2301  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 14, 2022, 12:11:04 AM
But the question is "can they maintain their good performance until the end of the season"? Considering there are still many remaining matches, I think it is difficult to always win until the season is over. I don't doubt Arsenal squad quality, but EPL is a very competitive league, every team can surprise us.
I think Arsenal can very well maintain this performance till the end of the season, some weeks ago quite a lot of people were still doubting Arsenal's title credentials, some even said they'd not possibly top the league heading into christmas, but they are 5 points clear heading into the WC/christmas season, the question now should be if the rest of the chasing pack can chase them and catch up in the end.

Having said that, City look like the only team than can maybe catch Arsenal and go ahead of them, but tbh City have not been really good this season, Haaland has scored quite a lot of goals and that has overshadowed most of City's poor performances, as they have struggled in more games than not, and have had to win many games from losing positions, all of these is to Arsenal's benefit, if their major challengers aren't at their blistering best, it means if they (Arsenal) can maintain their own form, then their chances are very high to be crowned champions.

Unai Emery is an experienced coach who has coached several big teams before so it is only natural that he succeeded so quickly when he was shown as Aston Villa coach.
The Aston Villa board/hierarchy should prolly have fired Steven Gerrard a lot sooner than they did, i mean, his time at the club was a colossal failure, and the handwriting was all over the wall that he could do no better than what he was doing then. Unai is a fantastic coach with European titles to his name, tbh i was pretty surprised that Aston Villa were able to acquire his signature, he will do good things with the club, and i am certain they'll not be in a relegation fight come the end of the season, but will prolly finish the season in the top half of the table.
2303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is a Quality Post? on: November 12, 2022, 09:05:29 PM
Absolutely a very thoughtful explanation of the entire forum I guess, but if I must be honest, there's really no Quality post, and if there's, they're just few. What I found here on BTT Forum is informative post, which I think most people refer to as quality, we need to learn the difference, because everyone is just after quality post, they write heavens and earth all together, but one informative line, it's enough to spike a superb light in the live of forum users
Imo there is absolutely no difference, a quality post is one that has ample information about the existing subject/topic of discussion, meaning that is an informative post, i don't know why you are differentiating the both of them when there is definitely no difference, they can both be considered synonyms in this context and can be used interchangeably without any confusion.
I'll add that a quality post is a post with references to the source.
I don't see how that makes a post a quality one, and only posts that are extracted/copied from somewhere requires a reference/citation to the original source.
2304  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your lost from FTX collapse on: November 12, 2022, 06:17:01 PM
Due to huge crypto exchange FTX brankcupcy . what is your lost amount?
I have lost absolutely nothing, i don't hold funds on exchanges, neither have i ever used FTX, and i also own zero FTT. These things can't happen enough for people to understand that leaving their funds on exchanges is a terrible mistake and they should also not be hodling funds/coins that are basically centralized/worthless shitcoins that can collapse pretty easily, there'd be many more similar incidences in the future, but i'm afraid it will happen with no lessons learned. Having said that, there is a reason why people hodl Bitcoin that is sustainable for the long run, because it can't go extinct or completely collapse, there could be a serious plunge like what is happening now, but since it basically has an actual utility, you just know that it is definitely going to recover with time.
2305  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria (Naija) on: November 12, 2022, 05:58:20 PM
Is it constitutional for presidential candidates to attend a random town hall or debate hosted by a media individual or house? It is not; everyone has the right to decline such an invitation for their own safety; politics is a dirty game with a high rate of ambush and assassination; these men could be kidnapped or killed in the name of non-constitutional debate.
None of these candidates actually boycott debates due to fears of their safety, even as you typed that you knew that wasn't part of the reasons they failed to attend the debate, they could be assassinated, kidnapped and killed as they carry out their daily activities, i wonder why you have to single out the debate like it is the only avenue that such could happen; they have boycotted the debate due to their incompetence in answering the questions that they'd be asked, they only attend debates that the questions have been sent to them beforehand, giving them ample time to prepare an answer.
A good leader's quality is not what he says but what he has done in the past;
Lol. What if it is someone who hasn't previously held any political position. There is a reason why there are election campaigns, rallies, debates, manifestos, etc, it is to give the people an inkling of what your intentions are, the populace will love to hear what your ideas of a better nation are, AND there is also a reason why elections are held every four years, because the people can analyse your performance in 4 years based on what you said you would do, and thus vote you out if you've failed to deliver, or relect you if you have done well.
you can never win a debate with someone who speaks English better than you; the one with good grammar will always win over the audience at the debate ground.
That is so wrong, a debate isn't about syntactic or grammatical construction of words OR how large ones vocabulary is, but the content of what is said. Mind you also that winning debates isn't the thing, but subsequently performing based on what you said.
Even if the said candidate attends the so-called debate, you will begin body shaming them or discussing their dress code. It is a fact that you can never satisfy a Nigerian.
This is no reason to boycott it if you indeed have something tangible to say and offer if voted in.
2306  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: November 11, 2022, 12:22:37 PM
The rumours of Ronaldo leaving Manchester United is not on the rise anymore, every other rumour circulating the media is by journalist to make money. Ronaldo is no longer under pressure to leave Manchester United because he has started seeing playing time. The misunderstanding between him and the coach is settled we should expect a good football from Ronaldo by next season. The only club that may buy Ronaldo is Chelsea because they are very much interested in him.
I don't even know if Chelsea might be interested in Ronaldo considering his age and wages, there were rumors that the new hierarchy at the club admires Ronaldo and wanted to sign him for Tuchel which he refused and that prolly had a part to play in him losing his job, right now i don't know if Todd Boehly is still interested, and if Graham Potter will want a player with a big personality and ego like Ronaldo.

Having said that, the January winter transfer window will answer all questions considering Ronaldo's future, i don't think he and Erik Ten Hag are getting along on a personal note, but it looks like they are on a professional note as Ronaldo is now getting a fair amount of game time and respect that his big personality demands. I'd love to see what happens after the WC, but i am pretty sure that in order to avoid any further altercation betwen the club and Ronaldo, he will be informed if he is part of their plans or not early enough, so he can leave if he is not happy with the plans for him.
2307  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 10, 2022, 07:30:27 PM
Liverpool are unlucky to match Real Madrid again after they have been beaten and eliminated twice by Real Madrid in the past two seasons they have been matched again this season at this early stage of the Champions League. This could be another humilating game or a revenge match for Liverpool against Real Madrid. One way or the other Liverpool will give in their best in this match to get a positive outcome.
I am pretty sure even UEFA the organizing body would not be happy with this fixture because one of these two superpowers will be eliminated so early in the competition (RO16 stage), they'd also not be happy with the other heavyweight clash between PSG and Bayern Munich, they'd love to see all these four teams in the QF stage at least, it makes the competition more interesting and competitive.

Having said that, it is what it is, and we can have only two of them in the QF stage. It is actually very difficult to predict which of these teams will make it through, but with the way Liverpool are performing i think it is going to be pretty much difficult for them to eliminate the defending champions, things might be entirely different after the WC and by the time we start the RO16 fixtures, but if it does remain the same i think Liverpool would be an easy opponent for Real Madrid, as for PSG v Bayern, that one is unpredictable for now imo.

Thomas Tuchel wasn't doing anything positive
I completely disagree with you, Tuchel won the CL with Chelsea because he had a working strategy/philosophy, and not because of anything else, Frank Lampard didn't last long enough for you to claim he built a team that Tuchel then used in winning the trophy, when a manager wins a trophy for a club, even after just joining the team, that trophy is won out of his hardwork and imo has nothing to do with the previous manager.

Having said that, Tuchel is a better manager than Potter in every aspect, Chelsea played better football under Tuchel than they are doing now, the way i see it i believe that Potter is more of a small club manager rather than a big team like Chelsea. You can agree with me that there was no need to fire Tuchel, it was only because the new hierarchy at the club wanted to establish their authority, well i don't think time will benefit Potter, and in a year or so we could start seeing Chelsea fans asking for Potter to be sacked.
2310  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 09, 2022, 02:13:38 PM
Bayern happen to be the only club that finished their group stage without a draw nor lose. Mancity, Benfica and PSG had two draws each. This doesn't stop the fact that they all have equal chances but the possibility of Bayern playing in the finals is higher compared to other club. The have the highest game composure and team understanding in the champions League
Well i don't quite agree with you, whilst Bayern Munich are an absolute powerhouse in the CL, they do not have a higher chance of playing in the final than the other big teams in the tournament, at least not this season because of their RO16 opponent, Bayern come up against PSG, a game that is 50/50 for both teams, thus it is very possible that Bayern could crash out of the CL at the RO16 stage.

Having said that, i think in the Bayern v PSG game the pressure is on PSG, because when they were eliminated last season the players had to endure a lot of abuse from their own fans, even Neymar was booed by his own fans, it showed the players that the fans want that elusive CL trophy, and only that can make them happy, the players will be afraid not to crash out yet again, and what the implications of an exit could be, well like i said the game is 50/50, and it is well about anyone's game.
2311  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 08, 2022, 07:19:07 PM
Conte must focus on this problem of the team also. They don't have big problems on defeating smaller teams obviously. However they just can't do the same to their biggest rivals in the league now. Tottenham have a really strong squad actually. They have the strength to upset all of those teams. Conte just needs to develop new strategies depending on their opponents.
Well, imo Conte himself is the problem with the team, i have always had an issue with his footballing philosophies/ideologies because i think he tends to always set up his teams to be on the defensive rather than attack, a team like Spurs with a plethora of talented players should not always take the negative approach.

Having said that, i think the reason they do well against smaller teams is because that tactics can work against them, but it won't work against a bigger team that can hold possession very good, and if Conte continues with that approach, i am afraid they will struggle to win any trophies and could even miss out on a top four finish.
2312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 08, 2022, 01:59:13 PM
I don't think Frankfurt will be a serious obstacle for Napoli and just because Frankfurt beat Celtic doesn't mean they can beat Napoli. True, this game is still four months away and no one knows how things will go for both clubs. But I think Napoli are in contention to play in the final this season.
Well with the way Napoli are firing on all cylinders nobody can doubt the fact that they are a big threat in the CL this season, i for one would not want my team to meet them in any stage of the CL this season, i don't think they might get to the final, but if they do not have such a tough opponent in the QF, i think they will go as far as the SF and that could prolly be where their tournament will come to an end, as for their RO16 tie with Frankfurt, it is going to be a pretty straightforward victory for Napoli, except they capitulate so bad and lose quite a lot of form and momentum before the game, otherwise they are already sure of a QF spot.
2313  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Your take on Bitcoin adoption trust issues on: November 07, 2022, 09:17:13 PM
Based on the conversation, I found out that the biggest challenge currently within Bitcoin adoption in those Communities is trust issues, It's extremely difficult and hard for people to agree and come to term with anything that has to do with Bitcoin most especially as a result of those government approved school scheme for sensitization about the danger of digital currencies, Thereby corrupting the minds of those young ones
Well people who have trust/risk concern issues haven't done their own research, they only rely on the negative information and propaganda highlighted in the media and by the Government about Bitcoin. People do not have to agree/trust what other people say about Bitcoin, the network is open source and decentralized, they can verify whatever and also be a part of the network. what is required of them is to do their own research, they can't have trust/risk concern issues when they don't even understand a thing about the network.
2314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can we see a huge rise in the price of Dogecoin ? on: November 07, 2022, 06:10:46 PM
Do you think one should bet on this event and spend good amount of money on dogecoin for reaping the benefits later ? Or we should not rely on a man like Elon Musk who has made contradictory statements about bitcoin is past? Which side are you ?
I don't think one should bet on a crypto because one person is causing hype and promoting it, what a very risky thing to do, this can be akin to manipulation, and it doesn't end well. When a coin can be manipulated by one or a few persons, then mind you that the same coin can likewise crash due to the actions and influence of that person or a few people too, it goes both ways and anything can happen.

Having said that, if you believe there is a new hype coming that would pump Dogecoin then you can invest, but for the short term, because hype never lasts long, especially when it is driven by one man, if you want to spend a good amount of money on a coin and reap the benefits in the long run you should look at coins that have an actual utility and aren't basically driven by solely hype/manipulation.

2316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 07, 2022, 01:32:11 PM
Dortmund is considered as weaker than Chelsea. They don't have a strong striker like Haaland and it is a disadvantage for them. Chelsea have better players than Dortmund and they will be a favorite team for gamblers. Anyway, in football, surprise is the most interesting thing and we can wait for surprise from Dortmund. It is supported by unstable performance of Chelsea in this season.
These are exactly what i said. But i for one isn't expecting any upset from Dortmund in this game, i think it is going to be a pretty straightforward victory for Chelsea, though i am not expecting the blues to go farther than the QF, or at best, the SF, except if they come back really strong after the world cup and prolly make a couple of good signings in the winter transfer window to lift the team, because right now they are pretty very low in confidence.
2317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 07, 2022, 12:26:06 PM
This is the end of the road for Chelsea in the Champions League unfortunately. Dortmund over Chelsea.
I don't really think so, whilst Dortmund are a very decent team, i think you'd be asking too much of them to eliminate Chelsea in the RO16 stage in the CL, i know Chelsea are not in their best moment currently, but they remain a powerhouse in the CL, and are one of the strongest teams in the tournament. Mind you also that this round of fixtures will be played next year, after the WC, so quite a lot could have changed for Chelsea in terms of team momentum and morale, and they could prolly be back to the same Chelsea that we know, i'm afraid i think Chelsea are winning this tie all day long.
2318  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: November 07, 2022, 10:16:49 AM
Chelsea was never a threat to Arsenal in yesterday 's match, the gunners dominated the match from the start to finish unfortunately only managed to score a lone goal, from all indications now Arsenal had improved tremendously while playing top teams in EPL in contrast with the performance against top teams in the previous seasons
Arsenal have improved in absolutely every aspect of their game, Mikel Arteta is worthy of an awful anount of credit for what he is doing this season, they struggled at the beginning of last season and only began to improve towards the end, though they were unable to crown it with a place in this season's CL; but this season is in sharp contrast to how they started the last one, they look like a completely different team, and even people who didn't believe in them are now believing that they are indeed title contenders.

Having said that, post Tuchel era and it seems Chelsea have gone some steps backward, i know Potter has lost just twice, but i haven't seen Chelsea play well under him, even in the games they didn't lose, they aren't playing like a big team, and it might prolly not be long before we start seeing "Potter out" placards at their games.
2319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: November 07, 2022, 07:13:55 AM
Liverpool each struggle with their front lines, Nunez still hasn't contributed anything to Liverpool so it's very difficult for them to be included in potential champion candidates, while Napoli is an inconsistent team, we know in the last few seasons they have played normally but in this season they are looking good, if Napoli meets a big team like Madrid, PSG or Bayern, Napoli will surely lose.
Nunez hasn't been all that bad, he has scored a couple of goals and assisted some too, and if you judge his contribution with the minutes he has been restricted too, you'd understand that he has been somewhat impressive, though when i watch him i see that he still has a lot of work to do in order to become a better player, his decision making sometimes is quite poor. Liverpool aren't strong favorites because the overall team isn't playing at their best and not because of any player in particular.

Having said that, Napoli will be that smaller team that the big teams will be hoping to avoid, not that they cannot defeat them, but because it could be tricky, and absolutely anything can happen, i get this feeling that Napoli are going to provide an upset in this season's CL, not that they'd win it, of course they can't, but they might just eliminate a team that nobody gave them a chance against.
2320  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early Sign to Adopt Bitcoin by Nigerian Government on: November 06, 2022, 10:15:04 PM
you can see clearly from the screenshot above that OP said the Nigerian government are willing to train up to 30k people in blockchain, specifically Bitcoin.
Okay bro, well truly that is what OP said, but from the article that he linked there was absolutely no mention of Bitcoin in the plans, it was all about just the blockchain technology, and to even make matters worse they mentioned Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV), which definitely isn't Bitcoin, thus i prolly don't know if they do not know the two coins are different, or if they are actually interested in useless BSV.
why then are they going to train 30k person in blockchain technology is there are absolutely no plan to implement the blockchain technology in any sector of the country's economy?
Well i can only answer from the information i have gotten from the article that was linked, here are some excerpts as to the reason for the training:
Quote
The objective of the training course is to make the participants “early solution providers in the fourth industrial revolution.”
Quote
intended to hasten the adoption of the tech and make Nigeria a leading player in the blockchain industry.
Quote
“quality education and equipping participants with the skills to build real-life blockchain solutions.”
Thus from the above i prolly might have been wrong with my initial comment, and maybe they actually have plans for implementation, but with the Nigerian government you just never know, we'd have to wait and see!
