Hi.The BTC address you have for my payment isn't in service anymore. This is my new BTC address and hopefully it won't be changed anymore:

16AMUNsffcMbqrjpRzk4NULKLTiWC5Vurf

Could you please update my BTC address to the above.

He seems to not be replying in this thread or even confirming members, for what its worth and so it doesn't get lost when he does come online I would PM him this request.

hi Everyone, sorry if this question has even been asked,

I'm mining since 2 days, and when i looked on monero explorer my wallet address, it cant been found.
I mined with the simple monero miner, which i believe generate a wallet and mine instantly.
I mined 0.20, so i guess its peraphs not enough to be paid, am i wrong ?

Thx !

Hi, can you see the coins in your own wallet or are you looking at the payout listed on the pool website.

Loaded Observer: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=73652

Loaded logged-in few days ago without leaving a word  Roll Eyes

(If you do not aware, he disappeared since the death of mtgox)

There was this other guy who wired in $50k just days before Gox filed bankruptcy.. never heard of him either.

That guy is back alive. I'm not quoting his name nor profile link for privacy reason

Meh everyone knows who he was but fair enough, he's in the Monero community so I have a fair bit of dealing with him, ran his exchange top notch just unfortunately its hard to get alt volume unless you list 1000 shit coins.

Guys, im sorry to repeat the question but im stil not getting any peer connection. If that p2pstate.bin really helps could someone send it to me pls? Or perhaps its a better idea to sat a lint to the uptodate file into the main post of the thread.

Im sending you a link to my dropbox in a PM, give me 5.
1225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 10, 2014, 04:10:54 PM
On top of all that, I've already lost about 100 XMR because I transferred exchange to exchange 'the normal way' and it's now disappeared into the 'ether'.
Provide the exchange with txid and I'm sure they will help you out. If you withdrew from cryptonote exchange I'm able to provide txid if you contact us by support ticket and provide amount and address. I had quite a few contact me about this, it appears to be a pretty common mistake unfortunately. Perhaps poloniex should increase the font size of the warning and make it red

Yup plus one to that, something tells me they don't mind non referenced payments though as people seem to give up on some things quite easily.

In my opinion they should do what you did, thats the perfect way to help the noobs out, you cant go wrong with copy paste.

why is since today bitfinex 10 $ higher than stamp ?

looks like stamp is dead. Or bitfinex is the new gox  Smiley

In all honesty with their probing KYC/AML it wouldn't surprise me to see new money heading to Finex, VoS etc.

Transfer does have payment id parameter; e.g transfer 0 <address> <amount> <paymentID>

The payment ID is simply a way of tracking a transaction which is necessary as you cant link address like BTC. Its the only way to know what the payment relates to.

So do I just make up a payment ID off the top of my head when, say, sending to an exchange that requires one ? i.e. it's not something that's generated by the wallet.

What is the "payment" command for in that case - as distinct from the 'transfer' command ?

payments command allows you to see the transaction, height, amount etc by using just the payment id. Useful to track a payment you are expecting as there is no way to use the block explorer in the same way as BTC.

It looks like 650 is the new 130.
Now. We. Wait.

Im thinking along these lines as well. Time to trade a some alts for a few weeks and see where this goes.
1230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 10, 2014, 03:15:23 PM

Now I'm onto phase 2 head scratching - trying to receive funds into my wallet and send them and work out how this 'Payment ID' thing works. I'm absolutely clueless - the 'help' command just shows the syntax for the 'payments' command which seems to take a 'Payment ID' as a parameter, but how that fits in with an actual payment I've no idea. There's also a 'transfer' command that looks like the one to use to make transfers except that it doesn't have a payment ID parameter.

Transfer does have payment id parameter; e.g transfer 0 <address> <amount> <paymentID>

The payment ID is simply a way of tracking a transaction which is necessary as you cant link address like BTC. Its the only way to know what the payment relates to.

On top of all that, I've already lost about 100 XMR because I transferred exchange to exchange 'the normal way' and it's now disappeared into the 'ether'.

You should be able to sort that out with the exchange in fairness it does say this next to where you generate your address...

Deposit: You MUST send your deposit using the Payment ID below, or it will not be credited.

I think you've really tried to over complicate the payment ID, just think about it like a public message in Bitcoin that allows the person on the other end to see who payed them. When I send coins to myself or to others that know what amount Im sending them I dont use a payment ID at all.

There are two thoughts on that. With mintpal the coin will be more known and those that are noobs and cant mine or create a wallet can invest easily before it gets too hard to mine and to pricey.

Good point, there were people on Cryptonote who hadn't downloaded the wallet for a number of reasons and had to go through the setting up to retrieve their coins.

I personally have no syncing issues at present.
1233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 10, 2014, 01:20:30 PM

No worries, I just really dislike the paid voting thing, It feels like we have to beg the Mintpal Gods for listing Monero, when Monero is most certainly more substantial than almost every other coin they have on that exchange.

Look at the top few coins and look how many votes they've paid for, there are several with less than 1BTC pledged yet 15k + votes.

If the demand is there then it can be voted on without paying. You are able to vote once an hour each meaning we could get 20k votes in a day by 833 people voting every hour, without anyone paying a penny, that seems like an easy feat to me.

Like I say I understand the premise but its a non issue to be honest. I'd agree if the top coins on the list had 20BTC + pledged but thats not the case.
1234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 10, 2014, 12:54:49 PM
I can throw 0.1 btc if it is needed for XMR to get to mintpal. Do the votes stay all the time, or do they reset?

I'm against the entire buying votes idea, it ends up coming down to a risk/reward situation where you have to decide if spending 0.1 bitcoin is worth getting Monero on an exchange so that the increased value to your holdings grows beyond the spent 0.1 bitcoin. And to me that sounds like a pump and dump coin, which isn't at all what Monero is about.

Of course you might not even be interested in such things (P&D) but to an outside observer it just reeks of P&D.

I'm not really a fan of Mintpal.

Meh, disagree or at least don't think its an issue. I think your looking at it from a purely profit point of view where the sole reason for wanting to be on Mintpal is because you believe it will make the value of the coin increase.

Thats not the only reason for wanting to be on Mintpal.  I would pay .1 to be able to trade Monero on any exchange thats not Polo which is a POS to be honest. I don't trust their solvency, continually stuck deposits and withdrawals and the general bad UI. Plus don't even get me started on having to look at the retarded troll box everytime I want to look at the order book.

Thats purely a personal opinion but its more than enough reason to throw $60 at it. I agree with the premise of your point but I think there are more reasons for people wanting to be on Mintpal than purely to dump your coins.

I believe they stay for the whole time judging by some of the coins that are near the top!

Its hardly surprising to see the dev disappear, he deleted my comments on launch in the thread for calling out the premine which was double what was advertised there were also several forks on launch as well as a huge HR on launch which gobbled up the easy coins and then disappeared again.
1237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 10, 2014, 09:40:03 AM

got it. thanks.

I was thinking something more complex/strange.

I'd be interested to see if it is something else as I cant fathom how the hr can be saturated in a normal sense of the word, unless every hash of computing power from everywhere on earth is being used to mine Wink
1238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 10, 2014, 09:28:42 AM
No block for 30 minutes.  Huh

Could it be we're starting to reach hashrate saturation?

what does "hashrate saturation" mean? (serious question)

I'd imagine he's talking about the hashrate getting to a level where its not profitable to mine. However people mine at a loss for a number of reasons so its almost impossible to relate to Bitcoin in this context.
1239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 10, 2014, 09:19:08 AM
Cmon guys its 10 mins average, people don't start getting worried when we find 3-4 in 20 mins.

Surprised to see Bitfinex spike a good 12-13 above Stamp. Volume is becoming a little anemic but we entered this consolidation bullish so I think we should leave it that way too.
1240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency - Vote on Mintpal on: June 10, 2014, 08:42:22 AM
All the coins add to Mintpal by voted have no future!! Just see enc

I don't think XMR needs to get voted onto mintpal.

The way forwards is to provide user tools..  stuff like:

Multi-address wallet (or simpler front-end to multiple wallets)
Rich list (to verify equitable distribution = important to investors)
Payment gateway
Cart integration (pricing/payment matching to invoice etc)

As long as monero keeps providing the infrastructure, usage will grow.  Mintpal will have been watching the volumes on poloniex, and the fact that they're willing to put it on the vote list indicates they think they can integrate it when they need to.

I agree to a point, difference being that a lot of the coins that get voted onto mintpal are obvious shitcoins. Monero on the other hand is a quality coin with impressive features that would seriously benefit from having a reliable exchange. Everytime I try and use Polo I die a little inside and we often have people asking in IRC to buy coins so they dont have to use Polo.
