2181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / [Bounty Campaigns] Updated List of ICO Bounty Campaign Managers on: March 21, 2018, 02:09:22 PM
Many Initial Coin Offerings are running bounty campaigns today. I'm trying to create a list of Bounty Campaign managers for ethereum ICO (s) and I think this would be a good opportunity to also have the community vote on them. Such services are very much sought after by ICO foundraising campaigns today and especialy with all the new ethereum coins seeking crowdfunding it'd be good to have a list. So let's get such a list going; I'll need your help!

Quote
Note: I know my list is incomplete at the moment. So please provide me with information on what bounty campaign managers there are out there.

See the table bellow for a list of bounty campaign management services along with relevant information.

2182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GARLICOIN - Reddit's Garlic Bread Worshiping Currency on: March 21, 2018, 10:51:39 AM
Hello eveyone. I just wanted to let everybody know that Garlicoin has been added to Switchain. It's a badass non-custodial exchange that compares rates across exchanges to ensure you get the best deal. This should help push the community forward. Everyday is garlic day. Happy trading.

I don't get this. Switchain is supposed to be non-custodial exchange but exchanges match orders, do you do that? Perhaps you're a brokerage charging a premium on top of exchange prices?

Also, Can currency be exchanged on your platform? All I see are comparisons between Changelly and Shapeshift.

When I enter garlicoin the message I get under switchain is this:

Switchain does not allow transaction lower than 0.003000

And if I change the amount

Switchain does not allow transaction higher than 0.002669

Are you sure you support garlicoin?

Nice effort but I see issues.
It works the way that shapeshift works, except we have an added exchange comparison feature. We have reserves that we sell you at market price. it can often be cheaper than using a custodial exchange after you calculate fees. This model has been described as a crypto vending machine.

Yes currency can be exchanged on our platform. We also compare evercoin and have our own trade pairs as well. For example, Garlicoin is not offered on shapeshift, changelly, or evercoin but is indeed available on Switchain.

Yes it is supported in LTC and DOGE trade pairs only. I personally purchased 420 garlicoin with DOGE on Switchain. Give it another try. Limits, among other things, were just recently toggled with. Thanks for your inquiry
Ok, thanks for going over those details. I don't know if the term exchange is very fitting but nevertheless you have a nice concept going on.

I see that the exchange seems to be displaying a rate now! Good that the limits were worked on. Perhaps if it's only meant with DOGE and LTC then am on-site explanation would be good.

Pleasure to see garlic at https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/market/BRIDGE.GRLC_BRIDGE.BTC Decentralized ex
Yup, that's a good exchange. Although I don't see it having that big of an impact on GRLC. The coin is slowly dying off as people move along.
2183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does becoming a parent changes the gambler? on: March 21, 2018, 10:41:18 AM
If by the time you're a parent you haven't stopped that bad habit then you better re-consider what you do with life. Why become a parent in the first place if you enjoy vices that could ruin a family? Was it an educated, mutual choice to conceive? If yes, then seek some help to quit gambling. Don't tell yourself that you can hold it to reasonable amounts, you probably know better that this can't always be true and it's an irresponsible way to think.
2184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SegWit2X] Together we will see a business through. on: March 21, 2018, 10:38:37 AM
If the price on coinmarketcap is manipulated by an exchange not playing fair you should do your best to report that to the admin. They take that stuff seriously as much as they can. Sadly, coinmarketcap has become sort of an authority in that stuff so from what I get they try to be careful with such. Present some evidence to the coinmarketcap admin and we'll likely see that exchange removed if the allegation is true.
2185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Again Ban, but now from Twitter on: March 20, 2018, 12:09:05 PM
I don't think this is an issue. The social media giants and ad companies might lose revenue from that, Twitter I think is the least likely because they're struggling to make good profit. If they do, then the activity of user promotion would increase as it would with its value and reach. Bounty campaigns and crypto blogs I think would be getting more of that traffic lost form google facebook and perhaps now twitter.
2186  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-03-18] Tokyo Whale Stopped Selling; Will Bitcoin Price Increase? on: March 20, 2018, 09:45:57 AM
Seriously though, who's that Tokyo whale everyone has been talking about. I don't think there's a credible source to prove anything like that. The selling pressure has been coming from all around and pretending that the price drop could be attributed to a single source is silly in my opinion. I don't know what people trying to spread such misinterpretations of current market sentiments.
2187  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best way to earn money on: March 20, 2018, 09:22:18 AM
Airdrops and bounties are really the only risk free way to earn money in crypto, as they only require time and effort to be invested. This of course implies that there's no monetary risk but there still is cost of opportunity. If you for example could be doing more productive ate that time to earn a guaranteed income then there's a certain cost to actually giving your time to airdrops and bounties that are not guaranteed to earn you anything.
2188  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price < $3000 soon on: March 20, 2018, 09:19:25 AM
To be frank, it's not to say that there's anything making this too unlikely to be unrealistic. BTC/USD prices move on pure speculation so I'd guess that the issue with bitcoin is that the price would be affecting parts of its industry. Mining would become unprofitable to a large extent so I think that many miners would try to keep prices above their break even point. Be it through lobbying or whatever.
2189  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Signature Campaigns taxes on: March 20, 2018, 09:17:00 AM
It really depends on where you reside. If the signature campaign is a sizeable amount of your income and you're cashing to your bank it'd surely catch some attention. But I don't think signature payments warrant that much of attention from tax authorities anywhere.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you might have to file for capital gains once you sell BTC and have the the money from an exchnge hit your bank, that is if you incurred gains ofc. Saying that you got the bitcoins from a signature campaign might be setting their price, or not. It's all too vague at this point but I don't think you'd have any trouble for not filing signature payments for taxes, at least for as long as you store them in BTC.
2190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is a hard investment for the working class on: March 19, 2018, 10:28:59 AM
Bitcoin is an investment to go in only with what you can afford to lose. I don't believe that people calling themselves working class while strugling with debts should invest in ANYTHING, let alone something as volatile as bitcoin.
2191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can you mine via a desktop browser on: March 19, 2018, 10:16:41 AM
Browser mining is utilized by websites that have a hard time earning anything from ads. However, it's very intrusive and some antiviruses block it along with the entire site. Mining through a browser to your own wallet is possible with certain services, however it's not profitable at all on a small scale. https://minergate.com/ had such feature, not sure if it's still up. Monero profitability should be dying soon as ASICs are released for it.
2192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins will you buy during this dip ? on: March 19, 2018, 10:06:34 AM
Just bitcoins. I think that btc is the clear winner of this bloodbath and the alts keep losing dominance. We'll likely keep seeing this pattern continue as the market keeps deflating with capital flows out of it continuing through time.
2193  Economy / Economics / Re: Google banning cryptocurrency will it be deppress of econmy to holders on: March 19, 2018, 10:03:57 AM
I don't think so. Cryptocurrency specific agencies will be earning a lot more from the lost business Google bring to themselves. The crypto-centric web has been growing rapidly and there now are many crypto-only networks. No need for google in this market. Wink
2194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Needless of Call for Cryptocurrency Regulation on: March 19, 2018, 08:42:55 AM
The just concluded G20 Summit has just brought another upsurge in cryptocurrency. Expectations were high as regards what the outcome of the meeting could be.
It is now a happy moment for cryptocurrency enthusiast that NEW REGULATIONS were not put in place, rather the former were upheld, because it was reported that cryptocurrency is not seen as a threat
Source: https://cryptoslate.com/cryptocurrency-market-bounces-back-positive-g20-watchdog-statements/
TO be honest the crypto markets are likely moving in pure speculation. We could be seeing another price fall int he following days unrelated to any real world events. People keep thinking that buying the dip is a good opportunity these days but overall crypto is on a downward spiral at the end of the day. I am hoping for a recovery but I don't think it'd be attributed to a real world event.
2195  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Countries with No Bitcoin Taxes on: March 18, 2018, 07:48:04 PM
As far as I'm concerned, Greece has no taxes for buying bitcoin or receiving it as a means of payment or paying with it. VAT may apply when using it to buy goods though.

It might also be subject to capital gains too but it's not really enforced as there has never been legislation directly mentioning it and it's all up to interpretation.
2196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: I'm glad I didn't buy any more video cards, a 1080ti barley makes $1 a day on: March 18, 2018, 01:25:41 PM
Many people bought rigs and were expecting to break even just on a few months while prices were surging but alt prices quickly started dropping. The profitability of cards hindered. Perhaps some could make profit by selling back cards but the market would be saturated in that case too. Profit altcoin mining is once again going down so all in all I don't think this trend is a reliable way to make money.
2197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you even read whitepaper bro? on: March 18, 2018, 12:56:42 PM
I'll be honest, having to shift through whitepapers as part of my job I get that many concepts aren't even well though out before putting into writing. Many ICO teams have a half baked concept and solution to a potentially made up problem and seek to raise funds over that. I'd really hope to see better whitepapers from more ICOs before they go into the fund raising phase.
2198  Economy / Economics / Re: psychiatric traders and price movement on: March 18, 2018, 10:34:56 AM
It's called a market sentiment. Many traders do indeed speculate based on their gut feeling on what the market also feels. This isn't of course the best method to trade but it's to note that beating the market this way isn't that of a likely scenario unless some actual analysis is involved.
2199  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Accepting bitcoin for my own ICO with ERC20 token? on: March 18, 2018, 10:32:19 AM
There are ways to do such, but you better hire a good programmer or ICO agency to help you with that if you can't do it on our own. You'd need code executing outside of the smart contract and token generation event. It's more trust based but can attract more investors if they want to spend BTC outright. Signups to track deposits would be required. Good luck to you.
2200  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You will be " rich ", potential coins 2018 on: March 18, 2018, 10:29:41 AM
I think that aspiring traders better wait for a bottom to be reached. BTC and cryptos have a lot to go through this year, and especially ICOs. The US will likely be tightening the ropes, with the EU potentially joining in later. ICO investments might become a thing of the bast until there can be a better regulatory basis. This could be damaging in the growth of the crypto economy but we'll soon be figuring out how far the bottom can get.
