2281  Economy / Speculation / Re: idiots dumping the price on: January 17, 2015, 02:38:29 AM
this isnt funny this is my life savings here and i dont want you to fuck it up for me its all your fault
No, it's not all our fault. It's all your fault. What were you thinking putting your life savings into something a market cap of only $5 billion? You fucked it up yourself, and until you take some responsibility for your decisions instead of blaming unrelated people, you'll just keep on fucking up until you've lost everything.

Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
2282  Other / Meta / Re: Question about selling (in some countries)illegal stuff on bitcointalk. on: January 17, 2015, 02:07:30 AM
I don't know about everybody, but yes... I might know a thing or two about International Law.  Grin
There also appears to be a thing or two about international law you don't know, one of which is the dual criminality requirement for extradition. A person can only be extradited for something that is a crime in both countries. If it is legal for the OP to export the seeds (which is a big if, since exporting drugs is an entirely different matter than producing them for personal consumption), then he can't be extradited.
2283  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you make money from the falling bitcoin price yesterday on: January 16, 2015, 07:10:35 AM
tell that to the hordes who sustain something else Smiley
I tried telling them that, but they wouldn't listen. No matter. I don't mind getting rich at their expense.
2284  Economy / Speculation / Re: Did you make money from the falling bitcoin price yesterday on: January 16, 2015, 03:07:35 AM
I sure did. That was exciting. Grin

hey, but is it not the bitcoiners philosophy to use Bitcoin as currency only without any speculation?
Huh No, it is not. That sounds like a rather poorly conceived philosophy in any case, as a currency needs speculators to provide liquidity.
2285  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Swedish children's TV dancing genitals cartoon sparks parental outcry on: January 15, 2015, 09:47:15 AM
Those are dancing vulvae, not dancing vaginae. See, this is what happens when kids aren't educated about their bodies at a young age: they grow into adults who don't know their own anatomy. Not that it would help much; in my school at least, it was never actually explained what the clitoris was or did. Sure, it was labelled on the anatomical diagrams, but nobody told us what to do with it. It certainly would have saved a lot of disappointment.
2286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what is the spooky crazy rumor circulating about bitcoin? on: January 15, 2015, 07:54:01 AM
Actually, I, too, just heard a very, very bad rumor. Not sure if it's the same one, but I and a couple other Bitcoiners are duly looking into it. During the conference call, us three concurred in hoping it's not true.

This is fucked up on so many levels. And, to think just prior to being informed, I've set up a Twitter account to try to garner a million folks into seeing Bitcoin for the first time. I'm so pissed right about now.

Here's to hoping it ain't true, albeit the proof to date is dictating elsewise.
Relax, would you? My sources tell me the witnesses have agreed to keep quiet about it, so as long as nobody left a paper trail, we should be in the clear.
2287  Other / Off-topic / Re: Meet Hamdog on: January 15, 2015, 04:54:57 AM
Why does Hamdog look suspiciously like the houndeyes from Half-Life, which coincidentally also came out about 15 years ago?

Wimp. I will catch this knife with both hands then lick the blood from the blade. Cool

Bow to the traders and trollers, your MORON!
*bows* Yes, my moron.
2290  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for +trust members/influential members private opinions on a topic on: January 14, 2015, 11:42:02 AM
I don't know what you're up to, but I'm certainly interested in finding out.
2291  Economy / Economics / Re: Price drop : bitcoinners happy ? on: January 14, 2015, 07:05:30 AM
I wonder how the lucky ass early investors that made a killing like rpietila are feeling right now. Will they panic out before its too late and we do double digits? It must suck so hard being a super early investor and not having sold all at 1k.
We're feeling fantastic. We won't panic; if we go to double digits, we'll just keep on buying those cheap coins. Using the money we made by selling above $1k. Luck, my ass. Cool

Why so negative? Are you jealous?

2293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: price, use and value on: January 14, 2015, 01:41:58 AM
Say you're not the only person who wants to send $2000 to your brother. Say 100 million people want to do the same thing simultaneously. You will notice that there aren't that many bitcoins and never will be, so you and everyone else will have to do your business with a small fraction of a bitcoin. And if a small fraction of a bitcoin is to be used to send thousands of dollars... well, you do the math.
2294  Economy / Speculation / Re: Before the day ends $200 on: January 13, 2015, 12:03:51 PM
I bought 400 bitcoin today. Tongue
I only bought BTC100 today. But if the price drops below US$200, I'll buy BTC100 more. Gotta grab those cheap coins. Grin
2295  Economy / Economics / Re: Were the Keynesians wrong? on: January 13, 2015, 11:03:03 AM
Why are Keynesians always wrong about economics?
The same reason flat-Earthers are always wrong about geography: because the theory is so thoroughly contradicted by the facts that only a fool or madman could believe it.
2296  Other / Meta / Re: Speculation thread deletion criteria suggestion on: January 10, 2015, 12:40:27 PM
So, you propose deleting >99% of Speculation threads. It's a good idea in theory, but how well will it work in practice?
2297  Other / Off-topic / Re: Don't try to format a partition of the usb on: January 09, 2015, 12:56:19 PM
It formatted the whole drive?

What program did you use?
Diskpart?
I'm guessing Windows Explorer.

Do not ever click Yes to this dialog. Nothing good will come of it. Yes, it will blow away all other partitions on the disk. No, you don't get a warning.
2298  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin worst investement 2014 on: January 09, 2015, 02:32:32 AM
So which part of 2014 or of the year are so hard for you bullts to understand?
The "of the year" part. The fiscal year is not the same as the calendar year in all jurisdictions. In particular, in Australia, New Zealand, Egypt, and Pakistan, the fiscal year starts on the previous July, which makes Bitcoin the best investment in 2014. It's not looking so good for 2015, but it might turn around before the end of June, so who knows?

The point is that arbitrary dates are meaningless without context. The price hit an all-time-high at the end of November 2013 and has been falling ever since, so if you pick the following January as the start of the year, of course it's going to look bad. But not everybody cares about January, or any other arbitrary date for that matter; I certainly don't.
2299  Other / Off-topic / Re: $1000 Skateboard on: January 08, 2015, 12:00:36 PM
You can't even do any tricks on it. All you can do is just ride it around.

What is the point of having an electric skateboard? Is it really that hard to push your foot off the ground once in a while? Is that effort worth $1000 to you?

2300  Economy / Speculation / Re: Counter to "Why Bitcoin is dropping ...buying." AMA format / doomsday debunked on: January 07, 2015, 03:27:37 AM
Man oh man. You need to get your arguments squared away and correct guy.

...

For a guy that claims to be in the financial industry, reading your posts makes me think you're a teller who has sat in on a few loan officer meetings. I don't want to take away from this thread, I like your ideas and for facilitating a discussion, just don't parrot things. The world is much larger than the US and on the contrary, many countries are superior to the US in many ways.

I mean come on. China, a fabricated economy? I'm an Australian, and I know that China is by far Australia's largest trading partner (both imports and exports). Unless Australia's economy is fabricated too, you've got some explaining to do.
