What is the amount needed for the masternodes? And when will them start to work?

CryptoCoderz is implementing a concept called Xnodes that will not have a minimum required. You can lock in any amount of coins you like. Please read the Whitepaper for more info.

Xnodes are going to be developed during the following months.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SPECTRE | Untraceable Tx | Tor | Ring Signatures | Stealth Tech on: August 06, 2018, 09:07:27 AM
if for correct operation of ring signatures there is only one condition and this condition is some certain number of coins in the network and that's all.
That could be so and write, and not lie, that need to do cardinal actions and make some modifications to the conditions and actions.
    Everything works in automatic mode.
Do you know what percentage or number of coins in the network is needed for the correct operation of ring signatures?

Hi LuckySpectrecoin, I talked with RKh about what he meant in the post quoted by you. The answer to your question is contained in this article that Bitman86 gave to you: https://news.spectreproject.io/anonymous-transactions/

There are certain conditions for ring signatures to work, as the ring signature size is limited by the number of SPECTRE tokens on the network for the required token sizes. All of this is explained in the article. If there are not enough SPECTRE tokens, you might be forced to switch to a lower ring size, which reduces anonymity. Still a ring size of 8 (half of the default which is 16) will ensure sufficient anonymity and is usually possible with all transaction sizes below 10,000 SPECTRE.

What will be modified is removing the token sizes above 10,000 as the anonymity set would be too small, as well as the introduction of Stealth Staking which will hopefully help to increase the number of SPECTRE tokens, so that the full ring size of 16 will be available in all cases.

Hope that helps Smiley

XSPEC Development team surprised us all. I hope they will continue with privacy development. They proved they can do a lot. I read the ICO was not so successful for them. Do they have any dev fund for future development?

The funding is exactly what version 2 of the wallet is about! It will ensure a steady stream of funding going to Mandica to ensure ongoing development. For more information, see here: https://news.spectreproject.io/stealth-staking/

Until now, Mandica has paid the developers mostly from her own pocket afaik. She is extremely dedicated to the project.

How do we know if this new thread is from the Spectrecoin core team or the Wisp team? Both are good, but would be good to have clarity.

This thread is from the Spectrecoin core team. "XSPEC-team" is an approved account of the official team.
The thread about Wisp can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3371587.0

@Gandalf86 - three people do not a huge problem make....."unfortunately" xspec is doing far better than "wispers", what is left of them, anticipated.

Unfortunately you seem to have some kind of animosity against Wisp - you don't have to, it's an open ecosystem. Smiley  Wisp is not a competitor for Spectrecoin, it's rather a teammate trying a slightly different route.  Cool

I dwld the newest qt wallet 2.0.4.2 and try to find out my private key via console with dumpprivkey

wallet is encrypted and currently locked on my win 8.1

1. walletpassphrase <wpassphr> 60
then the wallet immediately close

any ideas? anyone got the same problem? thanks.

Please report the bug on Github: https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre/issues

Unfortunately there seem to be a lot of instabilities in the current wallet, I'm sure everything will be figured out sooner or later.

Hi, I'm wondering what purpose does the blockchain have in your project?

Spectre is a cryptocurrency and that's what the blockchain is used for. Like Bitcoin.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Wisp Project [WISP] Alternative SpectreCoin wallet - Community driven on: July 28, 2018, 11:49:09 AM
For those of you who don't know what a hardfork is, here is a gentle introduction:

How does a blockchain work? -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSo_EIwHSd4
What is a hard fork? -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCo6yyutYAM

Wisp will keep the original protocol, and Spectrecoin will make a fork. Conversely, Spectrecoin will keep the original name (Spectrecoin), and Wisp will be named Wisp. They will be two independent coins, and the Spectrecoin balances will be copied so your funds are independently spendable on both chains.

Thanks @Luc for pointing this out.  Smiley
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] Wisp Project [WISP] Alternative SpectreCoin wallet - Community driven on: July 26, 2018, 11:33:27 AM
There is a new release of SpectreCoin on Github that implements the fork: https://github.com/spectrecoin/spectre/releases/tag/v2.0.3.0

The Wisp Project will NOT follow this fork. This means that the fork will happen on 21/08/2018, 22:00 GMT. Nodes that don't update their wallet to Spectre V2 will be running on the Wisp chain automatically. Note that you will be able to run both in parallel in the future, as soon as we have released a standalone Wisp wallet. Your balance at the time of the fork will be available on both chains.

Feel free to ask any further questions regarding the fork here.  Smiley Or join our Discord (linked in the first post)

thanks, this is helpful , but is there any news for ESP now? price of ESP has already dump to 2 sat now , i don't think it just because the pump of BTC

Right, it is clearly because of a lack of news and development. Unfortunately I don't have any news either atm. Espers is a long term hold, always has been. As such, a dip to 2 sat doesn't really bother me because I'm sure it will go up again with further development that is happening.

CryptoCoderz said on Discord that the framework for Xnodes is being done and being tested. It's just not released yet.

Ok how do I do a rescan or a resync?

Take a look here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/tutorials/wiki/Using-crypto-wallets

  • To rescan, supply the "-rescan" command line switch.
  • To resync, do what is written under "Resetting everything"

Hope that helps!  Smiley

I have been staking ESP for nearly 3 weeks and am yet to recieve a single coin. It will often count down to 1-2 days, 12 hours or even 1 hour and then go straight back to 27-30 days. Why is this?
Is anyone one else having this problem?

Yes, the time estimation is totally off, unfortunately. Just ignore it ... your staking weight determines your probability to mine a block. Small balances will typically have to wait several weeks or even months to forge a new block, similar to Bitcoin mining. POS is not so different from POW, it just has a lower energy consumption but it can still take a long time until you get a reward.

In case you missed it, here is a new video of our developer and founder of Espers "CryptoCoderz" (Jonathan Zaretsky), talking about himself and Espers. It's the first video in a series called "Meet The Dev" that is currently being produced by CafeConTiki (another Espers team member).

This means you also know that were 2 Billions left, not 1 Billion, this is like 10% of total circulating supply at the time of the swap, so your statement 'there were a few coins left' is a big untruth. Are you trying to cover this shit?

As far as I remember, 1 Billion was left in the end. But I will ask again.  Smiley

There have also been discussions about a possible blockchain fork. If the Spectrecoin team decides to implement a hardfork to enforce development fees via the protocol, the Wisp Project will NOT support that fork, meaning that Wisp and Spectrecoin would split into two independent projects, where Wisp will maintain the original protocol. The ticker for our side of the fork will be [WISP] then. More information will be added as things progress. Since this forum is about altcoins, this thread will remain a "PRE-ANN" until a blockchain fork happens.

As things are standing at the moment, Spectrecoin seems to be planning to do a hardfork indeed, and introduce a development fee of 1/6 of all staking rewards.

For more info, see: https://news.spectreproject.io/stealth-staking/

The update to Spectre v2 is mandatory. This means that you must update to v2 to be able to stake or conduct transaction on the Spectre network after a certain date to be set. All previous versions of the wallet will be rejected by the network after this date. We will announce the exact date when the new wallet is ready to download from GitHub. In addition, we will implement a mechanism know as “replay protection” to prevent any transactions from being valid on the old blockchain and vice versa. This implementation is with Wisp in mind and will allow the Wisp community to continue working on the old version of the blockchain and develop a separate coin with their own design philosophy and goals. If the Wisp community takes this opportunity it will result in users being able to claim 1:1 balance of XSPEC / Wisp at the time when the update is activated.

Thanks @mandica and the Spectrecoin team for implementing replay protection in order to guarantee a smooth fork into two separate projects!  Cool  We are currently working together with the Spectrecoin developers and make sure that everything is correct, and to avoid disruptions between Spectre and Wisp.

(P.S. This is my eleven-hundredth post, yay  Smiley )

I think so!  Smiley  There hasn't been another swap.

I'm definitely on the new esp2 chain.

Whats sth?

My wallet address is ETFvZx7ydjfBrR6nettY3AnezGSzrmG2od

I checked block explorer and its saying I still have around 550000 espers left.

But my desktop wallet says 0  Huh

Is my wallet up to date? What desktop wallet everybody is running?

Sth. is short for "something", "or something" means one among other possibilities.

Compare your block number in the wallet with the block number shown in the explorer (bottom right corner). Probably you will have to resync.

First you can try to do a "rescan" by running the wallet binary with the "-rescan" switch.

I am a holder of few millions Espers, 8 mil exactly. But I bough my coins when it was 19 sats last year, and i'm be following  closely the project since, I don't enter discussions frequently because there are haters and fans of the project each trying to make a point. What I can say is that @justme22 user ihave a point, we want to know what happened with the development funds from the dev wallet, if they are asking for money. Also we didn't got what they promised us in the whitepaper, so maybe this is the reason why they won't gather more money from the community.

If you are talking about the unswapped coins, I assume they're still untouched ... do you have an address where these should be located?

Using them for hiring devs is actually a pretty good idea.

What unswapped coins? Was another swap that i missed or i not follow you. Second, what you suggest, to use my coins to hire devs, and why i would do this? Why to care about if the project will continue developing if i dont have any espers coins left?

Almost 2 years ago there was a swap from Espers 1 to Espers 2, carried out by Cryptocoderz. Not every single ESP1 coin was swapped, so there were a few coins left (about 1 billion) that he could either burn or keep. It was decided to keep it for future use, e.g. for marketing or development expenses, which was publicly explained and agreed on by the community. I'm not exactly sure how much is left at this point, but if it still exists Cryptocoderz could spend it for hiring developers. It hasn't anything to do with your coins.

Hi,

I transferred around 550000 esp from espers desktop wallet v0.8.6.7-Patch 0 Alpha

to

coinexchange.io

weeks ago but I don't see the deposit on coinexchange.

Now I am getting worried, the desktop wallet says 431 confirmations. Transaction ID: 896ef539442facc06564c4cdfaa99eb38074b3158c5ab9d245ffbdc64222e9d4-000

Please help.

Please anyone can help me with this  Cry

Hmm, that doesn't seem to be a valid Espers transaction. Maybe you are on a forked chain or sth? Put your address into the block explorer here and compare your balance to what is shown in your wallet: https://espv2.miningalts.com/

The XSPEC project is making pretty good progress recently, with Mandica as a project manager. Having multiple paid devs makes a difference indeed, and the blog posts make a very good impression!  Cool

Unfortunately they seem to be working on implementing development fees right now, according to Github. But progress is progress I guess.  Wink  Whether it is good or bad, time will tell.

@Nebell: You shouldn't be hating so much, there are good intentions here and everybody is trying to do their best. Sometimes conflicts disrupt the old plans and you're making new ones, that's how life goes.

The reason why we're asking for donations is because multiple people (including myself) asked for it. Cryptocoderz has always been a bit behind the schedule, but it's not a problem if it's expected, at least for me. They made a really nice mobile and web wallet in the last quartal. Now Jon is working on the Xnodes skeleton. 1 developer can't do magic within a few months, so that's why asking for donations is reasonable.

It's not like they didn't do anything, but admittedly until last December or so it was pretty silent around the project for some time. But Cryptocoderz (Jonathan Zaretsky) is being more active and more available now again, I think it has been a positive progress this year so far.

The developers ' faces are not disclosed and their identities are unclear.

Wrong, look at the ANN post for the real names of the most prominent people. Their company website (cryptocoderz.com) is temporarily down atm, but it used to host pictures of them as well. I have informed them and it's getting fixed soon I hope.

Furthermore, its credibility has declined due to outrageous fundraisers and delays.

What is called an outrageous delay by some, is just business as usual for others. We're just 4 days after Q2 today.

The size of the requested money for the exchange fundraiser is a direct result of the listing fees for that exchange. You don't have to donate if you don't like the exchanges. (CoinEx and Guldentrader are currently at stake)

239  Local / Deutsch (German) / Re: Bitcoin & die Steuer - FAQ on: June 24, 2018, 11:25:16 PM

Etwaige Haltezeiten könnte man damit natürlich vergessen.  Wink

Yes, we have moved to Discord. You can find the link in the ANN. This thread isn't really active.

Whats the potential of this coin? Are the developers active? are there staking rewards?
I have a lot of questions here, and Im still confused with this one.

  • The potential is larger than where we are now, clearly. I am a wizard but I can't see the future, unfortunately.  Wink
  • The developers are active
  • There are staking rewards
  • Feel free to ask your questions here, but I would recommend you to come to Discord where the largest portion of the community is.
