2241  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Fear : The Debacle of a Trader on: July 02, 2021, 01:45:21 PM
I like to say this often and I will say it again,,, and OP mentions it in the post: nothing is more important than knowing when to get in and get out.

And this to me is not something that happens DURING the trade or after you enter a trade position. It is something you decide even before you get in.

When to get in is the price you want to buy/short. When to get out is your Stop Loss AND Take Profit.

So easy yet so carelessly ignored by even veteran traders.
2242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 02, 2021, 01:10:52 PM
Switzerland vs Spain and Belgium vs Italy for tonight.

These will be a very interesting matches to watch. I predict that Spain and Belgium will advance to the next round. They have a better squad, the starting eleven and the bench. Goal feast might happen in both matches.
I personally don't believe in this quarter-final there will be many goals, when they compete at the group stage some teams play boringly with few goals scored. Like Switzerland in the group stage lost 3-0 by Italy and so is Spain, only drawing in the first two games makes me doubt it. But in the last match of the group stage and round of 16, these two teams made a surprise with many goals made. Therefore, I think in the quarter-finals there may be changes that make the game more careful and defensive, who knows.

I thought the same about the Last 16 too if we are being honest,,, and yet we got so surprised and saw an amazing number of goals even in regular time (not counting extra time) I believe the average was above 2.5 which is impossible to get even in normal leagues.

Rewards for offensive I hope but they will look at Spain and France and realize 2 goals cushion is NOT enough.
2243  Economy / Speculation / Re: Repeating the price cycle every 4 years on: July 02, 2021, 11:50:03 AM
I am against people making "predictions" as well but in the sense that there are too many that make it sound like they know something others don't, that is the problem I have with it. I am not saying that making predictions is bad, it is bad to tell people like it is guaranteed and we have too many people doing it.

Saying "bitcoin may go up according to this data" is fine, saying "bitcoin will go up because of this data" is the wrong thing. Unfortunately there are too many people who do not understand the difference and claim that they know what is going to happen and write their foundings and predictions like it is going to 100% happen when in reality they have no idea if it will happen or not. It is not easy to live in the crypto world as someone who knows the difference and still get to see people who think they know the whole thing every single day.

Worse,,, most of these people other than the actual traders themselves and analysts whose main and actual job it is to be making prediction, they even are just having the stuff written for them. I know because one of my colleagues main job is to write predictions for random CEOs to push out to all those crypto news outlets and if they like it they pick it and add it as part of a big article.

So it is all not even to manipulate the market but for exposure but it ends up being used to manipulate as the media picks what it wants to suit the agenda.
2244  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Listing a new coin on exchange FEES??? on: July 02, 2021, 11:05:48 AM
DEX listings seem to be the lowest at this point. I do not have a big comparison to make but you can currently list on PlasmaFinance for free (but the platform takes 5% of your raise).

Just note listing on DEX means opening an IDO first and then finishing it to list OR opening a liquidity pool with your own funds (which is why it is free).
2245  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gov must have power to reverse transactions, says co-chair of blockchain caucus on: July 02, 2021, 09:44:18 AM
I agree, there are several major bug within smart contract which causes big loss (such as Parity Wallet vulnerability which lock at least half million ETH). But in the end, ETH community decline to reverse the damage.

But i expect newer cryptocurrency which controlled by few company/group wiull have built-in protocol to reverse transaction easily.

And now that we even have governments who are making CBDCs to have reversible transactions,,, and now in defi you also have certain projects already working to reverse decisions (up to a certain limit in layer 2) I guess this will become the norm. Back in the day immutability was a big thing but I guess practical considerations mean we have to make concessions on some of these traits. Or do we?Smiley
2246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 02, 2021, 09:02:06 AM
Medvedev Cilic on Saturday! It looks clearer and clearer for Djoker.

but I actually think Williams will go to at least last 8. Her strength is just almost incomparable to most of the other women there.

I think you'll find both Williams sisters were knocked out *before* I posted.  A similar thing happened only a couple of weeks ago at their last tournament - they were both knocked out in about the third round.  (this time 'round one *cough* slipped took a dive on wet grass)

That totally explains why I did not find (I in fact did not even know both were in until I read one had retired the day before) when I was looking at day before outrights Venus was EXACTLY the same odds as Barty (6.75) so I took one on both,,, did not even know she had her game earlier than Barty. You cannot believe how badly tennis is covered in my country unless you read the English newspapers:) At least Barty went through easily, but now am looking for outrights again.
2247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 02, 2021, 07:49:57 AM

Holy wow,,, my team has a new manager and for once I think it is someone that could work (I mean besides preferring before to keep Poch but we all knew it was never going to last with his relationship with board).

Nuno is a great guy and he showed what Wolves could do with a lot of talent and attacking style,,, which is please what Spurs need to keep.

I do hope he does not bring in more Portuguese players only, we need to look English too:)

After a long search, finally tottenham hotspur is officially handled by nuno next season, nuno will coach tottenham until 2023 and i think tottenham have made the right move to sign nuno as coach, nuno has had a good job coaching when wolves and we can see if Wolves are able to reach the quarter-finals of the 2019-2020 Europa League with a modest squad, I think there will be some Wolves players who will most likely follow Nuno's footsteps to Tottenham and it seems that English is not a big problem for Nuno this time because of course he already understands the atmosphere  Premier League so far.

Yep,,, as I said I actually agree very much with this signing. I just naturally have doubts about the board's ability to actually allow him the freedom to have his way. It is a head coach rather than a pure manager role so already we know the limitations but as long as we maintain our attacking, and see if he can convince Kane to stay (but I am not counting on it) we have a chance. But we should see this as a rebuild not a season-altering decision.

On the other hand Coin Centre's Peter Van Valkenburgh is an absolute legend.

Definitely. Outside Nic Carter and probably Andreas Antonopoulos, I couldn't think of a better sort of "defender" than Van Valkenburgh.

Donate to Coin Center, people. They're doing a damn great job in defending Bitcoin from these imbeciles: https://www.coincenter.org/donate/

Sadly this is only the first time I have seen or heard his name but you are right,,, the guy's quite good to read about. I did hear his interview last month explaining Bitcoin though and it is SO surprising to hear interviews still talking about Bitcoin like this (comparison about email 20 years ago example).

I still think Andreas has a better way of simplifying things but this is just as good an educator. Thank you:)

Hope someone took the special where there were some good odds on four matches in the round of 16 going into overtime.
Which infact did happen. Couldn't remember if it was 20x or a 40x but it did payout well just as the over 120 goals would have.
3 matches with odds of 4 [At Least 3 Of The Round Of 16 Matches To Go To Extra-Time] ... Although I suspect I know where you got such huge numbers in your head, (the thing is that today for the first time blackjack was not announced). anxiety and weakness in the knees are the first symptoms of addiction to this promo, as a result, by being a little nostalgic and exaggerating the numbers, you were probably trying to fill today's gap! I mean, you're not alone Man!  Grin

I wanted to but then I thought about it and it would take something super special or something super boring for it to reach that,,, I did not expect so many games to be so special! But also yes, it was only 4x. It is still a big amount but considering everything, I was probably hoping my bet about no penalties to go through.

You know last night I stayed up so late waiting for Blackjack and it did not happen:) I have to set alarms maybe now to check every 2 hours;)
2251  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the only thing that humans cannot control on: July 02, 2021, 05:18:02 AM
Other than the obvious fact that there are a hundred things humans cannot control,,, I do not think Bitcoin always was like that and the design is such that we have to work hard to protect this!

Humans can control it if they work together hard enough. In the early days it was possible when there was just a few nodes but today thankfully it is decentralized but if we do not encourage ourselves and other nodes to continue,,, who knows? Or corporations work together to take over majority?

What if people and miners and devs stopped caring about integrity and gave in to big blocks and POS just to solve "scalabitity" problem?
2252  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC Go for Another All Time High This Year? on: July 01, 2021, 03:55:37 PM
We have not had more than a few new ATHs in a stretch so I would feel we are still due a few more:)

Very possible to see more, with how the market repeating itself it's best to keep your assets safe.

And if you do have more money to spare buy at this range and wait for the market to pump up before selling your coins, there's a good potential that the market will show for more bull after this correction, last quarter of this year may bring good market valuation as cycle
will turn between bear and bull.

Oh of course for sure,,, I am not keen at all to put my crypto into exchanges and DEXs and all that,,, not when it is so volatile and rug pulls happning everywhere. I think even those people wrapping their Bitcoins into Polkadot and pNetwork and what not if one of those networks exit scams they will be a lot of blood.

Just keeping BTC safe. Even if 100k ATH this year or next I am not selling, just enough for a bit of money and then wait for next ATH in 2025;)
2253  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk accidentally created a new cryptocurrency. WTF? on: July 01, 2021, 03:04:40 PM
FLOKI token?

Did anyone watch Vikings the tv series of History Channel? Floki is the name of one of my favorite characters from there,,, but from a hero he turned into a sort of enemy of the main actors and then finally decided to go off on his own and find his own new place in the land of volcanoes and hot springs:)

Not that this is relevant at all,,, but be wary of the random unthinkables that happen in crypto!
2254  Economy / Speculation / Re: Germany is about to allow legally the funds to invest in crypto, from July 1st on: July 01, 2021, 01:59:54 PM
That is a really good start wow,,, 20% of funds is a huge amount. Like you said it will not be 20% of 1.8 trillion but imagine even 1% of that is 18 billion. And if that starts, then retail will for sure follow. I guess it will mainly be for Bitcoin/Ethereum though, or maybe even stablecoins for spread investments?
2255  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Best indicators for this situation? on: July 01, 2021, 01:29:48 PM
Let's get things straight first. Trading is all speculation-based, and all the indicators you have included here are just to increase your chances of predicting the correct direction in which the market will go. It's not that it's not accurate. It's just that it goes in a different direction.

There are plenty of chances where the indicators predict correctly and plenty of wrong predictions as well. You have to use the correct combinations (maybe) and be consistent with your risk management. That's just how you can go about it.

Indeed. The accuracy of these indicators do not really change, they all help improve the accuracy of the predictions (you can still get it wrong of course but there is no such thing as 100% accuracy). And sometimes not a different direction, just not enough of the momentum in the right direction. For example, indicator predicting bottom of 29k so you set buy at 29.5 to be safe, but the market only moved to 30.5 k before rebounding. It was not wrong, and was not different direction,,, it simply was not accurate enough, but still accurate:)
2256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sheep, buy now? on: July 01, 2021, 12:14:53 PM
But I do believe we have all sort of learnt our lessons with ETH. ICO hype made it go boom,,, and ICO failure made it go bust. I believe it will be defi's turn, we just have to catch it.
Oh, and now it's really hard to catch Defi coins at a decent moment

It was a lot like ICO coins remember. Everything started going bad when ICOs raised money less and less each time but still they tried and then immediately dumped on listing. IDO coins now are the same I see. Raising less and less,,, and then swapping at worse and worse prices.

Once the IDO landscape stops raising money like the ICO did, then we know the winter is coming real bad. But for now, people still raising.
2257  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your Best trading platform is? on: July 01, 2021, 10:59:10 AM
I truly use on the grounds that in coinbase they have a decent exchanging UI which is acceptable and unwinding to my eyes still it relies upon the client if what are the acceptable methods of exchanging. I was certain of their security that is the reason I have no concerns even I store my assets for a year yet once in a while I additionally think, what of the past hacking situation will happen once more.

Yes,,, I have heard from many people that they prefer Coinbase above all else and to be fair, I would too. I mean nobody likes using exchanges because you keep your crypto there but let us face it, we all need to exchange crypto out to fiat at some point and sometimes exchanges are the best or safest or most convenient. Coinbase has the best license and regulation, that is why they have Visa principal membership.

But I cannot use Coinbase:) I would if I could! Honestly speaking.
2258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA EURO 2020 Discussion Thread | Current Phase: Finals in June 2021! on: July 01, 2021, 10:28:02 AM
It will be a very big loss, because this is no longer a group tournament and there is no right to make mistakes, and therefore you need to have all the strongest players of the main team at this point in time. De Bruyne has been unlucky lately to get injured at the most inopportune moment, like in the UEFA Champions League, for example, and now this has happened again. In modern football, a lot can depend on the presence of a creative player in the squad who can decide the outcome of the meeting, and we all remember very well how de Bruyne's exit in the match with Denmark turned the course of an unsuccessful game in favor of the Belgian national team. Exactly the same can be said about Eden Hazard, despite all his problems with injuries and playing at Real Madrid.

I still remember that E Hazard and KDB both turned the game on the head when they were trailing to Denmark 0-1. Even with not fully fit physicals and only a quarter match played, they could change the direction of the game,,, if they do not show up then Belgium have to NOT trail.

I feel like their coach will take this risk. Rest them both 100% and try to progress to Semis first before using them.
2259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Repeating the price cycle every 4 years on: July 01, 2021, 10:07:16 AM
Also because they think just because they think the cycle repeats in the same pattern and that they got the right call. Cycles have happened and they have been similar but never exactly the same,,, so far if you are patient enough the patterns hold but you can never really predict when the performance matches the past.

And again,,, we cannot guarantee the cycle repeats.
At the least you can still predict it a bit even though the time that it happens isn't similar. I think that if you in some way knows what's going to happen next, you will still at the least have a point of reference that you can use.

Well,,, anyone can do a prediction, we who live in this crypto space know that plenty of people are willing, and the whole space encourages that kind of thinking. Just because a cycle repeats and makes our predictions come true in 1 or 5 years, does not make us any more expert than we were before we made the prediction:)

But I understand what you are saying for sure, and points of reference are all we have!
2260  Economy / Exchanges / Re: U.K Banned binance exchange. on: July 01, 2021, 09:35:42 AM
Remember bitmex?  Grin

As long as Binance will allow UK users to use the platform it will go against the FCA's ruling,
https://register.fca.org.uk/s/firm?id=001b000000nojfNAAQ#what-can-this-firm-do-restrictions
The moment the FCA says that Binance is still allowing UK-based citizens it will turn ugly and CZ knows, that they withdrew their application on May 21st, they knew that can't obbey the rules so they will try and do another stunt. How many times it has been already?

Yup! But that is about the US and IRS and we all know how crazy they can go after Americans just to get their taxes owed,,, I always wondered if there was other countries as crazy as to go like that but now that UK Brexited, it does appear that they will do their best to chase income down. Maybe for now they are relaxed but sooner or later they will start cracking down.
