurrency among Nigerian citizens. This led to panic among cryptocurrency investors in Nigeria, as the CBN directed that trader's accounts in Nigerian banks should be closed.

In a recent report released on March 22nd, the CBN says they are not discouraging citizens from trading or making use of Bitcoin. But it only told the banks to close accounts that had traded cryptocurrency

https://www.coindesk.com/nigeria-central-bank-bitcoin

If the citizens are free to trade cryptocurrencies, how will it be possible without making a transaction to or with their local banks? Of course, it might be possible with the P2p transaction. But what is the need of encouraging them, when you will still close their accounts?

Now my question is, why all this confusion? Isn’t the CBN confusing Nigerian crypto traders?
I feel they didn’t think this through before releasing their ban statement in February with their wild claims.

Didn't they already ban all sort of crypto currencies in your country? I remember reading some threads few weeks ago where all bank accounts that were involved in crypto trading were closed without any warning. And that the central bank of your country issued a notice that trading and transacting with crypto currencies is illegal. So I don't think they are confused or anything. They did actually put a complete ban to it. Sucks you guys never got any warning or anything.
Since they said any transaction involving crypto is illegal, wouldn't that mean p2p transactions are also illegal?
