2281  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on How to Manage Gambling Addiction an Open Discussion. on: July 22, 2022, 01:18:54 PM
I believe addicted players know they are addicted, unless they suffer from a mental disorder which prevents them from having contact with reality, maybe for short periods of time. But when it's not the case and the person is conscious, they must realize they are problem gamblers, because it's not normal for someone to lose money in a daily, weekly or monthly basis that will be needed for purchasing basic goods or paying for the family's needs later. Third party's help is a great advantage in someone's recovery from addiction, but the initial desire to overcome the challenge must come from the individual himself.
Maybe they know that they have a gambling addiction but unfortunately, they don't have the initiative to find out how to overcome or cure the addiction. Or maybe they have the initiative to stop the addiction but they keep coming back to gambling again so that what they are doing doesn't work at all. This is why people who are addicted to gambling really need help from third parties, in this case, their families and friends around them to help them. So that if there are obstacles along the way, they can really help the problem gamblers to overcome them.
acceptance is the key, because no matter or harder you do but you are not totally accepting the fact that you are addicted then everything will come to nothing because that is the best way to be cured and be away from gambling.
also try to limit your self for a while , better to let small amount be used in gambling in this way we will eventually control your gambling activities and maybe things will come to different ways and may bring you happiness and enjoyment in the future.
True, Accepting the own realization can greatly boost the resistance of the urge to play. In my experience, Acceptance and my willingness to change is the one that made me do things right. It's true that stopping instantly after realization is not effective, The urge of playing after instantly stopping is growing tenfold. This is why limiting yourself in playing gambling like you only have a limited time or limited/allocated money to spend is effective because you will not experience a shock from not playing. Over the time time, The limits will be reduced and soon after you will realize to yourself that gambling is just an entertainment and not a part of your life.
2282  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: [MMORPG]Ni no Kuni NFT? on: July 21, 2022, 11:39:01 AM
Been playing this since the start, Akala ko kikita ako sa laro nato pero as of now wala pa ako nailalabas na pera sa Ni no Kuni.

2283  Local / Altcoins (Pilipinas) / Re: Axie Infinity Philippine Thread on: July 21, 2022, 08:35:43 AM

2284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on Psychology & Sociology Perspectives. on: July 21, 2022, 08:11:42 AM
this does sound funny but what do you do if it turns out that your culture requires you to play gambling?
I will follow that because that is the culture that requires me to play gambling. But I will always remember that I do not have to use too much money because that is the only requirement for my culture. And if that is enough, I will stop it as soon as possible and will not try to gamble for more because I know the risk of playing gambling for too long. Although that is a culture, we have our decision to stop and not risk more money to fill our satisfaction because we do not want to be addicted to gambling.

In my opinion, nowadays you are speaking in terms of your own culture (the culture and mentality of the country in which you were born).

I will give a specific example....

There are nations on planet Earth, in whose culture it is customary to spend a lot of money on wedding celebrations.  The wedding itself lasts several days.  Hundreds and thousands of guests are invited to the celebration.  The most expensive wines and products are bought.  The budget for this wedding is huge.  The groom borrows a very large amount of money and pays this debt all his life.  Logically, this is not rational.

But from the point of view of the representative of this particular people, this is a custom that cannot be violated.
I came from a country where Religious Marriage is important, People nowadays are becoming practical with their life choices, The Sociology about belief's and tradition is evolving. This is why some people in my country choose civil wedding that is relatively cheap over than religious marriage which needed a huge sum of money. This is also applicable to gambling, Not everyone follows customs and tradition. I have a Chinese friend who don't gamble and I don't know if he know this culture of them playing gamble during Chinese new year since he only watches me to play and whenever I invited him to join, He is always saying that he don't know and don't want to gamble.

2286  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 16xypjnxlrew trying to scam in exchange section on: July 17, 2022, 09:12:05 PM
This guy keep doing lending post again and again without collateral. Who's crazy lender would lend money from a random dude without collateral, reputation and even suspicious username. I see that his account were red tagged because of the repetitive lending request without collateral. Lenders here have been through a lot, They are not dumb enough to fall for obvious scam like this account is doing.

About the post he made using his 100USTC as a collateral, I don't know if he knows how collateral works.
2287  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: advice for who are witnessing this market for the first time. on: July 17, 2022, 08:34:16 PM
Any advice from those who have been in crypto for a long time for those who are seeing this market for the first time?
We have seen this situation in the market from time to time One year is perfectly good but in 2-1 years the market is in very bad condition. But those of you who are new should never invest or trade in this market and trade or invest if you have good knowledge. And no one will ever do futures trading in this random market, everyone should refrain from doing futures trading.
Coins prices are uncertain but we are on a bearish market right now, Why would you tell newbies not to invest or trade in the current market. This is the time where newbies should learn how to invest or trade in my own opinion. This is the type of market that we need to build ourselves and our portfolio for the expected bull market. Trading doesn't mean doing futures trading, They can start spot trading using small capital as long as they have enough knowledge that they are confident with. They will be thanking the experience they got from trading in bear market when the bull market arrives.
2288  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Countries have banned Bitcoin; Do you believe is because of criminal activities on: July 17, 2022, 08:17:54 PM

Most countries are giving excuses and  reason for banning Bitcoin is because it can easily be used to fund crimes.
But I think they are afraid of losing control of their citizens' financial activities because they believe being the ones regulating financial activities makes them powerful.
What are your thoughts
There are many reason why countries considering or starting to ban bitcoin. It's a common and easy reason to tell that bitcoin can be use for criminal activities due to it's nature like decentralized and anonymity. But one reason I think that is not being mention by governments is they can't milk and collect taxes on bitcoin that much since they don't have control in it. Most of the reasons of government is valid but it's just being the front on the real reason why they are banning bitcoin.
2289  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Many people become binance futures full time traders as job on: July 17, 2022, 07:27:38 PM
Now many people becomes binance full tome time fututrs trader as full time.
Its a good full time job reasons:
All ur earnings on binance debit card instant.
U dont need to go anywhere u cam even do job with smart phone.
I think kids should also learn that in school instead of useless things but good job how to make decent incone without going anywhere or over work.

Maby people now choose to become binance futures trader as full time income.
It's easier to say than done trust me. Are you aware of how many traders lost in futures? I can't even consider trading in futures again after I used it before. You can earn fast but you can be on loss much faster. The risk is just too high especially if you are new to trading. Kids should learn trading at their right age but should be advised not to use real money on it because we know that kids can't handle their emotions well.

It's like you are saying that everyone can be a millionaire if they do a trade or learn it. There are many old traders or have significant amount of experience that still haven't earned their millions yet. It's profitable but it's not easy.

Also binance is center of crypto without binance i have no idea how to deal with crypto they can close down all other exchangers but if binance stays then crypto stays.
Binance has most logical futures trading facolity for tge futures long short workers.

What about other platforms? Surely binance isn't the only exchange or platform that can provide easy access to learning and earning crypto. We can't deny the fact that many crypto users have used binance as a tool as their gateway in crypto but before binance got their name in the industry, There are many other platforms that is earlier and survive along with binance. Even if binance is gone, Crypto will stay even binance is gone  Wink
2290  Other / Meta / Re: This Symbol is very annoying , Moderator should have consider it on: July 17, 2022, 05:54:22 PM
This is the first time I seen this symbol. It seems that the issue depends on the device, OS and browser that the user is using. Surely this will be taken advantage by those thread creator that seeks for attention. I'm using Windows 10 and on Brave browser having the same problem with OP. I tried using Brave and Safari on IOS, I don't encounter any overlapping issues with it.
2291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: AML - Anti Money Laundering on: July 17, 2022, 05:15:06 PM
There have been multiple such cases. Not only because of AML high risk positive after an transaction from some address that is black-listed, but it can be for any reason the exchange wants it to be. They can make up literally any reason and call it suspicious. Using a VPN? Suspicious. Having too much money? Suspicious.

One of my friends got a temporary binance banned for using VPN from different countries each login. I mean what the Heck we are using a VPN for protecting why we still get banned Sad If the second auth pretty much match we safe right
Maybe your friend used an IP address from the VPN your friend is using that Binance are banning. I'm not so sure about this but maybe Binance has the list of flagged IP addresses, If you log in into those your account will be flagged. US Based IP is the one I can think of that your friend used that time since they binance is surely flagging those, This is why they encourage US users to use Binance US.
Nice compilation! Honestly may mga slang crypto words akong natutunan sa thread nato like JOMO, To take a Big Vern holiday, To receive a BFL upgrade  at To buy a Yesminer. May mga new terms/slang din na nagagawa over the time.

Very helpful to sa mga newbie especially if may plan sila mag seryoso sa crypto.
2293  Economy / Economics / Re: Remain decentralized with crypto or centralized with banks. on: July 16, 2022, 12:30:12 PM
Yes, it is true, governments never care about the comfort of citizens, here in my country the same thing too, I expect that the same thing is in most countries, when they provide you with such free or semi -free services, it is certain that they have other goals greater than that, they may want to track all your transactions Or prevented you from transferring your money into encrypted currencies, for example, the government does not waste any opportunity to impose centralization and control citizens and know all the details of their lives, especially the financial life, so I think this is the goal of creating this type of bank.
Nothing is free, it is the basis of a centralized financial system. In fact, I can make transactions hundreds of times every month using a local bank (same bank) with no fees but in reality they can still charge a service fee at the end of the month (card fee or admin fee). The government does not want to lose even though it actually uses our money stored in bank accounts. They say revenue sharing but they cut taxes. That's the thing that makes me never put a lot of money in a bank account again, it's totally unfair.
Yep That's how bank works. There will be never a free service especially on banks. There are many banks that offer zero charge on becoming their member but the reality is it will be the gateway for them to charge you fees as you use their service. Fees are scattered between their services and some is charging annual fees. There are couple of banks out there and they are just fighting with each other by providing you an advantage over other banks such as lower fees, 0 membership fee, waived annual fees and other promotions.

We have bitcoin on our side but we can't deny the comfortability that banks gives us on our daily lives. I myself have some money on my bank but it isn't that much since I don't fully trust them, It's just the life would be easier.
2294  Economy / Economics / Re: Your coins on CEX may be at risk this bear season on: July 16, 2022, 07:49:37 AM
With the current market situation, where the bear pushes the dip further, chances are most centralized exchanges are being forced to go insolvent or even shut down due to inability to meet up with government taxes. And should this happen, your coins are at risk. Either you lose it all or get compensated in cases of lenient exchanges.
Some Exchanges may not be trusted as most times they are vulnerable to hacker attackers. Take the case of Bithumb, a South Korean crypto currency exchange that lost a million dollars worth of customers crypto in 2017.

Your privacy matters a lot always use a non- custodial wallet and save yourself the stress.
Bear market shred off weak companies even exchanges can go bankrupt or force closures due to not sustaining it well during bear season.

Do you guys remembered C-CEX? It closed and says that they are "hacked" which is an old fashion way to scam people. Users who have funds and asset there haven't been compensated, Basically a scam. Weak exchanges can be on the same direction, Time can tell when would they close. Actually there are exchanges now that are filling up for bankruptcy, one of them is Voyager Digital. Obviously they aren't ready for this kind of market or they can't sustain their platform features that's why they filled for bankruptcy.

Store your coins in you wallet and avoid using weak or relatively new exchanges. Exchanges are becoming popular due to it's survivability in the market.
2295  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will the Mt. Gox coins affect Bitcoin’s price in August? on: July 16, 2022, 07:24:55 AM
I think it will affect bitcoin price in the time of release. I'm speculating that it will be affected short term but will bounce back to it's price. I can assume that there will be a sharp drop on price since there are many victims are now waiting for their coins to be released and sell into the market. I myself is waiting for the release and the sharp price drop since I'll be catching the bitcoin they are selling.
We've been there, Halos lahat naman ata tayo is nasa experience na ng ganyan scenario. This is why need natin mag set up ng take profit price targets para incase man na bumagsak yung price is profit padin tayo. If di ka sure na mag tatake profit ka kasi baka tumaas pa, Pwede mo hati-hatiin yung quantity ng coins mo para iba iba ang take profit price mo. Importante ang take profit at naranasan ko din yan experience mo in a hard way last 2017-2018 bull market. Inabot nako ng bear market bago ako nag take profit kaya yun almost breakeven lang ako that time. Sayang yung opportunity.
2297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardware wallet demand increases in 2022 bear market as exchange scramble on: July 16, 2022, 05:38:09 AM
Keeping your cryptocurrency investments safe is extremely important today, and thanks to the many established organizations that have provided crypto enthusiasts with secure storage options via hardware wallets.
hardware wallets add an extra layer of security to protect your cryptocurrencies from unwanted incidents especially hacking.
it may be in an uncertain bear market situation, and the purpose of a hard wallet is to keep its holdings for a long and safe period of time and also wait until the market returns to bullish.
Good security reasons are one of the reasons why hardware wallets are becoming the choice of cryptocurrency users. Moreover, the increase in bitcoin users (traders, investors) during last year's bull market is the reason why there is an increase in demand for hardware wallets. Looking back at how bad it is to store assets on a centralized exchange should also be a holder's consideration to owning a hardware wallet, so those are some of the reasons that support the increasing demand for these wallet.

Unfortunately I don't have any hardware wallets so far, but still think it's safe to store some of my bitcoins on electrum not connected to the internet. I might have it soon, but maybe not right now.

New crypto users now believe that non-custodial wallets is by far safest than those exchange wallets, It's been proven and believed by crypto enthusiast. On the bull market season, There is anm outstanding number of people who entered and learned about cryptocurrency. Hacks during bull market were significantly high and it makes people curious on how to protect their cryptos. Obviously with simple googling they found out that Hardware wallet is one thing to improve your coins security. This cause massive influx of buyers of hardware wallet. I remembered during the recent bull market, Hardware wallets in my country is having shortage that make sellers increase their prices by 1.5x and people still buying it.

I believe that if your assets worth is at least 10-15x than the cheapest mass produce hardware wallet (Trezor/Ledger) it would be better to buy and have one for the sake of peace of mind. I'm not saying that paper wallet such as electrum is bad actually it's good! but hardware wallet provide way better security.
2298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Need bitcoin! on: July 15, 2022, 08:07:35 PM
That's where you need bitcoin because nobody can restrict you of your funds but the problem is you need fiat to make daily transactions and buy stuff and bitcoin is not acceptable everywhere so you have to go through banking system at this time but they make it their rule to make any changes and restrict you of your funds.
In reality, banks and fiat money remain necessary for daily living, as @Muneng said, I completely agree with him. During difficult times, a bank can provide loans to serve your business, loans to invest in your business...but as long as we should not be too dependent on them, all our assets should not be left to their management. The reason we need bitcoin is that we need to be our own bank to reduce risk, as in the example I mentioned above.
This is why we need to be educated on how to use and take advantage of banks. Banks are helpful if we use it the right way, Banks provide benefits to their users such as loans, discounts, point system and other things that will let you benefit from them but this doesn't mean that we should put most of our money to them. We don't have full control of our money if it's on our banks, They can do anything like having our account froze, restrict our transactions or even worst just like what the china's banks are doing now. This is why we need bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a whole to set up our own bank and have fully control of our money.
2299  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Beware]New scammer scheme using exchange on: July 15, 2022, 07:42:44 PM
Those scammers are getting more clever as time passes it seems.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Telegram is certainly a wild west when come to scammers, they roam freely there, I cannot join a legitimate crypto group without getting some of this guys sending me PM's.  Roll Eyes

I have reached a point whenever I receive a "Hello" from some stranger I immediately block them, I used to try and make them lose time, play along a bit so I can discover their modus operandi, which always ended up being the same, either a super business opportunity I should not miss or someone needing/offering help.  Roll Eyes

A bunch of losers.

True! This is why I do have separate telegram account for cryptocurrency, I created a separate one to filter out those spam messages. Telegram is a hotspot for scammers, I wonder if anyone fallen for this newer scheme of scamming. It's been a practice of mine not to tell anyone about my telegram that I'm using on crypto so any messages I will receive in my account is I consider them scammers since I don't interact that much on my telegram groups. I've seen many schemes over years and this scheme is relatively new to me. Scammers are evolving in different ways.
2300  Other / Meta / Re: Where do you post most? on: July 15, 2022, 07:06:44 PM

These are my results. I tried guessing my most post boards and I'm correct. I'm a gambler for years now and it's my number 1 guess, so yeah It's pretty expected that it gambling discussion will be on top, My second guess is my Local board Philippines, Back then I am pretty active there and I like posting there since I like using my native language and discuss with my fellow countrymen. Third is as you expect bitcoin discussion, I'm assuming that most of us have bitcoin discussion on the top of the list.

Today, I like spreading out my post on different boards and sections since our Local board is pretty inactive and bitcoin discussions having repetitive topics.
