1401  Economy / Economics / Re: Any Forex Brokers That Accept Crypto? on: February 20, 2020, 06:41:43 AM
There's too many that accept crypto. But really, what features are you after? Anonymity? Leverage?

Each one of them has varying levels of KYC and features. I think one of the most crypto friendly ones that also has leverage is simplefx.com. They also have a thread here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1059253.0

Be careful though. Many of those platforms with questionable licenses usually also have some dodgy practices due to lack of control. Offshore paradises aren't good at caring individual user reports for fraud. They'd rather have the money from the broker.
1402  Other / Meta / Re: The Objective Standards Guild - Testimonium Libertatem Iustitia on: February 20, 2020, 06:37:48 AM
Why the inclusion of BitcoinEXpress there?
He has barely been active in the last few years. And even before that, I doubt he'd ever said anything outside of trolling.
1403  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Placing coins in storage or setting stop losses? on: February 19, 2020, 09:51:45 PM
It's one thing to prevent theft, and another to prevent losses from price movements.

Indeed BTC markets are quite volatile with FIAT pairs, but that doesn't mean theft isn't worse.
You could still recover coins from a private key wallet pretty fast if you have the software in place. The security it provides is taking advantage of bitcoin's positive properties to the maximum. Holding BTC in an exchange might allow to trade to FIAT a few minutes faster but the risk of losing everything if the exchange goes bust is overpowering any advantage.
1404  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advantages of having an account on bitcointalk on: February 19, 2020, 12:05:19 PM
My experience has been that this forum provides ample of opportunity to hear about good projects first, but sadly there's also a lot of noise in between.
The ICO rush made it into a marketing avenue that every project must have a presence in... It's become harder to spot out the good from the bs but still in certain cections you get to see unique things.
1405  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 17-Feb-2020] on: February 19, 2020, 11:15:10 AM
Could it be that the BitDice campaign is facing issues at the moment?
Thread of campaign locked: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1697546.0
ANN of casino locked: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1700658.0
New scam accusation against website: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5224823.0

No explanation for locking the threads so far.
1406  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why exchange coins moving up.. on: February 18, 2020, 08:27:21 AM
One of the good things with exchange coins is that they have the opportunity to have a slight deviation from major coins when prices are falling under a bearish market. Their utility makes them useful even when prices are falling, as they serve a purpose of decreasing fees and earning through the exchange via volumes, not just crypto prices. So increased volumes, even under a falling BTC price, would have exchange coins more protected other than other altcoins which are known to be greatly correlated to BTC.
But still, there's big correlation. Bearish sentiments sweep markets and so do bullish sentiments. Maybe when prices rise exchange coins could have the upper hand though.
1407  Economy / Reputation / Re: Extending "~" to peers of your untrustees through association - Why? on: February 18, 2020, 08:00:06 AM
Personal trust lists are not really worth paying that much attention to. Unlike ratings, they're backround metrics that affect how the one that sets them in his own profile sees trust ratings.

They only become impactful to the general userbase once they contribute to including/excluding someone in default trust. I wouldn't care that much what the reasons of someone trusting/distrusting others are.
Unless of course they themselves are in DT1 and are largely contributing to preventing others from ranking up. If there's no good reason for such specific actions, it's worth discussing more than hypotheticals.
1408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any gambling site that allows betting directly from the wallet? on: February 18, 2020, 07:54:04 AM

The OP is talking about a decentralized gambling site. Even private key will be used to log in there is no way that the gambling site will have direct access to the wallet. It's like a smart contract. ETH and EOS are fit here. As long as the code was transparent, nothing will be suspicious.
Lol

How you can make sure the website will not store/saved your data went we all input the private key on their website, there is no guarantee the website gives us a information "they will not store the data" probaly could be lied too. I believe no one cassino will be provided an "import private-key" to their website/platform due the security reason, if some casino wan to do accessing your wallet probably they will only used third parties applications like "Metamask" or "Scatter" like whats @LbtalksL say. Just to make sure all the data about your wallet not will be store/saved at the site because we all using third parties apps.
The point of using a smart contract would be that it runs code impartially, verified by the blockchain. It's possible also to have the code visible publicly.
But what is worrying to me, is that if the casino decided to skip their provable fairness checks?

I'd like to know if current implementations also allow for a trustless way for provable fairness to be checked when a bet is made. Can smart contracts do that automatically, or would they need to use a trust based service like an intermediary?
1409  Other / Meta / Re: No threats to inflict bodily harm, death threats. on: February 17, 2020, 08:11:59 PM
I do not think that YOSHIE threatened you with anything. You should not continue your argument throughout the forum. It's time for everyone to calm down and get a thicker skin, says LoyceV.
Then you will not react like that to some kind of hot word.
Most likely these are translation difficulties, and you all misunderstood.
Honestly though, threats, even when not active, are threats. Claiming that you are strong enough to put someone on the ground has the same effect as a more direct threat.

Imagine you disagree with me and I say "continue and I'll harm you".
Wouldn't be that much further away from "I could harm you if I wanted to".

In the second case, it's just implied that I don't like what you say and that it could happen that you get harmed by my actions if you continue. Both threats pose a threat to free speech and intercourse. I'd rather not have either. No reason to excuse somebody for advocating violence. Albeit not actively.
1410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anonymous Gambling and Self Exclusion on: February 17, 2020, 09:52:24 AM
This can be an issue for those with a known addiction. Now with the introduction of bitcoin and cryptocurrency in gambling it's just too easy to go opev any imposed limitations.
For effective measures, they'd have to be self imposed, but then again, you also know how to solve the locks you set on your own...

I think that when somebody reaches that point, their issue should be treated as a pathological one. Like with alcohol, it's just too easy to avoid any imposed limitations.
Banned at local stores? Drive some more.
Known in your entire region? Drive out of state. Order online, pay some extra etc....

The only way is to understand your addiction and get some help treating it. It's the only solution.
Maybe somebody should set up crypto gamblers anonymous.
1411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crowded Casinos - Play or not? on: February 17, 2020, 09:48:29 AM
If I had to wait in line to join a table or grab a slot machine, I'd rather not gamble at all to be honest.
The waiting time would give up on my nerves to a point I'd think it's not worth it anymore.
Especially in Macau, many Chinese have in their interest to go there in order to launder money away from China faster due to the permanent capital-controls the authoritarian regime in China imposes. I'd never go there to gamble. It's paradise for the casino owners but the gamblers are almost all the times super-cautious, no fun having old men.
1412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Discussion & Betting] Eurovision Song Contest 2020 on: February 17, 2020, 09:43:50 AM
For me, the most fun is to be able o bet during the final.
During the last two years I've had good winnings in bookies that allowed voting to take place while voting. From some decently high odds you could win big with even small bets, and it's super exciting when the voting takes some of the least favorite songs to the top, while the bookie still syncs odds.
1413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your recommended ways of gambling. on: February 16, 2020, 07:56:15 PM
I think that dice is good in that it allowes for very low value waggers but it really is very easy to get carried away with it also. It allows for huge waggers also and it can lead to great losses. One should have hard self-control when playing this game in my opinion and for some people that can be hard. In such cases maybe people should avoid dice if they fall withing this cstegory.
1414  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH could reach $440 if bullish on: February 16, 2020, 07:52:49 PM
Now with the market having experienced a correction I think that it is quite likely for erh to go under a bearish sentiment for the following weeks or even months. With Bitcoin's halving approaching then more focus would be on it other than any other altcoin, so ETH wouldn't get as much attention over other events. For now, o think that ETH could stay above 200$ at best.
1415  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Biggest List Of Cryptocurrency Related Websites on: February 16, 2020, 07:49:54 PM
Maybe you should post this in the service announcement board instead of the bircoin discussion board. Good luck with your website.

1417  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MetaMask for Ethereum Crosses 1,000,000 User Milestone on: February 16, 2020, 01:26:22 PM
Surely a milestone, but probably doesn't really mean much. This number can be botted easily and moreover, it doesn't indicate active usage or extent of usage. It could very well be users that got the extension but never used it in the first place.
1418  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The worst part about using cryptocurrencies, Newbies should be more careful. on: February 16, 2020, 01:23:21 PM
The use of an open source password manager is in my opinion the best option. Passwords can be generated more securely with automation and you don't need to worry about remembering or not making any typos.
1419  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Uptrend Broken on: February 16, 2020, 06:04:01 AM
This graph is a good indication that crypto has all huge correlation when it comes to prices among it's markets. Also, any priced in hype for the halving surely has weak support, so bullish analysis about a rallly starting this year now seems more unlikely also. Now there will be more profit taking below $10k so the resistance will increase also, making come backs harder.
1420  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it correction time? Market down by 8% on: February 15, 2020, 08:56:45 PM
Yup, here we go... Birltcpinnwent down and everything is also going down with it. Altcoinsnlf course have very high correlation with BTC so now they are even experiencing greater losses in many occasions.
