2221  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mt. Gox will release bitcoin in march - what's next? on: March 02, 2023, 11:19:45 AM
The news may not be good enough for the markets during March, but it will only be important for things to support bitcoin price analysis during March. Corrections may occur due to this plan, but however I don't know what the certainty is. My hope remains, bitcoin is expected to hold above $20K through March.

What are your plans now?

Mt. Gox creditors may finally start seeing their bitcoins this month
-cut-
Well if they are getting paid, a large portion of that will obviously hit the markets, and i wouldn't blame people dumping them. I know people who came in lately would see it insane to sell now but you weren't putting money in back then so you don't know what it would be like for them.

And before that happens, ton of speculators will dump their their bitcoins in the markets because they know that the price is going to dip hard. So this will be another leg down before bull for sure.
Usually this would affect to altcoins as it has in the past but this time i am not that sure. It's a purely BTC thing. Not BTC reacting to other real world financial events.

I wonder how much these people who cash out will need to pay in taxes total?
2222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why all these crypto-twitter "influencers" are still exist? on: March 02, 2023, 11:03:24 AM
I don't get what you mean by "still", they have been a growing thing from the start and grow when ever the market grows.
It's insanely lucrative job to be one and they get paid a lot for different teams covering their coins.
Reason why they exist is because crypto twitter exist. There are ton of people in crypto twitter who know what they are saying, and masses of newbs or even older ones  can't tell paid influencers and actual crypto enthusiasts apart.

I would say that tik-tok and youtube influencers are way bigger problem though. People are actually following what they say just because they show their face and make a show about it.

But being smart has never won over masses. Being a populist and putting up a show is what attracts people.
IMHO you are giving way too much credit for crypto community or for people in general. People are stupid so markets are behaving stupid too.

And we have always been a freak show, there's no way covering that up.
2223  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitnity.com - a community-driven gambling platform on: March 02, 2023, 10:42:51 AM

Prize draw was yesterday, and you haven't given that 10000 $BTNTY to anyone of the 10 winners?
Even if you haven't published who won, which i would find weirdest pr move ever, i double checked if you paid without telling anyone and you didn't. What could be the reason for this?

In the near future (Q1 of next year), we will have a halving, because of that, it's better to hold $BTC for now. If you want to own altcoins, why don't you try the tokens in the AI category? right now those tokens are getting the hype.
Are they? I know people say they are but according to coinmarketcap, if we filter AI coins, most of them are down, and relatively to other sectors i don't see that much difference. And in top of that, when people realize that they are not getting what they imagined or that token or blockchain wasn't needed for the tech, they end up holding worthless crypto without volume or liqudity, and they wil bel harder to recover than meme coins.
2225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to this Eth Investor? on: March 02, 2023, 09:59:06 AM
When I see this tweet from someone I cant imagine if the owner is where now. He didnt touch his asset for a very long time or is it that he is just still waiting for a great run? I do hope he isnt dead cause the money he left is really a huge one. Or if he loss his key is one of the surreal nightmare ever that will happened.  Lots of free airdrops and fork rewards to his wallet.

https://twitter.com/jconorgrogan/status/1629915700306354176?t=syRtuZ7caxWR3Es0sDwxDg&s=19
Dead most likely. I can't imagine why people would believe anything else because that's the most plausible scenario. People die. There were times when it was way more of a problem because relatives didn't understand what cryptos were and couldn't recover them as they didn't know how or if they should. If the owner would have lost his privatekey, it would be a juicy story that already leaked to press.

My best friend died years ago and happened to know he had sold every crypto before that. I passed a message to his family that don't wipe or sell his hard-drives. And explained that he used to get insanely big airdrops and there's a change he is getting more of them. But i don't think they even consider that cryptos might be actually valuable.
2226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cross-Platform Game Engine Unity Launches “Decentralization” on: March 01, 2023, 07:02:52 PM
I wonder why i haven't heard about this, as this is actually big news. They want to integrate nfts right to asset store. This would make it more easy to integrate actual nfts to games easily and i am guessing many game developers would want to use that as it's build in. However i still see big companies avoiding this as they would want to avoid any legal issues where people rob assets from each other or that at some point they would be defined as securities.

If you check the NFT marketplace, you will see how Blur marketplace is a rival of Opensea, even I read recently that the transactions on Blur surpasses that of Opensea recently.
-cut-
That doesn't surprise me as everyone wants a piece of the next airdrop. I have nothing against blur, and it would be good if someone actually challenged opensea as monopolies are never a good thing and competition makes everyone step up their game. Opensea even removed their fees (for a moment at least). I am guessing they have noticed that there could be a mass move happening to other site.

But i will wait and see if that volume stays up after the airdrop fuzz calms down.
2228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price guess for March on: March 01, 2023, 06:30:25 PM
I haven't made up my mind yet, this feels like start of the bull, but at the same time i feel it needs more time for people to accumulate before the fomo and parabolic move kicks in. Like maybe 4-5 months until charts get really heated. And i am totally going with feeling based analysis. At this moment it's as reliable as most of the TA in charts i've seen.
2229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Blur price speculation and discussion on: February 28, 2023, 09:49:58 PM
50x would take it over ada's current marketcap so i guess you have hopes that nft hype is far from over.

I am not saying it wouldn't go up there but i don't understand why people believe that blur would challenge opensea or any other nft platform just because of aidrops. Magic Eden had a reward program as well.
2230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] Pokerlook - NFT gaming revolution! on: February 28, 2023, 06:55:27 PM
Neat graphics but why in earth are you doing ICO in your own site? I mean there are reasons why people stop doing those.

One of the main ones is that who would want to connect their wallet to some unknown site that's most likely aimed to drain wallets?
I like the concept and the art but not in a million years i will connect my metamask to buy from your web page. You have to earn your trust before people do that.
2231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pantera Capital launch DeFi platform with Instant-Withdraw $ETH staking on: February 28, 2023, 06:39:18 PM
So, I'm actually surprised they've taken this move, given the ongoing uncertainty of staking regulation in the US right now , however as one of the biggest VC firms in crypto, i dont doubt they know what they're doing I guess...

I have played around with liquidity provision, seems robust, but havent tried staking or unstaking eth yet - it seems they're simply betting on Shanghai being a huge success, in order to offer instant withdrawals, basically lending against their own assets to offer convenience I suppose
That seems to be DeFi solution and regulators attacked CEXes that offered staking services (or just interest, not real staking). So real staking might be safe to do and not everyone want to set up validator nodes by themselves.

I haven't staked eth either by setting up a node but i feel it could be worth it in many ways.
2232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you say about this investment plan on: February 28, 2023, 06:28:56 PM
Is it safe to invest in Defi projects that has it's own Stablecoin? There is one project I like but the thought of having a stablecoin makes me feel unsafe about the project, we all know how such projects always end up, the mess with Luna and it's stable coin still lives in me till date.
Are there still DeFi projects with their own stable coins? If there are i wouldn't invest. Even if they got big. Or maybe especially when they get big i would avoid them because if i had to guess, i am assuming the whole peg could be dismantled with pure fud. And there's nothing easier than finding similarities for luna and and getting people to fear next luna.
2233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About Rapid Wealth Accumulation on: February 28, 2023, 06:20:00 PM
How to go from poor to millionaire fast in crypto?
I can answer how to get from being a millionaire to poor fast. I guess you just have to do the opposite.
Seriously though. If there would exist an answer to your question, don't you think that would be common knowledge and everyone would try to use that trick?
And everyone can't be millionaire as that would break the whole system where money is even valuable.

2234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still hunt for airdrops? on: February 28, 2023, 06:00:18 PM
Almost all airdrop videos on YouTube are all scams, do not try hunting for airdrops using YouTube videos, those airdrops links in Youtube videos are all fake links and once you connect your wallet your tokens will be wiped out.

Find the project team or the o projects official telegram group and ask them if they are doing any airdrops or giveaways, this is the perfect way to expose or know the truth about any airdrop campaign.
Let's be careful what we connect our crypto wallets to.
Not only should you never trust any airdrop where you need to link your wallet. You should ALWAYS double check even the official telegram group. Any telegram group that's offering you free stuff is most likely a fake group. I know some fake telegram groups made for mid level cryptocurrencies that claim to be an official groups and they have even more members then actual official one.

That being said. I don't hunt for airdrops. I usually get them just by being an early supporter of some projects. And they have been paying a lot in the past.

2235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: JASMY - worth investing? on: February 28, 2023, 03:28:40 PM
I see a lot of videos on YouTube lately about Jasmy, does anyone know where they hype has come from and if it is worth investing?

I have spent the last 5 months or so buying the dip in coins I already own to reduce my average buy but now thinking of adding a couple to my portfolio while prices are low and wondering if Jasmy is worth it.

See brief description below I have taken from internet.

The Jasmy project: As the first Japanese blockchain project, Jasmy provides a platform that looks to decentralize device and data coordination processes by using unique computing techniques and providing data security. The project offers some interesting data storage solutions for businesses and individuals alike.
I looked at it and haven't been this confused for a while.

White paper is in Japanese only, which seems weird approach for any future adoption. So i am assuming if you invested you must know some where to get more info.

From the English on their web pages i get that their whole idea seems to be all over the place. I don't have a clue what they have build already and how this Jasmy IOT platform is supposed to work.
Are they giving people a way to sell their customer data as behavior and consumption patterns to companies?

Trying to monetize big data via blockchain isn't anything new but i never got the idea why anyone would be interested on that. If you try to sell your own data via blockchain, how much you think it's going to be worth exactly?

And why is the blockchain even needed for this? Is your customer data really such a high op sec that you need decentralized ledger and military level encryption to protect it? Yet everyone gives it for free for most the phone apps and web pages that can sell it forward without you knowing it.
2236  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you have engaged in the war if you were the Ukrainian President? on: February 28, 2023, 11:51:00 AM
President Zelensky made a big mistake by engaging in war with Putin, knowning too well that he can't stand Putin, I think this dispute can only be resolved through peace talk. I'm appealing to Putin and Zelensky to end the dispute for humanity sake.
Would you also tell to rape victims that it's a big mistake to defend themselves because the rapist is stronger? That we should also listen how difficult it is for the rapist because someone put up a fight and made them hurt the victim because they didn't let him just to do what he wanted.

Because it sure sounds like you would.
2237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think Blur will overtake Opensea on: February 28, 2023, 11:15:39 AM
It's hard for late comers to take over first pioneers. BNB has yet taken over Ethereum. Binance Smart Chain vs Ethereum ERC-20 chain. Pancakeswap vs Uniswap. There is possibilities for late comers but they can not provide similar services and say they will beat the pionners in those branches.

To take over pioneers, those new platforms must have top-notch new services that bring something really new to potential customers. In reality, it does not happen too often from new startups which are like copy-cats than game-changers.
I don't think BNB's aim was ever to take over ETH or even compete with it. even if they offer similar services. And it would be dangerous signal if people started to trust them more as they have only 21 validators from which half of them are responsible for the network governance. Versus ETH2.0 that has over 500k validators now.
2238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solana was recently down, again! on: February 28, 2023, 11:00:11 AM
It is normal when a new project that is not fully coordinated properly ends up making the system not run smoothly and lots of problems occur. This already shows that this project is very risky, and there is a possibility that something worse will happen and will make many investors lose money. So be careful when you still have Solana in your wallet.
It's normal when you are building an AAA+ game with a billion moving parts that there will be bugs. But when you are building project that's handling actual finances for people, that's worth ~10-70 billion dollar in the marketcap, then having zero exploitable bugs is quite essential feature.

And Solana dev team STILL has no idea what caused this latest network outage which i find troublesome to say at least.

I like that we have a thread about LTC that hasn't been down for 11 years. But somehow SOL is in the top 10, and LTC is not...
I don't think it's fair to compare these. SOL has problems and i am not in anyway defending them but LTC is not building anything similar to sol.
2239  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: February 27, 2023, 08:39:01 PM
Learning how to cook really good and luxury food gets you far. You won't even want to eat outside when they can't offer half as decent food as you make.
It is cheap and If you get good enough you can make money with that skill.

It's also a really cool way to impress your date.
2240  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is for the important things on: February 27, 2023, 08:34:17 PM
Someone could see that i should be hitting my head in the wall now when i used to buy my kids stuff and decent food with btc in 2015. I remember one trip to a public common swimming hall costing me 0.3btc. But i don't regret it. That small luxury time that i get to spend with them, taking them to movies  when i was broke is something i can't put any price on. I could have saved everything and spend it now but that wouldn't give me same good memories that i got to do with them when they were kids.

And it's not like i spend it all. I spended a lot on ath as well.
