1321  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing Addiction. on: April 30, 2023, 10:56:35 PM
Do you consider that kind of addiction dangerous and not good?
Abuse, addictions, and over-spending habits - all of these things result in no good.
But it seems not a very usual thing to happen in investing because investors are smart as I think. They put money for the reason that it grom more, unlike gambling which leads to losing more. Though we can say it was not right from getting into investment addiction, however, thinking that it multiply our money in the future, is somewhat of a great addiction happening to us.
1322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: April 28, 2023, 08:36:08 PM
...
host nations should not be provided with automatic qualification. They need to qualify through the qualifier tournaments, just like the other teams.
While this would be the fairest option this is never going to happen, if I am not misremembering there was a time in which the world cup champion was also given an automatic qualification to the next world cup so they could defend their championship and later this rule was abolished, and in theory it would make sense for the host nation to also be forced to qualify on their own, but this is about money, and if this rule was abolished all host nations on their bid to win the rights to host the world cup will ask for automatic qualification anyway.

It's a good thing that particular rule was abolished much earlier because if that happened now, especially in the next World Cup, it will be too unfair to the other participants because three national teams will be given the advantage to automatically qualify up until the FIFA World Cup 2023. Anyway, by now, we should be already accustomed by it as that rule was already a tradition these days that the host countries will have that kind of advantage. Even the other teams that are participating the said event already accepted the fact.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: April 28, 2023, 06:07:21 PM
And for this WBC bout, Donaire vs Santiago. I read an article that this fight might happen somewhere during the summer in United States, which explains why up to now we don't have any news about them. Let's see in the next few weeks if there are some good news as this might take place in July or August if I'm not mistaken.

Yea, I might read that same article few days ago when I was browsing about some updates on this fight as it's really confusing why they don't have any updates. I tried to find it again but I cannot see it but that specific article really makes sense why we do not have any news about them because summer in US was their forecasted date, so that gives them a lot of time to prepare and rectify somethings about their negotiation.

While waiting for that news, let's enjoy ourselves from this upcoming fight of Moloney vs Astrolabio. This will be a good past time and I sense that we might see another Filipino boxer will upset another favorite just like what Tapales did to Murodjon.
1324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 28, 2023, 04:35:50 PM
Judging the Celtics performance against the Hawks, they weren't that impressive to me and because of that, I think that a healthy Sixers can eliminate them.

The 76ers will be the underdog in their matchup, and that's a good point of view because the 76ers' defense was really impressive in the first round. It's the offensive team versus the defensive team, and normally, the defensive team will win (except for the Warriors), so let's see.

According to the series betting odds, the Celtics are heavy favorites to win the series:

Celtics 1.32
76ers 3.45

The series handicap is -1.5 for the Celtics.

It might be a trap because the handicap is somehow much lower compared to the listed odds where the 76ers are 3:1 underdogs, but who knows, nothing is certain because we've already come and faced lot of surprises already in the 1st round. This will be a tough match-up and Celtics might bounce back after having a bad performance in the 1st round with the Atlanta Hawks.
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 28, 2023, 01:44:28 PM
Miami winning over Bucks is a great proof that basketball is an amazing game, the best record team of this season, ended up losing to 8th seed with one guys sheer willpower and amazing talent. Jimmy Butler just dissected all of Bucks team, obviously Giannis being injured helped Miami seal this win.

That injury indeed gave the Miami Heat a two game advantage because when Giannis was injured in Game 1 after having a bad fall on his back, that pave a way for the opposing team to dominate the game as just like I've mentioned, Giannis skipped two games because of it. Fortunately, the Bucks hustled to force a victory even without Giannis in Game 2 which tied the series but after that game, the Heat mainly Butler figured out the Bucks gameplay and didn't gave them a chance anymore.

But still, Giannis could not carry his team, as he did not win a game when he came back. I think Giannis is a good player, but not really a great player, unlike Butler, who can really carry a team. Although Giannis won once, he does not have the heart of a champion. The Bucks' collapse was a big disappointment, and it may be because Giannis did not have the same kind of energy he had when they won the championship.

As usual, if this team remains intact next season, they might dominate the regular season again but will disappoint us in the playoffs.
1326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I will never own a whole Bitcoin and that's okay on: April 28, 2023, 11:39:02 AM
never say never. Wealth can fall on you at any moment. The second moment, if you set yourself the goal of earning 1 Bitcoin, you can handle it, there are a lot of opportunities for this now and I think you yourself know this. Thanks to the forum and the companies that spend here, as it is possible here get new knowledge and profit, and if you combine all this, you will have a positive result.
Maybe you have a point but I understand why some people are saying this because they are already contented with their achievements. Maybe you think that achieving and storing 1BTC is easy for you but never think that others have the capability to own it as well. Might say it was our mindset and the urge to get but can't hide the fact that some people choose not to get but instead, they make their money rolling - buy and sell. Actually, to be here in the crypto space is not all about owning 1BTC but we are here to make money every day as possible.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: April 28, 2023, 10:55:10 AM
What OP says is very true, many must learn or know how to play, especially when they are new, but in general terms when we enter a casino we usually get very excited, but here the important thing is to know how to bet and have the money ready to "lose" in a casino, but not to think about what you can win, because it is more feasible to lose than to win, if we think that way it can happen, otherwise I think that is when all the problems begin, I already know about addiction and everything that triggers.

Responsible gambling could mean knowing when to gamble, how to gamble, the amount to use in gambling and why they are taking every necessary steps in gambling activities, we must be able to give  account on how we spend our money on what we do while gambling, when we go to the casino, we should always have it in mind that we may win or loose, that doesn't affect our decision from gambling, it's our choice to make this happen if we are truly interested in gambling, nothing can stand a barrier for us from enjoying gambling either winning or losing.
That is supposed to happen but what went wrong is that most new gamblers have a hard time adjusting their emotions. Because at the moment they win, they will then think that they will the next round. But when they experience losses, they will become desperate and chase their losses and double their bets thinking that would help them to recover. Until now, I would say that only a few gamblers know how to become a responsible gambler while the majority had already fallen into addiction and lost control of their emotions.
1328  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some common ways to discover phishing attacks on: April 28, 2023, 09:11:58 AM
That's it OP, common errors are easy to find but if you are not reading it several times, even a simple typo can't be noticed until the time you reviewed it. I believe we are aware of these things but unfortunately, still, a number of individuals got compromised their accounts for negligence. Even though we discuss this several times and make all people aware of this technique, we can't assume that everyone will avoid this. Honestly, we can't assure that we are totally safe, not this time as these scammers are also too smart.
1329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What went wrong with bitcoin! Reply on: April 28, 2023, 06:45:36 AM
...
The OP has only focussed on "The price" and "The market" and "Investment", Bitcoin has
a lot more to offer, its just a pity that it seems they are overlooked even when explaining
Bitcoin.
There might be wrong with his explanation to that person but this person also must also to look for other sources of information to gather more ideas, not just be reliant on him. Because if he does, he would not ask why it happen to his investment but unfortunately, the blame brings back to the person who introduces it to him.
Perhaps, it was a lesson to learn, and we should not encourage someone to invest in Bitcoin if they don't understand how it works. Let them decide, not us. And yes, we don't just mention earning huge profits but also have to mention possible losses.
1330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your money in bank? on: April 28, 2023, 06:23:06 AM
Keeping your money in the bank is like stocking at the bus stop, just like I have told many people who have sought my views and advice on similar topics, banks are bus stops we use our money to move from one place to another.

So bank can't be taken as a destination since with a bank you are not in control of your money and also you are vulnerable to various forms of bank injustice and inflation.

Because what happens here is that the banks keep your money and give you assurance of money back to whatever happens to them. They give you a certain percentage of storing your money but not mentioning where there use that money until such time leaks come out that the banks use our money to generate more income while giving us depositors cents, and it opened up our minds.
But despite this thing, banks can be trusted but at this time, saving is not the best option rather make a decision to invest as this is a great option when thinking about growing our money.
1331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will April be a red month? on: April 27, 2023, 09:51:21 PM
Anything can happen, especially since the price drops to $28k or $27k. We are at the end of the month but the price has just gone up to $29k so it's possible the price will still be at $29k or go up to $30k. It's still hard to predict because we know the price could go anywhere and we don't have any valid clues.
Well, at least the drop isn't really a worse situation and this seems normal in the market. And I would take this drop not enough to make the market in red again and of course, not worthy to worry as we believe that it rises again. Might this month of April end up at $27k - $30k, I was then thinking that the next month is possibly high. The market can't move fast due to changing behavior of the holders and we can really feel the huge impact of these panic sellers on the price trend. That is why if we had a pump today, dumps can be possibly seen tomorrow or in the next few days.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 27, 2023, 08:48:22 PM
Celtics vs Hawks.

The line opened at +5.5 for the home team and is now at +7.5. Probably a lot of money is going to the Celtics, thinking the series will end tonight. Well, let's see about that, as it could be another scenario like the Miami Heat vs Bucks game.

The edge is all on the Hawks here. They have momentum from the big win on the road, and Murray is back after his Game 1 suspension. So, I don't see any reason why not to take the Hawks moneyline.
1333  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Staking really great way in crypto wealth on: April 27, 2023, 11:22:57 AM
Staking when price fall you just buy more and put in to staking once price goes up you don't need to sell it you continue to staking so after u earn more.
The new feature on exchangers the EARN could be one of the best ways to earn income some of them Even no lock up or little as 14 days.
No liquitation risk and you sleep well newbie friendly method..instead of trading off course If you know what you doing trading good Also but staking Are great one.
Never think that staking will give you a decent profit while holding and besides, this is too risky on your part. I'm not going to stop you but I like to help you out from thinking that this is a good solution to earn more without doing anything because the reality is that, it is just only a penny.
Trading is way better but I don't ask you to do that if you are not knowledgeable about this otherwise, you are just throwing your money into the other hands. For any of these strategies and ways of earning, you must have to choose reputable exchanges, most especially if you are staking.
1334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Any advice for invest my first 600$ in altcoins? on: April 27, 2023, 09:12:05 AM
Are you relying on Ultracoin instead of Bitcoin?  Since you are a newbie you should invest in Bitcoin. Because early BTC investment for newbies will give good profit.Investing in new ultracoins is very risky.  600$ is very good money to invest.  Although the ultracoins you mentioned are very good coins especially BNB and ETH, it is better to research and analyze before doing so.Among the ultracoins, BNB and ETH are very good investments.  Because these coins are risk free.I don't rely too much on the new ultra coins. There is fear of losing money.
I guess you miss something that OP said and I believe he is not new in the crypto market as he already has enough amount of Bitcoins invested already. And aside from having BNB and ETH on his hands, he now has the plan to invest more in altcoins to take advantage of the situation while the market is preparing for the halving and the upcoming bull season.
And he might be mentioning Ultracoin but not I think we would love to choose it as it was one of his options. He asking what is best and I would suggest taking a look at ARB or other projects. Of course, must stay away from meme coins.
1335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid a scam project? on: April 27, 2023, 03:01:15 AM
There are so many new projects launching everyday and some of them can be good and some of them can be a scam as well. How can we identify it well? Perhaps we should have more discussion about it so we all can learn from everyone's experience.
And talking about identifying well, that is hard to do knowing that scammers are smart too. They keep improving their strategies which makes it hard to detect if it was a scam until someone claims that they got scam. It is too unfortunate that yeah, someone had to lose their money before the community become aware of the situation. And I believe that everyone is aware of this thing but guess what, because of greed and the instinct of many people to -instant rich, many still fall into scam projects.
1336  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner mistakes and how to avoid them on: April 26, 2023, 10:10:11 PM
Most of the newbies in crypto space believe once they have a large capital they will definitely succeed in the crypto space, but they are wrong, not knowing that if you can't grow/manage a small account, you can't grow/manage a big account either, their are common mistakes they usually make an I will be giving out tips on how to avoid them,
* Over trading-- it's very important for a day trader to limit the number of trade he/she took in a day.
* Lack of trading plan-- develop a strategy an stick to it, do not ever enters a trade blindly, if not the market will remove you blindly.
* Failure to use stop-loss-- to me it's the most important thing I do while trading, an it's always close to my entry price, I do it that way so that if the trade didn't go as planned, I won't lose more than 10% of my margin.
I don't if anyone have more to add, so I can also learn?
These are just some reasons but the mean reason why a newbie usually had fail is because of uncontrollable emotions.
Because even you have a concrete plan and use effective strategies but if you were still get affected easily by the FUDs and negative news, I was certain that you will get out of focus and in your plan. You will go in a different direction because what it dictates to you now is your mind, not the plan that you have set.
Experience will teach everything and mistakes will then open our mind where we got wrong. So, don't get afraid of losing because this will lead us the way to improve ourselves
1337  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum not opening on: April 26, 2023, 09:44:48 PM
This situation happens to me quite often. When I start my portable Electrum, it may not start, but in the Task Manager there will be an open and running process electrum.exe. Moreover, neither Windows itself can close this process, nor any third-party process killer. I am forced to reboot the system. There is no other way.

P.S. I have no viruses and other stuff. System is official licensed, pristine clean.
OP has already found the issue and it was because his Electrum wallet was not updated to the latest version. I believe it was the same experience that you have with OP so I guess, you need also some upgrades of your wallet.

I'd see that upgrade is very important, even in other applications and our devices as it will affect the performance. This is what I usually did, maybe this is the reason why I'd never experienced this thing. It is also important to look for antiviruses and some apps making lagging on the computer for this will cause delays as well.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 26, 2023, 09:19:15 PM

Anything can happen though, but this Atlanta Hawks is also a team that is underrated but can't be underestimated. As we all know, it was a team effort with of course the help of Trae Young in the absence of Murray, but in Game 6, I believe the latter will be return and that will bring another obstacle for the Celtics. Nevertheless, this will be a fun game and I'd would love this see their series drag up to Game 7.

If the Bucks win today, both the Bucks and Celtics series could reach Game 7, which isn't what we were expecting, but anything can happen as you said. Just imagine how big of an upset it would be if the play-in winners upset the number 1 and number 2 teams in the NBA - it's insane, right?

Anyway, let's see if the Bucks can bounce back huge on their home court. Giannis should be 100% now, though.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 26, 2023, 01:03:17 PM
I have a feeling that all the home teams will win and cover the spread, as well as end the first round series with a victory.

Therefore, my bets are:

Boston Celtics -13
Denver Nuggets -9.5,
and Phoenix Suns -12.5.

I believe these games will result in a blowout win for the home teams.

Tough luck for me - none of my best bets have won because the underdogs fought hard, and the Atlanta Hawks even won their game against the Celtics. But that's part of gambling - you don't win all the time. With that loss, I'm inclined to bounce back tomorrow with a bet all in on the Warriors. Double or nothing, here we go.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 26, 2023, 12:10:58 PM
Ryan Garcia has an issue regarding on his past depression so lets hope this will not came up to him and he don't take those lose as total big deal on his career since he can bounce back after that big lose of his career.

He just need to learn from what he experience to Tank Davis since it can help to his career if he strive more to became more better fighter and let that lost as big learning experience to him. Maybe for now Gervonta Davis is to much for him and he should do better more once their rematch will be set to happen again.
He did? I didn't know about that. He is still young and I don't know what people at this age are depressed about. I mean, it's the part where you just enjoy being young.
But yes, perhaps this first important loss will have an effect on him.
He looks good at the post-game interview and I do believe he can absorb all the bashing that will come to him. At these bad times, his family, cornermen, and gym friends will help a lot to boost him again and point him in the right direction which is getting over it and being better on his next fight.
There's so much room for improvement in that young kid. If he can just strengthen his right then he will be unstoppable. Other boxers will have a hard time finding his weakness.
What's important is that he makes a lot of money in this fight.

https://www.sportskeeda.com/pro-boxing/news-how-much-gervonta-davis-make-ryan-garcia-here-s-estimate-fight-purse
Quote
His opponent Garcia is set to earn a guaranteed purse of $2.5 million. However, his actual payout will be much higher since he is expected to have a 50 percent stake in the pay-per-view numbers. The former WBC interim lightweight champion might see a pay-day of nearly $5 million.

His career is not yet over. There's still more to come for him, and he'll be able to recover from this big loss as long as he knows how to accept defeat. With that attitude, a big fight will surely come for him again. There are many great boxers who are not undefeated, and Garcia could be one of them.
