Edited, just forgot to add link. Thanks for point out. I don't think escrow holder should be tag. Perhaps he wasn't aware about their previous shady activity since it's too old accusation. I think it would be better is he return escrow fund and leave that campaign if he isn't hosted with Duck Dice. He knew; he is "close" with those people AFAIK. It would be very naive to think that the following two are true at the same time: 1) He didn't know. 2) He didn't question why it's a 1 post account and thus didn't find out about it.

Just be nice if the damn deleted post message gave a REASON why it was removed. and/or they just combined the posts.
That would add tremendous extra effort for the staff; not needed. Once you familiarize yourself with the rules, you are likely to know the reason for which it got deleted by just seeing which post got deleted.

I haven’t reviewed the scam accusation closely, however if it can be substantiated and is unresolved, no one should be advertising for them and anyone in their campaign should be made aware of the situation.
I believe that was the reason for which the signature campaign thread was created as self-moderated; this is very unusual practice for a signature campaign.

Are you going to revisit old account sellers, or, draw a line in the sand and adopt a "from this point on-wards" attitude?
From this point onwards, which is the reason I used the word "henceforth". Again, I'm speaking only for myself. If anyone feels differently about this and wants to aggressively pursue older examples of account sellers that didn't get tagged, they're free to do so. I think it'd be a waste of time and energy, though. Explicitly revisiting wouldn't make a lot of sense/be worth it; although you may encounter a thread or two every once in a while. No one should be selling accounts in 2019 and should know that buyers & sellers of them have been getting tagged since 2016 and should be familiar with all the reasons that have been given as to why account sales hurt the forum.
This. There is no excuse for doing this anymore.

1) Please provide link to old account directly in the thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=917361. 2) Notaek is complicit too IMO. Thanks for pointing this out. I knew something was off when I saw their signature campaign, I just couldn't remember what.
Tagged both. I'm very tired of the 'sweep under the rug' mentality. This might turn into a Betcoin 2.0 situation.

1. Never seen anyone here taking a valid reply personal and snarling "mind your business".
Sounds like Lauda. Once I start responding nicely everywhere you should start questioning whether I've gone crazy or whether this account has changed hands.
You've always been nice in PMs to me, should I consider that a sign of account trading? Maybe I am just biased towards cats. I now await accusations of nepotism.

I'll take a safe bet that it will reach at least $500 within the next 3-5 years. -snip-
Keep dreaming. This is how/why we have pump/dumps. One out of every n people is going to believe that and buy into the coin without knowing a single thing about it. Kind of ashame the mining schedule sucks cause other than that Mimblewimble is very elegant. Maybe they will get it right on the 3rd try? Mimblewimble as a sidechain with non absurd specifications; otherwise it is pointlesss. One more fact that I've noticed. Many Dev's on Grin ATM. -snip-
Not really, no. Don't look at absolute numbers, look into the actual data.

Once I start responding nicely everywhere you should start questioning whether I've gone crazy or whether this account has changed hands. You've heard it here; feel free to quote for reference.
Cheers.

Thanks. So it's a known thing; I'll just wait it out then. I do wonder why they prefer to do it manually.

-snip- I will talk to them next weekend since we have a local crypto meeting with local forum owners and will advice them to support you guys and start immendently to exclude these assholes.
I'm certain that colluding will work out just fine. Do you need some baby wipes again?

The thread is dead, the account is inactive and Darkstar isn't. So mind your own business. You don't need to make a statement; I know what I'm talking about as this is literally the same setup that I've been using for a very long time.
I have too. And glitches happen. Depending on how they automated it, there are quite a few scenarii that can explain a non working automatic renewal. Happened to me once or twice in the last couple years. LoyceV claims it happened before, so I doubt it's a recurring glitch.
-snip-
Again, mind your own business.

-snip- Just curios to know what was your prior contribution to this system before this new system is announced.
I'll answer that: Nothing. I do not see any reason for you to open a thread here why somebody included/excluded me/or I am in nobody list. Everybody have their personal preference to include or exclude.
Those that skip PM-ing and instantly open a thread, especially when done in the wrong section, clearly have no idea what they are doing.

They use Let's Encrypt's free certificates from what I can tell; their certificates can be easily auto renewed and this is encouraged (which is one of the reasons their validity is short).
I am not well informed so i have no statement about it. -snip- You don't need to make a statement; I know what I'm talking about as this is literally the same setup that I've been using for a very long time. -snip- I used to use HostGator for my hosting previously later I found out that they do not allow to modify the mod_security function. I tried to explain why It is important for me but they have their terms which I had to accept. On the other hand, I have to run my business too. So, I decided to move from them. I had to chose one who allows mod_security to modify.
In reality, most of the big service providers provide modification of mod_security but in this case hostgator had something different in mind.
They are hosted on Vultr (at least the front-end is), there should be no such restrictions for their VPSes. So they aren't even able to automate the renewal Could this be a security feature, so that the site can't be used for long if the server is taken (by authorities)? No. The authorities could trivially issue another certificate from Let's encrypt if they had control of the server. It requires you to just run 1 command.
|
|
|
It happens once in a while, I think the certificate is only valid for 3 months.
So they aren't even able to automate the renewal; that doesn't sound good to me. May be the service provider they are with do not have auto renewal feature. It's a not an uncommon practice. I hope they come back soon. There is nothing to worry at the moment. They use Let's Encrypt's free certificates from what I can tell; their certificates can be easily auto renewed and this is encouraged (which is one of the reasons their validity is short).
|
|
|
May be they need to renewal.
Obviously; given that they use free certs this should be trivial. It happens once in a while, I think the certificate is only valid for 3 months.
So they aren't even able to automate the renewal; that doesn't sound good to me.

I do not need to tell you why I excluded you. If you think that I do, then you misunderstand the system. Anyone is free to ignore such inquiries (regardless of who is asking).
I just thought you'd meet me halfway and explain its opinion, but apparently you never aspire to friendship on forum. I do not, no. Maybe the other two will be kind(er) to you.

-snip- As an adult (I'm over 30) and the father of two children, I do not understand.
What does this have to do with anything? Go tend to your children, you are not DT material. I wrote it because you don't know me. That's what I care about first. I don't want to be on the DT list and have "spray paint." I don't need that. I need truth and honesty. I do not need to tell you why I excluded you. If you think that I do, then you misunderstand the system. Anyone is free to ignore such inquiries (regardless of who is asking). Why can't you give a specific answer, like LoyceV did. Loyce is sometimes trying too hard to be Switzerland. That's most certainly not my style.

It looks like the site's certificate has expired. Has anyone else seen this?

Which is not something that one should do just because they got excluded themselves. *shrugs*
