2161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 06, 2022, 12:00:48 PM
I miss the days when there were also world title fights in the undercards. Legendary Manny Pacquiao for instance used to defend his title while on the undercards like during the Lewis-Tyson fight. Glorious days for boxing. Now it's all about playing safe and money.

Boxers these days are moving like they were the promoters or organizers rather than boxers, they are too attached and more interested to know the money business instead of focusing in making their own legacy to be known in the industry just like the good old days. Probably the reason why almost all known boxers in the industry had built their own promotional company after their professional years.
I guess the boxers really wanted to know how much they are making and probably wanted to know if their promoters are really paying them for how much they worth.

We all know that in the past, boxers like Floyd decided to be their own manager and challenge Bob Arum that time because he wanted more. And so he is partly to blame for boxers now becoming businessman and wanted to know the business side of boxing, instead of just focusing on the fight itself.

We can understand that boxers nowadays would like to level up on the earnings of the promoter, they seemed to think that they are the one investing money to make the right happen, I'd say it's a wrong attitude, that's being greedy, but then, I could be wrong though, just stating my personal opinion.
But it doesn't mean that they are greedy any way, as I have said, you need to know not just how much money go are getting, but the overall value of your fight based on who is your dance partner. Maybe there will be fights that you wonder why you get less money as compare to lets say facing fighter A, something like that and hope you get my point. It's not greedy per definition, yes maybe it's going to be complicated for them, but if they see themselves as businessnman then nothing is wrong with that I would say.
Usually fighters would only demand high if they are already popular, but they need to think on how the promoters are investing them when they are still starting, that's a debt of gratitude although we call it business, we have different views though that's just like a boxer is different from other boxers.
2162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Fernando Martinez vs Jerwin Ancajas rematch - Oct.8 on: October 06, 2022, 11:27:50 AM

Finally, odds are up and i'm good with the ML but i'll be pushing the bet button 12 hours before the fight, there might be significant changes by that time.

Looks very attractive, I'm sure I'm going to put a decent amount on Ancajas to win. The odds now are the opposite of the first match, so maybe Ancajas will try to be better and win this fight, good luck to us mate.
2163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Haney vs Kambosos II (Undisputed) on: October 05, 2022, 02:51:37 PM

I'm a fan of Davis, and also a fan of Ryan Garcia, I think things will be different once they are in the ring, and I believe that Ryan Garcia has the advantage due to his height and reach, and take note, he is also quick.

No doubt that would be a must-watch fight and if ever Garcia wins, he is undoubtedly a great boxer if he beat Davis without any injury. Ryan Garcia should really consider fighting worthy opponents nowadays since he already fought a number of nobody boxers and with their current popularity and Davis, it will surely be a blockbuster hit and adding up with some roasting against each other before the fight, I tell you, that would be one of the high revenue fights this year.

That's the kind of break he needed, beating a real champion will silence his doubters and he will gain their respect. Garcia has to be more aggressive in choosing an opponent, fighting champions will certainly fast-track him to where he wants to go, and that is a success.
2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 05, 2022, 02:24:17 PM

I don't know mate, but all I know is that Blackwater has upset the SMB in their first game. Blackwater had a huge run in the 4th quarter, Amer and Ayunayun were the heroes on that game, congrats to them, I think SMB cannot beat the Bay Area Dragons with their performance.

Moving to this topic, I didn't watch the whole game but my social media account is full of game highlights, the last minute plays that upset the last season champ. that passed from Perez gave Ayunayun that chance to complete his heroic game winner. Congrats Bossing a coming back from behind rally and completing the snatch.

That was a careless pass, it was well anticipated by Ayunayu and that sealed a win for the team. It was really entertaining as we are all expecting here that SMB will just dominate the Blackwater, but it turns out, they are really a real deal.
2165  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it best to have a personal trading strategy? on: October 05, 2022, 12:33:45 PM
Having your own method is beneficial, but incorporating other people's concepts into your trading plans is never a good idea. Most of the time, I merely imitate other people's positions, but I always have the option to change course if I believe my position isn't the greatest. It's better to assess the market before using your approach or someone else's technique since, of course, you're not always in the black.
It is not about incorporating concepts but we use others' ideas to make our own and make them even better. In fact, I'd learn trading by watching online tutorials, I copy their method and strategies in trading. But I'd see that was an effective strategy to follow that is why I'd leveled it up and created my own. Maybe for some reason, we retain those ideas we've learned from others and I never find it wrong as long as it works well, and we are comfortable with it.
2166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: we deserve to have bitcoin on: October 05, 2022, 08:37:53 AM
Honestly, we have been given an equal chance to buy Bitcoin but unfortunately, not all take and consider this as an opportunity. Perhaps, many people (majority) are just ignoring this and even talk negatively, a scam, a Ponzi scheme. Now, many of these people had realized, yet it was late already as the price of Bitcoin is going high and expensive, unlike 10 years ago.

Yes, we deserve to have some but also, we have to trust Bitcoin first and do something to have it, not just sitting down and waiting.
2167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does new projects succeed in bear on: October 04, 2022, 10:44:03 PM

It's clear and we know that new projects will eventually fall too it won't be profitable for investors it's better to get out of the zone and invest in tokens that have been traded for a long time in the market it will be more ideal than just trying their luck on new projects hoping there will be that high return is bullshit.
Even I am not sure at the same time that the promoter is a famous figure but in the end they have not earned the trust of investors and more on Bitcoin which is the number 1 coin.

We can really see a number of dead projects during the bear season and the majority of them are new projects that have no working products.
A reason why we should be smart enough to choose projects to invest in and considering the usual happening during this bear season, it is better to stay away from these new projects but rather choose those projects that are already been established well as likely it was an assurance for us.
2168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Now is the perfect time to invest in Bitcoin on: October 04, 2022, 09:57:06 PM
This is certain, but many people still believe that we have not reached the bottom yet and they are waiting for the price of Bitcoin to fall further, the price is now very suitable to buy but we can see the price drop again, so following the DCA strategy will be the best solution to get the best average price . I don't expect there to be a big rally in the near term so it's best to buy whenever the opportunity presents itself.
Although we haven't bottomed out yet, the price is now worth buying while we wait for the bottom price. But we never know how deep the price of bitcoin will go and we can only buy at any price bottom, hoping we can make a big profit when the price reverses.

Yes, the DCA strategy would be a good strategy to implement because we can buy at any lowest price. So prepare your capital to be able to buy again.
If we have a plan to invest in crypto, we better do it now and take this huge market deduction as an opportunity. I'd see some people are still waiting for the bottom price and I don't think that is necessary knowing that we never know when it comes. As for me, the current price is really good enough to start with not worrying it drops more because after this bear season we are likely to recover and soon bullish.

2170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 04, 2022, 12:50:53 PM
I particularly know that many people go for Inoue, his category and way of fighting shows that he is a boxer who manages to do many things accurately and efficiently, I think these things are good to take into account, but Butler has many good things and characteristics special ones that can make you give a big surprise.

I wonder what are these characteristics that will surprise us.  Can you give a sound example of that characteristics and why you think it will give us a big surprise?  Butler maybe not worn out due to the long period of interval per fight but I do not think Inoue had started deteriorating yet.  Besides statistics wise and opponent wise, Inoue had fought much better opponent than Butler had (except for Tete) and defeated them all.

Good question, I don't see anything special as well to Butler that will give us a big surprised and upset Inoue for the unification. No disrespect, if him and Casimero may have fought, I will favor the Filipino over Butler. But since Butler won the fight against the replacement Sultan then it's his chance to face Inoue right now. But you gave a strong point that most of his opponents or the quality is not the same as what Inoue has fought and he all defeated him. Tete was knockout by Casimero if my memory serves me right.

The betting odds proved that Casimero was the better fighter, in fact, Casimero was the heavy favorite to win that fight if it did happen.

Casimero is a huge betting favorite for this weekend’s bout against Butler with odds ranging from -2000 to -3400.

It looks similar to the betting odds of Inoue in this fight.
2171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Privilege to teach Bitcoin in church on: October 03, 2022, 09:59:09 PM
I'd be kinda fine with this as long as you didn't recommend people to buy bitcoin, and if you made it very clear that bitcoin is a very risky hold(which it looks like you did inform them based on the flyer).

While there's nothing really wrong with doing this in the church, it'd be better if you did it somewhere else as some charlatan might use these photos saying that people are promoting ponzi schemes in your church.
Teaching is not prohibited in any place as long as the place is conducive to learning. However, since the topic is quite controversial, then i agree that you should have done it outside the church. That way, you can avoid some future issues. I'm just glad to know that there are really some of your learners who eventually become interested in bitcoin after you teach them. Just never convince them to buy and hold bitcoin, because it should be their own will so that whatever happens to their investment, you will never be the one to blame.
There is a right place to do this and I agree, this shouldn't be done inside the church as it was a sacred place.

It was been looking good that there is a growing interest in the community. Well, teaching these people is not hard knowing that they will certainly listen and their minds are wide open to understand how this works. It simply won't be done easily, probably not in a single day but I was sure these people who see the potential of Bitcoin will get what it deserves them. As the discussion continue, they find out that those who say it was scam or ponzi are wrong.
2172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 03, 2022, 01:58:51 PM
I wonder where is Andray Blatche now, he has contributed a lot in the past years with Gilas. The other naturalized player that the Gilas have since that player will replace Clarkson is Kouame. I think that having Brownlee in the pool is a good addition, I'm thinking about the possible chemistry and confidence that he's got since he has played with Filipino teammates ever since.

Maybe he is still playing in some international leagues, and he is also old now with the age of 35 years old. The Gilas were the better team with him, but not only because of him, it's because they have a  good coach who knows how to use the players.
I've seen how hard they're playing and with an actual heart when he's with the Gilas. But I guess, it just so happen that other leagues and players are stepping up and most fans' expectation is also increasing. Based on Google, he's already 36 years old.
I've looked at his official Twitter account and the last tweet that he made was on September 2019 and that's already 3 years since he's with the team. Time really flies so quick.

His last season is 2016–17 with Xinjiang, I think it's a team in China, that's according here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andray_Blatche

Well, I guess he is now resting, or probably have retired in basketball already, but if Gilas will look for a big man, it should be a young one that can still play heavy minutes and will be a huge help to the team.
2173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 03, 2022, 01:18:37 PM
I also love how Sotto played, he scored a double-digit and was effective on the court.

He is given some minutes now unlike his first year on the team. And it is good that he is showing up and not wasting the opportunity to show his talent with the minutes the coach has given him. I hope he continues his good performance since NBL has started its regular season as well.

He is still young, his NBA dream is not over yet.

As long as he continues to play, he will continue to learn and eventually improve, and maybe a few years from now we will see him as the first pure-blooded Filipino in the NBA. He got the height, he can shoot outside, what's lacking in him is his maturity and which can be earned through experience, also, he needs to grow his body.
2174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin should I invest in other than bitcoin? on: October 03, 2022, 12:13:48 PM
Bitcoin is the right way for us to invest. But don't ever think that it's only btc that gives us the opportunity to make a profit. There are several alts that also provide opportunities to benefit us all, including eth, bnb, matic, sol and many more. But for the long term investment btc, eth and bnb are the main choices
I even think that matic and sol is suited for long term holding simply because it isn't as fluctuative as the rest coins out there like meme coins in general so holding it long term will be ideal for the likes of sol and matic.
moreover investing in alts in general have bigger chance of giving good returns even though you should remember that these coins also have higher volatility which means higher chance of losing your money.
Not all altcoins will give good returns as not all of them are valuable but instead, altcoins will somehow give you a terrible losses if you fall into scam and worthless project as it was flooded in the market already. Matic and Sol will have the potential but I suggest not to put huge amount in this projects, you instead put it to BTC and ETH for they are very known for long-term investment.
2175  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: One way to avoid scam wallets on: October 02, 2022, 10:27:40 PM
Many people fall into using scam wallets because they don't bother themselves to even just read reviews and simple research.
Well, we could say the forum could help but just like the other members are saying here, this Forum is not the only place to say that wallet is trusted or not. You can find a lot of online reviews aside from here but the question is " if we are also reading it?"

In fact, play store has been known to have a huge number of scam wallets but we still found one legit or more, and that is because we care to read feedback from those who use it first. If we are actually doing this, I believe we never fall into scam wallets.
2176  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My thoughts and now my experience. on: October 02, 2022, 12:09:43 PM
...all I can say to the newbies is that grow your brain before you try to grow your portfolio.

Good advice, but i believe newbies will be just like you, only after experiencing bitter loss of money will they realize that new knowledge is the first thing required in this market before you want to grow or earn money in the market. I myself used to be like that, didn't listen to anyone's advice, just followed what I thought and only when I really lost did I realize that everyone's advice is correct word for word. That's why I have very little advice for newbies, I also want them to experience to have the most authentic view of the market, I think there is no better free lesson than a paid lesson.
It was very common for us, we tend to open our minds and be even more careful after tragic losses. I understand this thing as I was also in that situation before but yes, as long as we do listen to others and are able to anticipate any possibilities that will happen next, in this way we minimize the risk and unacceptable ending.

We probably don't have a good start investing crypto but at least we still able to survive and continue trusting despite the bad experience.
2177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: September 30, 2022, 09:18:36 PM
What do you expect from a son when his father is such a role model.
The same feather flocks together. This means that what has been done by the father will possibly be followed by his son. If he is a gambler, then we can expect that one of the family members will do the same.
Quote
On one hand you should keep your children out of trouble, but it gets hard when you cannot keep yourself out of it and the child sees it. Like when the father parties every weekend it's hard to expect the son to be a quiet kid who doesn't want to do the same. It's a well known fact that when children are beaten by their parents they often beat their children later in life.
If you don't want your kids to be gamblers at least don't show them how you gamble. Keep them away from this life.
It was totally in the control of the parents but somehow, kids can't be blamed as well because that is what they see. In fact, many cases happen where your kid does gambling secretly, and it was easy for them now since there are several online casinos which is hard to monitor. If we don't want to see our son do gambling, then we also have to decide to stop gambling as well so you have an excuse not allowing him.
2178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: regulating cryptocurrency on: September 30, 2022, 08:58:32 PM
All countries have regulating about cryptocurrency exactly with exchange market account due need pass KYC process for withdrawing, except with several countries regulated about which one available coins for listing on the market or not.
You're wrong, NOT all. Not all countries have concerns about crypto and some of them never mind about it and just let their people do buy and sell. It was just the exchanges themselves asking for KYC, not because they are pushed by the government (maybe in some areas). Maybe we could see all of the countries will impose those regulations but for now, it was just a few to have the urge to do this because they found out that this was used for criminal activities like money laundering and fraud.
2179  Economy / Speculation / Re: Purchased at $23,500, when should I start to panic? When should I average down? on: September 30, 2022, 01:12:43 PM
snip~
Not that I think it was a big mistake that needs to regret but it was accepted being in the wrong timing because we never know if the market will pump after buying. Because even if you are good in TA, sometimes you fail and this means that the market is unpredictable. You will just get worried if the price of Bitcoin will reach $10k but as it was still above it then, I suggest make yourself calm and have some space in crypto. Better not to think about your investment as this time as this will certainly bothering you and might think about selling which could make you lose.
I agree, there is a good chance that we could go back above 23.5k very soon, I feel like we already reached those levels since OP started right? I mean it feels like it did reach those places. At the end of the day bitcoin is a volatile thing and but we shouldn't be really worried about the current situation, just look at the volatility and how it could get you to a higher level and that would be something profitable for all of us.

I want it to be something good and as long as it is good, we should not be worried because bitcoin has never let us down. If you are ever worried just look at the past crashes and how all of them recovered after a while.
Precisely, there is success if we are too impatient and worried about every drop that we see. As the market prices keep on changing from time to time, we gonna expect such a terrible drop but because we trust Bitcoin and we know the capability of this project to recover, nothing we have to think about it. I think, even 100 years from now the same story we are still able to hear - worries are still in our minds if we keep thinking about the negatives. It is a need for us to change and OP must have to stop bothering himself because of the drop or else, emotions will tend to grow fast.
2180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That's why I really like bitcoin :) on: September 30, 2022, 12:27:05 PM
There is nothing to dislike about Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a very popular currency around the world Soon Bitcoin will launch its own transaction in every world With the way people are getting interested in Bitcoin, we can see the better position of Bitcoin in the last few years. And an investment currency good enough to invest in That's why everyone loves Bitcoin.
Bitcoin is very popular but not as a currency, it was indeed a known investment that most people participated in this time. In fact, it was compared to the stock market and any form of huge investments existed. MAYBE in the future could be one of the most used currencies globally but for now, it was just considered a profitable investment.

As a currency, as an investment - these are the reason why people love this.
