2161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What coin will be bought by new people? on: March 27, 2021, 07:04:29 AM
It's always a question of speculation if we buy Bitcoin or if we buy Altcoin.
For a profitable buy, we need to know what new people will buy.

Bitcoin is already well known but also trusted. Not many new people will discover it but people will buy more constantly because it's trusted.
Altcoins are not very well known (except Ethereum) but also not very trusted. Many new people will discover it but will be hesistant to buy because it's not very trusted.

For a prediction, which one new people will buy more, we can only guess.
What is your opinion, which one will bring uns more profits? Altcoins or Bitcoin?
I am sure most of the people will start by investing in bitcoin. Once they get comfortable with bitcoin and in the process, gets to know more about the market, they will start researching about altcoins. This usually happens when they start hearing or reading about certain altcoins trend or hype. Most likely people would first go for Ethereum since it is well established and you can hear about Ethereum almost everyday while going through your favorite crypto news portal. Others might even become a bit daring and try to invest on those new altcoins that they keep hearing about.
You never know what altcoins they are going to buy next. It all depends on that exact current situation and what is trending. Last year it was about DeFi and now it is all about NFTs.
2162  Economy / Economics / Re: Can the world be without poverty on: March 27, 2021, 06:58:34 AM
There is no such thing as a perfect society where there are no poor people or people that suffers from poverty. The class differences will exist no matter what. The best we can do is reduce the differences between each other by providing external support. Even that "external support" won't make much difference. If they keep on receiving benefits from the government, chances are the people won't try to improve themselves any further and will forever be dependent on the government (tax payers money).
If everyone becomes equally rich, there won't be a balance. It is almost impossible to make a world where everyone is equally rich.
2163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Investing on: March 27, 2021, 06:43:22 AM
I’d like to get some opinions on Altcoin investing strategy. Here’s where I’m upto.
1.   Only invest 1% of portfolio
Maybe be a bit more? 1% sounds way too less unless you are investing huge sum of money. Maybe invest 1% in some random altcoins while investing rest 9% in some good, wellknown altcoins.

2.   Take out initial stake after 3x gain
Sure. You can do that. But this means you might have to be holding for long term. Your altcoin profits won't jump to 3x in few days.

3.   What about taking further profits, selling out completely? I’ve read that altcoins will lose 60-90% of their value when altcoin bubble bursts
Even if it does lost 60%-90% of its value (more likely to happen with random scam/shit coins), you won't make any loss as long as you don't sell. The prices will eventually recover. But then again, it is up to you to decide, is it worth holding for this long?
2164  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why you don't need to HODL or trade Bitcoin on: March 26, 2021, 09:21:05 PM
So, do you have some sort of personal vendetta against bitcoin or something? You are clearly telling people not to hold bitcoin, but to hold other altcoins. That makes zero sense at all. In fact, it has been seen that bitcoin is actually a better store of value than any other altcoins. I was expecting you to shill for some altcoins, but looks like you are an Ethereum fanboy. At least you aren't promoting some shitty altcoins.
What what is this "disaster" you are talking about? What makes you think that Ethereum would be able to survive, but not Bitcoin?
2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HODL your ALTCOIN! We are almost on ALT SEASON right now on: March 26, 2021, 09:01:15 PM
Many altcoins got pumped right now, even for something shitcoin like BTT (Bittorent) and NPSX got pumped like crazy. I assume we are going to ALT season now after bitcoin stable below $60k
You mean many altcoins are getting manipulated right now? You do realize that those "crazy pumps" that you are talking about are just some groups or the developers themselves pumping and dumping, right? It's not that "altcoin" season that you are thinking about. And what is this with people being obsessed with "altcoin season". So weird that I have never seen anything like this. As long as bitcoin rises, altcoin follows. When bitcoin falls, altcoins get dumped. Is the "altcoin season" that you are talking about the "season" where shit coins and scam coins get pumped and then dumped? Then don't join those trends. You will just encourage those scammers.
What shitcoin currently you HODL until now?
Why would anyone in their right mind hold shitcoins?
2166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Type of people who buy bitcoin. on: March 26, 2021, 07:09:14 PM
Hello. So, I was wondering if bitcoin is something that only the privileged and elite who have extra money leftover can invest in or not. Are normal people working minimum wage buying bitcoin, even if it is a small amount? Thanks.
Anyone can buy bitcoin as long as they can afford to. It's not like you have to be extremely rich or privileged to buy bitcoin. People with minimum wage can also invest in bitcoin as long as they are willing to lead a frugal life and save every penny they can in bitcoin. You don't have to buy one whole bitcoin. You can buy fractions of bitcoin. Try saving like $25 bucks a week and you will have around $100 to invest in bitcoin by the end of the month. Keep doing this and you will invest around $1,200 in a year. That $1,200 might turn your life around in the future who knows.
2167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my gripe with the term "crash" on: March 26, 2021, 06:52:19 PM
so I have been in the game for quite some time now, buying/selling and even mining, being a native English speaker and too thick to learn other languages I have to suffice with what I have learnt, but the term "crash" every time the bitcoin drops 1% of its peek value is just absurd to me, As we have just dropped some due to tesla cashing out, and as far as I know, Every drop has been to some whale cashing out, so in what sense is this or any event like this ever a crash, this is a supply and demand, a crash is a critical error of the system! I am just fed up of watching you tubers saying there is a massive crash, no its a massive market correction people, The term crash imply  there is something  fundamentally wrong with the algorithm (like a 51% attack) and should seriously worry about our investment choices.

i am not worried, it will get there, massive ups with massive downs, and it would be a lot less if these videos and blogs would not hype the trend.

am I alone?
Lol, people when they see the price even dropping by 1%, they will start screaming crash. They usually do this to gain some attention or in order to spread FUDs. I don't even know how people enjoy doing that. I mean at one point, this becomes really annoyed.
And there are those main stream media. They start spreading anything and take advantage of "negative keywords" to gain more followers and attention. Hence they tend to use words like "crash", "ban", "lost" and so on in order to make people read those articles or watch their videos.
2168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government ban on crypto on: March 26, 2021, 03:22:44 PM
Question

Quote
Do you guys think Bitcoin has any chance of being banned by the government? I keep hearing people say that Bitcoin has a chance of being banned, yet I don’t think so because very powerful people like Elon Musk along with other companies are large investors. Is their any weight to that statement?
-snip-
Very highly unlikely for that to happen, specially now. In fact the opposite is going to happen. More and more government are starting to understand how bitcoin and other crypto currencies work and is trying to incorporate with the current existing system. They know that banning will just negatively affect the system. Again, they also realize that banning won't stop people from using it since it is decentralize. They are well aware banning will just cause rise in more illegal transactions. Hence, they are trying to legalize it through various policies and regulations. Only few countries out there that are totally against crypto currencies.
2169  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are easy to trade? on: March 26, 2021, 07:45:09 AM
What do you mean by easy? You trade all coins the same way. If you want to trade a coin "easily" then look for a platform/exchange that is secure and easy to use along with most of the functions needed to trade.
And by easy, if you mean easy to make profit, then none. It is NOT easy to make profits. You will have to be dedicated. Don't forget about the volatility of the market. In few seconds you may either make tons of profit or lose everything. Though, well established and well know coins are easier to trade since than those unknown coins. But I would say the easiest way to trade is to hold long term and then sell.
2170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meeting about Bitcoin and inviting people to it on: March 26, 2021, 07:15:26 AM
I'm a computer student, and I discussed bitcoin at a university meeting today, and I think it would be interesting for you to know what both professors and academics think about bitcoin.

I started by saying that bitcoin is expanding and that big governments are looking for bitcoin, and that the price of bitcoin has grown tremendously over the last few years. But professors who disagreed pointed out that bitcoin does not even have strong backing! Bitcoin is like something that does not exist, and people leave their capital in the hands of those who control the market.
You are a computer science student but you started talking about the finance/economics aspects instead of the technological aspects? Instead of talking about how valuable those crypto currencies are going to be, why not talk about how foolproof and reliable (with few drawbacks) the system is? Why not talk about the technology behind it?
You could have countered your professors argument by saying that even fiat is backed by nothing and the in in fact un the total control of the government who can print money anytime they want. In other words, the government can destroy the fiat system within few seconds.
2171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Supply Be Manipulated? on: March 25, 2021, 09:31:44 PM
Yes, anyone can change the 21 million cap or the protocols. But if most of the "people" don't support what you have done, all you would be doing is creating a fork and a new coin. The coin with new cap won't replace the existing chain due to less support. So yeah anyone can do that but will need support from majority of the people (miners).
On other hand, the currently circulated bitcoins supply can be manipulated by whales. All whales together can buy most of the supply creating an artificial shortage and increasing the demand.
2172  Economy / Gambling / Re: If you loose your funds don't loose the fun on: March 25, 2021, 08:26:55 PM
Dont know how it is possible not to lose fun, when every loss is a disappointment. When you gamble, you expect to win and not just spend time clicking roll or spin. Besides, if you work hard (or at least do something to get money) and lose, how can you keep smiling after? For me, money dont come easy and fall from the sky. Losing in gambling is not a disaster, but with every lose I feel bad inside.
You were here to gamble and you should know that you can either win or lose and the chance of losing is higher than winning. People who thinks that they won't lose on the long run and always hope to make profit are the ones that can't take a loss and feels really disappointed. When you go to gamble, you should never keep your expectation very high.
And as long as you gamble for fun, your loss shouldn't matter, right? Think of your loss as if like you are paying for entertainment. Those profits are just same bonus you enjoy while spending money for short adrenaline rush.
2173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin I should invest with 5k dollars? on: March 25, 2021, 08:00:44 AM
Investing with 5k dollars is a lot of money, so you should really pay attention to the altcoins you are going to buy at the moment.
Maybe a good altcoin for investment you can choose Ethereum, ADA, BNB besides uniswap that is in your portfolio. But don't forget
also you have to own bitcoin, today bitcion is being corrected, right to buy it
Why even invest in ADA and uniswap. Those altcoins are kinda very risky to invest in. If the uniswap trend dies, the chances of the price to get dumped is very very high. The best way to invest for long term with less risk is to put like more than half of your investment in bitcoin and rest in some very well established and well known altcoins like Ethereum. Keep like 5% of your money to invest in risky unknown and new altcoins.
2174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: if btc is in a bear market, can some alts still moon ? on: March 25, 2021, 07:38:38 AM
Some altcoins might when they are "trending" and others when they are being manipulated. When bitcoin starts to drop, the usual scenario is that the price of altcoin starts to drop even harder. But sometimes, there are few altcoins that starts to rise due to FOMO and other factors. Again, there are those that are being pumped, eventually ready to be dumped. Those are the coins that we call shit/scam coins. You find a lot of those coins and you will usually see that their price has went up like more than 5 times or 6 times. Don't invest in those. You will regret.
2175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Coin On PANCAKESWAP on: March 24, 2021, 08:34:10 PM
PANCAKESWAP is a fairly new crypto exchange. Many new cryptocurrencies are introduced there everyday.

Are you any scam coins on this site? Anybody faced any scam coins there before?
Why would you even use a "fairly new crypto exchange". There are so many other better well known exchanges out there, and you are asking if shit coins are listed in an exchange that has a very weird name (and itself sounds like a scam). Why even use that exchange? Choose one of the well known and save yourself some trouble. But remember, all exchanges have some shit coins listed to some extent. They can't filter out all those scam coins.
The best way to know if a coin is good or not is to learn more about the coins. Do some digging and you will know if its a scam coin or not.
2176  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you explain NFT to a 5 years old child? on: March 24, 2021, 08:28:02 PM
Blockchain technology is giving birth to some fantastic sub-industries that would forever restructure how values are transferred.
It started with money and decentralized finance (Defi) which is the tokenization and decentralization of financial business products such as loan, futures, derivatives, insurance etc.
Then, the NFT is the new wave of a blockchain application that is already gaining public acclamation and adoption.
My questions are for the benefit of every member of the forum; they are;

1.   What is the meaning of NFT in your opinion and in simple terms?
2.   How does NFT work?
3.     How does it benefit the economy?

To me, NFT is the application of technology to make an asset (land, art work, content) unique and valuable by giving the owner the sole right of ownership.

1. Fungibility means something that is interchangeable. Something that isn't distinguishable. On other hand, nonfungible goods are not interchangeable. Lets say I lend you my car and after few you days you have to return my car. A car that belongs to me. A car that is signed under my name. It won't work if you return me a different car or a car of the same model. You have to return the car that I own. Here the car is Non Fungible. Similarly, NFTs are interchangeable.

2. Right now people are using Non fungible tokens to sell things like their records, arts and tweets. Those arts or "assets" are somehow tied to those tokens which will help people to verify the original ownership.

3. Meh. Not sure if it benefits the economy in anyway.
2177  Economy / Economics / Re: You want to make money with Bitcoin ? Here is a Tip ...Psy... on: March 24, 2021, 07:59:34 PM
Burning your "math" or "economics" book won't help. Are you trying to say that crypto defies all math and economical conditions? That is not true at all! Several factors economical factors play a role when it comes to the price of the crypto currencies. Like, don't you see how the price increases once there is a "trend"? The trend leads to demand causing the price to increase more.
You are right over here. To some extent, the price is also determined by human "psychology" but that factor has a short term affect on the price, not long term. Just don't depend on it for your future investment.
2178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla now accepts Bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 04:23:54 PM
Elon Musk just announced that you can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin. He also says that they will not convert the BTC to fiat.

-snip-
Sweet! It was last month I think I saw that a pilot page was up where they probably were testing and trying to integrate bitcoin payment system. Didn't expect them to complete it this quick! Best thing is, they aren't using any third party payment gateway or processor and they are keeping every bitcoin they receive instead of converting it to fiat. Now that is really interesting. As far as I have seen, most of the "well known" sites that accepted or used to accept crypto currencies always used a third party payment gateway where the they received the bitcoin and paid the merchant with fiat.
Lets see how it all turns out. I am sure a lot of people are going to buy tesla with bitcoin.
2179  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading, is it worth? on: March 24, 2021, 04:01:39 PM
Sure, go ahead and start day trading if you are have time and willing to take this seriously. Day trading requires a lot of concertation and understanding of the market. You will have to keep yourself constantly updated with the market. You will be making profits quick but a lot of risk comes with it. There might be days where you aren't making anything. Again, the sudden volatility might make you lose everything if you make one wrong move.
I am really curious how are you evaluating your trading ideas, what is the process, and what are your rules what type of traders you are?

If anyone could explain their strategy on day/swing/scalp/position you will make my day

At least I tried it Cheesy

Have a beautiful life, peace and make them gainz! Smiley

Every people evaluates their trades in different ways depending on the situation of the market. You should keep trying and you will eventually understand how it works. Mimicking  other peoples strategy won't get you anywhere.
2180  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: Student Coin new pre-ico project for universities on: March 24, 2021, 07:52:47 AM
I've seen in some telegram channel that many people are talking about this project and they are waiting for this. i also seen their bounty page that thy have successfully done their phase 1 and now they have the capability to continue on its phase 2. I hope this is not just other scam project with the same concept. But so far I can say that this is quite legit and credible.
You hope? Highly likely this is another scam project. All they will do is collect funds from the investors and then them boom, they are gone or they will dump all their tokens and make them useless. This is just a very common scenario.
Even if they don't dump the tokens, once the pre ICO and ICO is done, they will stop working on the projects and start showing excuses. And have you had a look at their use cases? I bet it won't make any sense or will sound like "some really really good" but impossible to achieve. Don't invest in projects like this. You will only regret.
