221  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 03, 2015, 08:59:50 PM

It's instant in our case

Not so instant right now. I did another btc -> card withdraw, and its been pending for a while.
Okay, to be fair, only a few minutes now, but hardly instant like the previous times. Thought Id try a withdraw outside of banking hours.

If it helps its transaction #3775

edit: Im guessing a problem with mychoice. I tried logging in there, but couldnt. I might have forgotten the password, so I tried resetting it, but Im not getting any email (fro mychoice). Tried logging in via card number, but its asking last 4 digits of my SSN, which I never gave (and we dont even have).
222  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why no buyback? on: February 03, 2015, 12:19:46 PM
I am most surprised that nobody has raised the point that this buyback made absolute zero business sense and therefore it was certain it was not going to be performed.

Actually, I thought it was a somewhat clever solution. Of course it would end up costing them a pretty penny ($100K per month if they kept their word), but it would have maintained the appearance of honoring their promises, raised the expectation level with their cult following while simultaneously taking a shitload of coins out of circulation probably for a long time, which by itself should also help raise the price. If it worked exceptionally well, it might even have made the "honor program" virtually free. So its actually a far better way to raise the price than just buying coins on the open market.

Quote
All this was triggered by the SEC investigation starting. Before SEC investigation he was still upbeat hyping up the coin with the "buyback going on schedule" crap. That was a different plan back then but then everything changed to a plan b.

I think the SEC is mostly a convenient excuse to let this house of cards collapse before it actually started costing them money.

While I have less money than I had when I started GAW, its still enough to launch a new company.

224  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: From 280 PH to 325 PH Overnight Rise? on: February 03, 2015, 08:13:48 AM
You're not looking at day to day. Even the grey line is a 504 block average (/6 per hour/24 = 3.5 days).
The blue line is a week average and its up by ~15% compared to last change.

Its clearly going up.
225  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: CloudMining.website is offering 1 GHs @ 0.001 BTC | 5% affiliate commission on: February 02, 2015, 09:55:51 AM
Its only been 2 months since I posted that. And if anything, it looks like I will hit that prediction spot on, collapse seems imminent, why else do you think they are giving away 10% on new contracts ?
226  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cloudmining.website New puppy in cloud mining on: February 01, 2015, 07:38:35 AM
Payment history is the worst kind of evidence. Every ponzi in history has paid out without problems.
Until the day they stop paying.

Check my signature for some more rational criteria to judge a cloud mining service.
227  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin debit card on: February 01, 2015, 07:33:59 AM
lol all this sounds great in practice and all and some of the points you made do have valid merrits behind them, but trust me if the pre load concept is going to be crap like the ANX Premium mastercard i have then it will be a pain in the ass to wait 36 hours minimal if you deposit bitcoin during middle of week with no holidays  Lips sealed

loading the card literally takes seconds (from deposited bitcoins).

Ah, this crytpo turned from such a shiny coin into a mud pit, filled with scamers and speculators.
Guess there s no industry which can exist without some serious regulation. It s in human nature to scam other people.

Its not in my nature, nor to fall for scams.
Then again I havent been investing in,  and luring people in to just about any btc HYIP known to man.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 20MB Fork on: January 30, 2015, 10:19:44 PM
I wonder/worry about is miners deliberately mining small blocks when the pile of unconfirmed transactions is waiting.

Small blocks propagate faster, so there is less chance of orphaning them.
230  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: how long will it take to make 1 bitcoin with $100 of hardware? on: January 30, 2015, 09:27:41 AM
it will take you around 3yrs to make one bitcoin.

Thats assuming difficulty wont go up, which it will.
In reality, you will probably never mine 1 BTC

And dont forget to factor in electricity cost, which will be far more than $100 over the years.
231  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: cointellect on: January 30, 2015, 09:05:38 AM
Several sources report this was posted on their facebook community page:

With hard work. The thing is we have more than 70000 customers. Lots of them when bitcoin drop request the money. We are a small company and we were not expecting so much request. So when we started with the delays, more and more customers did the same and start to request money. So our system failed. If all customers of a bank went there to take out the money, in the same day, the bank will not pay you. Everyone knows that and accept. We are passing the same. There is feel of fear in the air and a kind of panic and lots of customers made a lot of requests. So We are paying very slowly because the number of request is too high. I am sorry for that situation but like I told before we are working hard to pay to all customers.

There is no reason a legitimate mining company could not pay out all its customers every day (/week whatever) from their mining revenue.
So it looks like another ponzi is collapsing.
232  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: From 280 PH to 325 PH Overnight Rise? on: January 30, 2015, 07:43:42 AM
There are 144 blocks found on average each day so for one day the standard deviation  error is 100 / sqrt(144) or about 8%.  Two deviations are 16%

Keep in mind that on bitcoin wisdom, even the shortest period trend line (the grey one) is based on 504 blocks. It seems highly unlikely the current spike is just a statistical anomaly (or normality if you prefer Smiley ).

It could be previously turned off hardware being turned on again, but more likely IMO is that a next gen asic has arrived. Bitfury was supposed to bring their 28nm 0.2W/GH online by the end of last year. AFAIK, that didnt happen, maybe it did now. Asicminer and SP with very similar specs shouldnt be very far behind.

So cointellect is collapsing.. no actual mining company would have trouble paying out what they mine.

In other news, Skycoinlab tried to win a point in my scoring by disclosing domain name registration info.
Which only lead me to find out the guy behind it is a serial ponzi organiser:

Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!

Oh, and I added hashwar a while ago, forgot to mention it.

Did those divs not hit your wallets?

Hey Puppet,
the Who.is is public now, remove that point first.

It takes more than that, identities should be verifiable to get that point removed.

However, the info is very interesting nonetheless, and should if anything earn you bonus points. Googling Michel Lavoi, the name of the registrant, about the first hit you get is this:

Quote
More recently, Lavoie has been promoting “Sky Coin Lab”:

Sky Coin Lab accepts investments from affiliates on the promise of ROIs paid out via BitCoin.

michel lavoie (right) also has promotional videos for Trideci (UltraXProject Ponzi scheme relaunch) and GlobalAdShare (a $10 Ponzi scheme) on his account.

On the executive side of things, early last year Lavoie launched ProMatrixPlus. A similar-looking opportunity to GoldAdMatrix, ProMatrixPlus charged participants $27.50 to participate, and paid them on the recruitment of new affiliates via a series of matrices.

A visit to the ProMatrixPlus website indicates the scheme has stalled some time ago, and is likely the reason Lavoie has launched GoldAdMatrix a year or so later.

Read more here:  http://behindmlm.com/companies/goldadmatrix-review-2-567-recruitment-driven-scheme/

Yep, that same Michel Lavoie has been organising ponzi's before. As has his associate Hirsch, all the way back to Zeek Rewards and the like:

Quote
Hirsch (right) has a long history of releasing recruitment-driven matrix scams. His last venture was Rocket Cash Cylcler v2 (stylised as RCCv2), which launched back in February. Alexa statistics reveal that RCCv2 flopped, which when coupled with the recruitment requirements required to keep the scheme afloat, means that it’s likely collapsed some time ago.

Prior to RCCv2 Hirsch launched Rocket Cash Cycler in mid 2013 as a silent owner. Also recruitment dependent, RCCv2 launched when RCCv1 began to collapse.
Rocket Cash Cycler itself was a reboot of Hirsch’s prior matrix scheme, Cloud 2×2.

Going back even further, Hirsch was then involved in the Ponzi schemes Zeek Rewards and Bidify. I’ve previously covered Hirsch’s earlier MLM history in BehindMLM’s cloud2x2 review:

Todd Hirsch was a member of the recently stopped $600 million Ponzi scheme Zeek Rewards and is also a self-described “top earner” member of Bidify.

Hirsch currently claims to be the “#4 top earning” affiliate in Bidify.

Bidify, a penny auction (Bidsson) attached to an MLM business opportunity had a similar Ponzi points compensation plan to Zeek, which was immediately changed following SEC action against Zeek Rewards.

Hirsch recently claimed in a video that he was involved in promoting Zeek Rewards and recruiting new investors knowing full well it was a Ponzi scheme.

Hirsch also recently claimed on Troy Dooly’s MLMHelpdesk that he is a member of the suspected Ponzi investment scheme, ‘Banners Broker’.

Describing himself as a “program jumper” on his blog, Hirsch claims he’s ‘in about seven different programs at this time and (that he’s) joined and been apart of maybe over 50+ programs since (he) started in online marketing in early 2010.‘

Mike Lavoie, named as the CEO of Skycoinlabs in BitCoin Cycler marketing materials is a longtime partner of Hirsch’s. In their marketing efforts, Cloud 2×2 affiliates named Lavoie as co-founder of the scheme with Hirsch.

michel-lavoie-mike-goldadmatrix-adminOnly a few months ago, Lavoie (right) launched GoldAdMatrix. Similar to Hirsch’s matrix scams, Lavoie’s GoldAdMatrix had affiliates buy-in for between $2 to $567 and required constant recruitment to maintain commission payouts.

Alexa reveals some activity in Italy, but otherwise shortly after launch GoldAdMatrix appears to have flopped.

The mention of Sky Coin Labs in BitCoin Cycler’s marketing materials is interesting, as Lavoie (“frenchy36″) was seen promoting the scheme back in April:

Im sure thats all very reassuring.

236  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: TERABOX - Free 100GHS Trial - Contracts from 0.001/Ghs! on: January 29, 2015, 09:43:51 AM
So there are three different payout options.

1. Instant
2. Weekly
3. Monthly

Why monthly is cheaper than the others?

Because it gives the ponzi an extra month.
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who actually needs bitcoin if current currencies are going digital anyway? on: January 29, 2015, 09:41:37 AM
The key thing with bitcoin is not that its "digital". Fiat has been mostly digital for a long time. Its that its decentralized and peer to peer. So no need for a middleman and you are in full control of your money.

As for why people would use it; its easier to understand looking at it from the perspective of a business; fees are dramatically lower, no chance of fraud (stolen cc, fraudulent charge backs etc). Those two things alone will spur adoption, and when the savings get passed on to the consumer, you may want to use it too.

That said, I also think the most promising aspect of btc is the blockchain and what it will enable, more than bitcoin as a currency, but you cant have one without the other.

I will ask the owners to make a video from the mining center.
