1341  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cardano still a good investment? on: July 05, 2023, 11:12:23 AM
Cardano has just completed 70 million transactions on its network. So I do not think any fud in the news is going to slow down the project. I will still hodl my ADA and hope for big gains in next 'bull run'.

There is still 1261 projects being built on it. And only 131 projects this far have been launched. https://ambcrypto.com/cardanos-latest-weekly-development-report-reveals-this-about-the-network/
Fud often hits the price, not the chain activity. And even if it was a security, it wouldn't kill ADA. It would just mean that exchanges trading it would need to be able to handle trading securities. Which most of the exchanges trading cryptos are not. Imho this will just make crypto exchanges complying more with regulators. In some ways it's a good thing. But i can see plenty crypto users seeing this as the end of free crypto. There are ways with ZK tech to comply with MICA for example. We just have to build us ready for regulators.
1342  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Irony of Bitcoin Cash's Rise on: July 04, 2023, 08:25:51 PM
Bitcoin Cash—why do they even choose the name Bitcoin Cash, if I may ask?

Well, I have come across many news stories regarding its features, how the EDX has made a great impact on it, the price pump, and some bloggers even asking if it's too late for one to purchase the token, and all of that. Well, the price pump is just a typical example of what happens to projects that have a little solid backing from some power institution, with or without any good use case. You will see them doing just fine, but let us not be overwhelmed, for this is crypto. We never can tell which agreement the Bitcoin Cash team has with that of EDX, although the positive price impact was not just on Bitcoin Cash alone; it was on a few other altcoins out there.

Newbies and investors should just be careful when making their investment choices, especially on projects like Bitcoin Cash, which just did a 100%+ in the last few weeks. Price might dump a little bit in order to correct that fast movement.
Well they probably wanted to take Bitcoin but it was taken. And because they want to see it as usable as "cash". "Blocksize war" when the fork happened was confusing as hell to me when i was stuggling to understand both sides, and lacked the technical understanding how the code works. And for the while both parties wanted to be the Bitcoin. I wonder how that looked from the eyes of a newbie.

I didn't even know which side to pick. But the spokesmen for the Bitcoin Cash were so annoying i quickly went for Bitcoin's camp.
1343  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: July 04, 2023, 08:07:52 PM
Have some empathy for OP people, fighting with addiction is a real thing. We aren't always so coherent and logical when we have lost a lot.

OP has lost his money and is angry, that's perfectly natural. At the same time he/she has figured out that gambling for living isn't a good choice to make a living for OP. And that playing should be fun. Which is a massive break trough for OP. Usually when we find a life changing solution we want to shout it from rooftops because we think it's going to apply for everyone.

But quitting gambling isn't for everyone, just like gambling is not for everyone, not everyone can just keep it fun. And that's ok. Skydiving or skiing aren't for everyone either, neither everyone can make a living with them.
1344  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi hacks [history] on: July 04, 2023, 07:44:47 PM
The Poly Network DeFi platform was hacked using a vulnerability in a smart contract, the hacker managed to issue tokens worth billions of dollars, in particular 99 million BNB, 10 billion BUSD, about 100 trillion SHIB, but they were of no value because they were not provided with liquidity. Nevertheless, the hacker was able to withdraw Ethereum for $ 5 million, Poly Network admitted the fact of hacking

https://twitter.com/PeckShieldAlert/status/1675443876574937088

Hackers famously use bridge attacks for their most successful attacks and Polygon is like a crypto made of bridges. *Surprised pikachu face*
One would think that a crypto project that's moving money for speed of 3 Million transactions per day would need to be iron proof for people to trust their money to it.
Now why would anyone want move real banks to decentralized platforms when they see something like this. Nor they should.

Sadly this won't be the last hack. Far from it.
1345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: July 04, 2023, 07:14:23 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
When you bundle up all the altcoins as a scam just because they are not bitcoin, you are in wrong tracks.

My opinion buy dip and sold faster on some profits like to be best revenge for all altcoins investors!
-cut-
So what you are doing is day trading? Something people have done since 16th century. Good for you if you are making profits but polishing it to level that gives you living is going to be whole another ball game.

So you are buying a dip? I am not sure if you know that buy low(dip) and sell high is supposed to be a joke? It's not a real advice because it's obviously based on hindsight.
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: July 04, 2023, 07:01:49 PM
-cut-
Placing bets based on guesswork simply doesn’t work!
-cut-
To beat the bookmakers, you need an EDGE, a strategic advantage that maximizes your chances of success. Here are some proven strategies that bettors can explore:
-cut-
The edge you wanted is to know everything about the players, the game and the culture of it. To being aware of old and new injuries, how the managers do their jobs and how different player combinations work. It's far from guesswork and i am baffled why do you think it would be similar to coin toss? Yeah, anyone can technically win but other team has higher changes to do it. And it's not like you can bet only for winner.

Your claim of 90% bettors losing their wagers doesn't seem to based on anything real.
1347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more ETH..... on: July 04, 2023, 04:56:22 PM
Those who have huge holdings, will not need pumpin anymore. They are already rich and with their coin POS, every week is like winning a lottery for those guys. Those from institutions are going to stake of course, these are the guys who want to make money using the money. Anyone would want to be part of the network to make money, it's the price that is preventing poor people from investing.

The recent news you can find today is that Vilatik is not staking his ETH. He sure is not like those guys.
Define huge holdings. Price is always relative, and number of "full coins" doesn''t matter. Just % of the tokens you own of the supply and value of them.

The fact that Vitalik isn't taking part to consensus is a very good thing, because his share of it (and the power coming with that) would be too big imho.
1348  Economy / Economics / Re: Chinese city now accepts CBDC payments for bus rides on: July 04, 2023, 04:32:00 PM
Jinan, the capital of eastern China’s Shandong Province, has started encouraging the adoption of the country’s central bank digital currency (CBDC) by introducing digital yuan payments across all its bus routes.

In its pilot phase, the city tested the introduction of CBDC payments on two bus lines. Following the trial period, the city has announced that it has implemented the new payment method for its entire bus network.

Local media outlet Shunwang-Jinan Daily recently reported that the city of Jinan has updated all its card readers and bus route software to allow passengers to pay using the county’s CBDC.

The city is also incentivizing the use of the digital yuan by giving fare discounts to passengers who opt for the CBDC payment method. According to the announcement, each person could get up to two discounted rides per day and a maximum of six discounted rides in a month if they choose to pay with the digital yuan.

The move is part of a broader push to promote the adoption of the digital yuan in China. On April 23, the Chinese city of Changshu announced it would begin paying civil servant salaries with the digital yuan. The announcement noted that all levels of personnel in public service, public institutions and state-owned units would be paid in the country’s CBDC from May.

Apart from bus rides and civil servant salaries, the country has also implemented its CBDC for its Belt and Road initiative and cross-border trades. On April 24, a plan to promote the CBDC in cross-border trade was issued in the Chinese city of Xuzhou. The city serves as a departure point for trains carrying goods to Europe.

Meanwhile, French bank BNP Paribas has also recently partnered with the Bank of China (BOC) to promote the use of the digital yuan. On May 5, local media outlet the South China Morning Post reported that the partnership would allow BNP Paribas’ corporate clients to connect with BOC’s system, enabling the use of the digital yuan for real-time transactions.

NEWS SOURCE
This should be placed in somewhere else then altcoins. Connecting CBDCs (especially China's version) with cryptocurrencies is quite misleading. It's more like cautionary tale for /Economics or /Politics & Society

Later they will declare CBDC as mandatory, only way to pay anything, but before that they need to provide education and possibility to use it for all citizens. And that's going to be a massive operation that takes some time.

1349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will the USD loose it's kingship? Who will it loose it to? on: July 04, 2023, 04:26:14 PM
It doesn't happen overnight mate, but I have belief that with time the USD will lose its Kingship as more nations keep adopting other alternative currencies when holding trades between themselves. When you really look at the emergence of regional economies like BRICS which keep getting more popular each passing year, you kind of notice a loss of confidence in the US dollar and other forms of currencies from the West and this will be one of those game changing moments in the years to come.
Countries in BRICS might be growing their GPT (China being most important player). But they have long way to catch up. And there are most likely going to be tensions between those countries as that project would need to have full transparency on every level between participants when infra is designed for it.

And those countries aren't really famous for their transparency, neither they could provide stabile enough infrastructure for it IMHO.
1350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Buy more ETH..... on: July 04, 2023, 04:08:43 PM
Im expect ethereum to go to the its ATH before it will break another record. that thing will possible to happen only if bitcoin will reach another all time high again. That being said that buy both bitcoin and ethereum for long term.
Bitcoin has been recovering so fast as well as ethereum since it was traded at the bottom at the earliest of this year.

What you have said above was actually make sense but im feeling doubt if people gonna hear it as they will not able to make a profit in short term. I meant they shall put eth as long term investment.
Short term will not even work in this kind of coin. It's caused by big marketcap makes it even hader to be pumped and dumped by traders.
Imho it also depends on fundamentals. IF ETH manages to scale (cut the fees and increase the speed while increasing transactions), it might as well surpass BTC in marketcap. I know people have been waiting flippening for a long time and when it seems to be closer there will be even harsher crash.

I am basing this on my feelings on the markets and rather long experience i have with crypto markets. Eth doesn't need Vitalik as a central figure anymore and Vitalik doesn't seem to want to jump the ship every time like Daniel Larimer.
1351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling scenario that keeps repeating on you on: July 04, 2023, 03:59:47 PM
Possible psychological phenomena explaining your experience. The brain is wired to look for patterns even if they don't exist. Because your mind associates losing with balances reaching multiples of 100, it's possible that this fear is impacting your performance.

One useful piece of advice is to stop worrying about specific numbers and instead concentrate on developing sound betting habits and managing your money. Keep in mind that the results of one roll should have no bearing on the results of another, as dice are statistically independent.

I cant claim I've been in the same situation as you when gaming, but I can say that I've been trapped in cycles before. The trick is to not allow these assumptions govern how we play. Maintaining a level head is crucial, rather than losing sight of the big picture in favor of arbitrary numerical goals.
Correct answer, but it's easier said than done. People seen patterns because they are wired to do that. Trying to intellectualize your process from sometimes unconscious patterns is challenging, especially when you don't understand why are you seeing patterns that aren't there in the first place.

Also it seeing those patterns fills the need of control, which you often don't have for outcome.
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 03, 2023, 10:57:45 PM
I see you haven't understood a thing about yourself, talk more of iconic peeps living in developed affluence...
As long as mark and musk aren't cyber theft or into any easy means to make alot of money, they'll always wanna do alot to get over Thier standards. Do you know how much it cost to make GLOBAL FAME?? it's priceless dude - atimes, you gotta work for it. I'm not saying they ain't got this fame already, but it's a WORLD WONDER that two billionaires wanna wage on a flight... Okay?? It could also be fun to them as that may eventually be Thier favorite sports and they'll wanna try doing it together.
I don't know what you are even talking about. It isn't going to be world wonder, it would be a chap circus with less then amateur athletes.

They don't need "global fame". Just google most famous people in the planet and take 5 articles and i guarantee that Elon Musk is top 1 in more then one of them. And i don't think there's a soul in a civilized world who wouldn't know what facebook is. So they don't need to do anything, and they have stuff to do. Getting beaten in the ring doesn't really rise their PR. And to top of that it most likely isn't going to be so interesting to watch that people would believe.

I mean i would watch them beating each other, but i most likely would be disappointed because their techniques would be below average. And i love when athletes actually know their stuff.
1353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you find it offensive to be referred to as an addicted gambler? on: July 03, 2023, 10:41:49 PM
Many people find it difficult to accept who they are and the bad habits that they have, accepting a habit is the first step that will determine if any help offered to you will work. As a gambler, will you find it offensive if you are referred to as a gambling addict? will you easily accept it or try to give excuses like some other people do, saying that they are not addicted to gambling when the signs are clearly there. Do you think identifying as an addicted gambler will make people stereotype you. The answer is different for every gambler here.
I would only be offended if that was true and i would be in denial about it. I don't see word "addict" offensive and since i know myself i know when i am addicted. I am addicted to many things in life and most of them are good for me. I still call them addictions because i couldn't quit them if i wanted.

I am sort of addicted to gambling as well but it's in control. I am not spending more money then i should and i am having more fun then having regrets. I think sometimes people need to hear truth from their friends about addiction, no matter if it hurts them or not. Being in denial is the worst.

Oh man..if you ask in here people will just shill you their own bag..
-cut-
Thing is if you ask investing advices from anywhere, you get people shilling their own bags. Sadly newcomers often don't have a clue to do their own research. That too requires some skills and experience to compare projects with each other. So, before they learn that skill, they can only ask questions, but they don't know who to trust. And even if they did know who to trust these avdisors could be wrong as well.
1355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: cant found 1000x !!! Should i make my own project ??? on: July 03, 2023, 10:11:01 PM
After the super pump of pepe who started the project on 2023 April 16th, many people started to make their own project. And we suddenly enter memes season, But, i found most of them is scams project, we can say 99% all of new project is scam (pump n dump, marketing wallet fraud, rugpull, etc). I just thinking after being scammed by hundred of new project, there will not project become the next pepe !!! Should i make my own project Huh
Go ahead but why would that pump? You do realize that Pepe token and others have teams with experience behind them, even though they are pseudonymous it's pretty clear how connected pepe for example is. You don't attract that much whales and get listed to binance immediately if you are not connected.

Even those rug pulling scammers have experianced teams. You don't pump something by yourself unless you have ton of extra money to do that. And no one is buying a generic token with anon single dev
1356  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 03, 2023, 10:00:20 PM
in my country the minimum age is 18 years old, and this is not only for gambling, it also serves for the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages, marriage, employment in the government or company, even for the person to open an account at the bank, in my country the person needs to be 18 years old or older. in the case of online casinos, it is difficult to control all the people who create accounts in the casino and this task of controlling so that people under 18 do not stay in the games of chance is a task of the parents, one should not blame some casino, the people should blame the parents who don't stay villainous, don't take good care of their children

casinos do their part to ask for kyc, but parents at home should watch what their children are doing, most parents are not asking their children what they do on the internet, what they do with the phone and computer, they don't look at the phones and their children's computers, they don't sit down with their children to talk about things like gambling in a way that makes them understand that they should only gamble when they are over 18 and that they shouldn't lie and break the law by playing in casinos knowing they have less 18 years old, are things that parents at home should do

in recent years, even 8-year-olds already have a phone, they are already on instagram, and I keep asking myself why do certain parents give an 8-year-old a phone? two years later the child is obviously already playing in a casino and age is a lie, in some cases even the child asks someone aged 18 to create an account in a casino and kyc and give him the account, it is normal for some 13 or 15 year olds do this kind of bad stuff
Why would anyone make a gambling account to 8-10 year old with his own name? I mean beside the fact it's immoral, what do they get from it? Kid's pocket money?

And imagine those 8 year olds making a ton of money and info about your casino income got to your local IRS equivalent, and since you didn't pay taxes for winnings you would get sued for tax evasion. All because you made an account to some kid.
1357  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever felt remorse after gambling? on: July 03, 2023, 09:52:42 PM
I saw this online and thought maybe i should bring on to bitcointalk for discussion.

If a person gamble and at the end of the game he starts to feel remorse is that a good thing or should the person be on alert?
Long time ago i felt it a lot. At the time i was reckless and didn't even understand i had a problem with gambling. That was before i had set any gambling rules and limits for myself.
And shame too after i had to tell i gambled my rent and couldn't afford it.

After i managed ask the money from my mother i stopped gambling all together. But i still loved gambling and wondered if there's anything i can do to keep it in control. So i made a set of rules to myself that i keep updating if i find something that doesn't work. When i stick to those rules i will be fine and don't have ever feel that remorse or shame of losing.
1358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The fight between Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk. Who you betting on? on: July 03, 2023, 09:39:07 PM
There isn't going to be any fight at all, even if there will be, it won't be something that serious that it would injure or kill one of the two, do you think they are mad or what? They know it's not what they need to do, all this must only be for fun or only catch the public's attention for something that we don't really know, they are doing well in their respective fields and I don't see any reason or need for them to do something as crazy as this.

Very soon, the truth will prevail and we will know the reason why this was done, or we may never know, but I really don't think that there is going to be a serious cage fight between two tech giants and billionaires who even if have something going on, this is not necessary for that.
I doubt that this would be just a marketing stunt, because what would they would they be even marketing? Unless Mark isn't buying twitter and integrating it to meta i can't see anything they would build together. Their values are too far from each other and they are in direct competition. I really think they are just bored billionaires. And i agree that this fight might not happen. Elon will be the one chickening out.
1359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Verified twitter, telegram account is the strong point for a new project? on: July 03, 2023, 08:35:55 PM
My friend informed me that at this time many upcoming project social account like twitter, telegram is verified.
Does that mean these projects can be trusted?
In fact many are encouraged to invest in any new project following this.
What is your opinion on this matter?
Why could it matter if twitter account have a checkmark? Because they can afford to pay $8 for checkmark? It doesn't matter to me at all if someone pays for it or not, i am looking at the development rather then silly optics.
It seems so silly to fund that platform anymore, it actually used to work well for cryptos, now it's just pointless.

I am not sure what are the requirements for verified telegram channels, but it's essential point that or something we should be focusing on.
Only improtant thing in telegram is that we should always double check the real @nick anyway when we are talking to someone.
1360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance 11th LUNC burn: 2.65 billion tokens destroyed on: July 03, 2023, 05:54:06 PM
I was wondering why binance is so hell bent in reviving this coin like why they are still supporting this disaster after so much time has passed.
we all know how rotten this coin is to the core yet there are still many attempts from binance in reviving this coin.
but despite of that, so many attempts have done already and this coin is still dead. surely it wouldn't revive in the future even if total supply
reduced to just thousands because this coin has no utility, no use, being abandoned by developers, basically its useless shit coin.
Anything is ok that brings them money and isn't illegal. Lunc volume is $31+ Million per day and majority of trading is happening in binance. So just the fees will make them lot of money.

It's a crappy community revival project but it's not a scam, at least not in a way that would be obvious.
Also it most likely doesn't drive Binance's customers away but keeps the bag holders happy too.

I understand why they are not delisting it but at the same time it's looking like a scar that we got from a scam.
