What I could really go for but sounds like a huge long shot is that Stamp decouples...from the Chinese exchanges.
How would that work? If Stamp shot off then the arbers would just buy coins on Houbi and dump them on Stamp...

How do people think the liquidation of gox coins will effect the market ?
|

Or they operate a 0% fees as a different business model.
The ceo of Huobi addressed this and explained how they make money.

Bid/Ask sums on stamp becoming very bearish again after a short peak.
Im guessing if we dont see $550 soon we go back down. (Still HODLING since $390)
I have to say it doesnt feel like a very impressive bounce, just no momentum at all.

Withdrawals are unaffected for now it seems, it's deposits that are the problem.
Capital controls, I think It's something like 50k/USD equivalent a year.
So the opposite of the Gox effect ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Should see prices slumping then lol

Could someone clarify how long transactions stay in the memory pool for?
My method for dealing with stuck transaction due to non fee paying (which is normally a mistake) is to send a transaction again but with a higher fee. Obviously this cant be done from an exchange but they should be paying fees anyway.
Just for future reference.
I don't know exactly how long, but it can stay there for several days. From the reading Ive just done it seems it will depend on a few factors but basically the transaction is dropped from the memory pool once their isn't enough space or the node receives a transaction spending the same inputs. Some wallet automatically keep broadcasting the transaction so that can take some time to stop as well.

Does Mt Gox own those 200k Bitcoins (their profit) or those are customer's coins ? Theyre customers coins but now this is heading into liquidation then the liquidators will do whats easiest and best. Most people cant even use BTC so I very much doubt that a Japanese liquidator is going to be returning peoples funds in BTC...

It's good to see the markets barely reacting to this China bank news today. PBOC you won't get any more <$400 coins ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Yeah it's because users in china know that they can't do bank withdrawals now so it's stupid to sell in low rates. As for buyers, btc-e china is accepting yuan deposits now, so expect prices to go back at 500+ in some hours. But how does that tie into their capital controls ? Im not well versed on transferring money out of the country in China but I was under the immpression that it wasn't very simple to transfer money in and out?

With a long bank holiday weekend in the west so no new fiat coupled with Chinas on going debacle price drops could be the theme for this weekend.
Also the effect of these exchanges loosing deposits and therefore the loss of liquidity entering them hasn't been priced in. We wont know the real effects of this until it happens.

Although I would prefer to pay merchants in BTC and them keep it as such, just generally moving money through the system is only benefiicial.
Also I dont spend my savings, if I buy something with BTC Ill generally buy it back instantly from an exchange thus not adding to the sell side at all.

^ Thats exactly what i was saying before the last big crash when we were around ~550 or something. Truth is, when it looks like its going down but you need some news to push it, the news will magically materialize out of thin air.
I think with tommorow being the 18th and that some how turning into another deadline day its likely that there will be some news fabricated even if there isn't any. Awesome, another China deadline. Let's keep following China like the sheep we are. Traders are idiots. No matter how much you dislike it its the way it is at the moment, anyone who doesnt follow stands to loose money. Traders are making money off it, its simple. China news = sell, by back in $40 time so why wouldnt they follow them. Its not right but its how it is.

This is what i think will happen, pretty big dump in about 4~ hours, it could bounce of ~460 but there is a chance market will go full retard and maybe even test 400 again
I really think that this won't happen. more and more people are getting annoyed with all this china thing and I wish that they stop even taking it into account. I wonder what impact would have bitcoinwisdom and the rest dropping huobi from their charts. The ones that haven't yet. I personally don't think that it would make much of a difference if they were dropped from the charts the fact that China has so many coins means that no matter how much everbody wants to disengage with them and rally the arbers will keep the price in line with China.

Stamp and Fenix look like their trying to rally and its China whos lagging behind. More selling likely once the 6 hr crosses?

How many loop holes can these Chinese exchanges find to keep operating though? Doesn't it seem inevitable that they will be forced to close down once they run out of lives? I wish bitfloor had fought this hard when their bank account was closed. remember who was behind it you will understand Thats what I thought, someone who keeps their customers assets probably wasnt rushing to fight to stay open... The money left on the exchange was eventually returned through IAFCU. I know I know, I was more thinking in terms of the 'hack' where 20000BTC disapeared though.

I'm a Full Member now. Can you update me if need be? Thanks.
I also became a full member a couple of days ago and Ritz messaged me saying that he wouldnt pay the higher rate till next month ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) Doesn't seem fair as we're now advertising the coloured signtaure but being paid as though we weren't. I was more than happy to do any calculations myself. Disapointed but what can you do ehy. we can pay you the full month as a full member. How does that sound? That applies to everyone. There you go again any doubters, Ritz keeping everyone happy and proving himself again. Thanks. Like I say Im more than happy to add up posts before and after if you like.

This dip right before a bank holiday in Europe with no fresh fiat means the next four days could get ugly. Might have to put my temporary bear hat on.
Never understimate the ability of Houbi to rise on hot air. It doesnt need fiat. Good its gonna have to get even better at riding it up on hot air and no fiat once theres no fiat going there at all ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)
