1261  Economy / Gambling / Re: Freebitco.in - FUN Token Investment Experiment on: July 19, 2023, 08:30:17 AM
Alot of alts have never recovered to their previous ATH even with bullruns. One instance is the Biswap; that thing tanked 90% compared to it's early 2022 pricing.

On the bright side, FUN tokens makes up with them free spins and slightly higher interest rates. Ain't complaining.
A lot is quite an understatement. Tiny fraction of them have recoverd. Most of them not and have flat our died, abandoned, slow rugged or just not developed at all. And funny enough, even some died ones raises occasionally from the dead to zombie-like walk before dying again. That's probably because of bot trading. I don't see FUN dying like that as it always will have a community behind it and tokenomics make sense.

It could drop in price for sure but it will most likely always get traded as it makes more and more sense to buy it the cheaper it is. Because it has an usecase other than trading.

Is home basement good idea ?
You would really want to live in the tiny basement rest of your life until you either get robbed and god knows what by someone with a bigger gun. Or wander around in radioactivity in something in total anarchy and chaos when there's no clean water, food or anything really. Much more merciful would be die instantly in that blast. There probably will be some survivors that will keep living in some high tech silo-like bunkers but i wouldn't want to be part of that group. It would consist of wealthy people with less real life skills then needed to actually survive in that situation.
1263  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cz or the Sec who would you support? on: July 18, 2023, 09:46:32 PM
We should worry about our own equivalence to SEC. EU has ESMA and just released new crypto-assets regulation, China has CSRC and so on...

I also don't really understand about china because they ban Bitcoin but HongKong is allowed crypto there and even regulated there and you might know that Hongkong is a special administrative region of China. and they even want to become a web3 hub for the Crypto Sector - https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-07-05/why-hong-kong-wants-to-be-a-hub-for-the-crypto-sector
Well china and their "One country, two systems" has always been very confusing. Especially now when there shouldn't be 2 systems but china is apparently too afraid to bring full commnunism to hong kong. Or they have a time frame for that. It would probably cause mayhem of biblical scale to try to implement it right away.

and other cases is Judge rules XRP is not a security in SEC's case against Ripple - https://cointelegraph.com/news/ripple-wins-case-against-sec-as-judge-rules-xrp-is-not-a-security
-cut-
I am guessing this could be a significant boost for the upcoming bull run. Not because XRP is excellent or anything like that. It will raise hopes that most of the other projects don't end up being securities either. I mean apparently SEC thought that Ripple was so obvious security that they kept fighting years in court for it. And if they lose THAT.. Well they would have to have pretty solid evidence for those others. SEC could even see that fighting in the court would be waste of taxpayers money and drop the whole issue.

1264  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: July 18, 2023, 09:29:45 PM
Parents decide to travel through a war zone with their child and everybody is amazed that they got killed? These people showed a total lack of responsibility for their child.
If this was the beginning of the war and they were trying to escape the conflict and died, like so many Ukrainians in 2020, I'd be more struck by their deaths, but they were careless and thought all these horrible things they were reading in the papers for a year could not happen to them.
This was the first thing that came to my mind. Who the hell goes to holiday into war zone and take their kids with them? I am putting the blame on Russian media and the fact that Moscow says that there's no war on that area, and anyone who doesn't read any other sources for information stays ignorant about the situation.

But like you said, it doesn't manage to take focus from war crimes that Russia is actively doing.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I understand meme coin good or bad position? on: July 18, 2023, 08:49:28 PM
How can I understand a meme coin's position in the current market? Is there any way to tell if it will be good or bad? I have seen MEXC exchange add many meme tokens daily. How to identify a good token from here?
Why and how could you? Meme tokens have anon devs and often very vague promises on what comes to roadmap. There always have been horrible exchanges that used list every meme coin or shitcoin out there but these days that doesn't even make any sense. Listing to random CEX used to be meaningful in the past when those shitcoins had their own blockchain and you couldn't trade them in Dexes. Now i don't know what they are thinking. Listing and paying for fake volume is just stupid move. I understand listing to respectable CEXes but to something like MEXC is just a red flag to me.
1266  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling effects on LGBTQ+ People on: July 17, 2023, 11:55:13 PM
The more important concern for the LGBTQ+ people is that they are being treated differently in a casino which may come under harassment. Also, the study says that people at the casino, the staff plus the public have shown discriminatory behavior towards these people.
How does that person know they are LGBTQ+? Is it because of the documents sent to the online casino or is there a behavior that is different from LGBTQ+ so there is discrimination against these people including from staff and other users?

I understand that LGBTQ+ is contradictory in some countries, there is still this ban even though LGBTQ+ is very strong in some countries, but I won't comment too much because for me LGBTQ+ is a contradictory gender.
Well bringing their partners and celebrating their time off with them could be a giveaway. Gay people like to kiss as much as heteros. But i think it would depends where you are playing at. Some places are more progressive than others and there are always drunk people in casino who have lost a lot could be provoked easily by anything. And i totally get why someone would rather gamble online then in crowds.
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? on: July 17, 2023, 11:48:52 PM
I heard of a story about two gamblers that got into a serious fight on the grounds that a bet they merged an amount of money equally to place  using the online account of one person among their two. Luckily for them the bet won. But something happened, when it got to the sharing formula of the total amount won the owner of the account  insisted on taking a lion's share since it was his account that was used in placing the bet. The latter refusing to accept it that way they got into a serious fight. How pathetic!

What could make you get into a fight with your fellow gambler? And would you agree at anytime to double cash with your fellow gambler to place a bet using his account, on the notion of increasing the potential win.
If it would be just about me and my money as a young man, i would be annoyed and probably provokative, but that's all.
But if my friend would decieve me now, it wouldn't be just me who would be affected, it would be everyone i am providing to. I would see that guy taking away a trip from my kids that i could have given to them, and that would piss me off beyond belief. So fight would be least of his worries. That is if i would have such "friends" which i don't. And i wouldn't put people on that position anyway where they would have to choose if they give my share or not.
1268  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation is making a mess of my savings. on: July 17, 2023, 11:34:53 PM
Inflation is really biting hard, and nobody is doing anything about it, should we all just go with what Tupac said, "that's just the way it is, things will never be the same".
A lot of person's have ascribed this global inflation to the crisis Rocking Ukraine and Russia,  a lot of person's have also said it's as a result of shortage of gas supply across Europe and other countries.
The whole story is not just clear, as to why inflation is biting so hard and IMF AND WORLD BANK are not doing anything about it and the people are just left to face their fate alone.
The prices of goods and services are constantly going astronomical high and there is no hope insight of this ugly situation coming to a halt.

The purchasing powers of citizens are getting weak and I don't understand if the consumer protection laws are even effective anymore this days.
You buy something for a certain amount today, in the next one week, that same item you bought  has charged Prince without any reason.
How are you guys pulling it through with this inflation?
What commodities, stocks exactly are you saving if inflation is taking such a big slice of it? I am hoping it's not fiat money, because that's pointless at this moment. This crisis isn't easy to fix and even suggesting there are easy solutions seems like pure populism to me. World is on fire and things will get a lot worse before they get better. You could try investing to gold. That's not going to make you a millionaire but it doesn't fall as fast as many other in crisis.

Electricity bills alone wiped my savings as i had a horrible contract but i've risen from worse and i can do it again.
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You trust Tether (USDT) Stablecoin? on: July 17, 2023, 11:04:08 PM
Tether (USDT): Tether is one of the most widely used stablecoins and has been around since 2014. It claims to be backed 1:1 by fiat currency reserves, although its transparency has been a subject of scrutiny.
-cut-
I am not sure where you are getting your info but you are wrong here. It's not 1:1 backed by fiat money, that's why it gets fudded in the first place. It's backed by 84.7% fiat cash, and there are several transparency audits you can find from their site

This is from their homepage:

Now i understand that 1:1 fiat reserves would be better but not even banks have that. It's insane how much more people are demanding from pegged coins. Usdt keeps being most fudded stablecoin out there even though their track record should speak for itself.
1270  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino! (New terms) on: July 17, 2023, 10:34:05 PM
FreeBitco.in is no longer a KYC free casino

Freebitco was known as a KYC free casino since it was created. But recently they have changed their terms. Now there are a lot of rules in the new terms of Freebitco. They have applied restricted jurisdiction rules as well. Based on this rule, a user shouldn't use FreeBitco.in if he/she is physically located in those restricted countries. Even they have added possible identity verification rules.

I believe that most of the forum members have an account on FreeBitco. Don't forget to read their new Terms. Based on the new terms of Freebitco, the website is owned and operated by "FBC BV". Perhaps, they have registered a licence under Curacao (I'm not sure about this yet).

You may follow this thread to get updates about the casinos License and KYC requirements: Information of Crypto Casinos License and KYC requirements.

Note: This topic is self-moderated in order to avoid gambling board spammers. Don't make off-topic discussions, and avoid spamming here.
It was the last legit one that i know of. I always were wondering how long they managed to stay kyckless for so long. And i doubted that they even did. As to my knowledge non-kyc casinos have been illegal for a while now. The fact that they didn't handle stablecoins or fiat money probably slowed the process but from what i gathered they were obligated to kyc for a while now if they encounter suspicious activity. I just thought that they maybe didn't bother to mention it.
1271  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding Crypto Tokens And What's The Difference With Crypto Coins? on: July 16, 2023, 11:29:27 PM
I have accepted that language changes. I used to get arguments about the origins and now i just don't care anymore. I've seen even talented developers using term "native token" about their incentives in L1. At that point i got frustrated and decided that this is not worth my time anymore so i completely stopped trying to preach the origins to everyone.

People have been using name shitcoins and memecoins more often then meme tokens or shit tokens so i am assuming it have been a lost battle for a while now. I don't really care. People who care understand the difference and people who don't care... Well i don't care if they do. It's not like they have even any say in the matter.
Why don't you care? Shouldn't fellow forum members be mutually beneficial to one another ?, so as to create a forum environment full of knowledge and understanding. I feel the warmth of the forum all this time, I think we should care about each other, right?
You are confusing caring enough to be enthusiast about it. How is it beneficial to anyone if keep on correcting people when they are not the ones who don't care. And honestly one word doesn't change anything. While history of the words is important "coins and tokens" were made up words in the first place. They were used because there were really no alternatives, even before tokens came people thought we should call them colored coins.

I rather speak about L1 and L2 projects, and some aren't that clear so i wait for the new terms to arise. Those are way more describing anyway and you don't have to explain to everyone what are coins vs tokens. I used to care way more, now it doesn't really matter to me.
1272  Economy / Speculation / Re: Be patient and you will be there soon. on: July 16, 2023, 10:04:27 PM
Patient is one of the key every BTC holders must embrace when waiting for bull market to come, because is a type of season every long and short BTC holders want to see before the end of the year before they can visit the market to sell. I bought BTC early last year when the price was $20k, and the price has taken a good step early this year to hit $30k which is very close to my expectations before I will start selling my BTC to have another opportunity to buy and hold for another bull to come. If you can endure with the current price situation, and hold not to allow any challenges make you to sell in this condition, I guess you will make a huge amount of profits from your holding soon. If the price of BTC reach $40k next month will you sell? I know many people will not sell until the price reach $100k, which it will take a long years before such dream will come to pass. What is your opinion.
Your whole title is contradicting itself. IF you are patient you are not expecting anything happening soon and you need to adjust your expectations indefinitely. It might be months, or years depending how patient you are going yo be but "patience" and "soon" in a same sentence is a premise of a joke.

Imho people trying to make few percentages in crypto haven't grasped the potential of extremely volatile markets. I have seen many newbs making peanuts by day trading alts and btc and people who just forgot they owned alts and made insane profits. New assets need new approaches. Traditional ways and generic trading doesn't necessarily apply here. Or at least people doing that aren't making the most of this scene.

A better question is: "What constitutes me/you?"
-cut-
That's a good question. Is our bacteria part of our psyche if it keeps us alive?

-cut-
PS. What constitutes a 'soul'? What is its chemical composition?
Imho that's just our level of self awareness we are calling as a soul or a psyche. Something we have developed over time and i see it as completely physical feature coming from the complexity of our bodies. There's really no evidence for us to assume that it would be anything else, like "spiritual" or "Magical", what ever they might mean to anyone.

Avoidance of Illegal Activities
You have never considered partaking in illegal actions like theft or fraud to finance your gambling activity.
-cut-
I don't agree with the avoidance of illegal activities point you made because I know some friends that are addicted but their addiction hasn't gotten to the point which they'll do some illegal things to get money to gamble. They have money so they gamble alot due to addiction.

Not everyone will allow their addiction problem to reach the stages of doing illegal things therefore you might be an addict and still not be commiting a crime to get money. Probably they'll borrow or take loans when they run out of where to get money to continue gambling.
-cut-
I think you misunderstood Op, as what he/she is trying to say is that one of the signs of addiction is that if you want to break a law to continue your habit. Not that everyone with an addiction would be criminals. Addiction can cause illegal behavior, however illegal behavior can exist without it and doesn't cause gambling addiction.

Quote
Lack of Loss Chasing
I believe this a very good sign for and against the topic. If someone who gambles a lot and he does this then it is clear he is addicted to gambling because as he is chasing his losses, he will keep making more losses on it until he loses all. But some who is not an addict will take his lose as one of those phenomenon where you play and don't win. He won't dwell on the agony of defeat or loses. Chasing of loses is really a way to determine how addicted someone is to gambling or not.
One could argue that this is more like desperate act caused by gambler's fallacy. It can be result of addiction but i can see it also as "all or nothing" -bet that in fact can stop your gambling streak for a long time by the fact you'll go broke and can't afford to gamble at all.
1275  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🎲BetFury.io| 💸Buy-Sell BFG on BetFury | 🔥Fury Pharaoh - New In-house Slot on: July 16, 2023, 08:34:06 PM
What do you mean that most prominent investors sold all their BFG; do you have any sources of that? I get that everybody is inpatient and want the token value to skyrocket but lets give them some time. The site have grown quite a lot in the recent years and probably already have some plans to develop the BFG tokens further.
Grown a lot? In what sense?

And where are you basing this assumption to? From what i gather, apy has been dropping radically and so has the number of allowed countries in this site. So if you have contradicting data about the risen volume, users or traffic i would love to see that and been proven wrong. Because that would mean there's hope for BFG and i would love to know that. Also i would be very interested to know where the traffic to this site is coming from. Because there's only so many places left.

Since they gathered a license, the list of restricted has become very big but they accept a VPN. The site has grown in the sense off: addition of new in-house games, new cryptos, a wheel where you can win real prizes, house edge has been dropped, a free coin to test out the games with a cash competition linked to, amounts that can be won in the daily battles has been increased,…
No idea about traffic, the only ones who can give us this, will be someone from the team.
They are allowing VPN in some specific cases, like if you are travelling and playing from a country you don't live in. That's basically only viable excuse to allow VPN if they aren't operating an illegal casino. You are not allowed to use this casino if you are a citizen of one of the restricted countries and obviously they can just KYC you if you win a lot and freeze your account. In fact they are obligated to do so by law.

It's your money and your risk to do so but don't say you weren't warned when this casino or your account finally gets busted. There has been huge amount of red flags in this one including staff publicly advocating VPN usage.

(Since now everything is nerfed on the website I cant even call Stake for a online casino anymore)
Right, accusations without any proof.

Since I been member here for couple of months, you see many sportsbetting website using this "KYC argument" when players want to cash out big winnings, so I don't want a casino that allow me to gamble and deposit but not withdrawal my earnings, be honest and you will get honestly and loyalty from me as a customer.
Kyc argument? You mean you are from restricted country trying to cash out and you can't because they found out?
If you want to play without kyc, use sites that aren't regulated. You would have risk a lot more with them as you are not protected at all but that's apparently what you are after.

1279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How was your first experience with gambling? on: July 15, 2023, 10:42:05 PM
Gambling is a game that has an addictive effect. Most people who have joined gambling sites will find it difficult to get out of the gambling circle. It doesn't matter how much you lose at gambling, as long as we still have money, we will continue to gamble

Can you share your first experience playing gambling? and who told you about gambling sites?

I myself know gambling sites from my own friends. I idly and try to deposit. Starting from playing with a little money, after a while I didn't know how much money I had spent playing gambling
If i cut the part where i was filling lotteries in early life, i think my first gambling session was with a physical roulette table. I didn't get the appeal though as i wasn't winning. But what really got me hooked was table card games, starting from fast poker and red dog. I never understood the appeal for the black jack as i couldn't win high prizes with low bets

Winning few month rents worth of money really opens your eyes for some possibilities. But so does losing them soon after.
1280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Young people should take more advantage of the crypto space. on: July 15, 2023, 10:39:39 PM
The issue is that young people are just starting their financial life now. Many of them from zero, without any heritage to boost their progress. So they have a lot of difficult allocating funds into investments, because their whole income is already compromised with another expeses, such as studies and other debts, most commonly regards recently acquired vehicles and houses. And if the young one is already attempting to build a family, those expenses are even higher. In the end it doesn't last anything or almost anything for investment purposes.

Crypto space is great for every ages, but for young people it could be even better if there were more jobs opportunities available here, so they could earn money without necessarily having to invest.
Yup, then again of you are so young that you still live with your parents, you can probably save some with shared meals and they most likely aren't asking too much for rent.
And as a young person at least i was very much irresponsible. I often wonder what would have i done if there would be cryptos around back when i was young, i most likely would have taken a student loan and buy them. Which is a horrible idea i know. But that would have only way for me to aquire them as i didn't have a job that would pay enough and neither i had rich parents.
