221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am now a bitcoin investor. on: April 07, 2023, 04:02:28 AM
Here in my country, the time is 9:35 pm so I greet the community members, good evening everyone, I Rachael9385 am here to announce to the forum that I have ultimately invested in Bitcoin and I can happily say I am now an investor.
I have tried my best to be part of the Bitcoin investors because I have read a lot of news and heard some little stories where Bitcoin blesses a lot of people, so I decided to be one of them and now my parents also gave me money to invest in it because I told them from now till December I will have more than what I invested so they agreed and gave me some money to invest also.

You made the first right decision.

Next best decision is to hold the bitcoin for as long as possible. See it as retirement funds and keep adding more as per your capacity. The problem with most investors is that they get scared when the market starts going in red and they sell in losses. If everyone had strong hands, we would also be seeing much more stability in crypto price movements.

One more thin, now do not keep this benefit to yourself. You should also share the benefits with friends by informing them the importance of crypto.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: April 07, 2023, 03:49:36 AM
Features:                                                                                                              Importance:
Huge variety of games and different sections (sports, live tables, etc                          7
Good bonus/reward program                                                                                   4
Good looking, intuitive and fast user interface                                                           7
Good help desk                                                                                                       6
Strong community/ Reputation                                                                                 8
The age of the site                                                                                                  3
Casino's own token that pays dividends / ability to mine it by gambling                        2
Instant deposits & payments                                                                                     6
No Kyc                                                                                                                     2
Nr of payment methods                                                                                          3

For me the reputation of the exchange is most important. There has been cases here on bitcointalk also that some exchanges which advertised themselves proved to be fake later. Lot of people loose money in this situation. It also leads to a situation where we start doubting other genuine platforms as well. Not good for casino community as this will reduce the number of players and thus limit the growth of this industry.

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from BONK on: April 01, 2023, 01:26:14 PM
Dang it got real quiet on this thread all of a sudden.

What happened?

Do we stay away from $BONK or not?

They have already failed once and it was proved to be a scam like coin.

If they saw some pump recently, it does not mean that they are on right track now. If they are able to fool you once again, it means that crypto is not for you. You should have very strong mind and should be able to capture patterns as soon as possible. If you are able to stay away from these coins by identifying these signs, your capital will be safe. I am not telling not to invest in any alt coin at all but do not jump blindly on a coin just because it jumped 200% in last 24 hours.

227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 15, 2023, 12:24:03 PM
Different people have different reasons for gambling. Personally I do gambling only for fund and to pass my time in boredom. I enjoy the experience and would not be affected even by loss. But some people are dependent on gambling income. For them, it is their only source of income. If such a person is mentally weak, it can cause a lot of problems for him. He will make a lot of mistakes while gambling. Another downside is that such a person will not enjoy the experience also. So I suggest even weak hearted to do gambling for fun.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iconic billboard outside SVB on: March 15, 2023, 12:07:47 PM

Lmao is that actually legal? I doubt they paid him to have permission to use his face.

For context: the dude is Jerome Powell, the Chair of the US Federal Reserve.

The person behind this must be some Bitcoin fan. He did not had  to disclose his identity to be able to do this. He has to get this printed and get a van hired for some hours. All this can be done without revealing his own identity. He need not pay the person in the poster . I do not encourage phot of some influential people though without their consent for promoting anything. Because this can be abused in a number of ways. My first reaction on seeing the image was that it is photoshopped but I wait for responses on this thread from experts regarding this.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto related jobs on: March 13, 2023, 05:14:22 AM
Since May of last year, I have had the opportunity to rest and watch my surroundings and society. One thing I have noticed is that an increasing number of users are depending on computers as a source of income. Some of my neighbors, including some of mine, have begun working from home as virtual assistants, while others are advertising their services and selling goods online. It took me back to a period when I was still looking for job chances online and individuals still worked outside their home. I was curious at that moment and wondered if it was possible to make money while using a computer or if there were any opportunities. After several times searching, I came across this forum and started to do some odd jobs and services here. At one point, I thought that "is there any other platforms in which I could work and still get paid by bitcoin?". I did my research back then and found some platforms that offer such salaries, but of course I didn't try to work there since I am also hesitant if what they are offering is actually true, nevertheless I didn't bother proving the point of earning on those platforms. Why would I? When during those times there're so many phishing sites on a loose, one of my friends also lost a lot of his altcoins kept from his MEW due to such schemes.

After reminiscing those years, I suddenly remembered a question that bothered me before. It was the same question back in the day, and since today's age is mostly inclined towards computer and modern technology, I was wondering if there jobs that offers to pay crypto?

When I returned from my sweet vacation, I have noticed that there have been only a few campaigns running and there aren't that much jobs I see here on this forum, and so it makes me wonder if the question I have in mind few years ago would be answered today. I am already aware that there'd be people who'd say "there're so many out there, you'll just have to find out". I had learnt it a hard way that in this forum there's no such thing as spoon feeding that's why I took my time the other day to look for those said jobs.

So if ever one of you guys know such jobs or sites, can you list me what's your favorite ones?

In my country traditional jobs do not yet pay in crypto. There are many freelance opportunities though which pay in crypto. Like you can write content for others and then get paid in crypto. Most of IM related work is paid in crypto only. This is because these people are very much in touch with crypto and thus they prefer to use it. Sellers are also demanding to accept payment in crypto because these cannot be reversed like other payment options including PayPal which was earlier the most common medium to pay freelancers also.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fear of KYC requirements on: March 13, 2023, 05:04:59 AM
Have you ever seen a online casino website that displays, No kYC requirements or KYC requirement for **** amount of withdrawal before? And why won't any online casinos do something like this? I believe this is suppose to boost users and players confidence when they are about to try out new gambling platforms for the first time.

I believe this is still affecting online gambling platforms because this is one of the most common issues that online gamblers are still facing.

Such a platform with no kyc will have own audience. There are many people who do not want to share KYC with platforms and thus they will prefer to play on these casino websites. But we should also think from the casino operation level. Many countries have laws which require KYC for them to operate. Thus they cannot skip this part. There are many reputed casino websites which take KYC but still have lots of registered users. This is because they have trust of users that they will not misuse the data in KYC ever.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling advertisements: A big trigger to gambling addiction. on: March 08, 2023, 06:32:21 PM
If the companies being advertised through these ads are legal, we should not have a problem with this. They are following the law in the country and just promoting their business. Also, I have seen most of these ads also show warning messages like it is addictive so play responsibly.  Even after this, if someone decides to play and loose more than what he can afford, it is his mistake and the gambling companies cannot be held responsible just because they showed ads. Individuals also need to have self control and that applies not only to gambling but all other areas of life.

I mean without even looking why would anything called "Bonk" be something that's needed anyway.  The amount of tokens and coins that keep getting developed with little to no value and gets pumped is beyond amazing.

We should not judge by name only but by the features the coin has. Most of these coins do not solve any real problem. They exist just in order to make the developer or person behind the coin rich. Most of the people see good price rise in these coins and they start running towards the coins. The price rise is also bought using fake manipulation.

The amount of greed in crypto is hilarious.  Seems like it will never end until everyone one by one loses theor money to all of these scams.

This greed is everywhere where money and power is involved. And whenever, we have so much greed, there is always room for corruption and scams. However, the people who want crypto to prosper should always bring it in open if they find something misleading in crypto world to save others.

235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would You Build your Own Casino(online/offline) If You Know You Can? on: March 05, 2023, 04:18:35 AM
One of the expenses that most people will ignore in this is legal expenses. You need a good legal team to start an online casino and even to run it. Like for starting the casino, you will have to check the laws related to online casinos in your country. In some country, it might not be allowed and then you will have to fight legal battle to get is allowed by court. In my country, a leading site which deals in sports betting got this done through court and today they are the leading payer in this niche as they were the first to start and execute these type of betting games.
236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will you feel when your government make BTC legal? on: March 05, 2023, 04:14:49 AM
Even in countries where bitcoin is banned, people are still using crypto because of the benefits. It is very hard to regulate crypto in general even for the government. One example of this is in China where people are still using Bitcoin to pay for different types of services.

However, I am in full support of all governments throuhoght the world making crypto legal. In fact, bitcoin should be made a legal tender so that it can be used like currency. Then we will see it being adopted even by small stores as a means of payment.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in Bitcoin by selling wife's jewelry on: March 01, 2023, 04:34:08 PM
You should better find own sources of income so that you do not have to sell your wife jewelry. In some countries, people consider jewelry as means of survival in bad times. Also, if you sell the jewelry , what will your wife wear in parties. She will feel left out among friends because of this. The invested amount is expected to give you good returns but there is no certainty about the amount of time required. If you develop new sources of income, you will have additional savings at the end of the month which you can invest in crypto and enjoy profits.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: March 01, 2023, 04:26:24 PM
Many people will read this thread and move towards gambling. I am not saying that is a bad thing but one thing that differentiates OP from others is that he applied the knowledge and experience he has and placed the bet on only those games he has full information about. On the contrary, majority of people just leave to chance and think that if OP can get lucky , they will also get lucky.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the IMF Qualms With Regulating/ Banning Bitcoin? on: February 27, 2023, 06:59:26 AM
There are different people with different opinion regarding bitcoin  and crypto. Some people are in support of it because it is backed by blockchain technology. On the other hand, some people are against it with the logic that it can be used for illegal activities. I personally feel that these people who are against crypto have not themselves even tried crypto. They have formed an opinion against bitcoin just based on past bad experiences with other investment options. Thus, as crypto users, we should ask others to start using crypto even in small quantity. Once they have used it, they will also understand the benefits of crypto.
240  Other / Meta / Re: 5700+ posts, 1000+ activity, 0 Merit, Still Newbie. Ver2023 on: February 26, 2023, 12:45:08 PM
Fortunately, this member will never join a signature campaign; thus, his posts are only limited to the altcoin bounty section and at least are not spamming throughout the entire forum.

Even the altcoin bounty section should also have similar requirements like the signature campaigns paying in BTC. If we moderate spam in one section and let it continue in other sections of the forum, it is a not a good sign for the forum. However, I feel, that such measures will eventually be introduced by moderators and campaign mangers in alt coin section also in very nearby future. We already have the input in terms of efficacy of the merit system in handling bitcoin signature campaigns effectively so as to keep the spammers out.
