I'm glad the homeless are using the computer resources of their local library. I wonder how much BTC ppl have given them.

So you want to control price and supply? You could call yourself the Federal Reserve of Bitcoin!

TL,DR. What's the conclusion of the research? Where's arbitrage? How much do they suspect the miner's are siphoning?

Five out of nine of your gripes about the current economy can happen to Bitcoin...or any asset for that matter.

We need more widespread use for BTC to serve in a "liquidity Savior" role, but it's a cool idea.
Don't worry so much about the Fed ending quantitative easing, it's just like someone going on a diet after an eating binge...the rocky times are good, we need to recover honestly.

SO you think there's more room for them to fall?

Bitcoin doesn't see color, why do you?

I'm interested, shall I PM you? Sorry, I don't speak German.

There's already a post about this, but it's on another forum. Go to www.ebay.com and search for "Bitcoin"...it'll be a lot faster than sifting through these messages and will save you a trip here before you go to eBay anyway.

Having not seen a Trezor hack doesn't mean it's not possible.
Absolute security is relying on NO ONE else to give you your private keys.

An eBay auction for a 2011 BTC1 S2 Casascius coin just went for $835...it jumped from $515 to $835 in the last 2 minutes (see the link below). I bring this up for two reasons; - People on this thread want the sales data for their records, and
- The price represents a ~3x face valuation for this 2011 S2 coin, which is greater than these coins have sold for in the past; Usually these 2011 S2 coins go for 2x face, and while many put greater value on the 2011 S1 the 2011 S2 has a significantly lower mintage and this new, higher price could indicate that the market is starting to value the 2011 S2's more appropriately for their scarcity
In the interest of full disclosure, I was planning to bid on the coin but the price escalated out of my range so I'm not the winning bidder. Link to auction results: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201257119489?_trksid=p2050601.m570.l4455&_trkparms=gh1g%3DI201257119489.N7.S1.M9.R1.TR2&autorefresh=trueMost other crypto coin auctions on eBay recently have been for unfunded Casascius coins, funded Casascius coins with buy it now (only) prices of several thousand dollars, or Casascius "wanna be" coins (i.e., Cryptolator, etc.) This is the first realistically priced or true auction I've seen for a Casascius coin in a long time.

The most comforting part is that YOU have complete control over how much security you place around your money, be it stored in Bitcoins, stocks, gold, or cash under the proverbial mattress.

Anonymity has its virtues.
Check out Andreas Antonopoulos. Joe Rogan has interviewed him twice, both can be found on YouTube.

THere's no evidence that bitcoin has ANYTHING to do with it, in fact, why would it? The government has more important things to concern itself with.
The fact is, this guy renounced his citizenship, fine, and then he wants to get back into the country?? And he expects the US to say, "sure, come back in!"...this guy is a fool if he's surprised by this.
Here's an analogy...someone comes to your house and says "Fuck you, I hate this place, I don't ever want to be associated with it!" Would you want them back in your house again?
I agree with his t-shirt, but there's nothing we can do about that.

Interesting! Make sure you have at least a nominal amount of regular FIAT money so you are not screwed in case the Bitcoin experiment goes belly-up at any point! It is an interesting ride, but we should never forget about the volatile and experimental nature of this whole endeavour!
Bitcoin is destined to completely replace every kind of fiat currency by the end of 2015. It can't go wrong. Only if countries disappear. What makes you think that countries would just abandon their currency for one they cannot control?

Is BFL a cloud mining service?

Fuck man, what awful news!
Knowing what we all know about the anonymity of Bitcoin, you should have taken better precautions, backups for backups!
When did you buy the coins? How much cost did you lose?
