It's unnecessary especially when there's no actual benefit to it. Just report them.

I am also in, and I will send payment in early days of August, thanks for the another season and good luck to all participants.

I have one question can I send payment for my friend as he is not member here, but I also want him to join and have fun with you guys, this could be gifted from my side for him.
Yes that is fine; just make sure you guys aren't using the same IP address if/when claiming your Free Bets on the Sportsbet.io site
Hopefully you have accounts with Sportsbet but if you don't, this is not applicable  Smiley
I have no account on Sportsbet. io and surely my friend is also not have because we are not involved in online betting right now, mostly doing stuff with domestic market.

So is this compulsory to have account on Sportsbet. io for this competition if yes then surely I can create one for me, but other is not possible because he not understands this crypto.

You only need to have a Sportsbet account for the freebets if you win any. Final prizes will be sent to a bitcoin wallet of your choosing so if you're ok potentially not winning any free bets then there's no issue. Maybe you could create an account at a later date if you do win any of the weekly rounds but that's not something you need to do now.

A little over a month to go so spread the word!
228  Economy / Games and rounds / Sportsbet.io's Premier League Prediction Sign-up. 0.0025 to join 0.2+ in prizes on: July 06, 2023, 11:16:06 AM

To join this year's Premier League prediction pool please send 0.0025 to the following address:

bc1qlvslj0fljmxz6xs2taer4wqhn6hlunnkfw0an4

https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/addresses/btc/bc1qlvslj0fljmxz6xs2taer4wqhn6hlunnkfw0an4

Or scan and pay with the QR code:

Once you've paid the 0.0025 to the above address please PM me with the txid and I will send you a link to join the pool on Superbru. You can sign up to superbru here: https://www.superbru.com/tournaments/football/premier-league/ or download their app from your app store.

The Premier League starts in a little over a month's time on the 11th of August so you have until then to pay the entry fee but please pay as soon as you can. You can sign-up to Superbru now and you can always join the pool at a later date and your scores will carry over. If you're unfamiliar with how the tournament works please see the previous thread here, but basically we will be using the Superbru website which is free and easy to use. You input your score predictions for every game and you get 3 points for predicting the exact score, 1 for the correct winning team (or draw) and 1.5 for a close prediction. The winner will obviously be the person who gets the most points at the end of the season.

Sportsbet.io are sponsoring the pool again and have put a huge BTC0.2 into the pot along with offering a free 3mbtc bet to every weekly winner who scores the most points that round so that's 38 chances to win a free 3mbtc bet. Big thanks to jeremypwr and Sportsbet for sorting that out. As usual, 100% of the money received will be split between the top ten placed users at the end of the season. The first place jackpot prize will be a guaranteed 0.1BTC and then the rest of the money will be split between 2nd-10th places. If we get 50 users signing up that will be a further 0.125 in the pot so there should be over 0.3 in total. 60 users joined last season so we should be able to get at least 50+ this year. There will also be a small consolation prize of whatever is left in the pot for the person who gets the highest overall weekly round score at the end of the season so even if it becomes clear as the tournament progresses that you're unlikely to win a paid spot you still have a chance of winning something along with the weekly round free bet.

The payouts for last season were as follows and this season will be similar but of course it all depends on how many people play but it will be between 10-20 max:

*  The entry fee will be 2.5 mBTC and I'll leave the pot breakdown for hilariousandco to decide

Wasn't this always around £35-£40? 2.5 mBTC currently it's $77 (or £61), is it inflation?  Grin

Maybe the first few when we only had 20 users or so. It was 0.0025 last year and the World Cup pool was 0.002 but we're getting 0.2 in sponsorship compared to nothing when we first started. £60 is still a bargain when there's a chance to 3 mBTC Free Bet each week and 0.1 for first place.

Just wondering this, does anyone know anything about @tomahawk9? Dude just stop playing the pool the same month he stop being active in bitcointalk

Dunno, but looking at his feedback he might still have an active loan out with Darkstar that he took out a month prior to going AWOL to pay back within two months, so that doesn't look good: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3243635.msg61241585#msg61241585
Did not know about this loan thing. The amount is quite big but not big enough to merit going a way for high ranking account. Couple of months in sig campaign would have taken care of that.

My thinking so far was that unfortunately something happened to him. He went missing suddenly and he did not just disappear from forum, he stopped playing all the pools as well. I always thought that if it is conscious decision to step back, we higher ranks on the forum would have said so in some topic at least.

I have a feeling something happened to him, but there is no way we can verify it unless someone from his community who knows him personally comes out to clear it up. I don't think he left the forum because of a loan or something, and BTW Darkstar has been offline for almost two months now, I have an overdue loan as well, I've sent him a message on TG because that's where we mostly deal, but no response yet, and I don't think sending coin to his address is brave enough without hearing from the owner.

Where is Darkstar?

Don't know. Hadn't noticed he'd been away but his sig says he's on a break: "taking a break - expect delayed responses".

These would have to be calculated by hand, but it requires simply pulling data into Excel after every round - which isn't that much work. It still is manual work tho.

There is an option on Superbru to have grouped rounds for interim winners ie best of the month etc, but that might be a bit overkill. Wouldn't say no if Sportsbet wanted to offer freebets for those but I think the weekly round winner is already generous enough.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul Vs Nate Diaz boxing Aug 5th on Dazn PPV on: June 28, 2023, 08:55:58 AM
We got another tweet from Jake Paul addressing this fight by showing he's training to go 8 rounds.  It feels like after the last disaster of a press conference they really aren't doing much to promote this fight but walk through the motions.  It seems like once this fight fails Jake will try and fight KSI to establish some interest, and there are rumors of him fighting Nate Diaz in the octagon after this boxing match, but we'll see.  I personally think this Paul/Diaz fight is going to do really terrible numbers with the PPV and will probably hurt both fighter's brands.

I don't think this fight will hurt Jake unless he loses, but they haven't really been doing much to promote it. I almost kinda forgot about it to be honest, though there is still two months to go so maybe they will ramp up the promo once it gets closer. KSI will need another fight before he takes on Jake. It looks like KSI is trying to get the Tommy Fury fight done which is a decent step up without much risk to his rep. If he loses then it doesn't matter since Jake already lost so that fight can still happen but if KSI beats him then maybe he might argue he's on a different level to Jake. I don't think KSI beats Tommy though. He's only really fought nobodies so this is his first challenge in my opinion.

Yeah, 20 is probably too many to be honest. It's kinda annoying having to send out that many prizes as well haha. Maybe we can do top 10 substantial payments and then at the most 5 consolation prizes that basically just win you your money back or maybe a little more. I'll see how big the sponsorship is and how many people sign up before I decide but I don't think I will go with more than 15 this time.

Top 10 prize position + $100 free bet for 11-15th position.

Free bets as consolation prizes would be great if Sportsbet would agree to it. That would allow us to keep the top ten places high whilst also giving out some consolation prizes.

If we get anything near to or more than last season's figure, it will be a huge success. 100 is unrealistic for now because there will be many more pools and tournaments than previous season, and I don't think the pool will expand to such a size yet. Not impossible though

The pools have grown every year by ten or more people so far so hopefully they will keep growing. New users always join but of course some people also decide not to play again as well but we should be able to get 70 users this season and hopefully that will keep growing year after year. Maybe one year we can have some sort of mega-jackpot or maybe do some sort of winner takes all with a higher entry fee. Would be cool if someday we could get to the point where someone can win a whole bitcoin or something. Maybe Sportsbet or someone else should consider running a huge promo on their site where maybe hundreds of people can participate. They could offer other prizes like jerseys and football tickets etc.

I've spoke to jeremypwr about sponsoring the pool again so hopefully we will hear something back soon so I can get the sign-up thread up and running.

Does anyone have any opinions on whether we should stick with top 20 payouts or maybe just do 10-15 max? Obviously it's nice for more people to win something but the 10+ places are often just your money back or a little bit more. Bigger prizes for the top ten also makes it more exciting. With the freebets for each weekly round winner there's still always something to play for anyway.
