1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel selling your BTC against your plans? on: March 10, 2023, 01:10:44 PM
I have come across such a situation severely and this is the worst moment and decision for any Bitcoin holder, but then we know why we keep bitcoin since Bitcoin become our alternative to fiat.

-worst case scenario is when you sell way below the price you bought it, but one of the best thing to do is to build an alternative sources of income that could support you through those bad times, so that your Bitcoin will not become the only source.

This is the challenge every bitcoiner come across, if not for problems we would have much Bitcoin in our wallet, but the financial challenges that comes our way shouldn't be an excuse of not accumulating much btc to hodl.

Financial challenges will always be, therefore it is important we look for away to increase source of income by getting a side job that can help and enable us to invest bitcoin well without limitation called financial challenge.
Investing should be planned well in order to avoid financial problems and losses.
Well, we could assume that Bitcoin will exist and increase its value in the future but honestly, not all are able to hold long-term. The truth is that even though we are too optimistic about Bitcoin, worries are still on our minds thinking "what if the market will collapse". A kind of thinking that we can't deny it influence our decisions and most likely when the market storm comes we easily got panic and sell our coins.
1502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: March 10, 2023, 12:31:26 PM
When it comes to experience, I would say that Donaire would definitely dominate the ring, age might caught up to him, but, he would still find a way to show Santiago that he definitely deserved that title. But, if Donaire would be defeated, there is a higher chance that that would be his last battle, I think.

If Donaire would not retire after he is defeated, I think that it would have a hard time getting the title back as his.

Yes, that scenario is very much possible, but if this is going to be a close one, and Donaire losses it, then maybe we can a rematch. But if the fight is not even close and Donaire getting into the canvass and didn't win in the judges scorecard or getting knockout again, it's time for him to retire.

Because if he didn't then it might take some time for him to bounce (if there is no rematch), and by that time, he will be 40+ years old. And no way he can still fight as he might be just the stepping stone for this young fighters and we don't want to see that happen to Donaire.

Given that the fight's outcome was close and Donaire was defeated, they should make the rematch on this very same year as every time goes by, we know that age can be a bigger factor to a boxer's performance especially now that Donaire is already 40 years of age. But if it's the latter where Donaire was defeated without a doubt, I bet that his wife, his personal manager would force him to retire even if Donaire still wanted to fight.

I don't expect a close fight on this one, and if Donaire loses, I don't think he will win the rematch, just like what happened against Inoue. Donaire is getting older, but he wants to prove that he can still win a championship. This is his first and only chance. If he loses, he may announce his retirement and enjoy life after boxing.
1503  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 10, 2023, 11:26:15 AM
After being traded to Durant, the thing I feared most and always said was injury. Durant got injured after playing a few more matches, unfortunately he is old and I think that's why he can get injured more easily than other players. If he suffers such an injury during the playoffs, we won't see a good result for the Phoenix Suns.
The team needs Durant, I hope he recovers soon and doesn't get injured again

At 34 years old, in my opinion, is not considered old. Injuries can happen to anyone, even to players like Chris Paul. However, let's hope that Durant's injury is not serious, so he will be able to come back at the right time. There's no need to rush the situation; he can rest because his teammates are always there to support him and help the team win.
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is launching a new project during bear market a good idea?? 🤔 on: March 10, 2023, 08:15:22 AM
No its very bad timing for new project to enter on bear market season because many people are in hold position because they are afraid about the dumping stage happening in the market.

And pushing to launch a project in this situation might cause failure because provably there are low number of investors will support the project because majority are afraid to release some funds because either they are stuck and their balance is on exchange or maybe rather they don't also see this time as perfect time to invest since its risky for them.
It could be one reason but not all investors have that kind of mindset and just hold during the bear season because many of them are looking for a gem, particularly in new projects. However, it couldn't assure also that they will pick FireDAO in this case, unless they saw the potentiality of this project. It is very important for their team to make this project visible to the community as early as possible in order to assess it. Might not instantly get a bunch of investors but if they are useful to the community, not impossible for them to gain interest and more investors to come when the bull season comes.
1505  Economy / Economics / Re: Benefit from Higher Education? on: March 09, 2023, 09:49:39 PM
That is an example that I also very often find in my surroundings where in a family between father and mother only one of them has a job to support his family members even though the job he gets is not a permanent job. But what I really admire is that she is able to support her children by continuing to provide support to get a better education until her child gets a job that suits his skills and is also more suitable for him because it can make him more independent in living his life now.
My father worked very hard, he even had to leave a foreign country to provide for our family, these were difficult times for us, but then I did not fully realize how difficult it was for my father when he had to leave his family and to go away for a long time, now I understand it and really appreciate it!
Because he chose to give a better life to their family and even though it was sad to be far away from the family but it is a need to sacrifice for the sake of giving them a good living. Parents just look for the welfare of their family, to provide education for their kids as they believe that it will be the way to make them not experience of what their parents have done before. You should be thankful mate because many parents don't care about the future of their kids and they don't mind staying in their current situation until they die.
1506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 09, 2023, 03:15:17 PM

Trashtalking to sell this fight ain't necessary, they both are well knowned and both good in their own craft. Being as good as both of them will automatically attract boxing fans. I mean, who doesn't want to see a good fighters with both undefeated facing each other to determine who's better. Though, it doesn't end with just one match, a trilogy (if necessary) will finally determine who's really the best.

Both cannot avoid it, they have a dislike for each other, and the feeling is mutual for both of them, have you seen their first press conference something is brewing up, both fighters are each other stepping stones to greatness, and its a legacy fight, something we will all look back ten years from now and see this as a heated and great rivalry.
I like both fighters they can deliver the knockout that they want, it all goes up on who gets hits first and hard, no doubt about their punching power but ring generalship will play a major factor.
The ring generalship of Tank is good and that's what carries him in the Romero fight, but Goosen is on Garcia's corner so I'm sure they dwell on his ring generalship for this match.

trash talking from both sides makes this fight more popular we all know that trash-talking is part of the marketing strategy because we all know how it's gonna work, people around the world fee thrill if both fighter  trashtalking. And that strategies are very effective nowadays. But we we don't need to forget that the one who throw many words are the one who will win because in the final day They will show what they've got.

They definitely want to make more noise, which is why the trash-talking will never end. Ryan Garcia talks a lot, but I'm sure he worked hard for this fight. It cannot be denied that this is the biggest fight of his career. There were a lot of doubters for him in this fight, which is why Davis is the heavy favorite to win. However, it doesn't matter to Garcia as he is so confident that he could knock out Davis.
1507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 09, 2023, 02:15:43 PM

Los Angeles Clippers - Toronto Raptors - Los Angeles Clippers @ 1.72 - WIN
- Kawhi and PG lead the Clippers with a total of 47 points. I think it's good that the Clippers are limiting Westbrook's time and if you watched that game, they didn't let Westbrook play in the final minutes of the game because they knew that he is very bad in decision making especially in crucial times. Anyway, got the win. Smiley

The right thing to do, just like what the Lakers did with him, was to put him in the second unit as it improved their chances of winning in every game. So I guess it's better that way. It's a good thing they acted fast, otherwise, their playoff spot would have been at risk.
1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Caution Newbies Bitcoin is BTC on: March 09, 2023, 11:50:09 AM
Not that I see it was a trick but a person can read and know Bitcoin, it is impossible he got fooled into investing in other projects that he presume it was also Bitcoin. I'm not sure if newbies would still fall into a such thing because I know that they are also doing research prior to investing in crypto. If someone will invest bfiCoin, it was their choice, not because they'll think that they are still investing in Bitcoin. If that could be a mistake, I don't know if they were able to read it carefully or not.
1509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to better promote our project effectively ? on: March 09, 2023, 11:23:03 AM
Money had always been one of the necessities when it comes to promoting, every movement now needs payment.
I agree with some members' suggestions, social media outlets should be one of your targets. This forum too because you can interact with investors or those who are interested in what you are building.
I believe they have money enough for market promotions but what they need is to find an effective way to do that so they won't waste their money.
I agree social media is the best venue for promoting their projects but of course, it should be properly planned and let some influence work on it.
Quote
You can try by also bidding on the first page advertisements. I don't know what is the normal price now but I am sure it is not that expensive.
Signature campaigns are also a great help to promote, proven by old companies that stayed here. Just one click away from the investors in our signature and Voila! they are on your page.
It is indeed, this Bitcointalk is a huge forum already and it was enough to make their project become known to the community. However, if we are targeting more investors, we should maximize the use of the internet, not just in this forum only.
1510  Economy / Speculation / Re: Maybe it's time for BTC to take off and reach the $100K on: March 08, 2023, 10:10:53 PM
Bitcoin is not a joke but I do not think this year we will see $100000 I think we are more likely to see that when the halving has happened and there is not as much Bitcoin being mined. It might create a nice bull run because people have fomo and buy more. I hope it happens before he have too much adoption because people will just sell at $100k and never invest back into Bitcoin if it happens before we reach $100k.
It is difficult to keep the prices rising and even achieve $100k because of the new generation of investors, they are mostly impatient and short-term holders and they will sell when short-ups come. Meaning, we can never find a sustaining upward trend but rather expect it like a roller coaster as it pumps today and back down by tomorrow as these investors will sell their Bitcoin.

Even the adoption couldn't give us assurance as this only help to keep Bitcoin very active on the market. But if we think it will push to reach high due to increasing demand, I could not really expect it.
1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think there will ever be a technology that can replace Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2023, 09:42:36 PM
As long as people never find full satisfaction, innovation will come to fill it and it was possible that many years from now another technology would rise.

In fact, many years before we never think about this technology as we are already amazed by ATMs. But it was not the end of cashless developments, someone who really has the passion to do more discoveries will find another option and find Bitcoin and crypto technology. This will have no ending upgrades and we can't even be sure that maybe 5 years from now there is new.
1512  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 08, 2023, 01:26:15 PM

Next games will be after 6 days as we will see PBA going to another place for the All-Star. Anybody here that is living near the venue or at least will go and watch in person? Cheesy

Ahh, that's the reason why there's a six days gap of PBA games huh but i don't think that many fans are excited to see this non-sense All-Star game now.

I thought there was a game tomorrow, as I am used to betting on Thursdays. However, there is an All-Star game, so we have to take a break from betting. I believe there won't be any betting odds for the All-Star game. If there are any, then I will bet on the 3-point shooting. Do we already have a list of the participants in the 3-point shooting contest?
1513  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: March 08, 2023, 12:51:01 PM
Tank Davis knocks out Ryan Garcia. Garcia is too young and I think he is rushing his career too much and will pay the price. If he loses it will be a big set back in his career and he will find it hard to get the big fights again. I think he should wait until Tank gets older and Garcia can get some important fights in between and try to develop the ring experience he needs to beat a Tank.
Tank is 28 years old and Garcia is 24 years old, I don't think 24 years old is too young, take a look with Mike Tyson where his best performance was at 20-23 years old. It's true they're different, but that's a proof where 24 years isn't too young especially Garcia have started his career when he was at 18 years old. I don't see any excuse about age, reach, or total fights, both of them are similar, it just depends on their skills.

It's surely not based on the age but the maturity of a boxer, and I think Ryan Garcia is mature enough in the ring. He was once knocked down, and we all witnessed how he stood up and continued to fight. After that, he dominated his opponent and won via TKO. So, Ryan Garcia is a decent opponent for a very good boxer, Tank Davis, and I'm sure it will not be a one-sided beatdown.
1514  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 08, 2023, 11:30:21 AM
Now the Lakers are in the play-in tournament and we never expected this one to happen in their last games with Westbrook as soon as they released him, they managed to play well even without Lebron. AD is doing well these past few games and they are coming to get that number 6 slot if they continue to win in their next games as well. They can really do well even when they are only a few stars on the court and seems like AD is finding his right rhythm while playing today even though he injured his nose but he continues to dominate the game.
Not sure yet since they are just 1 win ahead compared to the 10th to 13th teams and they still have 16 games left before the Play-In Tournament. So it could change but as long as AD will remain probable and continue doing well, they have a better chance. They made a wise move by trading WB and just in time coz they badly needed a win as Regular Season is almost over. Even better for the Lakers if James will be listed as probable before Play-In.

Just in time before LeBron returns, AD and the Lakers are winning, which is a good sign that they are not struggling. It was a good decision to get rid of Westbrook, and now they are playing with great chemistry. Meanwhile, the LA Clippers are struggling. As long as the Lakers qualify for the play-in tournament, I would assume that they'll be in the playoffs.
1515  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Shiba Inu still worth it? on: March 08, 2023, 10:10:36 AM
but I'm no longer sure about Shiba, I see Shiba Inu as playing with all its holders, besides that I see Shiba Inu as needing investors who have the most wealth like Elon Musk, without any tweets from Elon Musk then this Shiba doesn't mean anything. well, thus in my opinion the shiba inu is not worth holding for a long time
Elon Musk has no participation with Shiba Inu, only for Dogecoin. If you think that Shiba Inu is useless, then was your take but many investors were still investing in this project despite the risk. Might you be right that this will become worthless in the future but nobody knows exactly, we never know if this is even more profitable than those leading altcoins? With that fact that Shiba is still hot in the market, it is possible to see this will stay long and gain more interest to the investors.
1516  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC would rise again? on: March 07, 2023, 09:49:28 PM
Of course, it rises again and this is what it was shown recently. The price is looking good again, slowly increasing but at least we see the light for improvement which could lead to another ATH in the coming days. However, a dump is inevitable as well knowing the fact that Bitcoin is volatile and it happens again and again.

We can't expect an instant rise/recovery but we are sure that it will happen. We are certain of this because of the 4-year market cycle.
1517  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and education on: March 07, 2023, 09:29:14 PM
The truth here is the fact that education doesn't equate to intelligence. One can read all he/she wants but if those things read are not put into action or your everyday routine, there's a high tendency that such a person won't prevail.
It depends in the quality education you are getting but applying it in real life will depend on yourself. Education may not be successful if you won't apply it in real life.
Then it is wasted. And I see some people like this, they earn a degree but never look for a job but just still rely on their parents to provide for their needs.
Someone's attitude and behavior are factors in success because even if you don't have a good education or earn a degree if you have a positive mindset and aggressive attitude to find ways to make money, you can do it.
It is indeed education is very important but if we never use it, that is useless. But overall, it is all about how we carry ourselves to find opportunities.
1518  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: March 07, 2023, 12:52:27 PM
What new things can we expect from him? I thought he had won all his fights after his defeat against Teofimo Lopez, which means he is still the same Loma who uses technical skills in the ring. Haney should be ready for Loma, although he looks strong, Loma is always prepared to face anyone, whether the favorite to win or the underdog.
He fought worse opponents after his defeat to Lopez probably as a confidence booster but he is not the fighter he was at his prime you can see how slow he is and how he has lost his agility. He used to change the angle of his shots regularly but he fights without that Loma flair he had at his prime. He is still a good boxer but he is not on Haney level. I want Loma to win and I thought he would at first but looking at videos Haney will probably knock him out.

I don't think he fought worse opponents, he did fight Nakatani, a fighter that gave Lopez hell in their fight, and even Lopez Sr acknowledge that. But as you pointed out, a out of prime Loma gave Nakatani a beating. And then he goes after a former champion in his next fight, Richard Commey, and then destroy him as well. Maybe he is already shot when he fought a young and upcoming boxer in Ortiz, but he still won that fight. So we shall see if he is no longer in his prime against Haney, and maybe this will be his excuse after he loss the fight.
That's a good point. We should examine if he is not in his prime anymore because, from what I can see, he is still fighting like he is in his prime. The thing is, when a boxer is no longer undefeated, people tend to think that he is not exciting to watch anymore or that he is out of his prime. However, later on, we come to realize that his losing experience made him a better fighter.
1519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: March 07, 2023, 11:57:39 AM

Even though Lakay is not the same as before but still he can guide those young guys to improve their performance on the court. But I doubt also that he can really help knowing the current situation and politics in PBA we cannot say that those action they do can really help the team could win a championship. Because most of the team go to finals recently are part of MVP or SMB group.

Converge is an independent team, but if the refs are favoring the more popular team, then I guess Converge will still lose. Besides, it's easy to justify because this team is led by young guys like Maverick Ahanmisi and Jeron Teng. So how about the import of Converge? Are they still continuing to use the services of Franklin?
1520  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with profitability on: March 06, 2023, 09:52:16 PM
$5 - $10 with a capital of $1000 on a daily basis is already good enough for me. The risk is too low and I don't have to make a lot if I do day trading.
I have seen folks that do trade with such huge capital and then try to achieve more than the capital and that's the riskier thing to do.
But as someone who wants to take lesser risk, I'll just take the easy way of not expecting a lot and not trying hard for me to have a simple and easier goal as I day trade.
This is indeed enough and with the volatility of Bitcoin, we can't expect a huge profit unlike when we are trading altcoins but the risks is too high.
Because as I compared to my friend who is using altcoins can make more than $10 a day if the market is good which means that the hype that these altcoins have could possibly make you earn more and this is quite impossible for Bitcoin. Well, of course, many traders use Bitcoin for safe play and if we are still learning, this is suitable pair to use.
