Yes.  The fee is $6.  If you find this too high, don't use it.  We only $3 in profit on this transaction.  We have a cheaper fee structure on 3 months listed in the discounts of $159.99 for three months.

We can handle billing amount, but have hardcoded the $49 bill as it is most common.  If you have a different amount you pay (older service terms) we can handle it and create it for you.
2167  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS / AUCTION] Raspberry Pi Model B on: May 05, 2012, 02:37:21 PM
Don't they only cost $35 new?

They sell over $80 on ebay all day long.  They will probably be this way for a few months with price slowly dropping.

2170  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Illegal Immigrants and Big Government on: May 04, 2012, 04:16:46 PM
Maybe because it is Democrats that cater to illegal workers so that they would get their votes at the expense of tax paying Americans citizens who have the duties and obligations that illegals do not contribute to in any meaningful way.  Ever think of that?

I stop reading when I see the label "democrat' or "republican". More people should do this. Your point may be valid but if it is framed in partisanism you don't get it.
+1

Niether party is doing what is best for the country.

Illegals greatly contribute to the economy by allowing small business access to cheap labor.  While illegals do commit crimes they do so at a lower rate then the average for fear that they will be deported. They help balance SS by contributing without drawing benefits.

On the eastern shore of Maryland there is Still an ongoing labor shortage exasperated by government sting operations against farmers.   In this case the government is working against the economy and FOOD SECURITY.
2171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Prediction: Dwolla will get bought by a huge banking conglomerate on: May 03, 2012, 09:34:20 PM
a fraction of the current cost

Isn't their current cost 25 cents for each transaction? That's pretty cheap.  Do you plan on matching that instead of the 3.99% fee now?

The 3.99% fee is only for cash deposits.

Dwolla's fee is $0.25 but it takes 7 days to get verified and set up.

If I can do ACH for about 1%, but the turnover is about 24 hours, would you pay it?

When my Dwolla account receives cash, its automatically moved to my checking account, and shows up within 2 business days.  I'd much rather pay $0.25 than 1%, even if you claim you can cut the wait time in half (2 days -> 1 day).  How long it takes to verify your account the first time is pretty irrelevant.

A 1% fee is simply too high to process a withdrawal.  It would cost me at least 50x what I pay Dwolla, if not more.

While I have been selling locally most of the time. When I used mtgox/Dwolla it was for amounts generally around $400.  The of 25 cents is too low and subsidized (thank you??).   .5% or $1-$2 would be much higher then Dwolla but I would gladly pay it to a company like BI that is in the bitcoin community.

2172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Banks started to accept bitcoins, would you trust them with yours? on: May 03, 2012, 08:09:22 PM
excuse me for sharing a personal history:

I was flash-kidnapped once. I stayed on the car with 2 burglars while another went through ATM machines to pick my money. I had to give them the PIN codes of my cards. I had a old card that I didn't have the PIN and it was tough to convince the thief that I really didn't have the PIN for that old card*. I stayed with them for 2-3 hours and they released me after spending roughly U$ 500,00 in fiat and U$ 1000,00 in credit card purchases (refunded later). I can't imagine how long I would stay with them if they were able to take all my money.

That's why I'm looking for a deterrence model to protect my BTC's. A model that keep the burglars away from even trying to assault me, and keeping my BTC's in a bank maybe is one of the possible solutions.

* I don't want to trying to convince someone with a gun again that I don't have access to my money (hidden-volume or brainwallet). Maybe it won't work all the times. I'm looking for deterrence. The thieves have to know beforehand that they can't get all of a person's money.
An "abduction pin" would have helped in this case.  Too bad the banks don't offer this.

Put in the pin and the cops are silently notified.  Balance could be reported as overdrawn or allow access to a subset of funds.

I can do my polo at cost ($22) and provide one of them free if there was support.  Time is an issue though.  To get eight in one size (I stock 2-3) i would need to know by Friday.

I personally believe the polo is best as it peaks interest and looks good but A tshirt design with sponsors could be done as well and I could sponsor half of it myself or with others.  I think something simple like:

Bitcoin.org
In cryptography we trust.

2174  Economy / Goods / Re: BTC 4 Cellphones or How to turn old junk phones into BTC on: May 02, 2012, 12:50:08 PM
I would do this if the address were in the USA or you better compensated for the shipping cost.  The shipping cost is just too high to international addresses from the USA.  I have about 5 phones.
2175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Request: Let's support "bitcoin:" URLs! on: May 02, 2012, 01:59:59 AM
This would be a great improvement to bitcoin.  It has been talked about before but it seems to be one of the last easy improvements that will have a great impact on usage and adoption.

2178  Economy / Goods / [wts] high end Minolta Maxxum AF Zoom Lens 28-135mm Works on Sony Alpha 60 BTC on: April 29, 2012, 09:27:19 PM
Included are the lens, the hood (it is worn and old but still does the job) and a soften filter.  This is known as the 'secret handshake' lens.

People are using these lenses on Sony Alpha cameras, they fit in directly with the A mount type Sony Alpha's.  It turns out that Sony bought out the Minolta camera division and high end Minolta lenses are a great choice for the Alpha's.

From ebay guides:
Maxxum 28-135mm f/4-4.5: Legendary Standard Zoom by Minolta

The Minolta Maxxum 28-135mm f/4-4.5 is one of the few elite lenses manufactured by Minolta that remain within reach of the average Minolta photo enthusiast. On par optically with the G series lenses, it isn't a cheap lens but is certainly an excellent value.  Like anything else in life, you get what you pay for!

The story on this lens is that it was manufactured at the same Japanese (Sakai) factory that Minolta built their APO and specialty lenses when the Maxxum line up was first introduced in 1986. Long since discontinued, at the time of its introduction it was the worlds' first rear internal focus lens. The lens is a beauty, both optically and in a physical sense. I am totally hooked on this lens and use it as my primary "go to" lens when I am outdoors. This is one of those classic Minolta lenses that prove the company knew how to make great (and innovative) glass back in the day. The three photos above were taken within an hour of each other, so you can see how versatile this lens is.  For these and more (hi-res) examples of photos taken with this lens, check out my gallery at flickrdotcom/photos/seagr112

For covering such a wide focal range, the lens is near flawless in its image reproduction. It is sharp, sharp, sharp, from wide open to stopped down. The 1st generation vintage build is solid and substantial. All metal, inside and out, and beautiful glass. Attached to my 7D/VC-7D, it is impressive and quite a handful - but it works. And it minimizes lens changes with its wide focal range. It is absolutely perfect as a travel lens and for working outdoors.

The numbers:

Weighted MTF for 28 mm: f4 0.76. f8 0.81
Weighted MTF for 60 mm: f4.2 0.78. f8 0.81
Weighted MTF for 135 mm: f4.5 0.70. f8 0.75
Average Weighted MTF: 0.77 Grade: 3.6

Data from Photodo.com

What do these numbers mean? The higher the scores, the better the contrast and resolution of the lens. A 3.6 grade is extremely good for a zoom lens. A grade above 4 is only seen in dedicated Macro lenses, the finest primes and some G series lenses. No other Minolta zooms compare to the 28-135.

2179  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 5 Gold Coin Proof Set from Germany $798 -- Price Lowered on: April 29, 2012, 05:38:02 PM
Bump, Price lowered to $798 - Bargain Investment at this price!

Gold is soon going to be trading at $5000/oz.
what have you been smoking? it's not even $2000/oz yet

Its called inflation. Noticed how oh... practically EVERYTHING you buy has at least doubled in cost? how about all the food containers getting bigger but the actual bags of food getting smaller. It is starting, just wait for them to announce QE4. $5000 is a CONSERVATIVE estimate. You might think thats crazy, but you might also be eating out of the garbage of people like him in less than a year.

Just like real estate was, gold is a bubble too.  It might get up to $2000/oz and hover there, but it is not going to $5000/oz any time in the next five years.

Tell me a bit more about the radio.  What is the condition of the case?  Does it work?  Is the sound clear or does it have a buzz to it?
